Hi, Dimond. There she is, Scotty bees Hi, Scotty, good morning.
I saw Garrett running around. Andrew's here early, Gandhi is out.
She took a travel day.

Speaker 6 (00:58):
Yes, because it takes forever to get back from Los Angeles.

I know it's the same country, but it seems like it.
You have to plan ahead.

Yes, you do, you do early, you.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Get in late. Anyway, So we have a lot of
guests today. It's gonna be a busy, busy day. I'll
get into that list in a few minutes. Something big,
something really cool happening here in New York City in Brooklyn,
right and Barclay Center tonight. Our buddy Ed Sharon celebrating
ten years since he released Multiply.

Speaker 6 (01:22):
So exciting. I'm so excited for him. I think he
came out officially in June, but he's celebrating at the
Barclays tonight, so I'm so happy for him.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
I thought you wanted to go to the show.

Speaker 6 (01:31):

track meet. So my children come first, Ed, come second.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Oh your son's running in the train. Mate. You made
it sound like you were no Ma, No.

Speaker 6 (01:41):
I just wave. I just wave in video. That's what
I do.

Speaker 7 (01:44):
Well.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Happy tenth for Multiply to our friend Ed Sharon. All right,
let me get this story straight. Okay, that was Ed Sharon,
and don't right for Multiply. Now the story goes now,
crazy me if I'm wrong. He was Ellie Golding, right,
And then he found out that Ellie Golding was down

(02:06):
the hallway on the same hotel floor doing Nile Horn.

Speaker 6 (02:10):
That's the rumor. That's the rumor, and he has admitted
that that was what that. It was definitely about that, okay,
but he'd had a number one song from it.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Now, when they say they did it on the hotel floor,
is it on the floor of a hotel or on
the same floor they were staying it.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
I think it's on I think they were staying on
the same hotel floor. So maybe he meant they were
having it on that same floor.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Maybe they did it on the floor on the same floor.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
Maybe, huh.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
I don't know. That's not what we're excited about. We're
excited about ten years since multiplayer came out. We love you,
Ed Sharon. Hey, our first caller of the day is Mitzi. Hey, Mitzi, how.

Speaker 7 (02:48):
Are you hi.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
I'm doing great, guys, Good morning.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Good morning. So she wanted to call and give us
a message. What's that Mitzi?

Speaker 4 (02:57):
Well, I wanted to give you guys an update because
on March twenty fifth, I had called and I couldn't
give my real name, and it was the day that
I was quitting my job. Because you guys, you know,
you always give us that motivation and you give us
that courage to do what we need to do.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Right, we like to encourage our listeners to be quitters.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
Yes, yes, hey, nothing wrong with that. So I did
that and I have been living my best life and
I have been going to Broadways shows and just enjoying life.
And like, right now, I'm getting ready to go see
Kelly Clarkson live at one of her taking shows where
Patty LaBelle will be a guest dak and I'm just

(03:36):
so excited for you.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
No, wait a minute, So you quit your job and
now you're just going to TV shows? What's going on here?

Speaker 4 (03:42):
I'm just I'm going to Broadway shows like I saw
Hell's Kitchen and Danielle you are one thousand percent right,
best show ever, ever, ever, And I got to see
The Wiz And now I'm doing Kelly and I've just
been just doing everything we wanted to do.

Speaker 8 (03:58):
Well.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Hold on, who's paid for all that?

Speaker 6 (04:00):
Yeah? Yeah, what's your secret?

Speaker 4 (04:03):
I you know you save a little for these types
of moments.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Get a little plus. Let's keep in mind, Kelly Clarkson,
you don't pay to get into that. You're good.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
No, no, but I can't believe I'm going to see her.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Lie.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
This is so crazy And if I was working, I
would not.

Speaker 9 (04:20):
Be able to do this today.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
There another cherry on top.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I don't know what to do.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
We thank you guys. That's again.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Let's make a list of things we could be doing
if we weren't here right now. Thanks to you, Mitzi. Hey, Mitzi,
it's good to talk to you. You sound like you're
extremely happy. What do we have for Mitzi?

Speaker 10 (04:36):
Well, Mitzi, this will go far with your new life.
A fifty dollars Wendy's gift card. Enjoy that new three
dollar English muffin deal.

Speaker 2 (04:44):

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Thank you so much, guys. I love you. I hope
you have a wonderful day.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Thank you. I think we will now thanks to you.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Kelly.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Yeah, tell Kelly Wi shid Hi love her. Thank you, Mitzi. Wow,
what a story.

Speaker 6 (04:56):
That's awesome.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Yeah. So I was listening to you guys back in May,
and you taught me into quitting my job. And now
I just go to shows like, oh my god, I want.

Speaker 11 (05:03):
That lie I know right?

Speaker 6 (05:05):
And how do you make the money because I'd like
that to know that.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
I want to know all of it. Well, this is
where we usually go to Gandhi for the three things
we need to know. But she is out today. She'll
be back on with us tomorrow here in studio, so
until then we don't know what's going on, you know.

Speaker 6 (05:17):
What her podcast though her new episode of our podcast
drop today, So I know she has Drake Bell on
there and he's like really dishing some dirt that you
may not have known.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
About in the show that comes out today. That's sauce
on the side. Yeah, make sure you get it when
you're listening to your podcast on your iHeartRadio app. All right, well,
so good. It's a day of us not hearing the news.
I think I like that. Okay, a day of that
news is good. Are you guys ready for your Wednesday?

Speaker 11 (05:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (05:42):
I ever wondered what we look like. Do you think
I look in bred?

Speaker 12 (05:45):
I do follow us on Instagram at Elvis Duran Show
Elvis Duran.

Speaker 2 (05:50):

about regular price prices are higher in Alaska and Hawaii.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
In the Morning Show, there he is, there's Uncle Johnny.
We were talking this morning about Uncle Johnny passed away. Well,
Friday will be three weeks right, It is crazy but
Johnny accomplished something we should all be striving for. He
was such a powerful personality and had such a crazy,

(06:34):
wild mammoth presence. Even after his body stopped working, he
doesn't die. He's still alive. It's weird. I mean, it's
so evident. So, I mean that's a lesson for all
of us. We should be We should be leaving a
footprint on this universe that makes it where we seem
to live forever. A positive footprint exactly, not bad. If

(06:58):
it's a bad footprint, it's like, oh, let him go. Yeah,
but no, he did. It was amazing, And Sam I
gotta I gotta thank your mother. Samantha's mother sent me
the most incredible gift in honor of uncle Johnny.

Speaker 14 (07:10):
She's such a sweetheart. And what was funny was she
hands it to me. I'm like, mom, this is so cheesy,
And my.

Speaker 6 (07:15):
Sister's like, where do you think you got it from?
That's fair. I deserve that apple tree.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Exactly.

Speaker 10 (07:21):
I can't throw.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
All right, So Gandhi is out. If you're wondering, she
will be back tomorrow. She must be worn out. I mean,
when you go to Los Angeles and you get up
at one o'clock to do this show one am because
of the time change, and you're there for a couple
of days. It really just beats the hell out of here.

Speaker 6 (07:38):
I did it last year, and I remember and she's
and she was going out more than I was going out.
So I'm like, I don't know what you are you doing?

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Well? The thing is that you don't want to go
You should go to bed around seven, Yeah, but no one,
No one wants to go to bed at seven. You're
in Los Angeles. Let's go do something right exactly. I
mean by Nature is an early town, but it's not
that early. So anyway, so she uh traveling today, she
will be back on with us tomorrow. What's wrong?

Speaker 15 (08:01):
Nothing.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
I'm looking for my stories.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Do you have your story? We're gonna get into those
in a few minutes. What happened to Iron Zering? Back
in twenty twenty three.

Speaker 6 (08:09):
He had an altercation with the bikers.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
If you remember many bikers?

Speaker 6 (08:13):
Yeah, right, So I think they finally arrested some of them.

Speaker 7 (08:16):
So that's what happened.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Now, the mini bike gang? Is it like little clowns
on mini bikes?

Speaker 16 (08:20):
No?

Speaker 1 (08:20):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
That just sounds like something that would happen to Iron Zering.
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (08:26):
He was here.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Yeah, he's never coming back.

Speaker 10 (08:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (08:30):
Two people, Oh wait, two people were booked. I think.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Yeah, I'm getting yelled at by Nate because he wants
to wants us to stay on time, because we have
a lot of guests too. We got a busy day today,
busy all right, all right, So Tommy de Dariel's coming
by first. He'll be hearing in a minute. He has
this interview on his podcast with an incredible actor who
talked about his life, mental health and a twist to

(08:53):
the story. It's getting worldwide attention. We'll get into that
a little bit. Charlemagne, the god Charlemagne from the Breakfast Club.

Speaker 6 (09:00):
He's not really a guess. He's like part of the fan.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
H He's part of the furniture. They had a breakfast club.
I'm sure I'm going on and on. They had a
breakfast club answer on Jeopardy.

Speaker 6 (09:09):
Yeah, that was so cool.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Not a question, an answer. Busy day. Callum Scott, my
dear friend, huge, huge star over in the UK. Now
he's a song that's gonna be big here again. He's back.
He's back in the States. He's got a new song.
We're going to play that. It's a busy day, lots
of stuff. Let's right, Should I move on now? Yes?

Speaker 17 (09:31):
What scary?

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Oh, I'm about to do the horoscopes with Sam?

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Oh? God? Okay, horoscopes?

Speaker 17 (09:36):
Who are doing this with?

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Well?

Speaker 7 (09:37):
Scary gave it away?

Speaker 6 (09:38):
How about surprise?

Speaker 18 (09:40):

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Crunch Elvis Duran in the Morning Show. All this is
Elvis Duran.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
In the Morning Shows, the coolest thing this morning. Maybe
you've seen it already. It's gone viral, okay, But whilst
going viral, I was sucked in as well. So there
was a young lady, her name is Fallon. She went viral. TikTok.
I believe she shared this text message she received from
her dad, Scott. His dad actually watched her boyfriend and

(12:00):
dump her right there in the driveway in front of
the house. So dad to the rescue. Do you want
to hear this text? And everyone's talking about it. It's
what a cool dad. Hey, baby girl, here's some perspective
from your old man. I've had lots of relationships from
one night stands to flings, to friends with benefits, to
girlfriends to living girlfriends, and then I met your mom.

(12:21):
I can say with certainty that when I met her
it was instantly different. I can also say that I
knew it was different because I went through those other experiences.
So what you're dealing with today is necessary in order
for you to one day be able to discern when
a person is really right for you. I can also
say that even though I was broken up with and

(12:42):
in one instance I was cheated on, it was worth
it to get to where I am now looking back,
I don't want, for one second ever, I do not,
for one second ever wish I could still be with
any of those other ladies, even though at the time
I was heartbroken and it felt like I would never
recover and I was destined to be alone. I promise

(13:02):
you this is not your future. Some of the best
advice I'll ever give you is this, When someone lets
you know that you're not for them, deal with the
pain and hurt with the knowledge that this person just
gave you back the most valuable thing in the world
your time. Be grateful for the experience you had with
that person and the good times you got to have

(13:25):
with them, and then rejoice in the knowledge that your
life is still completely yours and you have not wasted it,
shackled to someone that did not complete completely want you.
Then he finishes up. There are cows and bulls in
this life.

Speaker 16 (13:41):
Now.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
I remember my dad told me this when I was
a kid. It's so funny. There are cows and there
are bulls in this life. You see, when a cow
sees a storm, they run away from it. What ends
up happening is they end up being tortured by that
storm longer, is they're actually keeping themselves in the storm longer. However,
when a bull sees a storm, they run towards it,

(14:04):
facing the onslaught head on. Initially, it's terrible, but they're
strong and they can weather the storm. And because they
ran towards the storm, they were able to endure it,
and the storm passed them quickly and they soon found
themselves in a peaceful place. So in life, be the bull.
Lean into your storms, embrace the suck and let it

(14:26):
fill you up. You were strong enough to endure, and
very soon you'll be at peace. Stay on your path,
achieving your goals, and with all of your time still
in surplus love dad.

Speaker 6 (14:38):
Ah, that's awesome, it's true. That is so cool. Great advice, And.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
You know what, so, and whenever something in life is
really kicking your ass, it hurts, It can hurt, it
can just rip your heart to shreds. Yeah, lean into it.

Speaker 6 (14:55):
Don't you remember like being there though, being like in
love where you thought you were in love and then
you know, they rip your heart out and you think
that I'm never going to get over this, ya ever,
And then you find I remember my grandmother talking me
through things. Don't worry, he's a jerk, blah blah blah,
you know, and at the time you're like, you don't
want to hear anything, and nothing anybody can say is

(15:16):
going to help you out right, you know.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
But other things in life that hurt as well, the
loss of someone who passes away, or you lose a
job or whatever. Don't run away from that hurt. Lean
into it because it's supposed to hurt. And every time
I have a friend who loses a friend or a
family member, they say, God, it's just I can't get
over it. I hurt so so much. And the first

(15:40):
thing I always say is it's supposed to hurt. And
that's kind of hard to swallow when you're in the
middle of it. But there you go. Anyway, great Dad.
I love sharing that with you. Daniel, you have a
lot of stuff going on. What's going on all right?

Speaker 6 (15:53):
Well, first of all, Snoop Dog is auctioning off some
priceless treasures. This is really cool. It's a ton of stuff.
He's at The Realist, which is an auction site, and
it features everything from closed to jewelry, from real to
real tapes, a preserved blunt smoked by Snoop, and even
a one of a kind item that he says is
totally authenticated by him. The first round of auction ends

(16:15):
on June second, and then big ticket items include a
handwritten tour set list, a custom death Row records pendant.
So he's got a lot of cool stuff on there,
so you may want to check it out again. It's
the Realist, that's the name of the auction site.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
Can you imagine, I mean, you're gonna actually bid for
a roach?

