Horror Show Hot Dog
Every week Josh Nite, Charlie Buttermann, and Matt Allex watch, discuss, and review three horror movies and one horror short. Sometimes they love them, sometimes they hate them, sometimes they come up with movies they like better on the spot. Come find the best and the worst the genre has to offer with Horror Show Hot Dog. (Don’t worry, there are lots of jokes.)

Movies discussed: Ick, The Last House, Penny Lane is Dead, You’re an Angel (short)
This time around we have three deeply flawed movies, which of course leads to lots of chattiness and weird digressions. Overall we liked parts of Ick, parts of The Last House, and some of us liked parts of Penny Lane Is Dead.
Also, Charlie talked about these adorable stop motion shorts: https://www.youtube.com/@
Movies discussed: Buffet Infinity, Exit 8, Nightborn, Chute (short)
This time, we dig into Buffet Infinity but not everybody leaves satisfied. We also stay up late with Nightborn and get pleasantly lost in Exit 8.

Movies discussed: Evil Dead Burn, Obsession, Cold Storage, Alone Time (short)
This time we have warm feelings about Cold Storage, but are a little cool toward Evil Dead Burn. And 2/3rds of us have an Obsession obsession.

Movies discussed: Forbidden Fruits, The Scarecrow (1982), Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, Next Floor (short)
This time around we’re split on Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, find Forbidden Fruits a little overripe, and are weirdly charmed by The Scarecrow (which contains approximately 0% scarecrows).

Movies discussed: Gaia, They Will Kill You, Inhuman Kiss, Someone Is In My Basement (short)
This time around we all love Inhuman Kiss, and find parts to love about They Will Kill You and Gaia. Some parts. Some smaller than others.
Next episodes assignments:
Lee Cronin’s The Mummy
Forbidden Fruits
The Scarecrow 1982 (Klynham Summer?)
I swear I looked and couldn’t find a trailer for this one.

Movies discussed: Night Patrol, Whistle, Primate, The Littles (short)
We emerge from our Friday the 13th marathon with three new movies. Overall we’re impressed with Primate, underwhelmed by Whistle, and kinda baffled by Night Patrol.

We’re finally ki ki ki ah ah ahhhll done with the Friday the 13 series! While 8, 9 and the reboot are nowhere near the series’ heights, Jason X is still a ...
Movies discussed: 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, The Mortuary Assistant, Thrash, Diaboli (short)
We’re back! This time, we find The Mortuary Assistant kind of mediocre, Thrash surprisingly mediocre, and 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple equal parts beautiful and… kinda mediocre. But we had fun talking about ’em! Hear for yourself!

Movies discussed: Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, Undertone, Carnival of Souls, The Worm (short) This time around we’re more than ready for Ready or Not 2, enjoy the rides at the Carnival of Souls, and find Undertone a little Underwhelming. Also, it’s past April Fools, so you can rest assured that everything we say is 100% factual. Next episodes assignments: Thrash 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple The Mortuary Assistant Dia...
Movies discussed: Vamp, Scream 7, All You Need is Blood, The Owl (short) This week we ponder how many more Screams really need to be scrummed, why Grace Jones made a bizzarro vampire movie, and whether indie horror has to choose between sincere and gonzo. Next episode’s assignments: Undertone Carnival of Souls Ready or Not 2: Here I Come The Worm (short) Hey, here’s a video from the Inspiraggio YouTube channel Matt ment...
Movies discussed: Send Help, Black Phone 2, Beast of War, Next Show in 90 Minutes (short) This episode has it all: battle-scarred sharks, next-level Australian swearing, ice-skating ghosts, Jesus-centric flirting, paralytic octopuses, regurgitative CPR… Overall we all dig Send Help, but Black Phone 2 and Beast of War get split decisions. Next episodes assignments: Vamp Scream 7 All You Need is Blood The Owl (short) Watch alo...
Movies discussed: Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (again!), Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (again!), Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (again!), Avoid Asking (short) This time we’re speedrunning the Tommy Jarvis saga in our Friday the 13th rewatch. We all agree VI is great, Charlie and Josh love IV, and Matt really digs V (which is his right as a horror fan and an American). Look at this digital terror on Charlie&rsqu...
Movies discussed: The Toxic Avenger (remake), Dust Bunny, Queens of the Dead, The Rug (short) This episode features three reality-adjacent flicks, each with a very particular vision. We all love the lush & feverish Dust Bunny and the intentionally low-rent new Toxic Avenger, while Queens of the Dead gets mixed reviews. Next episode’s assignments: Ki ki ki ah ah ah . . . Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter Friday the...
Movies discussed: Friday the 13th (again!), Friday the 13th Part 2 (again!), Friday the 13th Part III (again!), Playing God (short) Hey Hot Doggies! Hope y’all had a good holiday season! We extended ours a little – sorry for the wait. This time we’re digging back into Friday the 13th, and finding they’re better than the culture remembers them to be. We had conflated a lot of the F13 knockoffs with the o...
Movies discussed: Influencers, Necropolis, I Madman, Irradiated (short) Hey Hoy Doggies! This is likely our last show of 2025, so we’re celebrating by doing the same thing we always do. This time we all fall under the sway of Influencers, but have to debate the relative merits of low-budget 80s flicks Necropolis and I, Madman (Matt’s wrong as usual, but he’s so dang cute we’ll keep him). Happy listening, joy...
Movies discussed: Spellbinder, Bone Lake, Chompy & the Girls, To the Brink (short) This time around, two of us dig Bone Lake, a different two of us like Spellbinder, and we all agree that Chompy and the Girls is a wonderful strange little gem. Movies discussed: Cellar Dweller, Sew Torn, Frankenstein (2025), Slash (short) This time around we dig into Bill of the Bull’s Frankenstein, have a nostalgic blast with Cellar Dweller, and enjoy the genre-bending Wes-Anderson-meets-Edgar-Wrightness of Sew Torn. Movies discussed: I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025), The Hand That Rocks The Cradle (2025), Birdeater, The Reprisal (short) We’re back after a lovely Twin Cities Con, and we’ve got a lot to talk about.
