(00:30):
I want to welcome in the next guest to the
Hour of the congress woman that many of you are
currently served by in Washington, DC, and many more of
you are going to be served by when she wins
into fourth Congressional District, Congressman Lauren Bobert on the hotline. Congressman,
welcome back to the program.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
How are you.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Good morning, Jimmy. I am doing fantastic. It's a beautiful
day in northern Colorado.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
It is absolutely a beautiful day and things are feeling good.
I'm kind of optimistic about this upcoming election. First of all,
talk about your race in the fourth Congressional District. It
will be a new seat for you, a new district
to represent kind of how is the how does it
how does it march forward?

Speaker 1 (01:07):
And what are you learning about the CD four and
the great people there.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Yes, while this has been an exciting election season from
the primary to the general, and I'm excited that so
many people trusted me to be the nominee in the
general election here in the fourth District, and we're winning, Jimmy,
that's plain and simple. We have the right policies, the
right issues. I have an army full of messengers who

(01:36):
are communicating that we are the ones who can get
Colorado and our nation turned back around and to serve
alongside President Trump in his next term. You know one
thing that I have realized being here in northern Colorado
is I've always spoke about the rural urban divide that
is very real here in Colorado. However, there is a

(01:56):
massive east west divide in Colorado, and some would call
it the Continental Divide. But we have about ninety percent
of our water that flows west of the Continental Divide
in Colorado and about ninety percent of the population that
is east of the divide, and that causes a lot
of struggles with folks who have the same values, and

(02:19):
so I've been working to to bring the coalitions that
I have formed on water issues and natural resources issues
from the west to the east, so we could have
more water storage here in Colorado, so there is more
of our Colorado water to share because that helps with
our farmers or ranchers, our agriculture development, and even in
our suburban areas like Douglas County and with the developmental

(02:43):
water purposes. So this is something that I've been extremely
focused on this year. But other than that, I mean,
we have national issues that I'm excited to work alongside
President Trump with, from closing the border to lowering and
inflation to creating jobs and a booming economy once again,
and just getting the federal government the heck out of

(03:04):
our lives.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
The voice of Representative Lauren Bobert, she's going to be
your winner in the fourth Congressional district. Good Lord willan
in about two weeks from right now. She's on the hotline.
Representative Bilbert. I'm sitting here laughing. Over the weekend, President
Trump did something they called it a photo op. Of course,
anything you do as a presidential candidate is a photo op.
He worked at a McDonald's indeed made French fries, which
I thought was absolutely brilliant. But it's been crazy to

(03:26):
watch the left goo appleplectic saying he was making fun
of hard working people, when in fact, he was showing them. Hey,
I understand what it is to actually work like you
guys do You've had a background, you built a business
years ago in the food industry, as you watched Donald
Trump work. I've never seen any Republican that I mean,
I've saw George W. Bush chopped down trees on his ranch.

(03:47):
I've never seen a Republican candidate, though, so relate to
the working class people, whether it's a minimum age worker
at the McDonald's or a union worker out of Michigan.
Talk about you Donald Trump that you know and you
know watching him work in the food industry.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Yes, well, President Trump does connect with the working class Americans.
That's who he has spent his life around. That's who
his children has spent their lives around. Uh. You know,
I talked with John Junior, who was a busboy at
a bar in Aspen for a while, you know, I mean,
he just wanted to be there, and he's like, what
do I gotta do. I mean, he's a billionaire son
and he's busting bussing tables and clean and clean and

(04:26):
glasses at a bar. And you know, these these folks
do understand the working class. And now President Trump has
worked at McDonald's more than Kamala Harris has worked at McDonald's.
I have worked at McDonald's more than Kamala Harris has
worked at McDonald's. And there's a lot of great work
ethics that can that can come from that. But President

(04:47):
Trump could be on any exquisite golf course in the
world right now. He could be on the any beach
in the world right now. He could be on the
beach next to Joe Biden if he wanted to. But
he has laid all of that aside and said, I
love this country and I love the people of this
country too much. I'm doing this again. I'm going to
get things right, put the policies back in place that

(05:08):
I had that had our country faith and prosperous. And
I think he has even more visions for a better economy,
a better country in the next four years. I mean,
talk about the working class. How about no tax on tips?
Every server needs to know that President Trump says, no

(05:28):
tax on tips, no tax on overtime. This is going
to encourage more work and allow you to keep more
of your money in your pocket. He relates to these
workers so well because he understands what it takes to
create success, and it's all of us working in these

(05:52):
industries together, putting our hand to something and creating wealth.
I was dependent on welfare as a child, and it
was awful. I was in a cycle of and it
wasn't until I started working in McDonald's that I started
to break free of that, seeing that I could do
a better job taking care of myself than the government
ever had.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
The voice of Representative Lauren Boberd running in the fourth
Congressional district. Hopefully she got your vote. If not, you
need to vote for it if you're in that district.
I got Jerry Manderd out of the fourth district, so
I'm now in the eighth. But CD four, that's who
I would definitely vote for. Is Lauren Bobard there talk
with me about Obviously there's a speculation whether the Republicans
will win the House or whether they'll lose the House.

