Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's awkward.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
It's Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
It's awkward Tuesday phone call. I know a lot of
Brook's relationship advice lately has been love should be easy.
But Brooke, I don't know if telling women to be
easy is necessarily great relationship advice.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Work for me?

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Okay, I save it for your patriot Pin Knuckle blog
all right. Personally, I prefer to take my love advice
from Tom Hanks in the famous women's baseball movie League
of their Own in.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Baseball, where he's a drunk through that whole movie, a.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Hot drunk, first of all, and he says, it's hard.
The hard is what makes it great. If it was easy,
everybody would do it.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Well.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
I think everybody should have.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
So to recap, Brook is pro being easy. I am
pro being hard. And on the phone with us today
is Kyle. And Kyle is having a tough time with
a lady right now that he's never even met before.
So Kyle, welcome to the show, and I salute you
for taking the love path less traveled. Yes, lou were
going hard? How you doing?

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Man? Hi? Guys, I'm trying hard to not be too disappointed.
I don't know, I'm starting to lose some hope, I guess.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Oh wow, we don't want hopeless. That's not a good
place to be.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Tell us about what's going on with you and your
love life. Why'd you email us?

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Okay? So I've been chatting with this girl for a
few weeks now. We haven't been on an in person
date like yet. Okay, okay, I mean we've talked over
the phone. We've been chatting a lot, and it feels great.
All right.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
What's her name?

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Her name's Leanna?

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Leanna.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
We've heard so many times right on the show about
how like the lead up is always so great and
then it just either fizzles or something changes. Is that
what's happening for you?

Speaker 2 (01:55):
It sort of feels like it. I mean I met
her online and it's not like Hinge or Bumble any
of the normal dating sites. It's like a little bit
more of a higher end dating page. Oh yeah, we
have to pay money, like kind of a lot of money.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
To join, just people who are really serious about dating.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Yeah, that's at least what I thought. It does feel
like we've been getting along really well. And I asked
her if I could send her like some flowers.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
Okay, nice, But why haven't you met up with her
in person.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
So that's kind of like part of why I'm reaching
out to you guys, because like, I paid almost one
hundred bucks to get these flowers delivered to her, and
then I don't hear anything about it from her at all.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Oh that's are you like Jose with a zuber EAT's
delivery where it could just never get to the right address?

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Did you double check?

Speaker 2 (02:46):
So I text her the next day and I'm like, hey,
did you get the flowers I sent? She goes, yes,
thank you so much. They were lovely. Okay, But now
that we're like off the dating app and we're kind
of just texting now, on her contact info, her last
name shows up. So I kind of searched her on
Instagram just to kind of see a little bit of
what's going on in her life.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
We're not judging who for that, that's normal.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, But on her Instagram profile, she's got
over like one hundred and twenty thousand followers, whoa our
show doesn't even have that many.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
What does she do?

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Is she an influencer or something?

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Yeah, she's kind of just like an influencer, it seems like,
but like in her story, she's got my flowers.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Oh oh, she posted about you. Oh wow, that's a
good sign.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Did she tag you?

Speaker 4 (03:34):
What did it say?

Speaker 2 (03:35):
She goes so quaint and small, they fit in my
car cup holder. Ooh. But then her story continues, she
donates my flowers to some old lady at this nursing home.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Oh oh, that's kind of cute.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
The type of person to post that, how passive, aggressive
and can fit in my cup holder.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
But the only reason that she even posted that is
because she doesn't realize that Kyle can see her Insta story.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
I don't know. I mean, you've got one hundred and
twenty thousand followers. It's like when I post stuff, I
edge on the side of everyone sees it.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
I like that you're comparing yourself to this one hundred
and twenty thousand follow out Instagram. She's posting it on
a public forum.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
She's got it open for the public to see. It's
not locked down on private like even if she doesn't
know that he saw it, she's got to give that
a consideration.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
I blame the woman. Good call. So Kyle, keep going.
You saw her post kind of something not that nice
about your flowers and then give them to a granny
at a nursing home. How did that make you feel?

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Dude? It kind of stone if I'm being honest. Yeah,
it made me dig deeper into her stories. And it
turns out she's getting like giant bouquets multiple times a
week from like other dudes.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Okay, all day the hawkgirl bro.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Welcome to the live man.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
But are we calling her? Like, what do you want
to do?

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Like overall with your awkward Tuesday phone call, who do
you want to reach out to you? What are you
looking for from us? The flower company?

Speaker 2 (05:04):
So like I've been talking with her here and there
about like paying her to fly her out to me
so we can meet him.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Oh, you don't live in the same city, so what
you haven't even mentioned that you saw the flowers on
the instant story yet?

