The Minnesota Timberwolves a collapse of epic proportions against the

(00:29):
Milwaukee Bucks in a situation where every single game down
the stretch is as meaningful a regular season game as
it gets because of what's on the line and because
of who they're competing against. Every single night, multiple teams

(00:51):
in the Western Conference vying for a spot within that
top six to avoid the playing game. But first I
need to tell you about the best investment my wife
and I have made at our house. We were in
the market for a bathroom. We needed one very very badly,

(01:14):
and I made some calls. I'd send out some emails
and I talked to some people and they were telling
me four to eight week project, four to six week project,
and that really wasn't an option for us because we
don't want to wait that long to use our bathroom.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
We want it done soon.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
So I made another call to five Star Bath Solutions
of Minneapolis. I checked out their site. I loved it.
Financial payment options available and they can get bathroom remodels
done in as little as twenty four to forty eight hours.
And three days later, my wife and I were using

(01:58):
our fully bathroom. Check out these videos. This is the before.
The before video is this. Look at this an ugly
step You walk into the shower, moldy, gross floors, outdated,
single sync, just nasty.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Woila.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
New flooring, updated shower and bath, double vanity. Our bathroom
got a major uplift in forty eight hours. Full remodel,
financial payment options available, affordable, convenient. Five Star Bath Solutions
of Minneapolis is the way to go if you're going

(02:46):
to remodel your bathroom. Because it was done quickly. You
didn't have to use a downstairs bathroom go all the
way upstairs to downstairs every single morning to get ready
for work, get the kids ready for whatever it is
that they gotta get th four This was amazing and
you need to check out five Star Bath Solutions of Minneapolis.

(03:07):
Free consultations are available. Google five Star Bath Solutions of
Minneapolis and be happy customers like my wife and are
like my wife and I are today all right? The
Timberwolves collapse Bucks one ten Timberwolves one oh three. Going
into the fourth quarter. The Timberwolves were up by about

(03:30):
twenty points, and I turned towards my wife, I said,
this would be a good win if they can hold
onto this win, if they can hold on to this lead,
because it's been the same story all season long, and
the reverse has also been true.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
The Timberwolves are at the top of the.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
League in terms of teams that come back from double
digit deficits and win basketball games. They just did it
the other night against Denver where they were down eleven
with about seven minutes left. Anthony Edwards got hot and
the Timberwolves came back and won. And this was the

(04:08):
reverse of that, up twenty going into the fourth quarter,
up twenty four in the third quarter, and then they
blow it and allow forty points in the fourth quarter
and only score thirteen.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
And I wasn't surprised one bit by it.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
You look at x or Twitter and you've got Timberwolves
fans up the wazoo, shocked, disappointed, frustrated, upset. But this
has been who the Timberwolves have been all season long,
so I was not the least bit surprised by the

(04:54):
fact that they blew another late.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Fourth quarter lead, and you could see it.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Because as soon as the Bucks went into a zone defense,
the Timberwolves offense had no idea what to do, which
is the most like mind blowing fact of the situation.
NBA basketball players, professionals who have seen two three zones

(05:25):
for twenty to thirty years of their life, did not
know how to operate offensively against a zone defense without
turning the ball over or without getting a good shot.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
It's crazy.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
With the amount of three point shots that are taken
in the NBA, a two three zone should be the
easiest to score against because what two three zones do
is they force teams to shoot from the perimeter. And

(06:05):
every time I see the Timberwolves going to a two
three zone, I say, oh, crap, here comes three after three,
after three after three, because.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
That's what a two three zone is designed to do.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
It's designed to keep bigger players out of the paint
and shoot three point shots. And as we've seen all
season long, the Timberwolves are an inconsistent three point shooting team,
and they could not make a shot, they could not

(06:39):
pass the ball, and the Timberwolves offense was exposed in
that fourth quarter against the Milwaukee Bucks. Dane Moore, and
insider for the Timberwolves, sent out this tweet last night.
He said, six brutal turnovers by the Wolves in the clutch,

(07:00):
six two from Julius Randall, two from Anthony Edwards, one
from Jada McDaniels, and one from Dante de Vincenzo.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
That is not going to win games.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Wolves fourth quarter four for twenty from the field, eight
turnovers and surrendered forty points in the frame. That's a
tweet sent out by Jace Frederick of the Pioneer Press.
The Timberwolves offense became completely inept in the fourth quarter

(07:39):
against the Bucks. Here's a screenshot by bleacher Report. The
Timberwolves were up ninety five to seventy one with ten
minutes left in the fourth quarter. They lost one to
ten to one, all three. So they were outscored in

(07:59):
the final ten minutes of this quarter by thirty one points.
That almost seems impossible to do. And you look at
Sports Center's win probability, ESPN's win probability, and the timber
Wolves had a ninety nine point nine percent chance to win.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
This basketball game.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
So you look at everything that happened and people are
starting to point the finger who's to blame, who takes
the most responsibility. And I'm not going to point the
finger at Chris Finch because he did call timeouts and
he did try to set up place. It was not

(08:49):
one of those situations where Chris Finch let him play.
It was a disaster after disaster. Why are you not
calling a timeout? He called multiple timeouts during this Bucks run.
And there was also the little scuffle between Rudy Gobert
and Porter Junior late in that game, which also gave

