Speaker 2 (00:23):
This week on The Big League Podcast, former Keewy's coach
Frank Endercon explains why the Warriors were obliterated so spectacularly
by the Melbourne Storm, a seventeenth consecutive defeat. Michael Burgess
and I will labor over the carcass of another visit
to Amy Park and attempt to resuscitate some hope into
the warriors chances against the Broncos. My name is Nathan Limb.

(00:47):
Let's go God b LV. I don't even know where
to start. That first half at Amy Park was like
watching a lion rip a baby gazelle to shreds, like
watching a ute drive straight over the top of a possum.
It was like watching Joey Chestnut eat a hot dog
utter dominance. The Melbourne Storm are in a league of

(01:08):
their own, and I'm not convinced anyone in the NRL
can live with them. The Warriors salvaged some credit in
the second half, but let's face it, by that point
it didn't matter unimaginative attack, loose carries Jackson Ford with
a needless professional foul which saw the Warriors concede three
tries with a man down. Lequa Halasima. It's great that

(01:29):
you scored a try, but please don't shush the crowd
when you've just shelled thirty six points. But maybe maybe
I'm overreacting. This is a young team with a new spine,
eons away from hitting their potential. Michael Burgess, Senior New
Zealand Herald right up to me, this feels less.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Like a game review and more like a post mortem.
It's pretty sad in a way.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
I mean, the feeling around the nation at halftime on
Sunday would have been pretty bleak. You know, we had
a lot of Warriors fans. I'd know where you were,
but a lot of Warriors fans would have been hiding
behind their couches, not wanting to really know what's gonna
happen next.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Thankfully, it didn't get as bad.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
As we all thought, but it was pretty It was
pretty awful in the first half. But you're right with
your first point, the Storm, and we can't forget that completely.
The Storm are in another universe when they're like that.
When they're on that sort of form, they are actually unstoppable.
It's a blazing hot afternoon. You lose one of your
best props early on. And basically for me, the new

(02:36):
rules and the one referee have just since that time,
over the last few years, the Storm had just gone
to another level. The way they can play so fast
it is actually almost impossible to stop when they get
in that mood and when the opposition is making errors

(02:58):
and making hard for themselves as well.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
The rock speed, I suppose from the Melbourne Storm just
I mean, the Warriors were just going backwards at a
rate of knots and it's amazing when you think about
I think the stats. One of the commentators mentioned the
Warriors actually had more play the balls in the Storm
twenty but they just weren't able to make anything of it.
And then you compare that with the six strides that
Melbourne ran, in the pace at which they did that,

(03:21):
the accuracy, they're on another planet.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
Well, yeah, it's a good point about that stat. I
heard that as well, I think, because he said it
just after halftime. He said that the Warriors have had
twenty sets in the Melbourne twenty two in the Storm
at that stage that at nineteen, so the Warriors were
slightly ahead, which seemed completely bizarre, but it actually makes
sense because what was happening the Storm did the Warriors
did it from time down in the red zone, but

(03:45):
they couldn't produce much at all.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
I mean the Storm.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
You know this is going to sound like sour grace,
but the Storm live offside for a lot of matches,
and they were certainly living off side in that first
quarter when the Warriors did have some ball, So that
makes it hard. You got to find ways around them
or try and go through them. But yeah, the Storm.
The thing was, the Storm was scoring from anywhere. They
didn't have to be up. They were just making breaks

(04:11):
and getting a rolling from anywhere. So very hard to
defend Ford sinbinning, which was probably debatable, but it was
pretty silly as well. That just accentuated issues because it's
hard enough for thirteen att alone twelve, so we've got
a lot to get into. A pretty sorry afternoon. But