Speaker 21 (16:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:32):
I know that, Snoops. I mean he's got he's probably
got thousands of them.

Speaker 6 (16:36):
I mean it's got his DNA on it though. Can't
you clone him from that if you really wanted to?

Speaker 2 (16:40):
We need more Snoops.

Speaker 10 (16:41):
We do so.

Speaker 6 (16:43):
I don't know if you've heard about this but by
now Matthew Perry's death is under investigation by the DEA
and the US Postal Inspection Service. They were brought in
to trace the source of the ketamine that led to
his overdose. So the toxicology report indicated that the ketamine
was not from his prescription, So they're thinking he may
have gotten it off the black market and they want

(17:03):
to figure out how and if they can prosecute somebody.
So well seen. Fox and Friends has revealed it star
studded lineup for its twenty twenty four summer concert series.
There's a bunch of different genres of music in there,
but guess what it's leaning towards country music? Yeah, country music.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
There you go, look at Froggy.

Speaker 6 (17:21):
It's just amazing. So it's good. There's an incredible lineup,
so if you get a chance, you might want to
google that. Speaking of country, if you watch country music artists,
a lot of them fall down and get back up
on the stage, like Morgan Wall and they all.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
Falling are the drinking beer.

Speaker 6 (17:35):
I don't know Luke Bryant, but we've got a new
guy that just fell down and got back up. Froggy
take it away.

Speaker 22 (17:41):
So Luke Colmes was in Santa Clair, California, boy where
the forty nine Ers play. He had gunned some beers
on stage, which is what he does when he goes
to do his shows. He usually brings in players from
the NFL team in that city. So George Kittle and
another forty nine er on stage. They literally knock a
hole in the side of a beer they're gunning it.
Some beer gets on the stage. They didn't clean it up. Well,

(18:03):
Luke goes to walk down the stage, does a split,
completely lands it, falls down and handled it like a
total pro. He's not injured. He got up and finished
the show. But yeah, add Luke comes to the list
of country stars falling on stage.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
So is that what coachry stars do? They all gun
some beer before they go instage?

Speaker 22 (18:18):
Is Luke does one of two things, either shotguns of
beer or he'll fill a red solo cup up with
a beer and then just drop kick it and pun
it into the audience.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
All right, yeah you go, Luke.

Speaker 6 (18:30):
All right, let's talk about Charlie Pooth. He is thanking
Taylor Swift for inspiring his next era and music. He
got a shout out on her album and we all
know that by now, and he said it was the
kick in the pants that he needed to make more music.
So he took to Instagram. He said he's putting out
a new song on Friday. It's cald Hero and he
said it's all thanks to her, and he said he's
never put out a song like this before. It's very

(18:50):
different for me. But I want to thank Taylor for
letting me know musically that I just couldn't keep this
on my hard drive any longer. And so we're getting
it on front.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
Wait to get it.

Speaker 6 (19:00):
Yeah, what's on? Let's see the Masked Singer. You've got
Chicago met all your Chicago shows, Survivor Abbott Elementary, You've
got Grownish. You also have oh Gandhi's podcast is out today.
Her new episode, Uh saw us on the Side. It's
really cool because it's Drake Bell and you know all
the controversy and drama around him, and he drops some
stuff that he's never told anybody before. So you may

(19:21):
want to check that out today as well. And that
is my Danielle Report.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
A lot of people Danielle are texting you. They want
to they want to go online to read that text
from the father to the daughter.

Speaker 6 (19:30):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
So here's how I found it today. I did a
search for text from dad to daughter after she was dumped.

Speaker 6 (19:38):
That'll do it.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
And it takes me. It took me to the it's
a BuzzFeed article. Okay, so it or read it or both,
I don't know.

Speaker 17 (19:45):
Whatever.

Speaker 6 (19:45):
What a great.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
So so do a search for text from dad to
father after she was dumped. I love that dad, be resourceful. Yeah,
you can find it. And look, we're really on time.
Here are you happy with me?

Speaker 1 (19:55):

Speaker 18 (19:56):

Speaker 9 (19:57):

Speaker 2 (20:27):
I just want to say I love you, and if
I was with you in your car driving to work
right now, I would stick my tongue in your ear.
Thank you for listening to me. Another that's what I
would do. Thank god, I'm not with you.

Speaker 6 (20:42):
I'd lick you up and down, Yes, I would.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
What was that song?

Speaker 23 (20:46):
Then?

Speaker 2 (20:46):
And then and none? Let me lick you up and down?

Speaker 5 (20:48):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (20:49):
That was that song? Boom boom.

Speaker 22 (20:51):
Well there was another one like by Silk that was
let me look you up and down.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Oh my god. All right, give me that boom boom
boom song. All right, we got to get to work.
So our friend Tommy de Dario is here. He's not
even a guest anymore. He's like, he's like a piece
of furniture.

Speaker 6 (21:09):
And when he dresses like this, it's like, it's so funny.
When he walks in the room, all the guys are like,
could you wear a tighter shirt? Because he looks so
good in it. And I think there's a little jealousy
that goes on in this room.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
I think if I was like a young girl shopping
in the junior's department, I'll have that shirt off, thank
you very much, exactly where I bought it, exactly where
I bought it. I'm chopping down the hall in the
Huskies section. Throw you Tommy anyway. It's good to have
you here.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
You know.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Tommy's podcast is doing really well. And of late, when
did this podcast with Uh with Guzman come out?

Speaker 17 (21:43):
Tuesday? Yesterday?

Speaker 2 (21:46):
This week is so slow anyway, it's getting worldwide attention
from the conversation now Ryan Guzman. Of course, from nine
to one to one, right, Uh, you guys were talking
about mental health and it really really kind of took
off into direction you had no idea was gonna take
off in two right.

Speaker 17 (22:04):
I had no idea, no idea.

Speaker 24 (22:05):
Obviously, at the end of every episode, I asked the
question that's based off the title of the show, what
is one thing you've never said before? And he shared
with me that about six years ago, he tried to
take his own life and he never talked about that before,
and he wanted to open up about that because he
wanted to show people that you don't have to get
to that point. For number one, and he's so grateful

(22:26):
that it didn't work and he's here. And for number two,
the importance of having people you can lean on. And
he grew up not being able to show emotions, not
being able to be vulnerable, and he said, you know,
I have brothers that I can lean on, and if
you don't have that, find new brothers, Right, and find
people you can lean on. So he really wants to
put this out now to speak more about the importance
of mental health.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
So as an interviewer, from your point of view, you're
having this conversation swimmingly. Well maybe it's a good interview
or maybe it's a great interview. And then you go, Okay,
it's now time for you to tell me something you've
never told anyone, and he says this, do you did
you know at that point he had never admitted this
to anyone in the press before.

Speaker 24 (23:06):
Well, he share he's never ever said this, And I
could see him getting there, getting to the point of
being like, Okay, I'm gonna I'm just gonna say it,
like he thought about it for a second, right, And
I never expected something like that is so deeply personal.
And immediately my reaction is I want to make you
feel safe, like I want to make you feel okay
that you are talking about this, and I don't want
to give you one weird look or say the wrong thing,

(23:26):
and I just want to create a comfortable environment where
you feel like, ah, I'm glad I put that out there,
and especially this month it's mental health Awareness month. But
you know what, it's a three hundred and sixty five
day year crisis. It's not just a month. So it's
so important to put messages out like out like this.
And I don't know about you, guys. I've lost people
to mental health struggles and it's such a problem in
this day and age that we live in. And I

(23:46):
love that someone like him. You look at him, he's
a stud, he's on a big show. You would never
think he has these problems. And he's like, no, I do. Like,
you never know what somebody is going through.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
Never I know.

Speaker 6 (23:57):
We always say, we always say, even though people seem
like they're fine, you just never know. We had a
good friend when we worked at the other radio station
and every day was the happiest person we all knew,
and then all of a sudden he disappeared for a
couple of months and someone said, oh, no, he's going
to depression right now. We would never have thought he
would have gone through that, But like we said, you
just do not know.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
And we've lost a really good friend, who, by the way,
has a connection with an artist that we have coming
in later. It's kind of an interesting circle. It doesn't
matter here here here, listen to this obviously Ryan Guzman
who tried to take his life and failed.

Speaker 17 (24:34):
Thank god.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
How many years ago was that? About six six years ago?
It took him this long through his processing this to
actually get the courage to say, hey, I got to
talk about this. And that is even if it doesn't
involve suicide, just any simple part of mental health that
you're struggling with. It is a process to get to
the point where you can actually talk about it. So
we need to find ways to make people feel comfortable

(24:58):
and supported so they can start talking about it earlier
and benefit themselves earlier.

Speaker 24 (25:05):
Yeah, we have to erase the stigma, right, I mean,
so many people go through it, and we need to
talk about it to not get to a place where
Ryan got to.

Speaker 17 (25:12):
You know, it's so important.

Speaker 24 (25:13):
And furthermore, I think the other thing that I've seen
with sadly the friend I lost and people who have
gone to very dark places. What exasperates it all seems
to be this incessant bullying and people always commenting and
giving opinions that you would never necessarily say to someone's face.
But they're writing about it, right, They're typing it on
their keyboards and sending it on a tweet or a
social media message, and I am so damn sick of it.

(25:35):
Like I think we need to stop and realize these
are human beings. And like you were saying, Danielle, you
don't know what someone is going through. You don't know,
so just keep your mouth shut and stop commenting about
their lives. Nobody needs your opinion.

Speaker 6 (25:47):
That's why they're saying. Depression and anxiety are so big,
even more so now and especially in the youth of
today because of things like social media where people hide
behind it and can say whatever they want and cause
people harm mentally and physically because then they do things
to themselves and it's it's horrific.

Speaker 24 (26:05):
It drives me insane. And what also drives me insane
is the people who should be your biggest champions aren't.
Like I don't know if you, as as a woman,
see this, but I have a lot of females in
my life and the gay man, I'm surrounded by beautiful
women all the time, and.

Speaker 17 (26:17):
And they say, my God, here we go. I gotta
make it a little.

Speaker 24 (26:21):
Light for a second, but they say some of the
worst comments they get are from other women. As a
gay man, some of the meanest things I've gotten from
people are from gay men, like the people who should
be your biggest champions are not. So we need to
cut it out and realize that you don't know what
someone is going through and just be there for.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Each I'm sorry that I made front of your pipe
blouse when you walked in. I need an outfit change.
Give me your shirt, Elvis, give it to men. You
don't want this, Give it to min this dog of
a shirt look so again.

Speaker 18 (26:47):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
Check out the latest edition of tell Me, Tell Me
the thing You've never told anyone that I always messed
up the name of your vond never said this place.
I've never said this before. That works too, That works me, Dadarie.
I just let's have some fun with you, Okay, I'm ready.
Let's have some fun. Well do this when we come back.
What do we do?

Speaker 6 (27:05):
Let's make him eat something he'd never eat.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
Wrong, Okay, I'll tell you. Also, as you know, Tommy
is super duper health health nut health expert, health enthusiast. Yeah,
he walks in and sees these this candy you have.

Speaker 6 (27:19):
Yeah, so one of our listeners, his name is Matt,
he sent me this because you know, it's all like candy. Corn.
Don't even say anything. This is called simply candy candy corn, crunchies,
freeze dried candy corn. So then Tommy takes the bag
and he looks at the ingredients and yells up there.

Speaker 24 (27:33):
No disrespect, Matt. But I see, I see, you know
yellow five, red three, yellow six. No, No, you don't
want to eat those delicious No, that's like terminal disease
in a bag. I'm sorry, you cannot eat this. I
will be so mad at you do not eat those things.
Hell's ingredients are banned in Europe. For God's sake, I.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
Know we'd not in Europe. And this is why the
country will be free to eat red dye. No stay
away to die. So this is why we don't invite
me to dinner. Am I a buzz killed? The one friend?

Speaker 17 (28:04):
You're like, oh, should we invite him?

Speaker 1 (28:06):
I can't eat.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
We had lunch and we went to a nice Greek
restaurant one day, and I'm like watching everything. I put
it into my mouth because Tommy's over there going this pig. No,
I am not.

Speaker 6 (28:18):
Oh my god, can you eat? What was your answer?

Speaker 17 (28:20):
Well, I said, instead of this, I'll send you a
nice like vegetable platter.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
Lose weight around Tommy hung out non stop.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
You'll have so much fun hanging out non stop and staring. No,
you know what you'll get, you'll gateways. It's like, oh,
Tommy keeps ordering dinner rolls. No, I will give you
dark chocolate. You can have dark. I love dark chocolate.

Speaker 17 (28:43):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
He's my favorite dancer at the club. My god, oh
she was good to Okay, So Tommy, we want to
play password. Have you ever done that? You're gonna have something?
Is he the contestant?

Speaker 1 (28:57):
No, he's gonna be giving clues with us.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
Okay, okay, all right, a right if you get to participate, okay,
all right, So if you want to play password, we
need a person on diamond.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
Diamond.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
Did you like dark chocolate or milk chocolate?

Speaker 5 (29:10):
Which?

Speaker 2 (29:10):
Damnser did you like the best? K?

Speaker 18 (29:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (29:12):
Yeah, baby, yeah yeah. Hey, we need a good contestant
for password, someone with some brain cells left that eliminates
everyone in this room. Okay, and we'd played the theme song,
there we go, it's time for password. Where's your mister
microphone that you're the you're on? You're on? Don't this works?

Speaker 10 (29:36):
Oh my gosh, yeah, we don't really need to do anything.
We just need a lovely contest.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
Just be the host.

Speaker 10 (29:41):
No, that's family feud on the host.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Be the host of password.

Speaker 10 (29:47):
All right, well we need a contested one eight hundred
five five to the right.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
Call one hundred and six five time five and play.

what's up. We play games from time to time, Okay,
and you know what I'm saying, Uh, yes I do.
I'm gonna sit down for this. So we do password
where we give someone clues, they have to tell us
what the word is. It's pretty easy and usually we'll
tell the audience what the word is and we're like

(31:14):
it's giving too much information. Now we're going to make
everyone play, but one contestant can actually win money.

