Lee Goolden, the man behind the nothing short of amazing Tally Ho videos, joined us today for an hour to talk about everything that has gone into this huge rebuild program. Leo is delightfully straightforward and just such a good dude. Enjoy this one!
Charlie Enright, the new CEO of US Sailing, joined us today for a robust discussion of all things sailing, er, US Sailing!
Engaging and bright, Charlie takes us down the often muddy road of US Sailing - where's it been, where it is, and where it wants to go!
This is a fantastic interview, and I hope you enjoy it!
You say you'd like to win the Chicago Mackinac race? Well, maybe you didn't win that one, but how about the
The Bayview to Mackinac race, which starts a week earlier. No?
How about winning them both, in the same year? That's exactly what Bob Hughes, owner of the TP 52 Heartbreaker did this summer!
Bob shares what those races were like and how they pulled off the double. Enjoy!
Today, we talk with Quantum San Diego's Eric Heim, who just helped drive the Cal 40 Restless to both its class and Overall win in the just-completed 2025 Transpac.
A great story with plenty of good stuff. And apologies - like an idiot, I hit the wrong button and the last couple minutes didn't record!
Alex Camet joins us live from Lake Garda, Italy for the Moth Worlds, where he is coaching American Zack Downing. Listen to the infinite details of what it takes to sail these things! Love it!
Today, Tempesta whines about the fact that he can't get crew - waa! Dude nobody wants to sail with an old man on an old boat.
Reality bites! And so does he!
Tempesta is back! Yay? Whatever, he rambles on about the America's Cup, and yes, even manages to talk about his dopey Hobie 33.
Jeez, give it a rest! Now you give it a listen!
I had the chance to sail in the uber-competitive SDYC J/22 Beercan Series last night and man, was that fun, and humbling!
20 teams sailed in two flights - silver and gold - we were in silver of course, but had a couple nice finishes and a couple I'd rather not talk about, but I will. Listen!
Today Scot Tempesta talks to Alex Camet live from onboard the Swan 60 Good Call as they make their way down the coast of Southern California on the Newport to Ensenada Race. Super cool to have a chat from the water.
And of course Bigmouth Strikes Again, with his nonsensical rant about The America's Cup. Enough already!
So for all the nonsense your editor here has spewed about his beater Hobie 33, it finally came time to deliver.
And if you know Tempesta, you know that he rarely delivers, and his first race on said Hobie 33 was this past Saturday. We'll let him try to talk his way out of fth in class and 19th overall.
This oughta be good!
Today, Tempesta goes on and on about his GD Hobie 33. He tells us that y'all love this sort of thing?
It looks pretty good until you realize Danny Devito couldn't stand up inside. What the hell is he thinking? Oh that's right, that's not his strong suit.
He also briefly dives into the well-worn US SailGP team with lukewarm and predictable results. But wait, there's more...
In today's episode, Tempesta brings you all up to speed on the progress on his "Beater" Hobie 33. First, he goes way too long explaining the obscure and odd name he chose for the boat.
Then he goes on about the yard experience, and all the deets about what it takes to get this thing going. Here at SA, we say hurry the hell up and get on the race course, so that we can hear all about the races he didn't win. (He i...
Ice King Matty Struble joined us to take a bit of a deep dive into his ridiculously brilliant sailing career!
From Moths to Iceboats, Matt does a great job sharing how he does it.
Enjoy!
Surely one of the more fascinating designers with a great origin story that led him to design in six America's Cups! And that is only part of the story. I 14s, Moths, custom boats, etc.
Hope ya dig it!
Yeah, yeah, yeah - we know you've heard it before, but he did get something new (old). You may be surprised, and you might say "What a wanker", but listen up to hear the story. And yes, we know - there is always a story!
Today, your 'Hostess with the Mostest' welcomes Alex Camet as they talk about the year in review, and what is on the waters ahead.
It must be noted that thanks to The Host, this is the worst, most incomplete, inaccurate and quickly thrown together "Year In Review" ever. We spent nearly the whole time talking about the AC, and whatever the hell it was that we discussed. Mazel tof!
