Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, all right, all right, Yes, indeed you are
the author of your story, of your journal.
Speaker 2 (00:10):

And who better to get to know dear journal? Big
spend in New York.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Who would have thought that shopping with Julian Newmarket four
years ago would turn into this. On these trips, I
get to look at it through the lens of my camera,
and I've been absolutely spoilt. The days have been perfect,
the colors mesmerizing, the fiery reds and bright yellows of autumn.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
They're just brilliant.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
And the things we have done, Gosh, shopping in the Hamptons,
Nascar at Waltkins, Glean, Jason walking into a revolving door,
Pisa at Angelo's, watching a Broadway show, Niagara Falls, the
Pumpkin Blaze, and flying in a biplane and the people
Tony and Jason never disappointed. Producer Rosie. I love traveling
with you guys, But Teresa and Grace, the warmth enthusiasm
(00:55):
has shown no bounce despite an exhausting schedule.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
I'll admit I'm an emotional kind of guy. I well
up when I watch certain TV ads. I get terry
when my kids get a certificate at school assemblies. I
get a lump in my throat when I think about
how much I've missed being home with my wife and
our little family and my dog Ted. What's really brought
a tear to my eye was when I've looked back
over these last few days. Spending time with our big
spender winner Terresa and her daughter Grace has been wonderful.
(01:40):
Seeing them thrive as a little team of two has
been aspiring. Watch them get joy from things like the
colors of the fiery orange trees in New York, or
the dazzling lights of Times Square, or the waterfall sprat
Niagara Falls, or begging bargains while shopping has It's been
beautiful to watch They've been through so much with the
loss of Teresa's husband, and Grace's dad, and to see them,
(02:03):
to be able to find some happiness has just been
an absolute honor. I'm so thankful to have met them,
and I'm thankful to my little family of workmates. We've
literally spent almost every minute together and I've lasted so much.
I'm thankful to my wife for holding everything together at home.
And I'm really thankful to our wonderful neighbor Mike, who
happily and surprisingly mowed our.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Lawns while Louise was at work becaus in you hours away.
Thank you very much.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
Everything that's happened and everyone I've been with and everything
I've seen has reminded me how lucky I am.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
I hope you know how grateful and thankful I am.
I think that's the exhaustion talking there is welling up.
I'm just on Theresa and Grace Sue. Last night we
did a sort of a big summary interview of the
trip with them and got their reflections, and it's going
to be really cool to see that video, so watch
out for that on social media next week, Dear journal.
(02:54):
This week, I've learned to listen about preconceived ideas I've
been wanting to come to New York for a very
long time. It's a theater lover's dream to watch a
show on Broadway. Not to mention the shopping, the iconic landmarks,
and what we've seen in the movies. But just like
the lyrics from Alicia Key's famous song, I thought New
York was simply a concrete jungle where dreams are made of.
But it's so much more than that. And I had
(03:16):
no idea, to be honest, I didn't realize New York
had so much space, so many gorgeous, quaint villages, not
unlike something that you might see in Europe. I never
in a million years thought I'd be likening lots of
the state to Arrowtown in New Zealand. Yes, New York
City was everything I dreamed.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
It would be.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
But I'll leave the US most excited to tell people
about Dutchess County and the Fingerlakes, the beauty that as Key,
we don't necessarily expect or maybe haven't bothered to discover.
That's where the hidden gems have been, And now that
I've seen them, I'm so excited to get back to
Altor and spread the word.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
I love it, thank you.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
It's just never from our journals. Hope you've had a
really nice weekend. Either way, you're weaken your long weekend
is even better.
