(00:31):
It's getting very interesting because it is now officially the
off season for every single NFL team, and when the
off season comes, many, many, many stories arrive because the
off season is all about speculation, and the off season

(00:54):
when there's speculation, it's mostly ninety five five percent bull
crap because there's a difference between speculation and a likelihood,
meaning it's likely that Sam Donald will not return to

(01:14):
the Minnesota Vikings. That is not speculation, that is not
a guess. That is the likelihood of the situation. Speculation
comes when Aaron Rodgers will not return to the New
York Jets, and then everyone randomly throws out teams like

(01:39):
the Pittsburgh Steelers or our Minnesota Vikings when there may
or may not be any merit whatsoever. And the truth
of the matter is is that Aaron Rodgers is not
going to sign with the Minnesota Vikings. And the only

(02:01):
reason why it's a story is because of Brett farre
and what he did before Aaron Rodgers went from the
Packers to the Jets to the Vikings. Oh, Aaron Rodgers
went from the Packers to the Jets to question Mark.
Aaron Rodgers is not going to sign with the Minnesota Vikings,

(02:24):
not because he wouldn't want to, but because of the
Minnesota Vikings and their lack of interest in him. The
Minnesota Vikings are not going to get rid of Sam
Darnold this s aw season. Let them walk in free
agency so they can get their hands on forty one

(02:49):
year old quarterback Aaron Rodgers. And his numbers last season
weren't actually that bad, but I think it's one of
those seasons without watching Aaron Rodgers every game, I think
it's one of those seasons where his stats looked better

(03:11):
than the way he actually played. Twenty eight touchdowns, eleven interceptions,
a sixty three percent completion percentage, threw for three eight
and ninety seven yards, and at the end of the year,
I think Rogers started to find his footing more. He
hit DeVante Adams for a bunch of touchdowns in the

(03:32):
final few games of the season, and I don't think
his stats are actually that of a quarterback that performed
the way that you typically see quarterbacks perform when they
have twenty eight touchdowns. Their record was five and twelve
this season. I can almost guarantee you that there was

(03:55):
no other quarterback in the league for twenty eight touchdowns
and eleven interceptions and had their team with a five
and twelve record. That just almost seems impossible to do,
but here it is Rogers five and twelve, twenty eight touchdowns,

(04:16):
eleven interceptions, almost threw for four thousand yards. Now do
I think Rogers could play I do. I think he
could go to the right organization and be a good
quarterback for a solid team. If the Pittsburgh Steelers bring

(04:39):
in Aaron Rodgers, which that is the best odds out
of any team to land Aaron Rodgers at plus two hundred,
then that makes sense. Then I could see Aaron Rodgers
winning some football games next year. But random organizizations that

(05:01):
have a plan like a Jajon McCarthy, are not going
to bring in Aaron Rodgers. So the Minnesota Vikings, Aaron
Rodgers speculation can end right now. Adam Schefter went on
the Pat McAfee show and actually brought up the Minnesota

(05:23):
Vikings in the conversation.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
To me, my guests would be that he wants up playing.
He's going to want to continue playing. I would guess
he'll want to do it at a place that wants him.
Here's a guy that I think he's made more money
than any NFL player in history right now, and so
that gives him the ability to sit back and be
selective about what he does and doesn't want to do.

(05:47):
If there's a situation that he's not particularly enthralled with,
he doesn't have to do it. But on the surface today,
my guest would be he does want to play. He
can help a team. How many spots, see how many
spots you think would want Aaron Rodgers' service?

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Well, yeah, give us a little leverage.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
You you know, everyone ever we talked to Aaron, you know,
we could be like, hey, but Shafter's telling us there's
two three spots. Something to think about now. Well, it's
a fluid moving thing, right, You just don't know. There
are seven Guys's Minnesota gonna lose Sam Donald, They're gonna
bring him back. Is Sam Donald gonna go some Yeah,
the Brett fav prost that with JJ McCarthy, I think so.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
When Pat mcafeef asked that follow up question on where
he thinks Aaron Rodgers could end up, you could almost
see Adam Schefter caught off guard and trying to go
through his categories of teams thinking of who could use
Aaron Rodgers next season, and he through the Minnesota Vikings
into the mix because Sam Donald is likely gone. But

(06:52):
the truth of the matter is that the Minnesota Vikings
will not be interested in the services of Aaron Ronay,
could he still play in the right system and the
right organization? Yes, Do I think Aaron Rodgers will play
next season? I actually have a different opinion from Adam Jeffer.

(07:12):
Now he's the inside and I'm just a random podcaster,
But I don't think Aaron Rodgers will return next season
in the NFL. I think he will retire. Now. Is
he gonna want to go out with a five and
twelve record? Well, maybe that's the reason why he wants
to come back, to prove that, you know, he can
go out on a winning record and make the playoffs
and have a good last taste in his mouth. But

(07:35):
there's many players in the league history that don't have
a good taste in their mouth and had to retire
at the end of the season. And Patrick Ewing, I mean,
I don't know how good of a taste in his
mom Jerry Rice had playing for the Seattle Seahawks at
the end of his career, but just a guy I

(07:56):
can randomly think of. So when you think about where
the Minnesota Vikings are headed and the direction of the franchise,
and the Minnesota Vikings have been very clear from day
one on where their direction is going. When Quesci and
Kevin O'Connell were hired, get some cap space, get a

(08:19):
quarterback on a rookie contract, and try to make it work.
And the Minnesota Vikings are not about to risk that
to bring in a forty one year old quarterback who
may or may not have one good season left. You know,
it would be different if the Minnesota Vikings would might

(08:41):
maybe make an exception if there was a twenty six
year old quarterback in his prime entering free agency and
all he wanted to do was play for the Minnesota Vikings.
But this is not an exception. The Minnesota Vikings are
not about to bring in a forty one year old
guy who has a knack for destroying organizations when he

(09:04):
wants to go out. This is not gonna happen. I mean,
he could argue that Rogers may have helped in the
development of a Jordan Love, who is now one of
the top fifteen quarterbacks in the league. But the Minnesota
Vikings do not see Aaron Rodgers a part of their

(09:26):
plan and a part of their organization moving forward. There's
no chance that it's going to happen. A less likely
chance than a look good Donta trade for Anthony Davis,
a less likely chance than the Herschel Walker trade being
the worst trade in the history of the NFL. A
less likely chance than the NFL officials making a case

(09:50):
for the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl, which the
NFL officials actually favored the Eagles more than the Chiefs
this Super Bowl, so that conspiracy theory can go out
the window. Anyways. To wrap it up, it's not happening,
no chance of happening. Let's end the speculation right now.
