Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's daily Highlight from Elvis Duran in the Morning show.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
You know, this week we are talking about our friends
at Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital. We talk about them
all the time, but we have this really special, cool
thing going on right now. If you text the word
Elvis to six to six to six two for nineteen
dollars a month, you make the.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Big the.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
What are you guys doing?

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Are there?

Speaker 2 (00:26):
What's you make a nice contribution and you get the
this shirt saved a live or saves Lives shirt, and
you also get the Elvis Drean beanie from Saint Jude
Children's Research Hospital.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Yeah, they posted all of them if people want to
see what those look like too.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Oh where they posted Elvis Duran show. Yeah, Elvis Dren's
show on Instagram or elvistran dot com. Uh so do that,
I've got I've got Tony on the line. Hold on, Tony.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Oh, I'm so glad you're spending time with us. You
of all people, understand the importance of Saint Jude. This
is a family affair with Tony.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Absolutely, Saint Jude saved your wife's life twice. And they
go ahead, go ahead, sorry, And two cousins and a niece. Yeah,
talk about that.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Well, my wife at fourteen and seventeen, she got a
type of sarcoma that not many survived back then when
they got that, and they saved her twice. She had
it in her leg and again in their lungs.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Oh wow.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
And then two cousins and my niece all three got
leukemia when they were young and they were able to
save all three. So wow.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Okay, so look at that. We're talking about a family.
You know, we always talk about how Saint Jude is
so important for the families of people who are going
through cancer, these kids, but now we're talking about a
family with cancer and then their family, which you know
now includes you. So Saint Jude is definitely an important
part and benchmark of your family's lives, right.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Oh. Absolutely. Yeah. We donate ten monthly and they bring
my wife down every five years or so to do
task on her to see how her body has reacted
over the years to the radiation and stuff like that.
There was no cost. They put us up in the

(02:25):
I can't remember what it's called, the Ronald McDonald House
and the Grizzly House, but yeah, it's they're amazing.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
It's interesting. Also, Tony, who's a truck driver out there
just doing everything you can to make the dream happen
and make a living for the family, still donates twenty
dollars a month.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Right, it's a very important part of your month every month. Correct,
I'm sure it is.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Oh, absolutely all right.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Well that's what we're trying to get everyone here to
do as well. Yea, these families, you know, these families their.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Charity that's well Worth and they put that money to
use to save kids and stuff, and they don't pay it.
You don't have to pay a dime. So it's it's amazing.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
What they do in the amount of cost to run
Saint Jude Is. It's it's massive. It's a monster because
you're a million dollars a day, a million dollars a
day day, Yeah, a day. Daniel doesn't even spend that
on shoes.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
I know that's kind of weird, Tony, But you know what,
not only are the scientists and the doctors and everyone
who support them, they're around the clockwork, but they also
have a team of hundreds, maybe thousands of people who
are on the phone making sure Tony's families have places
to stay when they're in town for treatments, making sure

(03:37):
they're on planes.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
I mean, it's there's no way to figure out every
moving part at Saint Jude, but we're here to help.
Nineteen dollars a month if you go to UH text
the word Elvis to six two sixty two six two,
that's three sixty two's uh. Nineteen dollars a month gets
you that shirt and also the Elvis Duran Beanie. But Tony,
it's a pleasure speaking with you. Please say our love

(04:00):
and warmth to your family.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Absolutely well, I will do that.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
It's great talking to you. Thank you very much. Have
a great weekend. Okay, okay, Christmas Wow wow, And there
you have it again. Text Elvis to sixty two sixty
two sixty two down the hall in Jacksonville from where
Froggy is sitting. You guys have your second day of
your Saint Jude radiothon going on. What's the latest frog,
what's going on down there?

Speaker 3 (04:23):
We do. We've crossed the one hundred and ten thousand
dollars mark, so today our goal. Our goal is two twenty.
We'll see if we reach that. But one of the
also one of the things about Saint Jude is the
information that they do through their trials. They share all
over the country and so when they come up with
a cure for a cancer, it is shared with hospitals

(04:43):
all over the place. So you can get Saint Jude
protocols on your child to help cure them of a
cancer right in your hometown. So when you are donating
to Saint Jude, you are also donating to hospitals in
the area where you live to save children.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Wow, there you go, classy place. True