Speaker 17 (31:20):
What line is this?

Speaker 2 (31:21):
Is this a Jeanette? Is that EU Jeanette?

Speaker 5 (31:23):
Yeah? Hello, good morning.

Speaker 25 (31:26):
That's everything in beautiful Howard Beach? Yes, is there a
beach in Howard Beach? Kind of because who what do
you mean?

Speaker 1 (31:36):
Kind ye?

Speaker 6 (31:36):
What does that mean?

Speaker 5 (31:38):
Well, we bordered Jamaica Bay, so there is some sand,
but there's no like real beach.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
Because they say, if you want to make your town
sound more hip and vibey Edward Beach to it, sure
like Flushing Queens can be Flushing Beach. Queens has the
word flushing in it, which is always fun.

Speaker 6 (31:57):
People will be driving around forever looking for that beach.

Speaker 8 (31:59):
Beach.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Anyway, Well, Jeanette, here we go. Our friend Tommy d
Dario is here. He's gonna help us give you clues. Uh,
mister announcer man, how do we play? Where's your microphone?
You have a microphone?

Speaker 1 (32:10):
One works?

Speaker 2 (32:10):
Use that does this work? Okay?

Speaker 10 (32:12):
So basically just go around the room. We're gonna give
one word clues and then you have to figure out
the password.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
Jeanette. Based on these one word clues, it's now time
for passwords.

Speaker 6 (32:23):
He's my favorite song.

Speaker 22 (32:24):

Speaker 2 (32:25):

I think because your camera's not on.

Speaker 2 (33:04):

Speaker 24 (33:05):
My god, it's be a phrase or just okay, you
can only give one word clues.

Speaker 24 (34:35):

through these at somebody melons.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
But it's iconic in that scene. Anyone would have gotten that, right.
But that's not a one word clue. I don't care.
It's a great phrase. That's like a manifesto. It was
a great moment in the show. Okay, because you got melons.
We're doing really well. Okay, Okay, here's okay, here's okay.

(35:05):

Speaker 17 (35:20):
Fries?

Speaker 5 (35:22):
Okay, soft food, Daniel, hair, My god, with fries and hair.

Speaker 17 (35:39):
That's a hard one.

Speaker 18 (35:40):
Yeah, all right.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Tommy, come on, it can't be a phrase.

Speaker 24 (35:48):
It has to be one fine, okay, Uh Annie, okay.

Speaker 17 (35:58):
No, you don't like that one.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
I get it because I'm gay and I love Broadway
Santha Jones and Annie, I'm winning here.

Speaker 23 (36:08):
Yeah, he said Annie, like the movie.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Annie is the clue. So it's Annie and.

Speaker 5 (36:16):

they don't go bad. They're frozen when it's time to
bring one out. I bring one out the day before,
it's ready to go, the day after, ready to go.
They're so happy. They have better poops, they have more energy.
They just you know, and Froggy would agree with me.

Don't answer the phone. Elvis duran Elvis Durand's phone tap?

Speaker 2 (44:15):
I need a phone tap? Yes, Garrett does today's phone tap?
What's going on?

Speaker 1 (44:18):
Garrett?

Speaker 10 (44:18):
Well, Chris wants to phone tap his friend Scott. Now,
Scott had his tooth pulled at the dentist office the
other day and he was freaking out over having the
procedure done. So I'm gonna call Scott from the dentist
office let him know that tooth extraction that he had
didn't go according to plant.

Speaker 17 (44:33):
Oooh, you know what.

Speaker 2 (44:35):
You shouldn't be messing with someone with her teeth.

Speaker 17 (44:37):
Why no, it's a very painful thing.

Speaker 2 (44:39):
All right, let's listen to Garrett's phone tap.

Speaker 16 (44:41):
Here we go.

Speaker 10 (44:41):
Hello, is Scott available, Please speak Hi Scott, I'm calling
from a doctor for a little office and uh, we're
just calling to check up from yesterday.

Speaker 9 (44:53):
Well, I mean, you know, I was a little surprised
that we had to do a tooth extraction, but you know,
I guess you know I haven't gone in a while.

Speaker 10 (44:59):
So what I'm calling to tell you about today is, uh,
we realized that we pulled out the wrong tooth. What
we rarely mess up here, but you know every once
in a while one slips through the you know the cracks.

Speaker 9 (45:14):
Are you pulled out a healthy tooth?

Speaker 2 (45:16):
Yes?

Speaker 17 (45:17):
Yes?

Speaker 10 (45:17):
Uh, what you now, Well, first what we need you
to do is come back in and we could swap
out the teeth. The dentist can easily just get that
tooth back into your mouth and we'll pull out the
one that we need to come out.

Speaker 9 (45:32):
You can do that.

Speaker 10 (45:33):
Have we done it before? No, But we can get
it done though. So yeah, now.

Speaker 9 (45:39):
You're saying you might be able to put it.

Speaker 10 (45:41):
Back, Well again, don't point fingers. I I had nothing
to do with it.

Speaker 2 (45:45):
You did it.

Speaker 9 (45:45):
You just said you did it.

Speaker 10 (45:47):
I didn't do it. The dentist did it, all right.

Speaker 2 (45:49):
I'm just calling okay, all.

Speaker 9 (45:50):
Right, So not you personally, but the dentist screwed it up,
and now you're trying to cover his as well.

Speaker 10 (45:54):
I'm not covering his ass. I'm just saying that.

Speaker 9 (45:56):
I mean, you're doing something. What are you doing? Then
you're calling me right now to say, come in and
another tooth pulled and maybe you can put in my
healthy tooth.

Speaker 10 (46:02):
Well, we will put in your healthy tooth and we'll
take out the one that we we need to take
it just.

Speaker 9 (46:06):
For a second, all right, I'm just saying there's been
a breach of trust. There's got to be more to
it than just that, and it got to be better
than a maybe.

Speaker 10 (46:14):
You keep a rotting tooth in your mouth, all right
and see what happens. All right, I'm trying.

Speaker 9 (46:17):
No, you guys really up. I mean, this is a
serious man.

Speaker 10 (46:21):
It's a learning experience, just as you're learning.

Speaker 9 (46:23):
Your learning experience. What do you mean learning experience?

Speaker 2 (46:25):
Well, next time we'll know what to do.

Speaker 9 (46:28):
I'm going to go to another dentist office because this
this sounds like.

Speaker 10 (46:32):
He's not going to have your tooth. We have your tooth?

Speaker 9 (46:34):
Noaitnt No, women, you cannot do that, man, It's my tooth.
You guys already up? Why would I want you to
try again?

Speaker 10 (46:40):
Well, we're not trying again. We'll get it right this time,
I promise.

Speaker 1 (46:44):
Way play.

Speaker 9 (46:45):
Are you ever coming near my damn mouth again?

Speaker 5 (46:47):
Man?

Speaker 2 (46:47):
Just all right, Jesus is freaking right now.

Speaker 10 (46:51):
All right, So this is what we're gonna do. We're
gonna call him back and you're going to talk to him. Okay,
all right?

Speaker 18 (46:58):
Hello?

Speaker 2 (46:59):
What's some man.

Speaker 9 (47:01):
Dentist? That's what's up?

Speaker 16 (47:02):
Man?

Speaker 9 (47:03):
Yeah, he's great, isn't he? He pulled out the wrong youth, man,
No deal on him right now.

Speaker 11 (47:08):
No, they did that.

Speaker 9 (47:09):
I still got the diseased one in my head. But
just go back and get this other tooth out. Are
you insane? I'm not letting them touch me again.

Speaker 3 (47:17):
Man, I'm just a little mistake, man.

Speaker 9 (47:19):
Not a little mistake.

Speaker 1 (47:20):
It's a youth mistake.

Speaker 9 (47:21):
Man. You could call it your joke on me, right,
This is a joke. You're trying to play a joke
on dude. I am not with you, I know that.
I mean, have you ever heard of me been this
upset before? He's a great Danish dude. You're out of
your mind what you're talking about?

Speaker 23 (47:34):
He didn't you say that.

Speaker 9 (47:35):
I don't cry, man, I'm a grown man. I don't
cry like that. And you know what, I've figured it out.
Why wasn't a campaign? Because I'm a healthy youth man.
That he pulled out of my mouth?

Speaker 22 (47:45):
Let me pulled out?

Speaker 16 (47:47):
Good? You're you really are?

Speaker 17 (47:49):
Man?

Speaker 9 (47:49):
Your Why how did you cry?

Speaker 19 (47:53):
You would do?

Speaker 9 (47:54):
You saw him a bit? I never cried. When they
all get out of here, you cry while you gonna
write everybody.

Speaker 17 (48:04):
Drunk.

Speaker 10 (48:04):
You're the one who's cleaning that perfectly good.

Speaker 9 (48:06):
Dennis pulled out the right.

Speaker 10 (48:10):
Lying about Hey, Scott, Scott Scott, who is my name?
Is Gariff for the Elvis Duran in the morning show.
And you just got phone tapped.

Speaker 9 (48:19):

Speaker 16 (48:23):
No, don't start with me, man, No, no, no, the
free money phone tap thanks to the farmer's dog.

Speaker 25 (48:36):
Hi Catherine, Oh my god?

Speaker 2 (48:40):
Well hello. So earlier I asked a friend of ours
from Howard Beach if there was actually a beach there
in Valley Stream? Is there a stream?

Speaker 23 (48:50):
No, there's just a crappy little lazy pool over here.

Speaker 2 (48:53):
All right, that's the Valley Stream. But it sound so
bucolic and fabulous. So Catherine from Valley Stream, you're a
calling one. You just won a thousand dollars.

Speaker 23 (49:01):
Yeah, yeah, out. Thank you so much, guys. I listened

your day all about?

Speaker 23 (49:21):
Unfortunately I have to work and then I have to
come home and pack some more boxes because we're moving

Speaker 2 (49:27):
Oh are you moving out of Valley Stream.

Speaker 23 (49:30):
Actually, I'm currently moving in Valley Stream. I live at

(50:20):
Is Charlemagne, the god coming in.

Speaker 7 (50:22):
I think so Charlamagne.

Speaker 2 (50:23):
I love it when he comes to visit us. I
like it when he comes in and we have time
to play. I don't know how much time we have today.
We used to play the game called We used to
do a segment called Ask the Gay Men or Ask
the Black Man, and we remember, I have fun. We
had a lot of fun. Maybe if we have time today.
But he has a new book out. It's called Get
Honest or Die Lying. Why small talk sucks? Think about

(50:44):
this for a moment. If you're on an elevator with
someone you know, in your office, whatever you're like, hey,
good morning. Yeah, the sun, it's nice, it's pretty outside.
Small talk, but you have to go do your day.
What if you're having dinner though, with a really good
friend and the conversation is just like mediocre. You talk
talk about the same crap you talk about every single time,
but you don't have meaningful conversations. This book is about that,

(51:06):
and I think it's fascinating. It's something we all should
be learning more about. Charlemagne and you know he will
always tell you what's on his mind with no filter.
We think he's coming in next.

Speaker 12 (51:18):
We need fifteen more minutes of Elvis Duran in the
Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (51:21):
Good God, how'll we cram all these people in one room?

Speaker 12 (51:23):
The fifteen minute Morning Show podcast and extra fifteen minutes
of Elvis. Listen on the iHeartRadio app or wherever you
get your podcasts.

Speaker 3 (51:30):
Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.

Speaker 6 (51:33):
Time is running out to save on your Disney summer vacation. Hey,
it's Danielle and this is the last week to score
adult tickets at child Prizes. You need Undercover touris dot Com.

Speaker 3 (51:43):
Live from the Mercedes Benz Interview Lounge.

Speaker 11 (51:46):
Look at that Mercedes Benz is paying for this whoever
that was playing, I think that she thinks the guy
is a womanizer.

Speaker 17 (51:52):
I know why we got to feel that way.

Speaker 2 (51:53):
That was Britney's spear. Brittany, Yeah, brit Brittany, bitch, what
up Brittany? So Charlemagne the god here? Hi, Charlemagne, what's up? Godfather?
You always bring you always bring this incredible energy into
into our lives.

Speaker 6 (52:08):
Learning a lot about him? Can I say what he
just told that?

Speaker 17 (52:11):
What I said?

Speaker 2 (52:11):
Well, we're looking at his new book which we got
to talk about called Get Honest or Die Lying? Why
small talk sucks? We're not having these meaningful conversations. We
have time to do them, but for some reason we don't.
We're not going down that road. But on the back
is this photo of Charlemagne. And you look damn fine
in this photo and my channeling Mars Chestnut. That's what

(52:32):
I was doing for that's that was my muse in
my brain. And you have this beautiful sweater. Arm took
it back.

Speaker 6 (52:38):
That's what my question was, Wow, I love that sweater.
Do you still have it? And your answer was no.

Speaker 11 (52:42):
The tag was still in it and I took it
back right after the photo shoot. What is the point
of wearing something that expensive in public. That is true,
that's right, you put it on.

Speaker 17 (52:50):
I didn't want to wear it. Put it back of
the book. Actually, but you know it's good.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
Okay. Well, see, we're doing the thing we don't like
to do. We're judging a book by its color. You
know what I'm saying.

Speaker 17 (52:59):
It's the back of the book.

Speaker 2 (53:01):
So okay. So if I get on the elevator to
come up in the morning, you know someone else is
on the elevator. Hey, wow, hot out day. It's a
hot day. They go their separate ways. That happens because
you're with them for us a fleeting moment. But if
I'm out to dinner with someone who I find fascinating,
if I had dinner with you, I don't think I would.
I think I would feel our dinner time together was

(53:21):
a waste if we didn't talk about something that was
meaningful to absolutely, And that's what this book is about.

Speaker 17 (53:26):
That's what the book is about.

