Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi. I'm Holly Fry, host of Stuff You Missed in
History Class, and as a woman podcaster, I know how
important it is to amplify women's voices in this space.
That is why I am so excited to be talking
with a woman who is on her way to be
one of tomorrow's leading voices in podcasting. She's one of

(00:22):
the ten winners of Seneca Women to Hear search for
the Next Great Female Podcasters, created in partnership with PNG
and The Card by Seneca Women, Howard by MasterCard and Deserve.
After six weeks of training at the Seneca Women Podcast Academy,
she'll be launching her own show on the Seneca Women
Podcast Network with My Heart. I am delighted as pie

(00:46):
to be talking today to Dalia Wild. Dolia, I know
a little bit about you, but I would like you
to introduce yourself to listeners. Oh Hello, I'm Dolia Wild.
This show called Oh my God, Particle Show, which is
so amazing because I got to go third of a
mile underground into the large Hadron collider. Somehow I cooked

(01:07):
up this theater piece about how women could evaluate the
universe and to help inspire girls to get into particle
physics and stem and then I kind of generalized it
into being about encouraging girls and women to use their imagination.
And my whole life, I've been interested in worre science
and arn't meat and how do we get just like

(01:28):
all of us as science just a different language, how
do we all talk to each other. I love that
you're kind of bridging this gap and making science more accessible.
But I'm wondering, since this did start as a play,
at what point were you, like, you know, what it
needs to be is a podcast. What got you into podcasting? Well?
You called posters people like Mark Marron. They're basically performing right.

(01:53):
So I literally I had been on Vital Voices, which
is an amazing organization, and then I saw this podcast
thing and I literally whipped it up with some David
Bowie space oddity, spoken a couple of different languages. I've
been really supported by sag after Us, so there's sounding
engineers helped me and I just did it literally in
five minutes. I think that's really important though, because I'm

(02:16):
an overthinker, and I think that's what the play is
about too. I mean, we need to think, we need
to evaluate, we need facts and science and I hope
that this will by talking to lots of fun geniuses
like Einstein. Aw he said imagination was more important than knowledge,
but we need the knowledge. But for this, I literally
just let my wild self out and not seeming to

(02:38):
be what the world needs now is our originality, right,
and to just let that part of us out. So
how does it feel to know that your originality and
that passion and that fire that you have is what
ended up making you become selected by Seneca Women to
hear as part of this initiative to really get underrepresented

(03:01):
voices out there in podcasting with a support network. I
think that's really special. And now you'm gonna make me
start crying. It's just so important to see and hear people.
So I hope, as I in my old age, if
I can do that to other girls and and help people,
because I missed that in a big part of my
life that um, I grew up in a place where

(03:23):
I wasn't always heard and seen or understood. So I
think that's just so important to be heard. There's a
lot of noise in the world right now, right and
so I hope if I can do that, just have
if I can inspire someone to use their imagination more
and to contribute. I love it. I cannot wait to

(03:44):
discover all that you have in store with your project.
Thank you so much, Dollia for spending time with me today.
Oh I hope I answered your questions. I'm happy to
come on this journey and contribute in any way I can.
Inspiring word from one of the winners of Seneca Women
to hear search for the next great female podcasters. So

(04:06):
excited to hear her podcast launching later this year alongside
nine other amazing podcasts from talented, up and coming female
voices with support from p and founding partner of the
Seneca Women Podcast Network with its brands like Pantine, Olay,
and Secret, PNG is dedicated to creating a more equal
world where we see equal, choose equal, and here Equal.
