The Christmas season is probably the most stressful time of the year, and it can be more stressful when you know you have to get a gift for someone but just have no ideas.

Luckily for you, Toni's here to help. Over the next couple of weeks, she'll be sharing her gift recommendations for women, men, mums, dads, children, and everyone in between!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Tony Streets Christmas Gift Guide twenty twenty four.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
This could honestly say people's Christmases.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
I love this. Yeah, this is the charity gift Guide
and I think if you have the means to be
able to add this into the other gifts that you're getting,
maybe family and friends, I would suggest you do. So
we've just heard from Sarah Paige from the Kindness Collective,
So that's my first suggestion today. Twenty bucks you can
fill a fridge. Fifty bucks. You can match with a
family and you can make their Christmas amazing. And so

(00:26):
far the Kindness Collective have provided forty four thousand toys
for Tamadinki. Over sixteen thousand key we kids have been
supported at Christmas in fifty eight regions across the country.
That's just phenomenal. And do you know how many volunteers
they have, nine hundred and twenty people just give up
their time to help. I was out at the Joy
Store the other day and a detective was out there

(00:48):
packing groceries and then she's like, oh, I better go,
I've got my shift. So she did that before a shift. Wow,
were you out there getting those three toys? I was
out there donating toys. Thank you, Sam. So that's the
kind collect give inappropriate. It's kindness dot org dot inzid.
If you want to help, you write it down, Sam
I am. I am an ambassador for this charity Variety

(01:10):
and they have been operating in New Zealand for a
long time. Variety dot org dott in z. Now there's
a couple of ways you can help Variety. You can
be a Keywekid sponsor where you regularly donate every month
and we have a child, a Kiwi child that actually
had their entire house burned down and they had to
start from scratch. But if you're not up for the
regular donation forty eight dollars by a variety, we will

(01:32):
give a child a day of festive food forty eight bucks.
Make sure they're feed on Christmas. Eighty two dollars will
do a family of two. One hundred and ninety four
will give a child a week of tasty food and
four hundred and sixty two dollars if you can stretch
that far, will feed a family of four over the
entire Christmas week. World Vision if you want to look

(01:52):
further afield, and we all know that the world is
in crisis at the moment. So if you want to
support the Middle East their crisis, appeal for one to
six dollars worth of urgent aid, So you'd give one dollar,
six dollars of aid will get donated directly to those
on the West Bank and Lebanon. That's Worldvision dot all
dotting zero. Itetting propped up by these sponsors. It's amazing,

(02:13):
I know, so I don't know that you're going to
get at times by six, it's pretty amazing. For the
Fred Hollows, we've talked about that here on coast, giving
the gift of site fifty dollars. Every fifty dollars specsavers.
I didn't know this will match every donation, so they
match it, so they double the donation and you can buy,
if you want a physical gift from Fred Hollows, the

(02:35):
Fred Hollows beer, which is super cutey beer. Go and
buy that for one hundred dollars and you're going to
give a child their site back. Like when you put
it in those terms, it's like such a small price
to pay. And the last suggestion I have today, you
might remember this name, Sonia Wilson. Does that ring a bell?
Sonya Wilson was a one News reporter. She worked on
twenty twenty, among other shows at TVNZ and for one News.

(02:59):
She has a charity called Kiwi Christmas Books dot org
dot nz. You can choose a brand new book, you
send it to Kiwi Christmas Books and they will make
sure that it gets in the hands of kids that
in a lot of cases have never owned their own book.
I love this. You just send it to her and
she'll make sure it gets where it needs to go.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
She's another example of her books spreading far and wide
as well.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Yeah, so Kiwi Christmas Books dot org dot nz.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
And also one well quick as well, like every time
we play the chases. At the moment, we're giving away
a Christmas Box and if you want to know more
about that, basically what it does helps a family and
need you know, remind them that they're not being forgotten
at Christmas time. So you can make a forty dollars
donation gives I'm sixty books with a food and feeding
for a family of four to six and it's at
Christmas Box dot co dot nz.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Love it so that she charity Gift Guide.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