Speaker 11 (53:27):
That's why I say why small talk sucks because I hate,
you know, the literal just micro conversations that we have
with each other, like just the meaningless chit chat. But also, man,
we live in this era right now. You have all
of this social media, you have all of these ways
to communicate, but we're really not saying anything. And you know,
you could be at dinner with somebody and just sit
there and you know, oh, how is your day? Oh

(53:49):
you look nice? You know what we're here for. The
dinner is for something, So let's just get to it.

Speaker 2 (53:55):
Well, that's the thing though, for our show, for instance,
versus your show Breakfast Club, you guys go down some
some some great roads and talk about very meaningful things
that affect many people emotionally and politically. We don't do
that on that show.

Speaker 1 (54:09):
No, we don't.

Speaker 8 (54:10):
We do.

Speaker 2 (54:11):
We did fart jokes, and we keep it all simple.

Speaker 17 (54:13):
You can have meaningful far jokes, you can. They're a
lesson to be learned.

Speaker 2 (54:17):
Like I don't fart in my clothes. You don't know, well,
you know when he goes to the bathroom. I know
when Charlomagne's in a stall because all his clothes are
in a pile hanging or hanging up on us. Right,
I get naked, you get totally naked.

Speaker 6 (54:29):
But how do you not what if you feel far
coming on? It comes on right away? You don't know it?

Speaker 2 (54:33):
No, No, no, I have control. I have more control
over my both than that. Look at that years of
practice and rehearsal.

Speaker 17 (54:38):
You can put butt kegles.

Speaker 2 (54:42):
List.

Speaker 16 (54:42):
You know.

Speaker 2 (54:42):
That's the fun thing. We can actually do kegels right
now and we wouldn't even know. Hold on, say I'm.

Speaker 17 (54:48):
Me too. Let me feel by the way, this is
a macro conversation.

Speaker 11 (54:51):
You know why because there's somebody out there dealing with
loose booty and he've been trying to figure out how
not to have.

Speaker 17 (54:55):
A lose booty, and we just talked him buttkeegles.

Speaker 11 (54:57):
Okay, heart, all right, I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
Conversation, What what is it about going through life that
made you go?

Speaker 8 (55:07):
I got it.

Speaker 2 (55:08):
I gotta tell everyone what I'm thinking about these meaningless
conversations we're having because we got We're getting nothing done
by having these conversations.

Speaker 4 (55:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (55:16):
A lot of it is social media because we we
we spend so much time making these micros macros, and
so when there are these big macro issues in the world,
we don't even know how to deal with.

Speaker 2 (55:25):
Examples, give us like a big conversation going on right
now in pop culture or whatever. There's just a what Diddy,
let's talky about ditty. See, I think I think there's
a meaningful conversation. Yeah, but I think that if you
focus on the individual, you'll mix, you'll miss the issue.
And the issue is domestic violence, right.

Speaker 11 (55:39):
The issue is you know, men going out there and
actually doing the work on themselves, so they stopped projecting
that pain and that hurt onto other people. The issue
is patriarchy, right, because when you've got a bunch of
hurt men running around, you know, those hurt men will
hurt people. And if the patriarchy is structured in a
way to where men always feel superior to women, and
that's the type of things that you know they will

(56:00):
do like that. That's the bigger conversation to me than
just you know, focusing on the celebrity of it all.
Because right now, as we're having this discussion, they're a
woman waking up to a man that's that's beating on
her or abusing her right now, and she's not getting
the news coverage and nobody's talking about her. So the
issue we should be talking about is domestic violence, and

(56:21):
you know, men going out there to do the work
on themselves, so they stopped projecting that pain on the
other people.

Speaker 2 (56:25):
Oh and also like changing the subject, he changed the
subject to about him Diddy's did. He came out with
his apology, which was not helping any woman out there.
It was just about him covering his ass because he's
still focused on his brand. Him and his team were
still sitting around focusing on how they can fix the professional.
The professional is over and he should only be thinking

(56:47):
about getting his soul right and getting right you.

Speaker 11 (56:51):
Know, with his family's lineage. That's what he should be
focused on. He shouldn't even be thinking about nothing to do,
nothing to do professionally.

Speaker 2 (56:58):
Also, we should be able to identify what a shadow
conversation is versus a meaningful conversation. For instance, when Diddy
comes out. I'm using this as an example of the moment.
If Diddy comes out apologizing but not really apologizing, it's
really turning it into his spin. We should just move
on and get to the real issue, which is domestic violence.
I let's say you and I go out to dinner
and you see me doing my typical Elvis thing.

Speaker 17 (57:19):
Wow, do you want to go out to dinner?

Speaker 7 (57:20):
Godfather?

Speaker 17 (57:21):
You haven't been to one in a minute?

Speaker 2 (57:22):
Okay, but yeah, yes, I'm you know I'm always out
for Yeah, I have to eat as you say, you
know what, you know what they say about cocktails? Pull
me want to tell me one? Yeah, that's right, that's
an Elvis Duran line. Serve we want to tell me what?
Look though, you want you say, hey, you know, I
know this Elvis has a lot more going on under
the hood than just talking about far jokes. How can

(57:43):
we turn a simple meeting into a meaningful conversation?

Speaker 17 (57:47):
What would you do?

Speaker 2 (57:48):
Like, what would you do to spark that?

Speaker 11 (57:50):
I would just tell you. I would say, hey, man,
I really want to talk to you about something, and
I would get into it. That's why the book is
also called get honus or die line, because we all
wake up every day and we find these ways that
like lied to ourselves. We find these ways, you know,
to mask what's really going.

Speaker 17 (58:03):
On with us.

Speaker 2 (58:05):
Talk about it like y'all are really really close, right,
everybody in this room.

Speaker 11 (58:09):
If you really got something on your mind, just put
it out there, Like if you don't want to come
in and you know, just laugh and joke because you're
trying to deflect from something. And I'm sure Daniel, you've
probably been working with him so long as you know,
when there's actually something.

Speaker 17 (58:21):
Really going on, when there's an underlying issue, right, And.

Speaker 2 (58:24):
She asked me from time to time, but sometimes you're
like me, you like to bury it a cat bos you.

Speaker 11 (58:29):
Know, because when nowadays, I think after COVID, especially when
you ask somebody how they're doing, you better be prepared.

Speaker 2 (58:34):
For that reallyss Oh yeah, So when you sat down
and you asked me how I'm doing, and I'm kiddingly said, oh,
not good, because people will never hear that. I was
ready to hear whatever you have to tell me. I think, actually,
not everything's good, but I have a list of things
that I'm having a little issue with. But don't we
all find absolutely that's right? Okay, But turning a meaningless
conversation into an important conversation, a micro into a macro,

(58:58):
What is the importance behind? What is it doing to
change our trajectory in life? If we can just talk
about peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for an hour? But
why is that wasting our time? Because you're not gonna
learn anything from it. You know, whatever you're dealing with,
you're still probably gonna be dealing with after it's gone.
If I'm not honest with the people that I'm around
about what I'm going through. Those people might have some

(59:20):
resources that they can point me in the right direction,
you know, to actually, you know, get the help I need,
or they might know somebody that can help me with
whatever I'm dealing with. Like, you know, I hate hearing
these stories about somebody that you might have just been with,
laughing joke and having a good time, and then a
couple of weeks later you hear, oh, they committed suicide
or something like that. Not to get that deep with it,
but no, I just don't know.

Speaker 17 (59:41):
You just don't know.

Speaker 11 (59:41):
I don't think we should run from having any important,
heavy conversations with each other. And like, like I said,
I feel like in this we're in an era right
now where we make micros macros, So when the actual
macros come across our desk, we don't know how to
deal with them.

Speaker 17 (59:57):
Are we don't deal with them at all?

Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
This book, excuse me, sorry, paulin this book is taking
us down several different evenues I'm assuming I haven't read
it yet, about how to instigate conversation, Yeah, how to
embark it.

Speaker 17 (01:00:11):
Up, that's right.

Speaker 11 (01:00:11):
I end every chapter with less discuss and I'm giving
people the freedom to simply say, hey, I don't want
to talk about this right now, Like you know, I'm
not interested in having this conversation. I think it's perfectly
okay to sit in silence if you want to. It's
perfectly okay to get on your phone if you want to.
If you're on the plane and you don't feel like
talking to somebody, is perfectly okay to set that boundary

(01:00:33):
and say, hey, I don't feel like discussing this right now,
but if you do want to discuss it, I give
you a whole bunch of topics in that book to
talk about.

Speaker 17 (01:00:40):
And I'm not an expert at anything.

Speaker 11 (01:00:42):
I'm just giving you some things to discuss, and you know,
you put them on the table and y'all continue the conversation.

Speaker 6 (01:00:48):
I like to light the fire or the flame and
then run, like I used to do it at home
with politics. The whole family would be about and I'd say,
what do y'all think about this?

Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
But that's good?

Speaker 6 (01:00:57):
But then I get up and leave it. My father
would say, if you bring that up again, you are
not coming to the table anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
They call that farting on the elevation exactly.

Speaker 17 (01:01:04):
That's what you should do. When you fart, should get
up from the table.

Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
So you bring up politics, let's talk about it. I
love your outlook on the political scene right now. You've
got Biden, You've got Trump, right, you're president Trump, President Biden,
and what And one of the reasons we don't bring
up politics on our show is because in this division,
in this divisive world we live in, divisive divisive either

(01:01:30):
you have to be all left or all right. There
is no there is no crossover. And that's ridiculous. And
if you if you're if you say that Trump did something,
that he said something today that really made sense to me,
that everyone on the left is like, oh, you're a
Trump lover. And and then vice versa with Biden, and
you're saying, this is not the real world, and this
is a great conversation to have with everyone, by.

Speaker 11 (01:01:49):
The way, and you know that if you actually experience
the real world, and if you stay on social media
all day, if you watch cable news all day, you'll
think people are just thinking on those two extremes.

Speaker 6 (01:01:57):
Because especially if that's what you think, that's all that's
gonna hop up on your feet.

Speaker 11 (01:02:00):
Absolutely, But if you actually go out into the world
and you actually talk to people and you have conversations,
you'll see that there are more people who are you know,
in the middle, in the middle of it all, and like,
you know, a lot of people don't even care. Once
again about the individuals. I think we waste so much
time talking about individuals. I don't like either one of
the candidates, right, but I know that I'm voting this

(01:02:22):
year to preserve democracy, right, So I'm going to vote
for the person who I think that can preserve democracy
the best. But I think that we should be talking
about issues, not individuals. If you start talking about individuals,
you're gonna lose every time. As soon as you bring
up Trump, somebody has a reaction to it. So as
you bring up boy and somebody has a reaction to it.
But if you talk about actual issues, all we can
all have a conversation about those.

Speaker 2 (01:02:42):
Yes, there you go, and not be afraid to have conversations.
A lot of people are like I'd rather kind of
tiptoe around that, walking on eggshells, because controversial conversation is
such a downer for a lot of people, maybe because
of where they're from, maybe they're just they don't feel
like they're entitled to give their opinion.

Speaker 11 (01:03:03):
Or maybe because we label people as soon as you
bring something up, like you said earlier, Elvis, if you
just look at something a different way and all of
a sudden you get labeled as something, it's exactly no,
I'm just trying to be objective. I think that you
should be able to see things from somebody else perspective.
I think you should go out of your way to
try to see things from somebody else's perspective. At times,
I'm loving the text messages. I think they're still kind

(01:03:25):
of they're just talking about domestic violence from the day
conversation earlier. But you know, if ever we talk about
anything political in the show, the text message is just flame.
They go up, they don't talk about it. Y'all are humans?
Y'all gonna vote? Y'all, y'all pay attention to social issues?
Well absolutely, Elvis, you are a walking social issue.

Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
Me my god, finding someone figured me out. I just
want to have we gotten soft as a society, and
if so, why why we repair them?

Speaker 6 (01:03:55):
Because everything is offensive? If everything's offensive, nothingsive.

Speaker 17 (01:03:58):
Everything is offensive.

Speaker 11 (01:03:59):
Everybody sensitive because we're just afraid to have conversations like
we should be allowed to sit down and agree to disagree.
We should be able to have differences but still have
respect for each other. Like I shouldn't, you know, disrespect
you just because I disagree with you.

Speaker 2 (01:04:15):
And that's literally what I'm say that again, because this
is this is the bumper sticker everyone should have. If
you have bumper stickers or bumper say that again, I
should be able to disagree with you without disrespecting exactly.
But you see, we know it because we're dealing with
millions of people at a at a crawl, right. There

(01:04:36):
are so many people that will don't burn your house down,
they will get tortues. The villagers will come up to
your castle and burn her such a doctor, Franks.

Speaker 11 (01:04:44):
It's ridiculous. And that's that's literally what this book is for.
Get an honest or dieline, Why small talk stufs. I'm
just here to open up conversation and I want all
of us to start being honest with ourselves because I
feel like we wake up every day and we put
on these masks, right, and we put on these fronts
for society, and we end up lying to ourselves and
volunteering those lies to other people. How can we survive

(01:05:06):
as a coach like that? How can we survive in
a society like that with everybody just lying to each other?

Speaker 2 (01:05:10):
Well, and when it's time, when it's your turn to
like go, that's what you're gonna look back on, a
life of me just walking around with a mask on,
because beneath that mask is the real person.

Speaker 11 (01:05:19):
And then when when you're gone, people start, you know,
digging into your life and they'd be like, Wow, I
didn't know that person was into that.

Speaker 17 (01:05:24):
I didn't know they was into that. I didn't know
they felt that way. I didn't let they felt that.

Speaker 11 (01:05:26):
Way because you didn't know me, because you didn't take
the time to get the real know me, because you
scared me into wearing a mask my whole life.

Speaker 2 (01:05:33):
It's a two way thing. Though I didn't tell you
about me and you didn't ask about me. That's right.
So this is where we gotta like turn the key.
I need to be asking about you and you need
to be able to tell me.

