Speaker 1 (00:03):
I'm weird, You're weird. We're all weird about money. Hi.
I'm Paco de Leone. I'm a personal finance expert, author
and illustrator, and together with the incredibly generous corporate overlords
at iHeartMedia, we'd like to proudly present to you a
brand new podcast called Weird Finance, a show to help

(00:24):
us all feel a little less weird about money, one
conversation at a time. Each week, me and a special
guest will do the thing that many consider taboo, ghosh
and downright tackey. We're gonna talk about money. We're finess.
People will give all of their financial information. We know

(00:47):
every dirty detail of their debt and their salary and
their network, as I like to say, their secret white
people money. They're so much secret inheritance money. You don't
know about secret white people money is kind of unfortunately,
like it's like a part of the capitalistic society that
we live in, and it's kind of impossible to avoid.

(01:09):
Of course, since this is a show about money, I'll
talk to fellow experts across the field of finance funns
and we realize there isn't a space for people of
color to really talk about this because one we were
taught in our communities that it was taboo to talk
about money, and for a lot of our parents, they

(01:30):
didn't know how to teach us, and they got us
to the point where're like, Okay, you went to college.
Now you're going to be the one who can help us.
We'll expand our worldview and learn new things. Funness. Money
was never talked about. We didn't have a lot of money.
Money was never discussed in our household at all. Beyond

(01:52):
the practical and emotional aspects of money, will also descend
into the fringe to explore just how weird world of
money can get. So if you want to feel a
little less weird about money, get a little better at
dealing with it, and you also want to hear people
have honest and real conversations, then tune into Weird Finance,

(02:15):
available on the iHeartRadio app or wherever you get podcasts.
