Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello, Bachelor Nation, this is Bachelor Happy Hour. We are
so excited to be here.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
I am Joe and I am Serena, and.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
We are here.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
We are the new host of Bachelor Happy Hour, and
we are so beyond excited to be here today, recording
separately but together as the co host, which is crazy
now both husband and wife and podcast co host. We
can add it to the list.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Yeah, I'm excited. We have we have big shoes to fill,
but I'm ready. I'm ready to go. Ready to get
new season, new season, new podcast. Let's start fresh. Serena,
you excited or finally hosting a podcast together?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
I'm so excited, especially I know I'm tired, but I'm excited.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
I know it's early, but well, we'll get we'll get
into that. We'll get into that. But yeah, I never
thought we would host one together, but.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
Really, why not?

Speaker 2 (01:12):
I feel like you have had a podcast for what
three years with Clickbait and then yeah, I've popped in
the podcast scene.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Yeah, and I think I thought we had a good
flow when we did it together. I just I don't know.
I felt like we went for so long without having
a podcast together, that us having one together so long.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
A good two years, our very lengthy relationship.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
That's fair, that's fair. Are you worried about working with me?

Speaker 2 (01:43):
No, I don't think I'm worried. I feel like all
of your good sides and diva sides I already know,
so there's not going to be a lot of like surprises.
I feel like we also work really well together, like
in a day to day life, and we've also podcast
together and work together in like a professional setting. So
I don't think there's like what would worry me would

(02:06):
be like the unknown of like, oh my gosh, how
is this going to go? Like is are we going
to be able to podcast together? Are we going to
have a long But we've already kind of tackled that,
so I don't really I don't really have any worries.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
I'm excited.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
I'm did you did you say VA sides? He just said, yeah,
Diva sides? I did say that, Yes, unbelievable. You didn't
like that? You didn't like that one?

Speaker 1 (02:31):
I didn't. I didn't after just I can't. I just
got back from my bachelor party. For people listening like
two hours ago, it was uh so for people that
don't know Serena and I are getting married in September. Yay,

(02:52):
well we're technically married now. Well, we both planned our
bachelor parties in mine was first, and I just went
to Vegas for five days with some of my really
close friends and I got my flight left at nine
am Monday, and we got stuck in the air for

(03:15):
two hours above Newark and they would not land us.
So then they decided to land the plane in Baltimore
and then keep us stuck on the plane for three hours,
let us off the plane, but not let us leave
and keep all our bags. Gave us an update every

(03:36):
thirty minutes to re update us.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
That was the craziest part was every time you contacted me,
you were like, okay, they just updated us.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
I was like, okay, great, Like what's the update?

Speaker 2 (03:47):
You like know the update is, We're going to get
an update in thirty minutes.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Craziest, craziest thing in the world. I was like, what
is happening? I have not eaten, have not slept, And
then fine, at about eleven thirty, they said, we're taking
all your luggage off. We are gonna put you all
on a bus to New York City.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Which I've never heard of in my entire life. My
mom had. When I was talking to my mom last
night and she's like, oh, this happened to me one time,
but I've never heard of them beaning like, we know
you booked a flight, but we got you a bus instead.
Load on up and here we go.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
And then there was there was one hundred and fifty
of us standing there, and I'm like, how many buses
are they even gonna be able to get? We stand outside,
They're like, oh, buses, buses are filled.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
What yeah, there wasn't any more room on the bus.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
We don't know, buses weren't ready. So then me and
four random guys split a like a Yukon guy. A
driver was there. He's like, between all five of you,
eight hundred and fifty bucks to drive you to New York.
And we're like, let's just do it.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
I had a this fifty split five ways, split five ways.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
I was like, but we were packed in. I was
sitting in the middle. It was they were all nice guys,
but it was it was crazy. And I finally got
home at four am. Here we are waking everyone up,
who's working on this podcast. I feel terrible, but.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Yeah, and it's seven am Eastern Standard time. Four am
Pacific Center time. So we definitely drew the long straw
in the situation because it's not too bad.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
But you must be so tired. Did you get to
sleep at all in the car?

Speaker 1 (05:36):
No, I haven't slept. I haven't slept, but I'm excited.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Did you even try to sleep?

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Or now?

Speaker 1 (05:41):
I knotted off a little bit, but I really couldn't.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Do you think the people that were waiting for the
bus are still sitting in Baltimore?

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Yeah, they are, because I just I just got an
update right now that the plane's leaving, which means they
didn't get on the buses, so they might they're boarding
in like two.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Oh my god, Joe, imagine you were like you waited
for the bus and you guys didn't get in that car.
They probably shoveled them all back to the gate and
just said, never mind, here's the plane in a few hours.
But guess what brutal that's actually? Is that your worst
travel experience ever?