Speaker 11 (01:05:44):
And you gotta be willing to deal when I when
I say hey, how are you, and I tell you
how I really am, you gotta be willing to accept that.
You gotta be willing to accept all that comes with
that right.

Speaker 2 (01:05:55):
The book is get Honest or Die Lying, Why small
talk sucks Charlemagne the God. Yes, And I'm gonna read
that title again in a second. I want everyone to
buy us.

Speaker 11 (01:06:03):
Yes, And I'll be at I'll be at Barnes and
Nobles today and on New York and New York on
Fifth Avenue at one pm. And then I'll be at
Barnes and Noble in Paramus at five pm signing copies of.

Speaker 2 (01:06:14):
The book tour. I forgot how that that was a
lot of fun.

Speaker 17 (01:06:16):
Books are fun when you do.

Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
When you do a book tours, people come out and
they really want to connect with you.

Speaker 11 (01:06:22):
I love that though, Like this is why I love
doing morning radio and I love writing books and stuff
because we actually get to talk to people. So being
that we actually get to talk to people, we understand
what people are really feeling. So a lot of times
I get in trouble for simply, you know, reflecting what
I've seen and heard people say, just having conversations with him,
Like the regular everyday constituents that these politicians.

Speaker 17 (01:06:42):
Want, you know, want want want to want people want
them to vote.

Speaker 11 (01:06:46):
We get to talk to them every day, Like right now,
you got all of those questions coming in through your
you know, your chat, and you get to talk to
those people. You are anything on the front lines of
American society.

Speaker 2 (01:06:57):
Well you have to go and I'll tell you why. Okay,
loving Charlemagne, Sorry Elvis, you just lost a listener in me.
I'm jumping on the Charlemagne bandwagon.

Speaker 17 (01:07:04):
Oh just flip back and forth.

Speaker 2 (01:07:06):
Now they gave three hearts, said joke. He'll never lose me. Jesus.
I got to ask you one more question for you.
Why is it when we have beautiful catering and lots
of food out here, we always invite the breakfast club
and all the producers up to eat. When you guys
get food, we are never ever informed. It's the This

(01:07:28):
is why Gandhi Gandhi is not here today. She wants
me to ask you this question.

Speaker 11 (01:07:31):
I always say, go invite Elvis the specifically because y'all
always have are.

Speaker 6 (01:07:35):
And invite they don't listen.

Speaker 11 (01:07:37):
Wow, but you know I did tell Max start stop
embarrassing us. You know, Big Mac is like six five.

Speaker 17 (01:07:42):
I love him.

Speaker 2 (01:07:42):
He comes down, He'll come down and eat.

Speaker 11 (01:07:45):
Of course, he's four hundred pounds but he's embarrassing. He
comes down here and he does too much. I'm like,
come on, Mac, I stop.

Speaker 2 (01:07:51):
He can take all he wants.

Speaker 6 (01:07:52):
She's the happiest person and they I love talking and
he's so happy.

Speaker 21 (01:07:56):
But don't know the walking stereotype. Mac said the words.
Don't act like it just because there's food there. You
almost said the word jolly. Do not use the word
jaw dolly brown giant.

Speaker 6 (01:08:15):
Seen him now, I'm gonna call him jolly brown.

Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
Brown giant. No, look, no, no, no, I don't. I
don't know what you're telling your people now. No, they're
not coming in there and telling. But when we've got
a buffet, we're always I.

Speaker 17 (01:08:28):
Do tell them all the time. I got to make
sure reader, you need.

Speaker 2 (01:08:31):
To take charge down there.

Speaker 6 (01:08:32):
Man, you need to tell them to read that damn book.

Speaker 2 (01:08:34):
This this buffet thing has me just pissed off.

Speaker 5 (01:08:37):
I got you.

Speaker 2 (01:08:38):
I promise next time and you can get a good food.
I'll come and tell you myself. I always do.

Speaker 11 (01:08:42):
I tell Diamond all the time, Diamond, Diamond, I tell
her all the time. Now we'd be having food down there.

Speaker 6 (01:08:49):
You've never.

Speaker 1 (01:08:52):
Diamond the book.

Speaker 2 (01:08:55):
Why would you lie like that? Have you heard the
new book from Charlene called Lies Lies, and that's the
next one. All the crap I've been lying about lying
to the Z one of the Morning show.

Speaker 11 (01:09:07):
You know, so I do talk about how you know,
I'm not gonna say I'll be lying to my therapist,
but I mean when I go to therapy, I haven't
been completely honest.

Speaker 17 (01:09:15):
Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (01:09:16):
So you just had a nerve with me because when
I was in therapy, I directed those conversations in order
to get the answer I wanted.

Speaker 17 (01:09:22):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly what exactly.

Speaker 11 (01:09:25):
That's I went on a spiritual retreat back in February,
me and my wife and one of the things that
came up for me was stop lying to yourself and
stop volunteering those lies to other people. And it's like,
it's not like I'm lying to my therapist. I'm just
I'm not telling them everything, telling them that's enough. Like
you said, directing the conversation to hear what I want
to hear.

Speaker 2 (01:09:44):
That's lying. It is eliminating is lying.

Speaker 17 (01:09:48):
You just made me accept an uncomfortable truth.

Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
Accept that, and I also accept the fact that you
guys aren't bringing your catering down next tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (01:09:59):
What do you have tomorrow?

Speaker 16 (01:10:00):
What?

Speaker 2 (01:10:00):
I don't know, but I'm gonna make sure that we
got catering, just to tell you I'm here. I'm here
to hers that we have it down. Yeah, I'm here tomorrow.
I got you some mac and cheese. Will be nice
that you want some soulful I do?

Speaker 17 (01:10:09):
I got easy?

Speaker 9 (01:10:09):
Have you been?

Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
That's my ma.

Speaker 11 (01:10:15):
Been holding me down for a long time because I
used to have her cater at my my TV show
and I have my TV shows a central. But also
after my wife had her, had our children, she would
cater like these. She would do like these meal preps
for my wife so my wife didn't.

Speaker 17 (01:10:30):
Have to cook.

Speaker 6 (01:10:31):
I've been doing a nice husband.

Speaker 17 (01:10:33):
I think I've learned. I'm trying.

Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
My friend Island, she's getting finally, she's getting massive, massive
you because of you, absolutely no, no, no, don't change
that no. New York The New York Times, I read
that it's because of her, because she she dips that
love and everything.

Speaker 17 (01:10:52):
And very very clairvoyant. She is very very wead to
get rid of.

Speaker 2 (01:10:56):
I had to get out of here. She's wasting. I
used to changer name, but Claire all right, So Charlamage
the god always, always wonderful to have you here. Love you,
get honest or die lying Why small talk sucks? And
now we learn even your small talking to yourself sucks.

Speaker 17 (01:11:12):
That's the worst part. Stop lying to yourself.

Speaker 11 (01:11:14):
Stop small talking to yourself, man, Start start talking big,
start thinking big, and more importantly, stop lying to yourself
and stop volunteering those lives other people.

Speaker 2 (01:11:23):
One word for you, catering. Don't beat my donkey of
a day.

Speaker 17 (01:11:30):
Now, man, Please get Elvis some food.

Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
I don't make sure you eat my boobies are boobies?
Are touching my knee?

Speaker 6 (01:11:39):

Speaker 18 (01:11:41):
Sure?

Speaker 2 (01:11:42):
Get Elvis some nice soul for I'm the jelly white
giant Charlamae. We love you, Go do your show and leans.

Speaker 7 (01:11:52):
Down there like he's late.

Speaker 1 (01:11:53):
Lay, you're gonna get out of here.

Speaker 2 (01:11:55):
We're gonna can you ask? Get out of here?

Speaker 8 (01:11:58):
Love you.

Speaker 2 (01:11:59):
He's going to wrong way. It's faster this way, is it?

Speaker 16 (01:12:01):
Man?

Speaker 1 (01:12:02):
He cuts through the back. We have a back Oh yeah,
oh yeah, we have a secret door.

Speaker 6 (01:12:06):
I didn't know about that secret door till recently. And
I go, where are these people going? And then I
followed somebody and I'm like, oh my gosh, I didn't
even know this was here.

Speaker 2 (01:12:15):
It's a maze of rats and we're the rats. Callum Scott.
I believe he's gonna be on in a few minutes.
Loved his music since we heard that very first song,
and he brought it to us from across the ocean.
And uh, he's just a great guy and I have
to ad mention something to him on the air.

Speaker 6 (01:12:31):
Oh is this from Charlemagne's book? You're not gonna lie anymore, not.

Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
Gonna lie anymore. The live stop right here, all right,
So I don't know if he's on next or note.
No one tells me anything. Do you have Do you
have a producer today? Nate, He's coming on before we're
leaving today. Put it that way, all right. We got
to take the break, Gandhi, if you're wandering, we'll be
back tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (01:12:56):
Elvister ran in the morning show time is running out
to stay on your.

Speaker 6 (01:13:00):
Disney summer vacation. Hey, it's Danielle and this is the
last week to score adult tickets at child prices. You
need Undercover Tourists dot Com Live from the Mercedes Benz
Interview Lounge.

Speaker 2 (01:13:16):
All right, so my friend Callum Scott, our friend Callum Scott,
is here, but I didn't bring him in now because
I want him to walk into the studio. So Danielle
will do that offensive thing she always does, she sniffs
our guests. The reason why I want you to sniff
him is he smells really.

Speaker 6 (01:13:30):
Good today, so excited.

Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
Okay, I sniffed him earlier.

Speaker 6 (01:13:33):
Nobody smells better than Jason Drulo.

Speaker 2 (01:13:35):
This is a totally different said, please welcome the scented
Callum Scott. We got stuff to talk about here. Danielle
has to sniff cal Yes, I pre sniffed him for you.
She sniffs the guests. You don't have to like there
you go. I know, isn't that nice?

Speaker 20 (01:13:52):
I know?

Speaker 8 (01:13:53):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
Very lovely?

Speaker 16 (01:13:54):
What is that?

Speaker 7 (01:13:56):
Best off? To shave them? Serious?

Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
He smells good. It's almost kind of a floral thing.

Speaker 6 (01:14:02):
I smell like him.

Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
Now, now you got straight native, He's not so straight anymore.

Speaker 7 (01:14:06):
Look at that.

Speaker 4 (01:14:12):
You did.

Speaker 2 (01:14:13):
You're coming here in sex, so you change everyone's pronouns
and things. You're awesome, I have. I haven't seen you
in so long.

Speaker 7 (01:14:20):
It's been too long, mine too long.

Speaker 2 (01:14:22):
And I said I and I'm going to do it.
I'm going to admit something to count on the air.
The last time we hung out, we had dinner years
ago whatever. That was such a great dinner. It was
it was beautiful, it was awesome. We talked about your mom. Yeah,
and this is when you started. You're just really getting
rolling across the pond over here in the United States,
and this was all kind of it was back the

(01:14:43):
new to you, right. And I always said, hey, if
you need for me to talk to your mom, make
sure she's she's feeling comfortable with you over here without
her and whatever. It was great. Look, the one I
wanted to admit to you is I actually got a
tear in my eye where you talk to me about
maybe ever text the first time you could really take
your family on a vacation, you went to I think

(01:15:05):
Greece or something. Yeah, I remember that, Yeah, and you
you were just so proud that you could do this
for your family and now your niece or nephew, right,
and it's I was like, wow, his life has changed,
and I was there to watch it change.

Speaker 7 (01:15:21):
He's so sweet. And you know what, earlier this year
I was able to do that again.

Speaker 27 (01:15:24):
I helped my mum retire early and we bought our
house and and you know what I said this to everybody.
My mom has had to sacrifice so much for me
growing up, and she's always been there and she's always
been present that it just feels like that's the right
thing to do.

Speaker 7 (01:15:39):
I've got to look after him because she looked after me.

Speaker 28 (01:15:41):
You know.

Speaker 7 (01:15:41):
I love that. God just bringing the sensitivity in this morning.

Speaker 2 (01:15:46):
Can you smell good? So you know Daniel's husband is
from Brighton.

Speaker 6 (01:15:50):
Yeah, he's right, So she knows that.

Speaker 2 (01:15:52):
She knows the Britman telligence very He's.

Speaker 6 (01:15:54):
Actually in Leeds right now because my son goes to
college in Leeds and plays football there, and they're bringing
him home for the summer.

Speaker 7 (01:16:00):
God's is like a stone throw from where I live,
Is it really?

Speaker 2 (01:16:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (01:16:04):
Like a fifty minute drive.

Speaker 6 (01:16:05):
I love it there. It's so pretty, it's great, it's great.

Speaker 7 (01:16:07):
Brighton's a great night out though.

Speaker 2 (01:16:08):
Oh yeah, bright people are crazy. So it's funny thing
how she met him, Sheldon, I met him first. I'm like,
this guy's gay.

Speaker 6 (01:16:17):
Yeah, he like because he likes he liked Broadway shows
and he cooks really well, so.

Speaker 2 (01:16:22):
He likes Shirley what's your name?

Speaker 6 (01:16:25):
But he found out he didn't wasn't gay. He passed
him over.

Speaker 2 (01:16:29):
You could have it.

Speaker 7 (01:16:32):
What's the what's wrong with me?

Speaker 26 (01:16:33):
Then?

Speaker 7 (01:16:33):
I don't like Broadway and I can't cook?

Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
Can you decorate a healthy I'm straight. I'm gonna walk
out here like you know what.

Speaker 10 (01:16:41):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:16:42):
I don't know any show tunes. I'll tell you a
story about about count now I remember our friend is
it in you.

Speaker 16 (01:16:52):
The song?

Speaker 2 (01:16:56):
I'll get to that story in a minute. All right,
So you take care of your mom. You're doing really well.

