Video Game Music re-arranged, re-orchestrated, and re-made...
Gamers have been criticized and scrutinized for lots of things. They’re not strong, have no realistic perceptions, narcissistic, and not dating material. They seem to be frivolous with their money, spending it on video games, consoles, accessories, and figures. Also, online controversies have divided people, distracting from the fun of gaming.
However, gamers can also be generous with our money. While not reported on most fam...
Merry Christmas, everyone! I present to all the listeners my gift for 2025: an episode that recaps all the Christmas tracks that have been showcased and counted down since Day One. For those just joining in, this is a tradition of mine since I started the podcast in 2022. Christmas is my favorite holiday of all time and what a great way to celebrate with video game music that is Christmas-themed.
Enjoy all this music and be safe ou...
Today we’re celebrating National Emo Day, a day dedicated to an interesting subculture that started as a music genre and spread onto fashion and a lifestyle. While most people may mock or scratch their heads, emo is rather simple. It’s having a personal connection that transcends logic. The music is melodic, with lyrics that evoke an emotional connection. The fashion is contrarian to the mainstream, with thick-rimmed gl...
After such an interesting episode about Krampus, I thought I would take a deeper dive into Christmas traditions in other parts of the world. I could have done multiple episodes on this, but I decided to choose three of them for now, one of with which I’m already familiar.
For this week’s episode, we’ll take a look at three Christmas traditions with (hopefully) a video game to match: A talking Pokemon, a brother...
The holidays have begun with feelings of cheer and good tidings. Yet, there are times when some bad behavior may slip in your season’s greetings. In that case, one must be aware of Krampus as celebrate Krampusnacht (Krampus night) on December 5th.
Krampus is a mythical creature of scary proportions: a demonic, goat-like head with curly horns and a hairy body that unkept and scraggly. They are known to go after naughty childre...

Here we are, Episode 200!!! What an awesome milestone to reach, as I look back and see what I’ve done and how much I’ve grown. Yet, there is still much more to learn and expand. It seems like a long road, but the journey still continues.
As I’ve done with the 100th episode, it’ll be broken down into three sub-episodes, each a playlist of favorite tracks from each episode. You may hear a message congratulatio...
The tele. The Console. The Idiot Box. The Boobtube. The Telly. The Big Screen. The Tube.
If you recognize any of these terms, most likely you’ve watched the television while growing up, that electronic box with cables running behind it and sometimes is attached to a pair of antennae (aka rabbit ears).
Today we are celebrating World Television Day, in honor of the TV. Proclaimed by The United Nations General Assembly back in D...

Every first Friday of November is “Love Your Lawyer”, a day dedicated to all the civil servants in suits that argue or defend for our rights to life, liberty, and property. It’s a time to show an appreciation for their work in and out of the courtroom, preparing and filing the paperwork, researching for precedence and evidence, and trying to sway the judge and jury in their favor. Whether you love them or despise ...
It’s spooky time, everyone! Halloween has arrived and we’re doing a proper celebration of an episode on Friday, instead of the week before the holiday.
We’ll be playing tracks from MMORPGs (massively multiplayer online role-playing games) that have Halloween-themed events: a game based on MUDs (multi-user dungeons), a free game that has gone through several versions, and a cozy social game on an island. Of course,...
Today, October 24th, Jet Grind Radio (first released in Japan as Jet Set Radio) was released in the North American regions for the Sega Dreamcast. It was an action, single-player platforming game that involved tagging over rival gang’s graffiti throughout Tokyo to regain territory, while avoiding other gang members and the authorities. You’ll also learn there’s a certain vinyl being sought as you’re helping ...
It’s that time again for our… wait a minute. The end of the month is not here. Why? Because October 31st, Halloween, falls on a Friday, so I’ve decided to switch places so that I can do a proper Friday episode for Halloween. For this week, we’ve got our special episode of “On Stage Now”, featuring CG5.
CG5 (real name Charlie Green) is a musical talent who sings, produces, and composes. While most...
Today’s episode is a celebration of Team Fortress 2, released on October 10, 2007. It was a part of The Orange Box, which included Half-Life 2, Episodes 1 and 2 of HL2, and Portal. It was later ported to the Sony PlayStation 3 and later made as a standalone the following year for Microsoft Windows. Three years later, Team Fortress 2 became free-to-play.
You’ll play as one of nine classes for either team RED or BLU, comp...
Last week, I went to a meet-up being organized by one of my high school classmates, Eduardo. He wanted to have a gathering with family and friends before he started treatment for his cancer. It was a lively time at the pizza place, as people talked to each other and took selfies with their mobile devices. Overall, he was happy to see everyone who could attend, taking control of his life and dealing with cancer on his terms.
For thi...
The air is getting colder, the days are getting shorter, and that means September is almost over. That also means it’s time for our special episode of “On Stage Now”, where we feature a VGM cover or remix musician or group with some info and then play their repertoire of works.
This month’s musician is Vincent Moretto, a guitarist and producer from France. He blends metal, cyberpunk, and video games in a way...
Ahoy mates! It’s time to weigh anchor and set sail as we celebrate “International Talk Like a Pirate Day”, on September 19th.
Nothing too complicated, other than tiring your wind pipes. This day was created by two friends who, in the midst of shouting words of encouragement while playing racquetball, starting talking to each other as pirates. They decided to create a special day (on one of their ex-wife’s b...
Sometimes a video game is so popular and hyped-up that it may cause the servers to crash: too many people trying to buy and too many players online at the same time. It’s frustrating, testing a player’s patience, taxing a computer’s CPU, and straining the Internet lines. The recent release of “Hollow Knight: Silksong” is proof of this
Steam, one of the popular software distribution clients, has had its...

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
