The Spectrum Reality
Hi I'm mum to nine year old daughter Amelia. Amelia was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder when she was four years old. On The Spectrum Reality I will talk about the issues I face day to day as a parent with a child on the spectrum. I will discuss the experiences I've encountered from the time of diagnoses to now. The most important message I've learned through all of this is that I'm not alone. So join me as I share my journey on the Spectrum Reality.

In this episode I will talk about death and the passing of a loved one. I will talked about our personal experience of losing a loved one and how it as affected Amelia as she tries to understand why death occurs and what happens after a loved one has died.

In this episode I will discuss hygiene, self-care and puberty, and how the smallest steps towards self-care are big achievements for people living with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I will talk about Amelia’s journey, from not being able to feed herself, dress herself, or brush her own teeth and all the little things that the everyday person takes for granted, to now when we are facing the next challenge of puberty and what that means...
In this episode I will discuss family life when living with a child on the spectrum. I will talk about family life in the home. Siblings and Autism, The challenges we face as a family, how it has affected our extended family, my own depression and anxiety and what has made us become closer as a family.