Speaker 17 (01:17:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
Now it all started with I know you get tired
of playing this story over and over and over. It
was Britain's got talent, right, Your sister, she was the
one that was to win this thing, and you came
in there and just kind of put your hand on
her face and shoved her off the stead.

Speaker 7 (01:17:15):
It's my time now, you know what.

Speaker 27 (01:17:18):
My sister, she's a bless her because she had to
put up with me coming home and being like, oh,
I just got a message from Neo and from Ashton
Kutcher and Little Mix and all these guys, and she
you could tell she was just like great, but but
but I bought our car.

Speaker 7 (01:17:32):
So at the end of the day she wins.

Speaker 6 (01:17:34):
There you go, I would like to be part of
your family.

Speaker 2 (01:17:38):
Yes, please hear me, welcome, thank you. I can't cook
for you, I can't see she tunes with you. So
the song came out in our friend Joe Rainy God
rest his soul, brought in. Got a story about this song.
Listen to his voice and then we'll get into it.
And so he pushed play by friend the song that
started at all this.

Speaker 7 (01:18:02):
Does she love the knocker?

Speaker 2 (01:18:05):
So Joe walks in and says, hey, what's unique about
the song is he Big Black Sky is singing about
a guy he's into who's dancing with a girl on
the dance floor and he's standing in the shadows and watching.
He says, well, that's really the original song. Well it's
a twist. It's a guy lusting for a guy in

(01:18:28):
that lustful way you do.

Speaker 7 (01:18:31):
In the commn the dock.

Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
And so Joe's playing this song.

Speaker 1 (01:18:37):
For me watch you kiss her?

Speaker 2 (01:18:40):
And I feeling Joe with us. I love him, he
was a good friend of ours.

Speaker 15 (01:18:43):
And then he hits this, I'm right over here, why
g ain't you seeing me? And then here he goes
he flies and I'm giving a man.

Speaker 1 (01:18:55):
I'm not the guy say you get home.

Speaker 6 (01:19:02):
A key dancing.

Speaker 2 (01:19:05):
I don't know if you remember. It was late night,
I was texting. I texted you, I said, God, I
heard the song again on the radio today for the
fifty thousandth time. I mean, does it still hit you
yeah the way it hits me?

Speaker 27 (01:19:16):
Yeah, every time, every time, Because it's a song that
has changed my life. And I was I was obviously
a massive Robin fan as well. But then just my
interpretation of it, and like you said, me being I've
experienced and requited love who hasn't And I think me
relating to that and putting my own twist on the song,
it's just it's changed my life, you know. And I've
had the opportunity to speak with Robin and I've said

(01:19:37):
the same to her. I'm like, I cannot tell you
how much your music has helped everyone. But then it's
also transformed my life. Who wrote it, Robin and a
guy called Patrick Berger. So Robin's mom has a new
Cartero thanks to Kelly.

Speaker 7 (01:19:52):
I was just looking after her mom.

Speaker 2 (01:19:54):
So you know what you're talking about, buying your mom
a house and taking him on trips. There is something
that Callum does after he finishes an album, he buys
himself a gift. He's got a nice watch. How many
watches do you know?

Speaker 1 (01:20:07):
How me on?

Speaker 7 (01:20:07):
Well, I got I got like I got two or
three nice watches.

Speaker 2 (01:20:11):
But you're taking care of yourself.

Speaker 7 (01:20:13):
Yes, every now and again. I treat myself friends and
family first, and then me that.

Speaker 2 (01:20:20):
Daniel what do we get.

Speaker 3 (01:20:23):
Bringing the roll?

Speaker 6 (01:20:24):
Guys?

Speaker 3 (01:20:25):
Bring in?

Speaker 2 (01:20:28):
Oh I got I just snotted along my please, Oh
my god. But pollen, Oh my god. We have so
many allergies going. The body is a god It's a
god awful instrument, most of it is. I don't know
if you knew this, Danielle, because your buddy at Sharon
of course, at Barkley Center tonight, weren't you?

Speaker 5 (01:20:51):
Were you?

Speaker 6 (01:20:51):
I saw this year and I think you opened for
him there I did.

Speaker 27 (01:20:55):
I've been opening for him across Asia since January, and
then we finished up in my India, which was crazy,
and then we got back out on the road from
June to September.

Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
Isn't he a lovely guy? He is the best.

Speaker 7 (01:21:06):
He is so funny.

Speaker 27 (01:21:08):
It's like there's a couple of people I've met in
the industry which I just exactly the same as I'd
imagine them on is Leono the Wish, absolute diamond and
there's that sharing.

Speaker 7 (01:21:16):
They're just they're exactly how you expect them to be,
just very family oriented.

Speaker 6 (01:21:20):
And he's never changed. I think he's always been nice
from day one to now. He's never changed.

Speaker 27 (01:21:25):
And he's so still hungry. He's still so hungry for
for like, not even success, but just to do what
he does. You know, he writes the song every day.

Speaker 7 (01:21:34):
Look if I write one every month, So Ed, I
don't even remember.

Speaker 2 (01:21:39):
He was on trial downtown in Manhattan where he was
accused of plagiarism on music. Do you remember that? And
he said, of course that that verdict came out the
day before. He was going to sit in that chair
with us. We're like, oh god, I hope there's a
good verdict here, because he he ain't coming down town anyway.
He said, if they find me guilty, I am quitting

(01:22:01):
this business. I'm not gonna write a song ever again.
Well but you know what they they bought. They bought
everything he said, and they totally agreed with him. So
the next morning he was he was as happy as
we got a great interview. Yeah, I bet, I bet
next time you win a civil trial, come on it.
It would be a lot better than this is an
interview today.

Speaker 7 (01:22:24):
I'm just gonna.

Speaker 27 (01:22:25):
Pretend I didn't have you know, well though, I think
just in his defense I'll say is that, you know,
there's only so many cards, there's only so.

Speaker 7 (01:22:32):
Many melodies, and I mean, you know him, he would
have never have done anything.

Speaker 2 (01:22:37):
Never, never, But you know people who want money. If
you're just turning this on, it's Callum Scott his new single,
we got to talk about this. It's called Then There
Was You. Now, this is pretty cool. It's are you?
Is that a cocktail? What are you drinking?

Speaker 5 (01:22:52):
Do you know what?

Speaker 7 (01:22:53):
It's the most like, bougie, I'm drinking a protein shake.

Speaker 6 (01:22:56):
That's good.

Speaker 2 (01:22:56):
Protein's good for you.

Speaker 7 (01:22:57):
I'm just just going straight from here to the gym.

Speaker 6 (01:23:00):
Wait, it's purple though, what is.

Speaker 7 (01:23:05):
Radioactive? It's a it's a very it's a very protein shake.

Speaker 2 (01:23:09):
Okay, goodbyes. So okay, So this song we're about to play,
Then There Was You, is on the soundtrack for Garfield.
A lot of stars involved in this, the voices of stars, right, yeah.

Speaker 23 (01:23:24):
And so.

Speaker 2 (01:23:26):
They always usually put the great songs from the soundtrack
on at the tail end and the credits of the
of the film, and you were telling Nate like, God,
it's just no one's going to know it's even there.
It's like, it's at the end of the film.

Speaker 6 (01:23:39):
Yeah, that's like the biggest song of the film.

Speaker 2 (01:23:41):
And you didn't know that. I mean, you're actually in it,
you know that.

Speaker 27 (01:23:45):
I did, right, Okay, I did know this, But my
mother just like, oh, You've got a song in the film.
And I'm like, oh my god, it's in the film.
And then I'm like where is it.

Speaker 2 (01:23:54):
He's like, it's the end.

Speaker 6 (01:23:56):
Yeah, And I was like, okay, but you have to
know that nowadays, most people don't leave during the credits
because a lot of movies now do like bonus scene, right,
So you may have everybody's full attention, right maybe.

Speaker 27 (01:24:11):
Yeah, that's especially the Marvel fans out there. They know
that there's a there's like a little scene from the sequel.

Speaker 6 (01:24:16):
They're gonna be a Garfield sequel.

Speaker 4 (01:24:18):
Who knows.

Speaker 7 (01:24:18):
You'll have to watch the credits. I'm ready.

Speaker 19 (01:24:26):
So it's not technically in the film, right, This is
what I said, is the end. It is in the
film until until the very last frame. It's still the
film okay, all right.

Speaker 6 (01:24:43):
Is in the film in the Titanic, wasn't it the
Celine Dion?

Speaker 2 (01:24:46):
At the end, Sinn's done pretty well, Yeah, she got
a new watch. She goes after that, she's okay, so
you had to go dinner. I set you up my
into the restaurant.

Speaker 7 (01:25:00):
God's so good.

Speaker 27 (01:25:01):
The food was just delicious. Everything they brought out. I
was just absolutely inhaling it down. It's delicious.

Speaker 2 (01:25:07):
Well, I said to him, I said, look, Callum Scott,
big deal, bring it, bring out those.

Speaker 6 (01:25:12):
You know it's it's Did you tell him about the
song at the endry movie?

Speaker 7 (01:25:15):
They tell us guy with the song at the end
of the movie.

Speaker 2 (01:25:18):
I see it's end the movie, which sounds like end.

Speaker 7 (01:25:23):
Yes, I did have the giant cheeses.

Speaker 1 (01:25:26):
Delicious.

Speaker 2 (01:25:29):
It's like a big ass cheese it. So the restaurant
is Gray Wind, it's near uh Hudson. We'll see you
back to lourin place next time anyway, and then so
tomorrow morning, okay, well we'll get back to Ede. Shearing
opening up for edge sharing. Okay, so you've got to
travel the world India, I mean, you travel the world.
You're opening for arguably the biggest concerts of the season.

Speaker 1 (01:25:52):
There you are.

Speaker 2 (01:25:53):
Did you ever stay and watch him? I mean after
you got off stage. I mean you can actually go
out and catch a film or something like that.

Speaker 7 (01:26:00):
You discards the end of the Garfield movie.

Speaker 11 (01:26:02):
You're good.

Speaker 2 (01:26:07):
Technically you could say that Ed Shearon was at the
end of the column Scott performance. Would you ever just
kind of stay backstages to kind of watch the show?

Speaker 16 (01:26:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:26:17):
You saw it a lot.

Speaker 27 (01:26:18):
Yeah, we saw maybe like seven six seven times meet
and the bad and then when you get family and
friends over, you watch it again and you watch it
through a new paradise.

Speaker 7 (01:26:27):
But he's just so good.

Speaker 6 (01:26:29):
You're not at the Barclays tonight with him, are you?

Speaker 25 (01:26:31):
I'm not.

Speaker 2 (01:26:31):
He has a reason to get up early too. It
is all mad about this.

Speaker 7 (01:26:35):
Yeah, I'm going to the to the Today Show.

Speaker 6 (01:26:37):
That's awesome.

Speaker 7 (01:26:38):
I'm sorr. It's like a four am getto Yeah. I'm
an old man now. I can't get up.

Speaker 6 (01:26:43):
Shut up, shut up.

Speaker 2 (01:26:45):
I turned I turned sixty in August?

Speaker 8 (01:26:47):
Can you?

Speaker 7 (01:26:47):
You did know?

Speaker 2 (01:26:48):
I was not August yet? I will?

Speaker 21 (01:26:51):
You are not?

Speaker 6 (01:26:52):
You doesn't want anything either for his big birthday? What
are we gonna do now?

Speaker 2 (01:26:56):
When you're I'm not kidding. When you're my age, you
forget how you are. If someone asks you, you're like uh,
and you have to use a calculator and figure it out.
I do anyway. So yeah, Hoda Hoda and Jama the host,
they're very good friends of mine. Tell him, I said, Hi,
I will. They'll treat you nice too early. Okay, I
gotta play this song. Are we done? Is he leaving?

(01:27:16):
I don't know what? Do you have other things to
do to?

Speaker 7 (01:27:18):
I mean, I'll just stay here in co host all day.

Speaker 2 (01:27:20):
You could, no, you'll host. I believe it. The giant
cheese it okay at Gray Wind. It's a cheese it
but it's giant, it's huge, It's it's the it's the
largest cheese that I've ever eaten.

Speaker 7 (01:27:32):
Yeah, it's like the cheese is drunk. My protein shake is.

Speaker 6 (01:27:35):
It's a counterbel It's very toasty, too delicious.

Speaker 2 (01:27:38):
I want to play that. Wait, we have texts. I
absolutely love Callum Scott, my husband, and my final dance
song on our wedding day was Dancing on my Own,
which is kind of weird. It's kind of a sad song.
Would you dance with this?

Speaker 27 (01:27:49):
I know when people say, like most people will dance
to you. The reason, Yeah, if they're going to use
a Compscot song, put dunce it on my own feels
a little bit counts productive. I want to be with
you for the rest of my life of dancing on
my own. It's gonna be a great mar I'm very
I'm very grateful.

Speaker 7 (01:28:05):
Thank you for using that.

Speaker 2 (01:28:06):
Also, they're bringing up the Phillies.

Speaker 7 (01:28:09):
Oh my god, I cannot tell you how much I
am in love with Philadelphia.

Speaker 2 (01:28:12):
Okay, well, okay, so tell the story. Philadelphia loves him
the Texas. His song became the song with the Phillies
locker room for the last two years. Oh my god,
you're in a locker room with yeah, guys. I mean
I wasn't, unfortunately, but no.

Speaker 26 (01:28:24):
The thing.

Speaker 27 (01:28:24):
The thing with the Phillies is they took Dancing on
my Own the Testa remix, and so they started playing
the song as a celebration, and then they had the
whole season where they played it and all the fans
loved it and they loved it and that was great.
And then the second season they usually retired the song
right the next season and they started playing something else,
and they were having some rotten look and then one

(01:28:45):
of the guys was like, you have to bring back
Dance on my own, so they played it and they
started winning again.

Speaker 3 (01:28:49):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (01:28:49):
So like for two seasons they.

Speaker 27 (01:28:50):
Started playing that song and we were so desperate to
go over. But we are so respectful, but baseball is
a little bit superstitious.