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Oh no, okay, she lives in a different city where
you have to fly.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Well, I mean she's kind of led me to believe
that we were like really hitting it off. So I'm
I'm just trying to find love out here, and it
feels like she is, I don't know, leading me on
a bit for sure.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
So I'm a little bit confused, though. You want to
call this woman Leanna.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
To do what. Honestly, I kind of I want to
call her and ask her to take me seriously. And
I mean if she won't, like, I kind of want
to refund for my flowers.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Oh, you want her to go take them back from
the old lady. Okay, But what you really want is
to know is she really takes you seriously and likes you?
Where if this is just a fla I think we
can answer that question without even calling her. But let's
try it. We're gonna give you some advice and let
you make your awkward Tuesday phone call to Leanna see

(06:09):
if we can get you reimbursed for your flowers. If
she doesn't take it seriously, we'll do it.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
You can't say it while you're last.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
I'm trying to take it seriously. It's hard. We'll do
it right after this. It's awkward.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
It's Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
It's awkward Tuesday phone call. How do you convince a
woman to take you seriously in romance or reimburse you
one hundred dollars for the flowers you sent her and
she gave away to a random grandma is very hard
for both.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
It's the two options of love.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
Jeff, seeing this a million times, I think, But that
is the advice Kyle, our listener, is looking for today
because he's been chatting with a hotty he met online
named Leana, found her Instagram page and noticed he's not
the only dude who's been sending her big bouquets of flowers.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
Yeah, I mean important to know that she lives somewhere
far away from him on the other side of the country.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
So he's hoping to get some clarity on their relationship
or get a refund on the generous gift that he
mailed to her. So, Jose, what's your advice. How does
he get one hundred dollars back from Leanna? Well, bro,
you told us say you talked her about flying around already,
So if you want to see if she's taking you serious,
you need to tell her that you want to book

(07:24):
it today. Her reaction is going to tell us everything.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Well, I've got the miles, so I could potentially swing
it pretty easily. I mean, oh, okay, okay.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
She's like, if she's angry, no, you'll know there's something wrong.
If she's happy, you'll know.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Oh, we're on the same people.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
I think she's angry or happy. I think she probably
just doesn't care. Is the problem.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
You'll know, apathy really does hurt?

Speaker 2 (07:46):
It does it?

Speaker 3 (07:47):
Does?

Speaker 4 (07:47):
I feel for him?

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Why? What's your advice?

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Bro Well?

Speaker 3 (07:50):
I mean you sound like a real sweet guy looking
for a real connection. I think you need to say
just blankly. I saw your Instagram post about the flowers
I gave you, and then you say nothing else, because
it's in that silence that you're going to find the truth.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Good idea, broke a silent radio shop. I amble.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
I want to fill every void of silence ever and
I'm not good at it. But that's when you don't
get the right response.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
What do you think, Kyle?

Speaker 2 (08:19):
I mean, I feel like that sounds kind of right,
even though it's you know, sorry for the dead air, guys,
but I'm just trying to figure it out.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
All right, Well, you're you might be going with honesty here,
so we wish you luck. I would not want to
be in your shoes, but we will be behind your back,
ready to jump in and support you if you need it.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Okay, thanks guys.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
All right, man, I'm going to do it right now
here we go.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Hello, Hey Leanna, it's Kyle.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Uh Hi? Do I know you?

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Yeah, from from online. You know, we we've like talked
over the phone a couple of times.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Oh yeah, yeah, no, sorry, oh sorry, Kiln. How are
you well?

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Uh, I guess I don't know really.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
Oh well what do you what do you mean by that?
Is everything? Okay?

Speaker 2 (09:34):
M hm, Well, it's just I know you said that
you got the flowers that I sent you the other day,
and that you you said you liked them a lot.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
Oh my god, yes, no, no, no, no, no, I
really I really did. The purple ones right, it's like
some yellow mixed, don I think? Right?

Speaker 2 (09:56):
No, they were they were roses.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Yeah no, no, no they were they were right, Wait
right right? Sorry, pink and white ones? Right, so pretty?
It was so pretty?

Speaker 2 (10:09):
No no, they were just red.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
Oh my gosh, yes, no, no, no, wait wait I
do remember the red ones. I mean, thank you again
so much. You are the sweetest Okay, but.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
It sounds like you couldn't remember them just now.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
So I mean they were from last week. It's been
a while.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Yeah, I mean, I guess, I guess.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
So maybe you could send me more. I mean I
would love, I do love getting them from you.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Yeah, I mean maybe, But I mean it's just like
I feel like I should tell you that I saw
your Instagram and wait.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
Wait, wait, hold on, hold on you you went on
my Instagram? You are you like some kind of stalker
or something like?