(04:32):
on the other hand, wasn't nearly as bad as it
could have been. If we're looking for rainbows and sunshine
and some sort of.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
I don't feel in the mood for rainbows and Sunshine
Birds were pants.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah. Look, the first half was thirty six points.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Well actually it was even Nathan's just fallen back, almost
fallen over. It wasn't even that, you know the worst part.
It was thirty six points in thirty one minutes.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
That was the thing.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
So it was thirty six and nil after thirty one minutes.
And we talked last week and I think I said
to you, Nath, I said, for me, this match is
not about the result.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
I did not expect the Warriors to win.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
I did not expect them to get close to winning
because there's simply not a team that can beat the Storm.
They're about there are about three or four teams then
there can beat the Storm, in my opinion, unless you
have those crazy days like the Dragons did. But what
I wanted was just them to play to their potential
and be competitive, and of course we got we got
neither of those. I guess that's the bigger issue for me.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Right, we're going to go through this game in a
lot more detail, and we're going to next hear the
verdict of former KIWIS coach Frank Endercott. What does he
make of it? But first, here are the low lights.
Storm forty two Warriors fourteen. If you're already having a
bad day, maybe just skip the next minute and a half.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
It is Melbourne against the Warriors, with both team in
the top four of the kickoff is hide short.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Now they go on. Zavier Coats goes in.

Speaker 5 (06:04):
What cow Harry great team guys in Monster Guy's hot

here's one of the bests. Harry grand dozen pappendals and
numbers again Almbo Gran Anderson Dozen the sun nice troll.

(06:47):
They'll both defender within kay lost plight and it's Rehires
to beat up a kick.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
It will come down just sure the guy on and
be gathered by the Warriors.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
Right tight, look up Alla Sama away down the sideline.

Speaker 3 (07:02):

Oh don't berry, Harris de Vood finding Metcalf and Metcalf.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Pulled his way through the line.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
There's another try for the Warriors in the second half,
so he seven tries to three as the Melbourne Storm
go four and one.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
The Big League Podcast podcast.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
We're very lucky to be joined on the Big League
Podcast now by former Chemi's coach Frank Endercott to debrief
that game. Frank, thank you so much for your time. Disaster, calamity,
car crash. What word would you use to describe that
first half at Amy Park? A?

Speaker 6 (07:54):
Yeah, look, I wouldn't be too hard on on the Warriors,
to be honest with you, Nathan's It wasn't that they
played bad. It was just that the Storm was absolutely
brilliant in that first half and that was what sealed
the win for the game that first half, And in
my book, there wouldn't have been any other team in
the competition that would have gone with them, So you know,

(08:16):
it was a I was the coach, I'd be putting
that one aside and worrying about next week.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Well, I mean you said that they didn't do as
or we shouldn't be as hard on them as as
perhaps I am being. But and to your credit, they
won the second half. I mean the Warriors they put
on a better performance in the second half. So did
they just not show up in the first half? What happened?

Speaker 6 (08:37):
No, they showed up, They tried. They I just couldn't
for everything went right for the Storm. They were absolutely
red hot and as I say, no other team would
have put it with them either. So you know they
went in and you know, had a good team talk
come out with the second half forteen and six. So
they could have really capitulated and got beat by sixty

(08:59):
seventy points, but they didn't. They showed plenty of heart.
They were without them their their top prop and fisher Harris.
You know, I thought, I know, I thought they come
out with a bit of credit in the end. But
that first half from Melbourne was exceptional.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
It was exceptional. Are you able to explain.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
I suppose from a coach's perspective, Melbourne had so much
space on the edge as Avier coach was running right
pretty much.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
The whole game.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Why were the Warriors always seemingly a man down on
the edge. Is it a structure thing? Why was Tane
sort of caught with a man on the outside so much?