Speaker 7 (01:28:59):
So I just like, listen. I would love to come
over and perform the songbook. It's when the players want
me there.

Speaker 17 (01:29:04):
Yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 7 (01:29:06):
So if you're a Philly's found and you're listening, I
was wanting to come. He's just a guy.

Speaker 2 (01:29:10):
By the way. I don't know if you know this,
but Philadelphia fans in general, for all their sports are
the roughest crowd, the hard I mean one year we
were we were at a game, Eagles game, Santa Claus.
I believe it was an Eagles game. Santa Claus came
out on the field and they were throwing batteries at it.
It's Santa Claus.

Speaker 1 (01:29:28):
And I went there wearing a Giant's jersey during the
playoffs and I was left out of this.

Speaker 3 (01:29:34):
Why did you do that?

Speaker 2 (01:29:35):
Because it was frigging mind But.

Speaker 6 (01:29:38):
You're in Philadelphia A little disrespectful.

Speaker 2 (01:29:41):
Anyway, yeah, so when you did, uh, you're the reason
with with Leona. Yeah, yeah, she's incredible.

Speaker 7 (01:29:51):
Man, she's so.

Speaker 2 (01:29:54):
I saw like a connection between you two on the video. Yeah.

Speaker 17 (01:29:56):
Maybe I am straight.

Speaker 7 (01:29:58):
I'm gonna come out of this loom straight, just some bumble.

Speaker 2 (01:30:02):
Just that's what we do, people straight. We're all about
the conversion here, You're come in one way. I'm afraid
to leave the road. The version spots this one friend,

(01:30:23):
sounds like you're singing in a shower and get in
the Phillies locker room. If you were texting it and
asking me if I'm drunk, I'm not.

Speaker 6 (01:30:35):
Having fun.

Speaker 2 (01:30:36):
Kendley, guy, have fun. You'll be accused of being a drunk.
I'm a drunk, but not now.

Speaker 11 (01:30:41):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 2 (01:30:42):
It kicks in right yesterday, It just kicks in.

Speaker 7 (01:30:45):
Kick, just comes in.

Speaker 2 (01:30:47):
Here, we go, here we are.

Speaker 7 (01:30:48):
You're right?

Speaker 2 (01:30:48):
Can you handle it?

Speaker 16 (01:30:53):
So?

Speaker 2 (01:30:54):
Why do they choose this? It seems like an odd
song to play for a baseball team?

Speaker 27 (01:31:00):
Yeah, I mean people playing at weddings, people playing at
baseball games.

Speaker 7 (01:31:04):
I don't know, I don't know just where everybody's feeling
the vibe.

Speaker 2 (01:31:07):
Just don't question it.

Speaker 8 (01:31:07):
Just let.

Speaker 2 (01:31:09):
All right, we got to play the song from Garfield. Yes,
then there was You, Then there was You. It's a
nice upbeat song.

Speaker 7 (01:31:17):
It's very cute.

Speaker 2 (01:31:17):
It's it's cute.

Speaker 7 (01:31:18):
Yes, it's cute.

Speaker 27 (01:31:19):
Because we got the brief and they were like, this
first time I've ever written for a movie. And they
were like, here's the brief. It's about Garfield. But I
would stop, stop everything. This is how that happened.

Speaker 2 (01:31:28):
To walk us through the process of being asked to
write a song for a film. It's more than just
I mean, there's there's details here.

Speaker 27 (01:31:35):
Go Yeah, yeah, I mean I've always been wanting My
dream is to write for a Bond song.

Speaker 2 (01:31:40):
Oh I think that would be and I'm putting out
there into the universe. Don't you wish you were like
thirty years older you could have written the theme for Octopussy,
especially now my new sexual orientation. Hey, there's nothing to
do with that.

Speaker 7 (01:31:56):
I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding.

Speaker 2 (01:31:57):
Did you ever see that film?

Speaker 7 (01:31:58):
I didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:31:59):
It's all you're you're a Bond fan. He has seen
Octopus that you've seen and haven't you?

Speaker 7 (01:32:03):
Of course I'm not seen.

Speaker 6 (01:32:03):
Who would you like to be the next Bond?

Speaker 2 (01:32:05):
Do you have any I I thought I thought would
make any incredible, okay, because he's a great he's great
in Luther, and I think he would.

Speaker 7 (01:32:14):
I think he would make it perfect.

Speaker 17 (01:32:15):
But I don't know.

Speaker 27 (01:32:16):
I've had little rumors that it's going to be somebody else.
I don't know if I can say, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:32:22):
Why can't you say.

Speaker 7 (01:32:24):
It's in malicious rumors?

Speaker 17 (01:32:27):
Again?

Speaker 2 (01:32:28):
Yes, yeah, why you're like, I don't think I can
tell you. We cannot tell Callum Scott anything ever. Again,
he's on the Elvis ray boarding so giving away.

Speaker 7 (01:32:38):
I didn't know you were.

Speaker 2 (01:32:39):
You're like a treasure trove of secrets.

Speaker 27 (01:32:41):
Oh I know you wait, Pandora's box. But you know
the thing with the Garfield thing, we were just given
the brief. We were given like this because I you
know me, I like making people cry.

Speaker 7 (01:32:52):
That's my calling in life. So I was like, when
is Garfield going to cry?

Speaker 3 (01:32:57):
Like?

Speaker 7 (01:32:57):
What a strange in the movie.

Speaker 27 (01:32:59):
But it's to do They showed me like some slide
shows of the there's a moment in the film where
Garfield's a.

Speaker 7 (01:33:05):
Little kitten and he meets I think his name is John.

Speaker 27 (01:33:10):
Yeah, So he meets John for the first time and
John sat there having pizza, feeling really kind of lonely,
and then and then Garfield appears. So then there was you,
and so I just wanted to write this cute thing
about when they met.

Speaker 7 (01:33:21):
When they met.

Speaker 2 (01:33:22):
Oh yeah, yeah, little but that sounds like a beginning
of the film song.

Speaker 9 (01:33:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:33:27):
Well yeah, and it's right at the very end.

Speaker 2 (01:33:32):
We told you the entire Garfield story. We're gonna take
you back and tell you how he met John. He
wait a minute, I want to play the song, but
I keep jumping around because I guess I love it.
You did a concert for the King of England.

Speaker 1 (01:33:46):
Yeah, whoa.

Speaker 27 (01:33:48):
Yeah, that's mad, isn't it. Every time I think about it,
I'm just like, what, Yeah in his backyard. Yeah, in
Windsor Castle. Yeah, in Windsor Castle. I went there with
Pop Royalty take that and we still on stage and
we performed a song together, and I saw His Royal
Highness in the box there with the family, and it
was incredible. I mean I came off that stage and

(01:34:08):
I just beloved.

Speaker 7 (01:34:10):
I was so I think I was so proud to
be singing for my king, singing for my country. It
just felt incredible.

Speaker 2 (01:34:18):
Your mother growing up with the royal family. Yes, Queen
Elizabeth god Rest of Ala bless her to see her
son performing for the King of England.

Speaker 27 (01:34:30):
Hey, do you know what's so funny? I said to
my mom. I'm like, look, I've been asked to do
this thing for the King. I've been asked sounds really
know whatever? He sent me a request on invitation on Facebook. No,
I've got I've been asked to do this thing for
the King? Would you like to come? And I think
she thought that it was going to be the coronation
event where they're all sat in Westminster, Abby or wherever

(01:34:53):
they do it, so she was like, oh, it's not
really my thing. And then and then she saw the concert.
She's like, oh, that's what I missed. She'll go to
the next don't wry. I took a car back offer.

Speaker 2 (01:35:11):
Well, so you're performing for the highest of royalty before
it's in the country in the world. Well, I mean,
what do you think what goes through your mind while
you're performing? Just just get me through these lyrics. I
don't want to screw this up. Or you're like, holy crap,
he's looking at me.

Speaker 7 (01:35:28):
I mean he has the power to behead.

Speaker 27 (01:35:31):
Yeah, absolutely, So I'm just sat there like, please bring
your a game, callum, because I want to keep my
head on my shoulders.

Speaker 7 (01:35:40):
It's very large, but but it's mine. Yeah, it was insane.

Speaker 27 (01:35:45):
I think that's why I got so upset when I
left the stage, because there's so much nervous energy, And
anytime I'm performing for anybody, I get nervous, whether it's
for the cheering crowds, whether it's my own crowds, the
King of the country.

Speaker 7 (01:35:56):
I think I get nervous on every event that I do.
But I think with it being the King, with so
many people tuning and all over the world, it was
just it was a law Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:36:05):

Elvis Duran in the Morning Show, Hey, thanks for sticking around,
because we have more to say and more to hear
from Callum Scott.

Speaker 2 (01:43:14):
We just had a great conversation with him. Daniel, Yes
during the.

Speaker 6 (01:43:19):
Song, Oh yeah, very serious.

Speaker 2 (01:43:22):
I'm yeah, we got deep, we got deep. It's just
interesting how well you made a statement. I thought it
was very interesting. You said music has opened up this
entire world for me. You're traveling around the world, you're
saying for the king, You're sitting here next to me.

(01:43:47):
You know what I'm saying pretty deep stuff. I know
he's saying that he's going to be going to Singapore soon.
And you mentioned that not only do you perform in
all these incredible venues, but also you do you you'll
do a wedding. A lot of people love a love
song and they want to dance to it at their wedding.
So you have people around the world, especially in Indonesia,
say you get your ass over here singing our wedding.

Speaker 19 (01:44:09):
You must have.

Speaker 7 (01:44:10):
It's just crazy, isn't it.

Speaker 27 (01:44:11):
Like I just get a message from the manager like
we've got this, you know, we request fee to sing
in this private wedding in Bali, and I'm like okay,
and you go over there and sometimes like it's a
complete world of Like I was just saying to you
that there's this one wedding. It's like floor to scene
in high screens everywhere. They you know, they had carrots

(01:44:32):
of gold in the party favors. They were like they
really went to town. But it's like to be part
of that and to be part of that world is
just crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:44:40):
Wow, the crazy rich Asians Calum Scotch to perform, I'm
taking requests. Your passport must be just bottom.

Speaker 7 (01:44:51):
I mean, it's constantly I'm constantly having to apply for
new ones.

Speaker 2 (01:44:55):
So after you leave here, you do tomorrow morning, you
do today, and then you hop a play and go
to London, and then you fly out to Singapore, Singapore,
and then I.

Speaker 7 (01:45:04):
Come back and then I've got some stuff to do
in the UK.

Speaker 27 (01:45:07):
I'm going back to Britain's got talent to perform the
Garfield song, which is cool.

Speaker 2 (01:45:12):
We got to play that full circle exactly. So look
at this life. You never dreamed in a million years, never.

Speaker 27 (01:45:18):
Dreamed in a million years, Elvis. After I left school,
I was so undecided about what I wanted to do.
I was like, right, I'm just going to get a job,
and I went into human resources. So I've gone from
like big up all the human resources out there, but
I've gone from dealing with parking complaints to time with
their cheering, and like everything in between has just been
totally crazy.

Speaker 7 (01:45:38):
Like I pinched myself all the time.

Speaker 6 (01:45:40):
I was saying, I love the fact that you seem
to appreciate every single moment and that you don't take
anything for granted.

Speaker 7 (01:45:46):
No, never, yeah, never.

Speaker 27 (01:45:48):
It's like I think it's the kind of lessons that
my mom and my grandma and the strong women in
my life have given me over the years. Like, just
be grateful for every moment, take care, you know, show
you gratitude like and I do every single time. I
always make sure that I say thank you to everybody.
I take five minutes at the end of my show
to be like, I'm so grateful that you guys have

(01:46:09):
taken money out of your pockets, money that you've en,
you've worked hard for, and you've spent on me, and
that means so much.

Speaker 2 (01:46:15):
And yeah, I have this big spiel, I'm so grateful
that I took money out of your podcast.

Speaker 6 (01:46:20):
The merch store is open.

Speaker 2 (01:46:23):
I must make an assumption. I bet you've got a
lot of this from your mom.

Speaker 7 (01:46:26):
Yeah, yeah, Yeah, she's been I mean she's been mom
and dad for all my life and she's been incredible.

Speaker 2 (01:46:32):
Yeah. So I hear you. With all this crazy flying
here and flying there, you're coming back to New York
in October.

Speaker 5 (01:46:39):

Speaker 27 (01:46:40):
Yeah, we're announcing some shows in a few days. We've
got an announcement to make and I'll be coming back
in the fall.

Speaker 7 (01:46:47):
Exciting. It's very exciting, and it will be my biggest
show in New York.

Speaker 2 (01:46:50):
So far, can we get to Yankee Stadium?

Speaker 7 (01:46:53):
You can, you can't get Yeah, you can get tickets.

Speaker 27 (01:46:59):

just head to Calmscott dot com and so you'll get him.

Speaker 2 (01:47:05):
We're gonna play then there was you. So if someone's
just turning us on, Calum, tell the story because it's
a it's a great it's a great visual, it's a
great it's good optics for what the song is all about.

Speaker 27 (01:47:16):
Okay, so everybody knows the tale of Garfield, right, the
self indulgent, hungry, hungry.

Speaker 7 (01:47:24):
We all know him, and we've brought him to life
again with Chris Pratt.

Speaker 27 (01:47:28):
There's a voice of Garfield, and uh, you get the
origin story of how he met John. And that's that's
kind of where my brief was for the song.

Speaker 7 (01:47:36):
I mean, the song is at the end of the movie.

Speaker 2 (01:47:42):
That might be the best the best part.

Speaker 6 (01:47:44):
Hey, you love Adele. Wasn't her song at the end
of the movie. For James vond that's.

Speaker 2 (01:47:48):
True, you know, look what happened to her quite well
residency in Las Vegas.

Speaker 6 (01:47:54):
Said it might have been at the beginning.

