This podcast is by about the things that are important to dads. Raising good kids. Being good husbands. Keeping up with Star Wars..... you know, the important stuff. And I have 8 kids, so I know important! But it is also for the people that care about what the Bible says about raising kids, being a good spouse, influencing the culture, and making a difference that will last even after we pass away. We want to inspire and equip Christians to engage in the Culture War and impact the next generation by proclaiming Christ! Yep, I'm a Preacher Dad. And I want my relationship with Jesus Christ to permeate every part of my life, including how I relate to my wife and children. He tells me about Himself in the Bible, and I believe Jesus has addressed every part of life in his Word. Let's see if we can find a current issue or family issue where the Bible does not apply. From parenting to politics to preparation...and everything in between! Join me!
This week on Fatherhood Friday, we tackle one of the most important responsibilities a father can have: protecting his family.
Join us as we sit down with defense expert David Lashley to discuss practical strategies, real-world tactics, and the mindset every dad needs to effectively safeguard the people he loves. From everyday situational awareness to preparing for unexpected challenges, this conversation offers both hands-on guidan...
Ever wonder what Independence day costs? No, I’m not talking about market research surveys telling you how many billions of dollars Americans spent on fireworks. $$$ I’m not talking about how Uncle Greg’s famous chili dog causes “serious repercussions” until probably July 9th! I’m talking about what it cost some people to sign their names […]
The post 059 – The Price of Independence Day appeared first on Preacher Dad.When I say that marriage is not black and white, I’m not speaking about gray areas within marriage, or the need to compromise, etc. No, I’m talking about the fact that some well meaning and otherwise reasonable and Biblically founded people teach that marriage between “races” is forbidden in Scripture. This teaching is not founded […]
The post 056 – Marriage is Not Black and White appeared first on Preacher Dad.Well, what do you think? Would Jesus have forgiven Judas? If Judas had avoided suicide and come in repentance to the risen Christ, what do you think would have been the result? What happened to Peter? What about the other disciples that abandoned Jesus when he needed them most? Forgiven, each one. Listen to perhaps […]
The post 051 – Would Jesus have Forgiven Judas? appeared first on Preacher Dad.This was such a normal part of my growing up that I completely take it for granted that all Christians would think this way. But I'm sorry to say, many do not.
The post 043 – Basic Christian Duty appeared first on Preacher Dad.YES! I did it! I helped to save America! I was part of the team that is fighting back against the evil plans of Dr. Biden and her robotic husband, Brandon! We have to see how the rest of the team fares, but I’m optimistic our heavy hitters like Iron Man and Captain America will […]
The post 042 – I am an Avenger! (kinda) appeared first on Preacher Dad.What if soldiers sat on the sidelines during a battle? What if they said “There are so many people fighting out there, my few little bullets won’t make a difference.”? Would that absolve them of blame or cowardice? Yet many Christians do this exact thing when it comes to voting. Aren’t you glad Queen Esther […]
The post 041 – Get in the Fight! (You need to vote!) appeared first on Preacher Dad.June 24th, 2022 – A day I will try to remember the rest of my life. The day life wins. A day when my faith was strengthened, my heart was encouraged, and hope was restored. When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, and also reversed the Casey decision, it was a victory for life. […]
The post 037 – Life Wins! appeared first on Preacher Dad.Does an action have to be monumental to be heroic? I would say heroism can be found even in the small things. Though often the word “hero” is overused, it is the little every day sacrifices we make which truly stem the tide of evil in our time. Self-sacrifice is the hero’s motto, and that […]
The post 034 – What is Heroic? appeared first on Preacher Dad.The death “bed” conversion – How can the faith of one criminal inspire us today? The thief on the Cross displays incredible faith in the midst of the last moments of his life. How did this happen? How does a convicted death row criminal come to believe so strongly in Christ that even watching the […]
The post 033 – The Thief on the Cross appeared first on Preacher Dad.Sometimes it’s very hard to stay “up”. The pressures of life get oppressive. But we are told in Scripture that these “various trials” are meant for our growth and maturity. Here are some thoughts that might encourage you (or help you stay encouraged) and some sources that help me when I feel down.
The post 030 – Stay Encouraged! appeared first on Preacher Dad.What’s the point of preparation? What is a reasonable scenario? (Not the cooky ones that say aliens have poisoned the food supply so they can take over our nation by mind control, but only Jewish people are immune…. you get the idea.) Am I prepared to live for even a week without electricity? What about […]
The post 027 – Why Prepare? appeared first on Preacher Dad.This Fatherhood Friday we get some dad jokes (good ones) and a report from the first class we did on Biblical Citizenship in Modern America. An excellent kick-off session with a special message from Kirk Cameron focused on the National Monument to the Forefathers. He presents the recipe the founders of Plymouth, Massachusetts (the Pilgrims) […]
The post 026 – Monumental Reform – Fatherhood Friday appeared first on Preacher Dad.Easy parenting, or perhaps more precisely “selfish parenting”, is a very subtle yet seductive danger to our children. It is remarkably tempting, when our children need training of various kinds, to put it aside because it would be too hard, time consuming, or inconvenient. Yet the danger to our children from a habit of this […]
The post 022 – Pitfalls of Easy Parenting appeared first on Preacher Dad.On Fatherhood Friday, it’s Christmas eve! So today we want to remember the incredible doctrine contained in some famous carols. Listen and rejoice that Christ is born!
The post 021 – Christmas Carol Theology appeared first on Preacher Dad.“If it’s good enough for Jesus, it’s good enough for you.” That’s the basic philosophy we have about family Christmas gifts in our home, and with a large family something like that is a necessity. We have to manage the Christmas season somehow or we end up buried under a tsunami of debt and wrapping […]
The post 020 – Fatherhood Friday – 3 Gifts! appeared first on Preacher Dad.It might seem cliche, but one of the very best ways to make a difference is to vote! “Vote early; vote often!” is the old joke but as long as you don’t vote more than once in a single election…yeah, vote often! Seriously, many people overlook this option or take it for granted, but it […]
The post 019 – Make a Difference: Vote! appeared first on Preacher Dad.Last time spoke of the dominion, or stewardship, we have been given over creation. A position of great honor and trust, as well as being the final creation of God in the Creation week. Mankind is, in a very real sense, the crowning achievement of Creation.
The post 009 – Foundations 009 – The Crown of Creation appeared first on Preacher Dad.God didn’t make a world that is bland and boring. He created a place that is rich in beauty and full of life. This teaches us that God values beautiful things, is artistic and detailed.
The post 005 – Foundations 005 – Providential Plans appeared first on Preacher Dad.The Spirit of God moved (or hovered) over the water and things began to happen. A world is beginning. The light is coming. All because the Spirit of God decided to move.