Speaker 6 (09:35):
Well, they were playing second man plays a lot, you know,
with the two hars in Hughes and Munster, and then
they were bringing Pappenhausen from the back and his extra
speed was really stretching the flanks of the Warriors. I mean,
he's exceptionally fast. He's like a little rabbit, isn't he
And he either went through himself or he set up

(09:55):
coachs the winger and once coaches in the clear, he's
going to be hard to stop every time. So yeah, no,
it was just perfection by them, the way they handled it.
That looked to me the first half as though it
was a training run. They were doing exactly what they
do in training. Second half a bit different they, you know,
And how often do we see that whereas side goes

(10:17):
in thirty forty points up at our time and then
come out and just you know, just go to sleep
in the second half, And that's what happened.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
On to Opeaky. I think he's brilliant. He's brilliant with
ball in hand. But I suppose he was beaten in
the air really clearly by Coach during that game and
then the second half Coach just ran straight on the
over the top of him. Do we just need a
bigger body on the wing, Well.

Speaker 6 (10:41):
We've got one, but he's injured and what n he's
a lesning act, can't we But yeah, look, he is
a fine little player, but you're right in saying little
and he can't help it.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
That's there.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
He was borting, but he's got exceptional speed. But to
match a coach who's something like six three six four
in the air and he can jump, you know you're
going to be ten foot to compete with them. So
there was always going to be a mismatch that side,
and they made the most of it with their kicks.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Do the Warriors have a mental block against Melbourne?

Speaker 6 (11:17):
I think most most teams do, to be honest. I mean,
especially in Melbourne and Amy Park, And if you go
back through the record, I think must be ten ten
odd years since we've beat them over there.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
So yeah, I think it could be a mental thing.

Speaker 6 (11:31):
But you know, these days, I mean, you know, they're
all good stadiums and they're all the same grass, and
you just got to get out there and put things
like that, put history behind you, and you can beat
any team on your day if you do the basics
right and you believe you can win it.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
What do you make of the Warriors attack of the
Warriors tackle plays?

Speaker 6 (11:54):
To be honest, I think they're pretty conservative, and yeah
they could be they could be a lot better. But
I just think the Latin shar speed sheer pace. You know.
I think Metcalf's showing sign here and there, and in fact,
the best part of his game was that that tackle
on the Twitter try saving tackle in the thood minute.

(12:15):
It was nothing short of brilliant. So he's going to
get better and better. And he has got speed, but
we haven't got too many explosive centers and wingers that
have really got speed. So yeah, we're big and we're strong,
but we lack the speed of some of these other sides.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
I mean, what if you had to put your finger
on one thing. If we look forward now, I suppose
the Broncos next week, that's not a hell of a
lot easier, is it. What do you think the Warriors
is the biggest thing that they need to brush up on.
If we just say I'll flush that first half against
the Storm, what is the number one thing they need
to fix this week?

Speaker 6 (12:52):
I believe ball control. If you get your ball control
ride and you get your complete your sets, you're going
to stay in the game. You know, get to the
kick good, kick good chase and really just doing the
basics ride. If you do those correct, then you're in
the game. And you know they've only got a hold
on them. Well, I mean, how many times did we
see you know, stupid passes or drop balls. I mean,

(13:15):
they've just got to concentrate that little bit more and
the longer they're into the game, the better chance they
got a winning a game. So yeah, they're giving their
games away a little bit too early at times. But
you know, I wouldn't be too upset. Put that one
behind you, get on with the next game, upset the Broncos,
and your back in business.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
This is obviously a young Warriors team. They've had a
lot of change in the last year in the off season.
Is this just part of the journey?

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Do you think in twenty twenty five that we've got
this building year and there's going to be a bit
of ebb and flow. Some low performances and some high performances,
and consistency might be the difficult thing to come by.

Speaker 6 (13:56):
There's no difference to what we say every year. It's
all about consistency. And we're on a roller coaster every year.
You hit the high points and they are high, and
you hit the low points and the low there's nothing
in between. With the worries. We all know that that's
what makes you know the writer it is. But you're right,
you know we've got to get more consistency. But you