Speaker 2 (01:47:58):
Damn it my last night hasn't been realized. Well, look,
everyone's going to flock to see Garfield as it is.
Just understand you need to stay and support our Calum.

Speaker 7 (01:48:10):
Yeah. Please, he's a very great movie.

Speaker 2 (01:48:12):
He's grateful that you took the money out of your
pockets to pay for the movie, to come see a
song and to see him in October in New York.
And you on your tour. And what's your website?

Speaker 7 (01:48:22):
Is it is Callum Scott dot com. Does the American
stated Kalem Scott do they do?

Speaker 2 (01:48:26):

Speaker 11 (01:48:29):

Speaker 2 (01:48:29):
You know, you're a sweetheart. I'm the best, all right.
So I'm going to play then there was you love it.
It's another crazy journey in your crazy life.

Speaker 7 (01:48:40):
It's just unreal.

Speaker 2 (01:48:42):
Garfield.

Speaker 17 (01:48:42):
Yeah, I know, I know.

Speaker 27 (01:48:43):
It's the first time I've ever written music for a
movie and that just so happens to be a Hollywood movie.

Speaker 7 (01:48:48):
It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:48:49):
Congratulations and it's good to see you. And he smells great, right,
I still.

Speaker 6 (01:48:52):
Smell like him. I'm taking it home with me, lovely.
I'll just tell my husband, do worry he's gay.

Speaker 17 (01:48:58):
I think we don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:49:00):
I think you as you know we convert people. I'm
gonna play it for you and then don't watch him
on the Today Show tomorrow, listen to our show.

Speaker 6 (01:49:11):
Maybe we should play him at the same time he's
going to be on. So this way people they.

Speaker 2 (01:49:15):
Have to come here. Yeah, yeah, no, enjoy, Enjoy the
rest of your time. Beautiful weather in New York City.

Speaker 27 (01:49:25):
Oh my god, Yah, sweltering out. I've just been in
LA for a week and it's been hot to here.

Speaker 5 (01:49:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 17 (01:49:32):
It usually is, isn't it.

Speaker 6 (01:49:34):
It depends on when.

Speaker 2 (01:49:38):
Whatever it's weather. We're really having that shallow weather conversation
and the traffic. There's the bagels and the pizza. It's
New York Callum Scott. Then there was you thank you
from the very end of the film, Garfield. It sounds
cute and bubbly already.

Speaker 6 (01:49:58):
It's cute.

Speaker 2 (01:50:00):

Speaker 3 (01:50:51):
This is not Miss Duran in the Morning show.

Speaker 2 (01:50:53):
Gandi's back tomorrow. Yes, she missed a great day, she
really did.

Speaker 6 (01:50:57):
We had so much fun, We had so many good guests.

Speaker 2 (01:51:01):
Let's not tell her. Let's tell her it was just
an awful show. It was just lagging.

Speaker 6 (01:51:06):
We'll tell her it was just lacking, awful.

Speaker 2 (01:51:09):
All the words that. You know what I'm saying, Gandhi.
It's just we couldn't we couldn't get a grip on
the show. He couldn't get traction without you. Let's say
that tomorrow. Everyone understand. Yes, we're gonna lie to Gandhi.
Let her know it was an awful show without her,
even though it was great. I loved it.

Speaker 6 (01:51:27):
We just had I mean, Callums was so awesome. Well,
even if you weren't like I feel like people that
maybe didn't come in as a fan of his walked
away giving his music a chance because of what a
nice person he is, and like downloading stuff and just
listening to him because he's just so fantastic.

Speaker 2 (01:51:43):
You know what, when I first met him, I was
thinking about just dropping everything and moving to England and
living with him.

Speaker 6 (01:51:51):
What did he feel the same.

Speaker 2 (01:51:54):
He didn't get that far in the conversation. I'm sure
he would have agreed.

Speaker 6 (01:51:58):
I'm sure he would have. I still smell like him
in too. I don't know what is.

Speaker 2 (01:52:03):
Sniff them all day anyway?

Speaker 16 (01:52:04):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:52:05):
His new song from Garfield great. I'm so glad we
played it called Then There Was You he wrote it
look at that so good anyway. And Charlemagne. Charlamagne was amazing.

Speaker 16 (01:52:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:52:15):
And Tommy, he's part of the family. He's always fun.

Speaker 2 (01:52:18):
We should have Charlemagne and Tommy and Callum on more
every day, and we should ask ask Goddy just four
days a week.

Speaker 6 (01:52:25):
No, no, no, I miss Kandy Please?

Speaker 2 (01:52:29):
Why do you miss Gandhi?

Speaker 6 (01:52:30):
Because he's my girl. You know, we have each other's back.
You know, Sam comes in the room, but she's not
in there the whole time. Diamond's in the other room.
Diana's in Disney getting.

Speaker 2 (01:52:39):
Ya feel unsafe. No, safe, We don't attack you.

Speaker 6 (01:52:44):
I know I love you all, but it's nice having
the You know, there's a lot of penises in here.
I'm just saying, what that's a separate question.

Speaker 2 (01:52:54):
Put Okay, we have one, two, three, four or five.
We have six penises in this.

Speaker 6 (01:52:58):
Room right now, not that I have anything.

Speaker 2 (01:52:59):
It gets by the way, I'm assuming you all had penises.

Speaker 4 (01:53:02):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:53:03):
Yeah, okay, everybody who has a penis in this room, say.

Speaker 25 (01:53:06):
I by.

Speaker 2 (01:53:08):
Danielle, she did a penis, but she's got balls. Anyway,
let's uh, okay, we have to go around the room.

Speaker 17 (01:53:17):
How do you do that?

Speaker 2 (01:53:18):
Like this, you'll hear several penises speaking right now. We'll
start with scaries. Hi, scary, what's on your mind? It's
crazy because every time I ordered door Dash or whatever
and Uber eats, it's like my food is there like
five minutes.

Speaker 7 (01:53:30):
I'm like, this is crazy.

Speaker 10 (01:53:32):
My friends have problems and where they live, They're like,
we never get this stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:53:36):
It takes forever. I found out that the Dashers hang
out in areas that tip the most. I happen to
be living in a neighborhood that tips big. So if
you happen to be a port tipping neighborhood. The Dashers
aren't in your neighborhood, so they have to go to
the location first. So I didn't realize that they congregate
on their bicycles just waiting for an order in that neighborhood.

(01:53:57):
They kind of hover and then they get the order
and then they go. But if you want to make
more money as a dasher, go to the rich neighborhoods.
I'm in. That's why. That's what Danielle does. What you
trigger treats day.

Speaker 6 (01:54:07):
I get the big size candy bars in certain neighborhoods
because I know they're the rich people.

Speaker 2 (01:54:12):
The rich people also where they're getting their Grubhub pastors.
That's right, we now learned. Hey, what's up there, producer Sam.

Speaker 6 (01:54:18):
I just want to implore everyone to be a Steve today.
If you can be a Steve, you just got to
be a Steve.

Speaker 2 (01:54:24):
And tell everyone who Steve is.

Speaker 14 (01:54:25):
I mentioned yesterday that there was a loss, a very
sudden loss and a friend group of mine and it
just left this giant hole and it wasn't It's not
because of the proximity he has to everyone.

Speaker 2 (01:54:36):
It's because of who he was This guy was tigger.

Speaker 14 (01:54:39):
He was one of one, and he was the guy
you were excited to tell something to because Hey, that
idea is fantastic.

Speaker 6 (01:54:46):
Good for you. Oh you want to do you gotta
do that.

Speaker 3 (01:54:49):
It's gonna work out. Hey, love the hat, dude, you
look great.

Speaker 2 (01:54:52):
He was just there to lift you up and make you.

Speaker 14 (01:54:54):
Feel so good about your accomplishments, your thoughts, what you
were doing. And it was so genuine and it doesn't
happen enough. So if you can do something like that
for someone, show up for them, do it for Steve,
because he was just Wow, he was the best. We
all speak highly after someone passes, but I'm telling you
he really was the best.

Speaker 6 (01:55:13):
And several people in this room can vouch for that.
I feel like when somebody is taken too early that
has that kind of a personality, it's because the greater power.
It feels like, okay, you've brought that there, we need
jup here. Yeah, like he's got a he's got a calling,
someone calling.

Speaker 3 (01:55:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:55:31):
Well yeah, you know, tough pill to swallow, but.

Speaker 2 (01:55:33):
That has to be true, Steve. Yeah, thanks for sharing that. Hey, Froggy,
what's up with you today?

Speaker 4 (01:55:38):
Well?

Speaker 22 (01:55:38):
I don't want to go after that good lord minus
so shallow. So a lot of companies are cutting back
and doing things and whatnot. So we ran out of
cups here in the kitchen, oh no, in the Jacksonville
office last week. It's Wednesday that we haven't new cups
have not arrived yet. I don't know if we're not
getting cups. But somebody put a thing that says bring
your own cup. Oh gosh, next to the coffee machine

(01:55:59):
in the water machine, so I don't know if that's
part of the cupback. We're not getting cups and we
got to bring our own. I don't know what's going on.

Speaker 2 (01:56:04):
I'll get into that.

Speaker 22 (01:56:05):
Let me call it corporate. Yeah, what's up with a
cup thing? I mean paper whatever. I'd rather have paper
than styrophone, but whatever, whatever, cups. If they could just
provide cups, it'd be nice.

Speaker 2 (01:56:14):
All right, there you go, move along, Okay, thank you
for saving money, Danielle.

Speaker 6 (01:56:19):
I think I'm missing out on a business and helping
a bit, because when do we have these guests that
come in like Callum Scott who smells so nice, and
Jason Derulo and I'm like, wow, you smell great. I
feel like I should find out the exact scent, reach
out to the company and work with them and call
it like smell like Jason, smell like Callum and like
have a link, and then maybe the company would pay

(01:56:40):
me a little bit of money and I could have a.

Speaker 2 (01:56:42):
Side hustle, could be an odor agent.

Speaker 8 (01:56:44):
What do you think?

Speaker 2 (01:56:46):
I bet you could.

Speaker 6 (01:56:46):
I'm missing out on something here. I have a influencer, yesfluencer.
I am a sinf influencer.

Speaker 2 (01:56:54):
Guy, did you do that?

Speaker 6 (01:56:55):
Everybody always asks what I wear and it's Katy Perry
killer queen. So I mean, you know, Katy Perry should
be like, give me some Cashi.

Speaker 2 (01:57:01):
Should all right? All right, I think you're onto something.
I think so you're funny. You're funny. Found a way
to make some money so you could get out of here.

Speaker 6 (01:57:09):
I don't want to leave.

Speaker 10 (01:57:09):
I love you. Hello, Garrett, Hello, what is going on
with sound today? All right, let's talk about this baby
that's going viral. It's called the Bougie Baby online. So
this baby can't be no more than two three years old.
Mom asked a question and it spoke for the first time.

Speaker 2 (01:57:22):
I have a question for everybody who wants to go
to the four Seasons, Orlando.

Speaker 10 (01:57:29):
Boogie Babyie Baby, three years old in Dad's arms, just
like no I do.

Speaker 2 (01:57:33):
When I was three years old, I didn't know a
good hotel from a bad hotel. Like the bad hotels,
I'll take better because they had those boxes on the
bed you could put a quarter in. It would vibrate
all night. Yeah, the good hotels and the four season
has never had not at all.

Speaker 5 (01:57:45):
All.

Speaker 10 (01:57:45):
Right, let's talk about Steve from Blues Clues. He gave
the commencement speech upstate New York at a college, and
he reminded everybody of who he was.

Speaker 8 (01:57:52):
Hi, I'm Steve Burns, and if you know me at all,
you probably just know me as Steve with one name
and no last name, like Beyonce. You see forty five
million years ago, I was the original gangster host of
the children's television show on Nickelodeon called Blues Clues.

Speaker 22 (01:58:13):
Now I'm good Good.

Speaker 2 (01:58:18):
Blues Clues was a.

Speaker 8 (01:58:19):
Really kind of weird children's television show. I wore the
same bat outfit all the time and was generally very
nice and very excited about absolutely everything. I hung out
with an animated puzzle solving puppy who was Lou I
had meaningful conversations with my condiments.

Speaker 7 (01:58:37):
I sang song.

Speaker 2 (01:58:39):
It was a great show.

Speaker 6 (01:58:40):
It still is a great show.

Speaker 2 (01:58:41):
You remember all the awful, awful rumors came out Steve
was on Heroin.

Speaker 6 (01:58:46):
We had him in studio. Remember he was starting a
band at one time, remember starting a musical career. Were no,
he was all right.

Speaker 10 (01:58:54):
And then finally let's move over to Detroit. So there
was a story about two firefighters who got into a
fight at a fire. One was arrested, but the story
is more about the reporter reporting on the fight.

Speaker 26 (01:59:04):
Detroit firefighters known as some of the best in the
business at fighting fires, not fighting each other while also
fighting fires. But at this home burning on Myers near
Schoolcraft at two Saturday morning, Detroit fire crews arrived quickly
to a significant fire inside this home, and the firefighters
got right to work.

Speaker 2 (01:59:23):
Something went wrong with the.

Speaker 26 (01:59:24):
Firefighter, who comes from a Detroit firefighter family, where he
allegedly assaulted a fellow firefighter as they're fighting the fire,
to the point where the chief on the fire scene
had to call Detroit police for help. We are told,
in his fire gear and all officers arrested that firefighter
and took him to the Detroit Detention Center.

Speaker 2 (01:59:43):
Okay, by the way, they just use the word fire
thirteen times. Yes, fire included in Firefighter. Yes, exactly, and
that's it.

Speaker 7 (01:59:52):
You're a good America.

Speaker 2 (01:59:53):

Speaker 2 (02:00:06):

Speaker 3 (02:00:11):

the charts. And I'm loving it because the movie The
Idea of You is so fantastic and August Moon is
very talent.
