Do you feel fear when you think of God Almighty, or do you feel his love?If we were to land more on one side or the other, which would be more beneficial in our walk with the Lord?
God tells us that King David is a man after his own heart. I have often wondered why. Oh come on, David did a lot of things wrong, including but not limited to his affair with Bathsheba and the murder of her husband, Uriah. How could God possibly call him “A man after my own heart”???
Today I chat with a former pastor who has finally found the freedom of living with Jesus that he knew existed, but never found it in the pulpit
Are we to fear God or live in his perfect love? “Yes.” Tune in as we explore the balance!
Today is Part 2 of our recap of Colossians chapter 1. We’ll start with these two questions:
Tune in for these and more!
Colossians chapter 1 is chocked full of rich truths. Today we mine out a few of those treasures that can both challenge, guide and motivate us.
Do you think of God, of Jesus, as encouragers? And … do you consider yourself to be an encourager? Is an encourager someone who naturally unites? Let’s answer these questions as we explore Colossians 2:1-5.
Have you ever felt burned out? How many athletes, performers, politicians – and just about anyone – burn out and flame out? Perhaps they have not yet learned to combine their efforts with the power of the Holy Spirit.
As followers of Jesus, can we rejoice in our suffering – actually rejoice? I do not see how, but Jesus as well as Paul, Peter and James think so. How to? Tune in!
When you get up in the morning, what clothes do you put on to address the day and all the attacks that Satan will throw at you? In this episode, our special guest, Chris, and I dig through what Paul challenged all believers to put on when standing up to Satan's attacks on you and your walk with Christ Jesus.
In Colossians 1:21-22 we are told that when we are born again God sees us as “holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.” Can that really be true? Holy and blameless???
Who did Jesus appear to, how many, and what was Jesus’ message?
Did you know Jesus put his betrayer, Judas, in the Guest of Honor seat, and Peter in the Dunce seat? What was he – deliberately - teaching them and us by his carefully planned seating arrangements?
Could Jesus be just the best, greatest, most wonderful human ever – and not necessarily fully God? What does it matter or even mean to you if he as fully God and fully man? Is that even possible?
Throughout the New Testament, we see that Jesus was not just the Son of God, but all creation was by him, for him, and through him. What does this mean to you, and the way you live your day-to-day life?
The Holy Spirit, through Paul, says we have to be rescued from the “dominion of darkness.” Do you think you need to be rescued, or do you just need a little “polishing up?”
In Paul’s letter to the Colossians, he prays that “God will fill them with the knowledge of his will.” Does this mean we can know God’s will?? Yes … and no. Stay tuned to learn the difference!
The Apostle Paul says this as he starts the letter of Colossians: “ … the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven ….” What if your hope – your confident expectation – was so strong that it served as a springboard from which your faith and your love bounced … catapulted … forward?