(14:17):
know we we're got We've got a pretty good team
there that can you compete beat the best teams on
the day, but they just got to do it more often.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
This is the Big League podcast.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
This is going yeah, the Big League podcast on the
Warrior is Bad Wagons.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
It's d one so valuable to get the insight of
former Keywy's coach Frank Indocott any thoughts on what.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
He had to say. Bird. I love Frank.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
I think he's a great man, and he he makes
a lot of sense to a degree, like the fact
that one of the key points he made is that
they can't dwell on this for too long. And I
think as a fan, even a journalist, you get a
bit sick, a bit sick of players and coaches sometimes
just saying, oh, well, we'll reviewed that, that's over, because

(15:06):
often matches you can learn things from last and you've
got to maybe dig a bit deeper. But in this case,
the Storm, it is such a different scenario playing them
to playing most other teams that there's a few things
to look at, but they just do need to move
on quickly and almost forget about it rather than dig
through the dregs for the next few days and really get.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Down about it.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
To be on.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
I did like what he said as well about the
ball control. I thought that was an issue. But the
thing that stood out from another point you made was
when you asked him about fifth tackle options, and he said, yeah,
I think the Warriors are a bit conservative, and that's
a very good it's a very good word. The Warriors
are still quite predictable when it comes to what they're

(15:48):
doing on the fifth tack. If you look at the
Storm and the way they're so good at trapping people
in the end goal, at putting grubbers through. The Warriors
kicks are quite easy to read or they get caught
with the ball, or there's sort of just there's one
option instead of two or three that the Storm might have,
which keeps the defensive defense in two minds a lot

(16:08):
to a lot to think about.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Let's go through this game in a bit more detail.
The Storm just looked untouchable in the first half and
you seed in your matcha report birds that it looked
like it was like watching touch. Rugby captain Mitch barnett
Is offered this assessment, we.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Needed to get our hit and tackle on.

Speaker 7 (16:25):
Blokes were sort of trying, blokes were missing their job
and is just making it hard.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
We'll burning the candle at both ends. In terms of
following up with there.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Is the game was just seemed so open when Melbourne
had the balls. Xavier Coat was on fire. But as
we heard from Frank Endercott, he was set up by
Ryan Pappenhausen. A lot of the time that left edge
for the Warriors, our right warriors right edge defense, Storms
left edge. It was just getting torn to shreds.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
It was and who's on that right is that that's
Pey two A Pecky metcalf and the Corday and Barry.
It was a tough initiation for Rockerberry's first match of
the season to put him in there. There'll be questions
raised about webs the decision to do that, because it
could have just stuck with the status quo from last

(17:14):
week and keep with that same defensive structure. WEBS might say, well, look,
Barry gets the run on Sunday and it'll be better
for the game that's come out against the Broncos.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
And maybe he plays well against the Broncos.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
Okay, but yeah, obviously obviously issues and you could see
the Storm targeting that left edge both with their kicking
and just with their general play. But the question is
how do you stop them? The biggest way to stop
the Storm has stop them getting the roll on, you know,
that's the one thing you've got to try and do.

(17:48):
But the Warriors could not slow down the ruck. They
like they were just backpedaling, went there the whole time,
and the Storm is so fast out of dummy half,
so fast to get rolling again, and then the Warriors
are fatigued. They can't get the ball back. It just
sort of it just snowballs and snowballs, and it's we've
seen it before, but it's it's horrible to watch.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
And I touched on this with Frank, but Taane to
a peaky My worry as you remember me bringing up
weeks ago. Burge with Taine was his size, his height,
which is something he can't control, right and he can't
just go and grow two foot. But he was shown
up in the air against Xavier Coats, against whom he
really has no shot given Coach's height and his jumping ability,

(18:29):
and in the second half Coach the second try, Coach
just ran straight over the top of Taine and crashed
over the line with a couple other defenders on his back.
Do we just need corsi on the way? Do we
just need I know we were short on wingers given
the injuries, but if we're coming up against the team
with a winger who was six three six', four do

(18:49):
we just need to go on.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
SIZE i, mean the issue is they haven't got any
wingers at the, moment and SO. Cossi, yeah they bring
A corsy, back but they're probably not Gonna he's not
gonna Drop. Tane he's been pretty happy with What tane's.
Doing the other question is what do you do About
pompy And. Bear you, know there's an argument pomp is
actually quite a good start to the. Season does he

(19:12):
deserve to lose his place just Because barry was the
frontline guy last?