Speaker 1 (06:20):
This was the worst. This was worse than when we
got stuck in Calgary. In Calgary, you'll be you will
be in this position in two weeks because it's your
first time going to Vegas ever, which is crazy.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Yeah, yeah, but hopefully I'm not in that position. I
don't want to experience that at all.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Just make sure that you stay hydrated, because that was
a key for me. I did an IV treatment Sunday.
Thank god I did that because it kept me hydrated
so I wasn't like super hungover.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yeah, just to clarify, I'm going to I'm going to
Vegas as well for my Bocht party in two weeks,
and it'll be my first time in Vegas. But Joe
is a Vegas expert native basically a local if you will,
and he goes on the ride. He's nearly twice a year,
so this was not his first time in Vegas whatsoever.

(07:13):
But fill the people in on your bochelor party. You
had a long, a long five days in Vegas. It
looked like a lot of fun. If I didn't post
that much.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
About it, yeah, I didn't really post that much. We
gambled a lot.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
A lot, a lot, as pretty usual.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Yeah, I like, like, oh I wish I had some
crazy stories. But yeah, we gambled, we went to we
went out every night. But what we did this time, oh,
this and this is going to be super interesting for
everyone listening. We went to dinner at five thirty pm
in Vegas, which is crazy, but actually it actually worked

(07:49):
out well because then we had the whole night. The
only one from VETL Nation that was there was Clay.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
But wait, wait, wait, wait you really this is a
crazy story. We went to dinner at five thirty Vegas?
Was that the story?

Speaker 5 (08:03):
Yeah? I'm also I'm also still delusional. I swear I'm delusional.
It's it's crazy and I have to leave after this.
Oh no, all right.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
But yeah, Clay was the only one from Bacher Nation there.
He was actually the one I was getting all my
Instagram content of your bachelor party from. He was popping off.
It was great.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Yeah, Clay's a big he'll post a lot of stories.
I also so I also met remember remember in our
season of Paradise Chasin m.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Guy.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Yeah yeah, yeah he was there and Spencer, so Spencer
from that season as well. Season Yeah. So at access
Encore Beach Club Sunday, we'll hung out with those guys
for a little bit. They're cool, nice guys.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
That's nice. That's fun.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
So overall, overall, overall is a great time travel experience.
Negative five A negative five.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Yeah, that sounds about right.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Is anybody from that nation going to yours?

Speaker 2 (09:09):
That nation?

Speaker 1 (09:11):
You say that? Please?

Speaker 2 (09:15):
No, no one from the nation is coming to my
bachelor att party. I'm just doing small groups. So I've
got like three of my best friends from high school,
three of my best friends from university, and then my sister,
so a little more intimate than you're fifteen to twenty
person five day ranger. We're just going for three days,
but we're still going to do all the things, and

(09:36):
then all of our bachelor friends will be hopefully at
the wedding, so that's where we'll celebrate with them.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
I am up money on this trip, which never happens.
I left Vegas. I did, I did really well, So
that's great.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
That's what I like to end up.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
Going back to Vegas when you're out there for years.
I'll stay away from you.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
No what, You're not coming to Vegas on my bachelor
at trip.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
But we were talking about potentially going again, so they
were together.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
We were talking.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Oh, you were talking with your friends about going again
in what two weeks?

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Yeah, but I won't be near you.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Stay home. You don't need to go back.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
I killed. I can't stay home, you can't.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
I need no you need to catch up on sleep
after the last night, and that's going to take you
some time for sure.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Also, I'm at, yeah, we're at like a pool party
and I look and I see you post it our
two year engagement. I'm like, wow, it's a two year engagement.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Yeah, I know. I called you, and my mom actually
reminded me Joe and I are really not great with
the anniversaries. But my mom was like, oh, it's your
it's your two year engagement anniversary day.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
I was like, oh, yeah, it is, So that was
that was sweet.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
I mean we were together so obviously didn't really celebrate,
but yeah, fun memory.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
It is a fun memory. That was nice. I was like, oh,
this is nice. That's that's crazy. Can you believe it's
been two years?

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Two years? No, I actually cannot believe it. I feel like,
and I think we've talked about this before, but I
was saying it to my mom yesterday. I feel like
it feels like it's been longer than two years. A
because probably like we're married and like we've had like
a speedy relationship, but B I feel like it's because Paradise,

(11:31):
like is a short period of time in our relationship
in terms of like days, but it feels like such
a long period of time in our relationship because so
much happens, and like you progressed so much, like we
were engaged at the end of it, So it feels
like it was like a few months of our relationship
in terms of like like how close we got and

(11:53):
like how much we learned about each other. Do you
know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (11:57):
This is my theory. You stole my theory. I've told
you this, Yeah, I said.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
We talked about this, But I feel like I'm expanding
on what you hire said you are.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Yeah. No, it feels like forever, but in a good
but it.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
Feel like forever.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
It's been waving together for a long as time feels
so long.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
But it feels like so long, but in a good way.