(06:30):
What is your feel for the prognosis of come January.
Who's going to be in leadership in the House of
Representatives are going to be our team or their team.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
I do believe Republicans are going to win this all
the way across the board. We have a strong polling
for the House, for the Senate, and of course with
President Trump at the top of the ticket, I've been
working hard all throughout Colorado to get more Republicans elected.
I've been working to get Gabe Evans, we have Jeff

(07:01):
Crank and El Paso. John Fabricatory is currently my favorite
candidate nationwide. He is running against Jason Crow. That's a
little bit tougher of a seat to run or to win,
but I believe that he is the best candidate to
defeat Jason Crow. And that's in the sixth districts. He's
been on the front lines with all the Aurora issues,

(07:23):
with the Venezuelan gangs and so much more. And then
of course in Western Colorado we have Jeff Hurd been
working to make sure that he's out in front of
folks and getting that support as well. So I'm doing
what I can here in Colorado to help get Republicans
over the line. But I do believe we will have
the House majority, the Senate majority, and President Trump rightfully

(07:47):
back in the White House. And that really is the
only formula for success in our country, because if we
have a divided government in President Trump in the White House,
then he will not be able to accomplish everything as
efficiently and effectively as he hopes to and as we
all hope that he will.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
And one of the things that you've been frustrated with,
I've been frustrated with a lot of folks frustrated with
the Republicans, even in charge. I've never managed to get
back on what we call regular rules. We continue to
do these continuing resolutions. Is there any prognosis how do
we overcome, assuming that we the Republicans, win back in majority,
how do we get things back to where we're on
the regular rules. No more continuing resolutions, We're going through

(08:27):
a proper budget process.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Yes, well, Jimmy, you're talking to the right gal for that.
So I let a fight in January of twenty twenty
one with Kevin McCarthy running for speaker, saying that we
wanted to change the House rules to have these fundamental
institutional changes, and we were successful in that. Now the
unfortunate part is we don't have the Senate, and we

(08:52):
don't have enough leadership and strong Republicans to fight against
the Senate, and we didn't have the White House either. However,
in the House of Representatives, we did a fantastic job
of breaking the muscle memory of starting with a continuing resolution,
of beginning the budgeting process with an omnibus bill, and
we went through and we had twelve individual appropriations bills

(09:15):
that we worked on, so we could go through that
programmat expending in those line item issues and cut departments
and agencies and positions like chief diversity officers. We don't
need that anywhere in the federal government. We could go
through the waste, fraud and abuse that is rampant in
the federal government and eliminate that. And so with those

(09:38):
individual appropriations bills, that is the answer. But we need
a Senate majority and President Trump in the White House
for that's the effective all the way through, as they said,
we did the work in the House, the Senate never
touched it, and so we got stuck with continuing resolutions.
We got stuck with minibuses last year, and it it's

(10:00):
not the proper way to govern and it's not how
the federal government should be funded with a single up
or down vote, it's us not doing our jobs as
a whole. And so to get back to those individual
appropriations bills, break the muscle memory of beginning with a
continuing resolution or an omnivous bill and do the hard

(10:21):
work is the answer. To keep the rules that I
fought for, to have single subject legislation, to have seventy
two hours to read a bill so we don't have
to go back to Nancy Pelosi's days of you have
to pass a bill to find out what's in it.
We were able to bring back things like the Home
and Rule where you could go in and target a
bureaucrat individually and reduce their salary to one dollar, essentially

(10:44):
firing them. But we have the power of the purse,
so let's manage the tax dollars that are given that
we have and we appropriate to the bureaucrats that force
branch of government, these unelected officials. Let's manage that properly.
And then, of course you said the magic word budget,

(11:07):
maybe we could actually have a budget and pass a budget.
I have a balanced budget amendment, to have a constitutional
amendment that requires us to have a balanced budget every year.
I would love to see something like that signed into law,
or even just passing a budget would be amazing. I
think it's been more than twenty years since the federal

(11:28):
government has actually passed a budget.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Yeah, Lauren Polper is our guest a CD four. If
you haven't voted for her, I would encourage you to
do so. I was talking to Greg Lopez, who's currently
holding a seat waiting for the replacement to be elected
in November.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
There.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
He was telling me that he got to Washington was
surprised by what he called ghost agencies, agencies that are
no longer approved, but there's still an operation because of
this lack of budget, there's still funded. It's a I've
never heard of a ghost agency in my life, but
he said, it's frightening. I mean, there's dozens and dozens
of dozens of agencies operating with no government authority.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
But they have a budget that they have a line
of the Continuing Resolution.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Yes, there's hundreds of them, and this is something that
I've I've started highlighting when I first got to office
as well. And so these ghost agencies what they are,
they're unauthorized agencies and departments within the federal government, and
so either they were once authorized by Congress, as they
should be, and then funding was allocated to them so