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Year not.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
SURE i, mean we don't see everything that happens in,
training but there are some issues. THERE i, mean the
thing With taine they, lack As frank also, said the
warrior's lack of bit of, pace and he does bring,
pace and so far they've managed to get away with
his lack of. Height you, know they got away with
it against The roosters when they Had roosters have got

(19:37):
really tall wing. Is it was only really The storm
game where he's been. Exposed, obviously teams will continue to do,
it but Now i'm. Balance for, Me i'm happy With tayane.
THERE i think he brings a lot more pros Than.
CON's but there are a lot of things to work
out with this back line because, GENERALLY i don't know
what you, think but generally The fords are going fairly

(19:59):
well The fords, generally you, know it's hard to make
a judgment on, Yesterday i'm going to agree with that,
yet but generally over the season they've been going fairly,
well doing their jobs rolling. Forward but it's the back,
line the attack that hasn't been. Clicking they're desperately Missing
roger And dell AND i guess you'd, say and they've
got things to work.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Out the Jackson ford, synbinning which we touched on briefly
at the, start.

Speaker 5 (20:24):
It was just.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
NEEDLESS i was watching it AND i just had my
face in my hands because he drags Down, pappenhausen who
was a support runner when they had a break down
the right, wing and it was a try scoring opportunity for.
ME i felt the sin beinning was. Deserved during the
time Jackson ford was off the, field The warriors conceded
eighteen points and the game was.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
Gone, yeah three tries in nine. Minutes it was a
dumb play By.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
Ford these things, HAPPENED i, mean but not sure if
it was a symbourn because it was a long long
way from the try. Line it wasn't like a stone
cold professional. Foul but the thing for me Is. Melbourne
what is frustrating for a lot of people Is melbourne
get away so much.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
Themselves you, know the way they're offside so.

Speaker 4 (21:09):
Much there's some little things in the ruck where they
get in the way and the ref would sort of
let it. Go another time A melbourne player sort of
ran from dummy half ran behind his own, player bit
of a shepherd let it. Go so they're the, masters
are doing all these little things that add up to
helping them, dominate but they don't get pinged, for Whereas
ford does something pretty obvious gets. Pinged, yeah you just

(21:33):
can't afford to be sindin against the. Storm BUT i
thought it was debatable because we've seen other ones of
those let. Go BUT i guess Once metcalf had done
the try saving, tackle what do you do as a?
Referee do you go back and give a penalty or
do you give the professional? Foul it was, tough tough.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
CALL i thought it was a brilliant tackle From metcalf
in the, corner but ultimately and Coach Andrew webster, said
poor defense. OVERALL i mean they just couldn't execute their game.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Plan we used to our jobs at.

Speaker 7 (22:03):
TIMES i mean a lot at the, start particularly like
we look likely we'll go out to, score and then
there's big momentum swings and he didn't handle it well at,
all and they'd go down the other end and score straight.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Away how much of an impact do you, Think, James
the loss Of James Fisher harris was because he went
off with a peck injury and we don't know the
extent of that at this. Stage charsnick a Crook star
as well failed AT, hia so there's two more injuries.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
To two more key.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Players webster Said Fisher harris's absence wasn't the core cause
of the.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
Issues it looked like we weren't going well when anyone.

Speaker 7 (22:38):
OFF i, mean we're rather having, there but it's nothing
excuse Where we've got seventeen players that were believe in
they can do the job and know their roles and
know what's.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
REQUIRED i, mean it's a good.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
POINT i think there were already some ominous, signs but
it was it was a big blow, mentally if anything.
Else you, know you're taking on the storm blazing hot,
afternoon big occasion and you lose your co captain and
the guy that a lot of the players and That
warrior's team look up. To it's you, know it's a
real it's a hammer blow for a, team especially This warriors.

