Speaker 1 (00:00):
Tony Streams Christmas Gift Guide twenty pretty four.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Today we're talking experiences and this is probably one of
my favorite categories because you receive the like the voucher
on Christmas Day and then you get to go and
use it on another day, so it's double the joy.
And I'm going to start with something very close to
my heart and that is tickets to the theater. And
I think this is such a great gift because you
can get it so that you can actually enjoy this
(00:24):
with the person you're buying the tickets for. So the
hot new show to go and see next year in
Auckland is Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. So a lot
of people traveled up for Matilda and said, I've got
to come to the next one that G and T
is doing, and that is Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
So ticket Master, the tickets are already on sale now.
That is as professional and as great as theater gets
(00:46):
in New Zealand. If you want to go to a
touring show, the hot one is six and that is
via ticket Master too, And that's come across from Australia
and it's the story of Henry the Eighth's Wives, So
you got the wives on and I think it's essentially
about them were bidding to be.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
The best wife, and apparently it's.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Very very funny. What about a voucher to go to
a high tea? High tea is such a special occasion
and I actually think if you've got grandchildren, this would
be a really cool one for them. So the high
tea that the Cordus Hotel is about to release that
starts on January the fourth is themed with the care Bears.
(01:26):
The care Bears High Tea that just really speaks to me,
and I think it sort of spans generations. So I
think if you wanted to take kids to that one,
it's seventy dollars per child, seventy five per adult if
you were looking for not necessarily.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
A kid for a high tea.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
The Hilton does a festive high tea, so you could
take them over the Christmas period. And we can attest
to the fact that their high t is amazing because
we had our bridgeton high Tea there and they do
a wonderful job. It's a beautiful setting overlooking Auckland Harbor
and it's just got a really cozy vibe no matter
what the weather is like.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
While we're speaking of.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
The Hilton, because they well that's a place that we've
gone quite a few times here because we went and
had the book club live here for remember the Tony
Street book Club that was at the Hilton too. They
and a few of the girls here at the Coast
Team have just gone and done their mixology masterclass. So
you get to do three cocktails, plus you get cannopas
while you're there one hundred and fifteen dollars and they
(02:21):
teach you how to make cocktails and the girls said
it was amazing. So I've got that down to something
that I would like to do. It's at the Billini
Bar at the Hilton Auckland. You could do one in
your local area as well.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Just google it.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
I'm sure they'd have some options. What about a face
up vouch out?
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Now? I discovered this when I m.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Seed for Boost Lab skincare and there was a woman
there called Olga and she is creating waves in New
Zealand for having a form of massage that is like
a natural boat ox.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Apparently now I've never done it, but what they.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Do do basically is they like sculpt your face through
massage to basically give you a face lift without any
of the injectibles or the.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Lifting cool day like it just get them a good
gift too.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
It's not really so much of an experience, is it.
I don't know how long does it take? Sammy ten minutes.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
So we were just talking about the cocktail making classes.
There's a lot of gin distilleries around the country as
well where you can go and make your own gin.
And I actually had this down to do for a
Hen's Do and we had to cancel it at the
last minute because I can't remember why in the end,
but I was all set to do it where you
go and you make the gin and then you get
that bottle of gin to take.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
Away as a gift.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
So I think that would be a really cool idea.
What about a sports event ticket? And there are some
hot tickets in town, so you could go to one
of the football matches between either the Wellington Phoenix game
Auckland FC. You could get tickets to the Sale GP
which is coming to Auckland. What about the ASB Classic Tennis?
If anyone got me tickets to any of those, I
(03:56):
would be so happy, totally.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Can I add to it? Yeah, just because. The greatest
thing I've ever done in terms of experiences is the
Audi snow Driving Day at the summer. The hemisphry proving around.
It's four and a half grand. It's a hell of
a thing, but you only have to do it once
in your lifetime. And as you stand, five star accommodation.
The food is amazing. You need to thrash around in
the RS range of the cars. It is just one
of the greatest things you'll ever do. You can't redeem
(04:18):
that until winter in August.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Yeah, I like it, Sammy our Widow water Park. This
is one of the coolest things we've done as a team.
You go in a raft and you get to go
through all of the slalom like a proper kayak.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
The most underutilized thing in Auckland. It is so good.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
I think so too.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
And it's South Auckland, so if you're anywhere sort of
in the central North Island it's really easy.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
For you to get to too.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
