Apparently all I needed was the topic of 'camp' and all of these day camp memories came flooding back. Yes, today's episode is about summer camp but it also serves as a reminder to myself to allow my kids to have their own experiences without projecting my past nonsense on them. And, oh boy, do I need the reminder!

No, don't worry -- this podcast is not becoming a DIY show about how to build a treehouse! I can safely say I am probably one of the least qualified podcast hosts to offer construction tips. Today's episode is really about perception and how you can look at the same thing every day and then, one day, wake up and see it through 'new' eyes.

Today's episode is kind of about menopause -- but not really though. I share part of an email that Dr. Mary Claire Haver sent in which she writes a letter to her younger self. I love her email and the idea that this is a new life chapter that can be quite wonderful.
Yes, there are some physical changes that can be tough. But, it can also be a time for freedom -- freedom from caring for other humans, freedom from roles we used to...
Today's episode is about resilience. The return. The power that lies in falling and getting back up. Because we will all fall, make mistakes, change our minds. That's just being human. But it's what happens at that moment that really matters.

On today's episode, I take you along on our not-a-college-tour trip to Albany -- complete with mall food court memories, rollerblading, and teen-approved silence on anything resembling future planning. But really it's about why talking about big, uncertain things can feel uncomfortable (for teens and grown-ups) and why being a little 'cagey' is sometimes just self-protection.

Today, in addition to sharing some summer confessions (I’ve always been more of an indoor cat who just wants to read in the shade with a cold drink), I talk about what summer looks like for me now, how I’m learning to embrace less structure, and why this slower season actually feels really good.

Today's episode is about a super short social media video I made about being OK if you don't want know what you want to be when you grow up. I recorded it on a whim and so many people reached out and said the video spoke to them.
So, if nothing else, if you are someone who is still trying to figure out what you want to be when you grow up, you are in VERY good company!

Perhaps the title of today's episode is a bit overly dramatic. Yes, it is the 'end of an era' with the twins moving up to high school, but there are many 'ends' like this one. I find, I'm not so great with 'ends.' So, today, let's chat about 'ends' and how to process them.

I couldn't help the Santa reference but no, this is not a Christmas-themed episode. This episode is all about 'the worries' -- that list of things that keep you up at night, ruminate on, can't stop turning over in your mind. Today, l chat about one tool I use to handle all of that uncertainty and worry.

...Today's episode is a bit out-of-left field. I don't really love giving advice, especially business advice. But, today, I'm stepping outside of my comfort zone and sharing some advice (100% solicited!) that I recently shared about creating my business.

Today’s episode is all about words. Words have so much power and sometimes we all get a little sloppy with them. It’s not intentional -- we do it without thinking. Putting ourselves down in jest or ’hedging’ so as not to set ourselves up for disappointment. I do this all the time. And I think it’s about time I ’cleaned’ up some of my language.

Today's episode is about habits. Breaking habits and starting new ones is soooo hard -- so much of what we do is patterned and habitual. But, I do think at least this old dog can learn some new tricks!

I know the title of today's episode seems a bit opaque. I promise it's not. I don't think my writing style could ever be described as anything but 'accessible.'
I do love this concept of the 'earthly garden of emotions' -- proposed by the spiritual teacher, Mark Nepo. The idea that all emotions spring from the same soil. An explanation for why we can cry and laugh at the same moment. Listen and let me know what you think!

Today's episode is about this past Mother's Day -- there were three mothers in the house this year celebrating. And, yes, I realize I'm a few weeks late with this one -- better late than never, right? It was a good mother's day: amidst hummus and kofta, there was this moment for me of 'how did we all get here?'

As the world comes alive, I'm reminded how nature takes it's time. Not rushing. Patiently waiting until the time is right and then -- whoosh, everything is alive. And so I need to have the bravery to be patient and wait, too. For everything that's coming!

You probably guessed from the title of today's episode that today I'm chatting about my dad. Although I'm sad -- it's not a 'sad' episode. I share some of the smaller stories about my dad that I don't often tell.

I recently wrapped up my sixth retreat so I'm going to have a couple 'retreat-centric' episodes. Today, I'm sharing a big theme of this retreat -- how, with awareness, we do better than the previous generation. We will still make lots of mistakes, but we won't make the same ones.

Today's episode is inspired, yet again, by my friend Cara Bradley. The title of her email 'You Don't Know How Great You Are' just hit me. Because she is 1,000% right. We think everything we do is just all in a day's work, no big deal, par for the course. And we're wrong!
Thanks so much for listening! I love helping people change (and improve!) their perception of their lives -- aka find more JOY.
Today's episode is about crying. And if you are bit concerned, no, I'm not crying the whole episode! Tears bring a relief -- like letting some of the air out of a balloon. So, let's talk about tears today!