(23:10):
Team so it definitely hurt Because Fisher harris is so
good defensively around that. Ruck he's the guy that would
have tied up a few more of those runners would
have slowed down the ruck with his. Experience he's played
the song so, much so definitely. Hurt but the more
of a way for me is that it's going to
hurt much more over the next few. Weeks you, know
that game was probably already gone or was definitely knew

(23:32):
which way it was. Going but his absence over the
next few, weeks and it's going to be at least
a few, weeks isn't It that will be. Hard we
briefly mentioned the fifth tackle plays being a little bit
of an. Issue is this just a thing where we
just need to be, patient because Obviously frank said is.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
Conservative, YEAH i mean we.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
Do we do need to be patient guys that are
still learn their, trade and we're probably been spoiled By Sean,
johnson especially in twenty twenty, three who was one of
the best in the.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
Competition fifth tackle.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
Plays he thread the, needle he'd make the right decision
invariably with a pass or a. Kick the wider, issue,
though which to kind of stood out On, sunday Is
metcalf looks really good when he's a bit wider of the,
ruck i. E you, know playing more of a five ot,
role doesn't he because that's where he started to make the.
Impact SO i do wonder If webster's thinking about HAVE

(24:23):
i got it right with the seven and the?

Speaker 3 (24:25):
Six you know YOU i don't.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
Know it's a funny one because you don't want to
get too credible what you saw On. Sunday BUT i
do Like metcalf's pace out. Wide he did run a
lot more so Is chanel the organizer or more of
the organizer And metcalf gets a.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
Bit of a freer.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
Role i'm not, sure but because to, Me Shanelle harristavs
looked like the better. Kicker he looks like he's the
one who's played the better halfback. Role and like you,
say When metcalf's a bit further wide of the, ruck
when he's got a bit more, space i.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
E the five eighth, role that's when he looks his. Best,
yeah he's.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
Dangerous he's a player that will worry opposition defenses as
he did when he used to play Alongside. Sean so
he can still run as a half, back but it's
so congested if he's just a bit. Wider so now
he's got a lot more experience as a half as
in the inner l in, general really tricky one because
Then webster, thinks, no wait a, minute met cast my.

(25:21):
HALFBACK i want to put time into. HIM i want
to build. HIM i can't worry about five. Games i've
got to worry about where it is in fifteen. Games,
tricky BUT i do LIKE i like the idea Of
metcalf at six afe to say.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
The interchange worked well for The, wirise AS i think
you mentioned in your Metroport birge with the likes Of Halaesima,
WEIMARNGA i thought definitely made an impact in that second
half and hit help them get a bit more go.

Speaker 6 (25:45):
Forward.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
YEAH i like the look of those young. Guys also
like What bunty's. DOING i, Mean bunty's kind of forgotten.
Man he wouldn't be playing if it wasn't for. Injuries
but he looks like a guy that wants to prove
a point and he's he's a big. Body he does soak,
up soak up some. Punishment SO i think he's still
got a place even though people think he's probably yesterday's.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
MAN i think he went.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
Well WHAT i liked about the young, guys you, know
it's an occasion that's quite difficult to come into but
they're willing to make their mark and they're getting a
bit smarter about how they do.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
Things so there's plenty of promise. There BUT i think it's.

Speaker 4 (26:21):
SMART i Heard Steve roach on the commentary a couple
of times, saying, oh these guys are going to be starting.
Soon they're going so. Well BUT i like it as
them on the. INTERCHANGE i think it's you, know you've
got to be patient with, them but some good. Signs
and we have to Mention Aaron. CLARK i thought he
was probably the standout. Again he's been just about the
best forward in almost each of the each of the

(26:43):
first five, games so fantastic by he.