Speaker 5 (12:19):
That's because the twenty days of filming and Paradise feels
like oh yeah, yeah, it really does.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
So I always tell people like that, like, oh, it's crazy.
You got engaged there for nineteen days and it is
so crazy, But it feels it doesn't feel like nineteen days.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
Yeah, even like looking back on it now, you know,
like I don't look back and go like, oh my god,
like that was so I mean it was, like I
it was a short amount of time, but like I
feel like I don't look back and go like, oh,
I barely knew you then, do you know what I mean?
Like or I don't. I feel like this progression that
we made in Paradise felt really so magnificant at the time,

(13:00):
and looking back like it still feels significant. I don't
look back and think like, oh gosh, like we barely
knew each other. That's so crazy. I mean, it is crazy,
but we really did know each other. It did feel
like we had, like, really progressed in a relationship. And
I feel like I've said that three times now because
I'm sick deprived.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Yeah no, but I completely agree, I really do. I am.
And I was also thinking when I was in doing
a lot of thinking when I was in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
Where are you now?

Speaker 1 (13:31):
I'm igno thinking about what well, because I'm excited about
this first episode and just like us breaking down the episode,
because you and I when we do watch the show,
we'll talk about our feelings and what's going on on
the show right then and there. And we both watched
it separately and haven't talked about it at all.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Yes, yeah, which we did intentionally because usually if we
do watch it separately, I would like call you after
be like what did you think about all of this stuff?
But because we knew we were podcasting today and we
weren't going to be together to watch it, we were like, okay,
we'll watch it separately, and we won't. So I have
I haven't heard one thought from you about the screener,

(14:14):
which will be fun and we'll see how we'll see
how it goes. I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
And next week too, Next week you're going to be
You're going to be in Cabo, so we're not going
to be recording together again.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Yeah, that's that's a whole other scheduling situation that we
got to figure out. But I have no intention of
getting stuck on my way home.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
But we also have we have your cousin's wedding in Toronto.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
Yeah, it's going to be a really really busy few
weeks and we've been traveling like NonStop and there's not
really an end insight right now. But I think I'm
I think I'm in New York for like two days
out of the entire like month.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
All my years of living this year will be the
most traveled of my life.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
Really, you think more than last year.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Oh yeah, yeah, we've already we've it's we've been going
on stop now for like.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
Like six weeks.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Yeah yeah, and it's going to go to the end
our wedding, our honeymoon, which, by the way, I just
made a dinner reservation in digit.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
Yeah, We've been traveling a lot, and like a lot
of the upcoming travel is surrounding like our wedding and
our honeymoon and bachelor bachel at parties, which is obviously
so exciting. And I will give Joe full credit here,
like he booked our entire honeymoon, and like that's kind
of the structure of our relationship. Like I feel like
you are the travel agent and the relationship and I

(15:48):
love that you are, and you do all the research
and like you're making all the dinner reservations and it
just makes me so freaking happy that I don't have
to do that.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Adam, because you are a very good You're really good
at it.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
I know it's one of my talents. Adam and dam
and Raven were just there and Adam gave me the
restaurant wrecks. If you guys don't know Adam and Raven.
You probably do. They're a bachelor and Paradise couple. They
just had a kid.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Gave another one on the way.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
That was her beatie moon.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
I think why they were in Italy.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
Right, that's right, that's awesome, very romantic. Oh that's what
I meant to tell you. Did you watch the Mabeling commercial? Right?

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Okay, So we couldn't get it in Canada or at
least where we were. The network didn't have it, but
your mom and your aunt recorded it and sent it
to me. Your aunt sent a video of your grandma
and her watching it together. It was really sweet, but
I thought it was cool. Honestly. It was such a
long recording day, Like there's so many clips and stuff

(16:51):
that I don't want to say, like didn't make the cut,
but like it was like we had so much footage,
so it was really cool to like see it all
come to life and see like what they ended up picking.
And also I didn't see your target stuff at all
where you filmed, like the Inn store stuff, so that
was so cool for me to see.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
Yeah, did you like it? Did you see it?

Speaker 2 (17:13):
Didn't I send you the video?

