There’s a lot of misbehaving in the pews at a Pentecostal children’s church under the oversized sunglasses gaze of the Clown Patrol. I was paired with Randy, a rambunctious new kid bent on disrupting Brother Rick’s service, and probably land me in trouble. Things culminate in a not-so-joyful noise that I got blamed for! Jesus wept!
Everyone in Tampa knows someone who got the "crazy preacher tape" on their lawn or in their mailbox.
The tapes featured Reverend Abraham Duncan, who claimed persecution by the Rolling Stones, critiqued 70s gospel singer Evie Tornquist's music, and claimed he was "psychic and my mind goes back in time."
I attempted to find out who Reverend Duncan was and construct his life story. CW: Mental Illness, Racism.