(09:14):
the Timberls a break.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
But the Bucks fed off that scuffle.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
And completely annihilated the Timberwolves from that point forward, because
the Walls actually got the lead ninety eight ninety seven
after that scuffle, and they said, Okay, maybe this is
a good reset for the team. Maybe this is the
stop and play that they needed to gather their emotions
and get their composure. And there was none of that

(09:44):
to behold or see on the basketball court. So it's
a frustrating loss for sure. The players remained calm and
cool after the game and basically said, you know what,
it happens. We got to win next one in Memphis.
That's a must win game. And then they got Yuton Brooklyn,

(10:05):
And this is what I said. I said the Timberwolves
would not finish the season on a nine game win streak,
because they had a five game win streak going into
this game. I said, they're gonna split Milwaukee and Memphis
and then they'll beat Uton Brooklyn to finish off the
season winning eight of nine games. And based on what
they do against Memphis, that is going to look like

(10:29):
it's going to be true because right now the Wolves
are the eighth seed forty six and thirty three, and
then he got La Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors,
Memphis Grizzlies all at forty seven and thirty two. This
is one of the craziest Western Conference runs that you'll

(10:51):
ever see with this many teams stacked within the fourth
to eight seed. So it win three games down the stretch,
and it would appear that the Timberwolves could at least
get in that sixth spot. But as far as the

(11:12):
blame game goes, I'm putting most of the blame on
Anthony Edwards, and I don't think that's a cheap shot
because when things break down like they did in the
fourth quarter. Anthony Edwards, whose summer so quick to call

(11:38):
a superstar completely disappeared from the basketball game.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Down the stretch.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
He was not attacking, he could not find the seams,
He could not make a pass.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
None of the Timberwolves could.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
It was a turnover, turnover, turnover, turnover, breakaway, dunk, breakaway, dunk, dunk, dunk, dunk,
dunk dunk. Timber defense stunk. But in these moments, when
none of your starters can do anything, everyone's melting. That's
when you need your superstars to step up and make

(12:14):
a shot and have the composure to settle down your team.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
And Edwards had none of that.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
He had no composure, he had no sense of calmness
or confidence, and the Timberwolves had an epic twenty four
point collapse in the fourth quarter. So another bigger point

(12:48):
to think about in terms of this basketball game. And
if the Timberwolves make the sixth seed or fifth seed
or even the fourth seed, cool, But when you watch
this team, does it really look like a playoff ready
basketball team? Does it really look like it could go
a full seven games and be consistent enough to win

(13:14):
those games throughout the series, Because it sure doesn't seem
like it. Because this is who they have been all
season long, and I'm not surprised by any of it.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
At this point in time.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
It probably favors the Timberwolves to be down by ten
with six minutes left, then to be up by ten
with six minutes left. As crazy as that sounds, that's
what's been true for this basketball team this year. Do
you really trust this Timberwolves team with a lead or

(13:52):
in a clutch situation in playoff time to finish off
the deal? Because I don't. I don't at all. Why
would you. They completely melt down the stretch. And that's
been the theme all season long. So that's my reaction

(14:16):
to this game. They blew it. Not surprised by it.
I even made a comment of it. Yeah, hopefully they
can win. If they hold onto this lead, this would
be a good win. They didn't hold on a lead,
blew it. And when he watched that game and the
Bucks knocked down threes and they cut it to ninety

(14:37):
five eighty seven, and say okay, just make a shot,
take the pressure, and they couldn't make a shot. All
the Timbrels needed to do was make one shot or
two shots, take the pressure off, eliminate that avalanche of
the Bucks. And they win that game. And they couldn't
do it. They could not stop their run. Because what's

(15:00):
true about practically every NBA basketball game is that teams
are gonna go on runs.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
You see it all the time.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Teams that are down twenty to twenty five cut the
lead to ten to thirteen, and from that point on
the other team responds, knocks out a couple of shots.
Games over, the Timberwolves were so inept offensively down the
stretch that they could not doubt down any shots. They
couldn't even pass the ball, they couldn't even get off

(15:32):
a good look. So come playoff time, I would expect
more are the same. Whether it's a play in or
whether it's the sixth seed. There's bigger things at stake
than just reacting to this game. Because we all want
to react to this game called an epic collapse, call

(15:53):
it blah blah blah, and then you pull up your
tweets from last week when they beat Denver, it's like, Oh,
this team is the real deal.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
They can do. They're gonna win.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
They can beat anybody, Sure, they can beat anybody, but
they can also lose to anybody, and they can also
lose if they're up by twenty four points with ten
minutes left. That's who the team is, that is their identity.
They can't finish off opponents. Even the seventy six ers game,

(16:22):
they could not stop Quentin Grimes down the stretch and
it took an Anthony Edwards miraculous shot in the corner
to win that game. It shouldn't take that, and everyone
wants to applaud that shot and credit him for making
a miraculous shot, which it was in a double team,

(16:43):
But that is not a shot that you want to
rely on.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
To defeat a team that was supposed to lose by
thirty that night.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
So that's my reaction, and that's my futuristic thoughts about
the Timberwolves collapse and what that means for the playoffs.