Speaker 3 (26:46):
Really is bigly podcast.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
Right The warriors to play The broncos On saturday night
At Mount. Smart The broncos coming off a surprise twenty
six to sixteen loss to The Sydney roosters In. Brisbane
they said third on the ladder with four wins two.
Losses they've been a little bit up and. DOWN i
sort of expected them to be a bit more consistent
so far this.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
Season.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
Birds they've had a little bit of not, drama but
off season talk with half Back Adam. Reynolds at this
stage without a contract next, year he says he's sort
of thinking about he might have to wind down after
this year unless someone picks him up full back Of.
Reese walsh's form has been a bit. Patchy what are
the big things where you have to think about going
into this, Game, Budge.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
Well think about The.

Speaker 4 (27:30):
Broncos you, know they Just round one performance where they
blew The roosters away fifty points on them from, Memory everyone's,
like holy, shit this is going to be.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
Amazing maguire has turned this team. Around da da da.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
Da, da and they've been good since. Then but they
did have that loss to The. Raiders so But friday
night really surprised me watching the. Game The broncos scored
an early try in the second, half so you, think,
okay they're back in. It deficit reduced to two or four,
points they're going to come home strong at, home but they.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Didn't roosters hung on and.

Speaker 4 (28:00):
Won. Well so, yeah a few questions about The broncos
just in terms of their mental, resolve but in terms
of what The warriors have got to watch out. For
The broncos offloating. Game you, know the off floating game is.
Brilliant their halves. COMBINATION i really Like Ben hunt and
what he's brought to this. Team he's such a smart,
player So hunting reynolds their kicking. Game The warriors have

(28:23):
got so many things to think about On saturday. Night
but but it might be the kind of team you
want to play after what they winter On.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
Sunday The broncos cop a little bit of stick for
being the pretty boy party boy roosters of THE nrl
forgive the forgive the. Punt do you think that's? Valid
is that criticism valid or are people just being a
bit jealous and having a bit of tall poppy. Syndrome
but does that actually play into their? Campaign do you think?

Speaker 6 (28:49):
It?

Speaker 4 (28:49):
Certainly they certainly looked last year they got a lot
of grief about that sort of thing as their campaign
went off the rails after doing so well the year.
BEFORE i, mean they're they're the only team in. TOWN i,
mean The dolphins are there, now but there's such a
big team that get some media. COVERAGE i don't, know
when you See Jesse arthur's with the with the blonde
highlights and his, HAIR i don't, know it just sort

(29:09):
of gives off a bit of an impression, that But
i'm Sure michael maguire would have straightened some of that.
Out he's a he's a pretty smart. Coach i'm really
looking forward to him being back here and having the
chance to have a chat to him after the. Game
so he's a smart. Coach he would have worked. Out
BUT i think the thing you're alluding to is, that

(29:31):
AND i think you're. Right there are still questions about The.
Broncos do they have the right. Culture there's still some
questions about.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
THAT i don't.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
MIND i don't mind the whole pretty, boy party boy
image BECAUSE i feel like it gives, everyone gives everyone
a team to hate just for superficial. Reasons and in
a team as big as THE, nrl you've got to
have one team like.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
That The Big league on The, Warriors Bad wagons since day,
One Big, Hits The Big League, Podcast Right bird's.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
Quick fire predictions for this.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Week you can anyone's making money out of THE nrl this?
Year is anyone making money at the? TAB i don't.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
Know you're a brave man to bet on most in
errour games because it is so hard to call seagulls. Dragons,
EXAMPLE a what do you Do seagules just coming off
of a, Lost dragons going, well coming off a. Win
but The seagas are at. HOME i do like them At,
brookie So i'll stick With i'll stick With. MANLY i

(30:39):
had to go past many at. Home bulldogs are. Bunnies,
yes bulldogs off the, buy still, unbeaten still top of the.
TABLE i don't particularly like The, bulldogs but they are
playing well and they should be too good for the
Rabbit o's.

Speaker 6 (30:55):
Have got some.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Injuries although the Rabbit o's coming on for.

Speaker 4 (30:58):
Lost you don't often See Wayne bennett coach teams lose
a couple in a.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
Row do you not Like Phil? Gould is that where
you don't like The? Bulldogs?