(12:25):
they could so they can operate and have an operating budget.
But then Congress got lazy and just quit authorizing many
of these departments and agencies. And there are some jimmy
like the CDC or even the Department of Defense that
have never ever ever been authorized by Congress, yet they

(12:45):
exist and they receive federal funding. This is something that
Senator Ran Paul is big on highlighting, and it's something
that we need to get back to actually doing our job.
If the agency is going to exist, then they need
to come before us as Congress, who allocates their funding
and appropriates their funding. They need to come before us

(13:08):
and justify why their department, why their agency should still
exist and receive tax dollar funding. There's nothing funded by
the federal government. It's all by the American people, So
we need to have accountability. Now. President Trump has said
that he wants to create a Government Efficiency Commission, and

(13:30):
we've heard of Elon Musk possibly being the director of
the Government Efficiency Commission. I think that's hilarious that it
spells out gosh. And it's funny because they said that
this commission would oversee the spending of the federal government,
that they would go through these agencies, these departments, these positions,

(13:52):
and go through the waste, fraud, and abuse and eliminate
parts that are deemed necessary to eliminate. Now, see, Jimmy,
you and I used to call that Congress, but apparently
Congress hasn't been doing it. So we need a special
commission to hold these bureaucrats and agencies accountable.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Yeah, amazing.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
A couple more seconds here together a representative Lauren Bobert,
my guest, will give you your website, get involved in
the campaign, helpe we get across. The finish line is
CD four and nationally, I just keep seeing the polls
that it's a economy and immigration that are the top
two topics.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
As your campaign in CD four.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Are you seeing that that's kind of measuring up that
Are there are other issues a CD four that you're
really having to focus on?

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Or is it the economy and is it immigration that
the folks are voting on right now?

Speaker 3 (14:36):
Yes, well, the economy and immigration and the wide open
southern border, the invasion into our country. These are issues
that tie into just about everything. The border affects our economy,
especially when our tax dollars are going to bail out
Denver Health or Denver itself is spending seventy four million
dollars on illegal aliens, housing and food and other expenses

(14:58):
and then cutting nine percent of their law enforcement. This
is this a huge problem because these funds are being
spent all throughout our state, and their tax dollars that
should be going to our roads, our schools and other
things that we say, hey, yes, you could spend our
tax dollars on this. Instead it's going towards housing and

(15:19):
food and health care for illegals and so much more.
So that certainly affects our economy. But I am hearing
how folks want a booming economy again. They want the
Trump economy back, Trumpanomics work for Colorado, for America. And
you know, I've done my part in economic development, whether

(15:40):
it's creating a thousand jobs in southern Colorado or in Clifton, Colorado,
allowing for the for the purchase of land on a
BLM disposal list so they could have it out economic
development on some thirty one acres there in Clifton. So
I have experience on how to work within the government
to create that economic success and opportunities, but also throughout

(16:03):
Colorado we do hear about the local issues. I started
this talk out with water because that is affecting everyone.
We have all the water we could ever need in
Colorado and so much more. However, we over allocate so
much to the lower base and states, and we have
states like California that dump hundreds of billions of gallons
of water into the ocean each and every year rather

(16:26):
than store it. So I'm working on water storage projects.
I'm working even using the Endangered Fetis at to protect
endangered fish to keep more Colorado water here. We need
our energy industry booming again here in northern Colorado. I want,
I want to see more more. Derek's going up. We
need a drill, baby drill, and that that's going to

(16:48):
be something that certainly helps our economy locally, but nationally
as well. We need that energy independence back and energy security,
and Colorado could help pursue energy dominance for America.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Well, Urn Bobert, it's a pleasure to have you. Thanks
for the extra time this morning. Folks want to go
to your website, help you get across the finish line
in CD four, where do they find you?

Speaker 3 (17:09):
That would be Lauren Forrocolorado dot Com. You know, is
just announced today that I have another pack spending over
one hundred thousand dollars against me. Of course, the Democrat
has all of her Hollywood elites and Dark Money Act,
Blue money laundering scheme that's helping her raise money. And
so she's all over the airways spreading live saying that

(17:30):
I'm not for our veterans, I'm not for our seniors,
that all of these other horrible things. And so we
need to continue to work on getting the truth out
that that I that I am here to represent you
and to fight for you in Washington, d C. I
have a proven track record. I have a voting record
that is one hundred percent conservative. I have bipartisan legislation

(17:54):
without ever compromising my principles, my values, or my promises.
To Colorado's laurenfo Colorado dot com, I appreciate all the
help that we could get.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
Thank you, I appreciate you. God bless you.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Lauren. We'll talk to you very soon. Lauren for Colorado
dot Com. I gotta take a break. It's Jimmy Lakey
it's six hundred k col.