Speaker 5 (17:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (17:14):
I liked it. It was so I never like watching
myself back, but it was it was fun. I liked it,
and we'll see it when it when it airs.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
I mean for me, like, I'm a makeup girl, so
like getting to do the mablein commercial second year in
a row is just like the coolest thing ever. Like
I love it. I hope they ask this a third year,
putting that to the universe.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Right now, I'm a makeup guy. I love Maplen.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Maybe yeah yeah, maybe it's Maplene the perfect fit for you.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
Maybe he's born with it.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
But okay, before we get into the episode, what what
are you feeling for this season? And you're feeling good
things like give me your overall vibe, your predictions going
into this season. You're like overging thoughts on Charity before
we like really dive in.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Yeah, okay, before I would say, I just I guess
my number My number one thought was that she she
really seems to have her life and herself like together. Yeah,
and like, oh yeah, when she was on Zach season,

(18:20):
I looked at her of like, you know, this is
a woman who knows what she wants, and I feel
like that's a great quality for a lead, and usually
that type of person will end up happily engaged at
the end. And yeah, this was just her premiere so

(18:45):
but you know.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
What's funny is I do feel like like I was
excited for her to be the volstrat one hundred percent
because I agree with you, she's definitely seems like someone
who has her life together in terms of like all aspects,
and I I think she's absolutely stunning. But I don't
feel like we saw her personality very much on Zach's season,

(19:07):
like actually at all, if I'm being totally honest. So
I was like, hmm, I wonder how she's gonna be. Like,
I just don't feel very connected to her in the
sense like I don't feel like I know who she
is as like a person in terms of her personality,
Like I know her like checklist, her resume, and she
seems great obviously, but like, who is this girl like
as a person. And I feel like they showed off

(19:29):
her personality so much in the premiere episode, and it
made me way more excited to watch her because she
does have this very like warm, bubbly, like fun personality.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Yeah, I couldn't agree more. I would say, just like
even the first five minutes of the premiere. I know
way more about Charity now than I did the entire season.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
One hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Like they definitely showed us the like on Zach season,
it was definitely like, oh, yeah, she's a but like
I was like, does like honestly, does she have a personality?

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Like I wasn't like, oh, she's boring.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
I was just like, I don't know if she has
a personality or not because it's not getting shown.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Or if like this is just her personality.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
But like, yeah, within five minutes, I was like, Oh
my god, she's so fun and cute, and like, yeah,
I'm excited. I'm way more excited to watch her season.
I feel like other people I can imagine feel the
same way after seeing the first episode.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Well even on Twitter, like everything is like people are
very excited for her and excited to watch her, and
it seems like all positive, which usually usually there's there's
some pushback, and it seems like, who knows, Maybe she'll
be the most adored, loved based her out.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
Of all time.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Maybe maybe we'll have to we'll have to watch and
find out.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Yeah, that was actually my favorite, one of my one
of my favorite parts of the premiere episode was the
Caitlyn style cameo. Cameo when she.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Came Oh my god, when she came in with her
wine and she's like, from what she called herself, a
washed up bachelorette.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Yeah, yeah, it's your favorite wash bachelorette. It was just
so seamless. So it was like that, that's so funny.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Yeah, she's They had quite a few little cameos from
a bunch of different past boucherettes.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
Yeah, good things.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
All right.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
You want to place the you want to place the wager?

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Oh sure, I'm not.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Really a gambler, as I like got nervous immediately, like
I started studying at the mint. I hear the word wager,
I'm like stuttering.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
I'm still yeah, I'm still in gambling mode. Do you
do you think she ends up happily engaged, No headaches,
just smooth, smooth engagement.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
What do you define as a headache, like like with
Zach and like where it was like a rocky road
kind of thing.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
Yeah, near the end, yeah, like like at the end,
like a huge like like a kind of I wouldn't
say as much a Zach situation, more of a Clayton situation.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Okay, Okay, that's a better example. That's a better example.
I think No, I think they'll probably be a couple
like major heartbreaks, because she seems like she's someone that
falls fast and hard, Like I feel like the guys
that she has a connection with, she's already like, whoa,

(22:33):
I'm really into these guys. So I think she's gonna
she's gonna have some major heartbreaks, but I'm feeling optimistic
that it's gonna be like a clean proposal at the end,
and I would love to hear that she's still in
love and happy. But honestly, I think this is the
least amount I've ever known going into a season. Like

(22:54):
usually I feel like I hear spoilers here and there,
Like I know nothing going into this season.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Yeah, yeah, very true, Yeah, very true. I even felt
I even feel like for Rachel and Gabby season, I
felt like there was a lot of spoilers for that season,
which I'm not a fan of spoilers. So I'm excited
that we know literally nothing going into Charity season makes

(23:21):
it so much more exciting. It makes it more exciting
to talk about it and podcast about it.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
Yeah, one hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
I feel like it lets me watch it with like
fresh eyes, you know what I mean. And I'm like
picking out like who I think is gonna go far,
who I think's gonna end up with all the things?

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Yeah for sure. And then this will be Bachelor Happy
Hour for the season. Will be the only place where
current cast members will be talking and coming on in podcastings.