Speaker 2 (11:07):
How did why did you? No? Like, that's that's not
the point that the thing is. I saw on your
insta story that you put the flowers in your cup
holder and you said how cute and tiny they were, okay,
and you gave them to some granny at the nursing
home like they really didn't mean anything to you.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
I don't know what you want me to say, like,
and maybe you.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
Could say, hey, I'm sorry for taking the flowers you
sent me and giving them away.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
What would you You don't even understand. I get so
many flowers sent to me. If I kept all of them,
my entire apartment would be completely covered and I wouldn't
even be able to get to the door. Uh huh.
So I would love and I actually really want you
to keep sending them to me. But if you can't understand, Ryan.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Yeah? My name is Ryan.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
It's not Oh sorry, sorry, Ben, do you understand what
I'm saying?

Speaker 2 (12:13):
It's uh, it's Kyle, right, Kyle.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
You get it though, Well, so I definitely.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Get what's happening with Leanna. Like it so honestly, like
I kind of want you to give me the money
back from the flowers. Wait, hold on, what, Yeah? I
mean like if you just gave them away, because you
get so many flowers every week that you'd have to
stumble through them to get to your front door. Like
the right thing to do would be to pay me back,
you know, like the hundred dollars that I spent the seventy.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Oh my god, Kyle.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Funny, we need to hit it again.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
Whoa wait what?

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Yeah, Leanna. Sorry to bust in on your conversation here,
but we have to tell you that you're on the
radio right now with a show called Brook and Jeffrey
in the morning. We're doing an awkward Tuesday phone call.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
No what, oh my yeah, your passions are so confusing
to me.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
Yeah, this for real. This is a segment that we
do to help out our listeners who need a little
bit of assistance calling somebody.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
And some advice.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Yeah, Kyle feels really betrayed by what he saw on
your Insta story where you took his flowers and gave
him to some old woman at a.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Retirement how did he feel betrayed? Though? That doesn't make
any sense, and he highlighted this woman's day. I don't understand.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Maybe Kyle can step in and tell you why he
felt so betrayed. Go ahead, Kyle, Well.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Those flowers were meant for you, and like to make
kind of make fun of them and like put them
up next to these other giant bouquets, Like what is
this some sort of size competition?

Speaker 4 (13:55):
Like I'm sorry that this this sounds like maybe your
project sing something. But I just said that they were
super cute and the fact that they were one hundred dollars.
I'm actually I'm i'stnest that they were that much. Okay,
you haf you got you were broke, you were I

(14:18):
feel like when you're.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Not concentrating on the right thing right here because you
don't even know his name. You have had multiple conversations
with this man. He thought he was starting a real
relationship with.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
You, right, Okay, Well, if he wants them like back
that bad, I mean, he can call the nursing home
he obviously has. For the rest whole conversation, you guys,
it's been honestly a huge turn off. I mean, there's
no way I'm going to meet that kid anyway.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
This has been a turn off for you as far
as Kyle goes them a kid.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
To me, he's a child like that's because of immature.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
You can't take competent kissing like you you're just I
don't know. You tuck your tail and run by Kyle.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Stand up for yourself.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
I mean, maybe things aren't great right now, but they
could be if we took the time to need and
like you never know, it could get better.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Everyone knows Kyle every well.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
Leanna doesn't know Leanna. Do you realize how many miles
that Kyle has on his credit card right now that
he is willing to spend. I don't know why you're
just asking guys for flowers.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
I feel like you need a better business.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Let's us think you can grow.

Speaker 4 (15:31):
I'm a Hordic culturalist, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
So you like flowers unless they're not big enough to
keep in your apartment and you got to get him
away only large flowers?

Speaker 4 (15:39):
Yeah what, I still can't believe they were one hundred
dollars you should get back.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
I mean, she had a.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
Sliver of an opportunity to turn this into some sort
of like feel good nonprofit situation for old Granny's.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
All right, Kyle, I mean I think at the end
of the day, we all agree she's a winner and
you just need to send her a better bouquet next.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
No, that is not what we're agreed upon, Jeffrey, Okay.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Just fly her out then and give her the bouquet.

Speaker 5 (16:08):
Person radio station, Leona, tell all of your one hundred
and twenty thousand followers to go listen to us Brook
and Jeffrey in the morning.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
No, I will, okay brooking Jeffrey in the morning.
