The Dudes get experimental with 1969's Funeral Parade of Roses. Equal parts surreal, profound, and beautiful, this film is entirely unpredictable, and deliberately makes a strong stance that being gay or trans is entirely normal no matter what you think about it. It's weird and lovely and you will never forget it.

Pride 2025 kicks off with class and panache with 1987's Maurice, a Merchant-Ivory joint full of wit and sophistication. This tale of repression in early 20th Century England will both move you and outrage you, sometimes within the same scene. We've come a long way, and yet much of this movie that takes place in 1910 will still feel unfortunately modern.

The Dudes wear pink wigs and yellow camo in 2003's Lost in Translation. Sofia Coppola's film about two lonely souls struggling with who they are and where they are in life is a refreshing and unique take on the romance genre. Scarlett Johansson is wise beyond her years and Bill Murray gives an Oscar deserving performance as basically himself. You'll find yourself rooting for these two throughout the entire film, and feel completely...
The Dudes make a desert of their home and yours with 1968's Planet Of The Apes. For cultural impact, there are few films more important than Franklin J. Schaffner's classic, and that they keep trying to recapture it's glory with re-makes proves it's continued relevance. But stay out of the Forbidden Zone with those re-makes, because the original can't be beat!

The Dudes talk a lot of trash with 1992's White Men Can't Jump. The chemistry between Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson, both on screen and on the court, is magnetic. But can they use their talents to hustle peace into their lives? Either way, it's going to be fun. And remember, sometimes when you win, you actually lose, but you can also actually tie or something.

The Dudes perform without their corsets with 1999's Topsy-Turvy. This story of Gilbert & Sullivan's Mikado collaboration, along with the inner-workings of the Savoy Theatre is one of Mike Leigh's greatest achievements. A successful opera isn't easy to pull together, and neither is a film that dramatizes such a production. It's also Leigh's funniest film, and once you realize how much work the cast put into this one, you'll p...
The Dudes' blackmail plot goes awry in 2001's "The Man Who Wasn't There". Yeah, maybe it didn't go as planned, but they keep it cool, take another drag, and focus on the hair. Doris took the fall for Big Dave, but that's life. They aren't going to prance around about it. Besides, there's a young musician needing a boost. They can make that happen. Heaven to Betsy they can.