Speaker 4 (31:07):
YEAH i Think Phil goods got a bit too is
a bit too big for his. Boots it takes quite
a bit of credit for. Things if you Read Ivan cleary's,
book you might understand a bit more About yeah feel.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Good i'm going to agree with you, There Dolphin.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
Storm i'm not going to tip against the storm for
a long long, time maybe during the origin, period but
for those ones you can just write it in for.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
Me warriors versus The, Broncos birds do they bounce.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
Back, yeah where do we?

Speaker 7 (31:36):
Go?

Speaker 3 (31:36):
Here where do we? Go The broncos will be.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
Favorites i'm pretty sure that they'll be quite hearty favorites
at THE, TB i would, say but you can't write
off The.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
Warriors there'll be issues they've.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
Got, NO i Guess tane will be at the, back
so your, boy of, course you will probably probably have
to come in reshaped.

Speaker 3 (31:54):
Lineup AND i will.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
Without Fish harris. Too, Jeez i'll tip The. Warriors i'm
not sure how they're going to, win BUT i think
they could bounce. Back, No i'm, Sorry James Fisher harris
isn't going to be. There charsical cooksart going to be.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
There they just don't have enough, troops And i'm going
to go with The broncos to win roosters versus The,
panthers who are.

Speaker 4 (32:16):
Useless, yeah we haven't even talked about The. Panthers they're
in a real they're in a real. HOLE i was
ridding The Daily telegraph over the weekend and two of
their main riders have written off The, panthers saying they
can't make that they're. Gone the other guy's saying they still,
can but they've got to turn things around. Quickly you,
know they've got, problems have hit the. Wall we've seen

(32:36):
this before with teams that have all the success and
then eventually they can't keep it.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
Going and The rooster's. Hues they're just coming off a.
Win i'll tip The panthers.

Speaker 4 (32:45):
Here surely they will get going again because they're still
on just they're still on one win for the, season
so surely.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
They will get. Going but it's going to be. Close boy, here,
boy first Time i'm tipping against The. Panthers they haven't
won in The Southern hemisphere this. Year, Burge, no they.
Haven't good point. Geez Titans. Raiders i'll go with The raiders,
here but both teams are in quite good. Form raiders
better than anyone. Thought The titans have shown some spark

(33:11):
even they were the recent wins in their. Form so
But i'll go with The. RAIDERS i LIKE i Like
camber this.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
Year disagreement this round going to go to The titans
for The Knights. Sharks, buzzer, buzzer. BUZZER i think The
knights have got some.

Speaker 4 (33:25):
ISSUES i, mean the way they lost to The tigers at,
home it just seemed pretty listless and.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Stuff at a twenty zero loss the week before.

Speaker 4 (33:34):
That, yeah he, Is but to be at home against The,
tigers who are a good a good young, team but
they're not will beats all this talk About Kaylen ponger going,
somewhere and by the, way The warriors have not talked
to him at all as far AS i, understand just
to shut down all those rumors.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
Online but he can't be happy.

Speaker 4 (33:53):
With this sort of situation where he's in a team
that's just getting flogged at im he's at fullback and
not going.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
ANYWHERE i don't, know but they've got. ISSUES i Think.

Speaker 4 (34:00):
Sharks sharks will be too good for, THEM i, think
And newcastle's seed to be, spiraling spiraling.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
Downwards shark to win that. One and finally The. Tigers
this is your favorite team that.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
Eels, yes The battle of The, West bloody.

Speaker 4 (34:15):
Hell these two teams you, know really don't like each,
other big rivalry from back in the.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
Day with these.

Speaker 4 (34:20):
Teams i'll go with The tigers here because, man the
spirit they showed against The, knights and they played quite
well against The warriors with all those. Injuries So benji's
boys on a.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
Roll The tigers just eels rather just shelled fifty points
against The, yeah So i'm going to go with The
tigers as.

Speaker 5 (34:39):
Well But, brad you.
