Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Weekend Podcast. Of course you can only
get this right here, and we're.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
So glad you're here. Seriously, and hey, listen, listen.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
We asked you a big question last week, would you
want a gen Z Versus classic movie?

Speaker 2 (00:13):
And overwhelmingly everyone said yes, yes.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
So we are so excited that our own Alexis went
ahead and watched.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Excellent. Yes, yes, yes, you all wanted to hear her
Wayne's World review.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
So let's just start with the most simple question, Alexiy,
what did you think the film was about?

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (00:40):
So I thought it was just kind of like two
stoners who are in a band.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Yeah, I mean, okay, it's pretty simple.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
I didn't really know what happens after that. I was
just like, all right.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
That's I'm always curious because, like I know, right now,
you've got your roommate at your house.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Is like her sister is sleeping on your couch.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
You have two people staying with us. There's four of
us total in the home in a two two people
on the.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Couch, okay, and neither are paying rent.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
No, what is this a welcome home? You are very welcome.
Just leave on my couch.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Max. Here's my question.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
So now You've got three other people locked into probably
watching this movie, which is how did they react.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
When you told them that you were all going to
watch Wayne's Worth?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Well, so actually they hadn't seen it.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Oh they hadn't.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
No, I seen it, So that's good.

Speaker 5 (01:36):
Then you guys can all watch it.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Except they didn't watch it with me. Yeah, they wanted
to watch Crazy Anatomy instead. So I did watch this
alone in my bedroom.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
I'm gonna say, I feel like this movie would be
less funny if you watched it by yourself.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
So I'm really curious. It says you're in your bedroom
on your laptop and my laptop. Okay, you're watching on
your laptop. It's so funny.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
So tough times then tough times?

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Yeah, so I know.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
You also revealed earlier this week that you like to
look up the plot of every movie you watch before
you watch it.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
I do because they give me anxiety. I don't like
watching a movie not knowing what's gonna happen.

Speaker 5 (02:14):
But does a movie do on purpose they build your anxiety?

Speaker 4 (02:17):
Yeah, and it stresses me out and I don't want
to watch so I need to know.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
But I did it with this because it wasn't.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
A very stressful like and it wasn't afraid someone was
about to die or something. That's when you look it up,
or like, what's gonna happen?

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Guy, Okay, I think we need to get a background
brooke that before I watched it and left to watch it.
Producer Boyd.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
We talked to him like I thought I would hate it,
hate it the way he talked to us about it,
So I low, very very low.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
We were in the Auks studio and Producer Boyd goes, oh,
you're having her do a movie review?

Speaker 2 (02:49):
What movie? And I said Wayne's World and he's like, God,
why would you pick that one?

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Yeah, puts it in her head. It's amazing.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
And then I started doubting myself, like it isn't not
as funny.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
So I looked it up on Rotten.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Tomatoes, because you know me, I always like to be right,
even if it's an opinion, I still want to be right.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
And I'm like, Okay, it got seventy nine percent rot
that's pretty good. That's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Yeah yeah, so exactly. So I was thinking the worst
of the worst. It was better than I expected. So
did anything make you.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Laugh out loud in Wayne's world.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Okay, I don't know if I actually like laughed out loud.
I laughed in my head to bits because you're alone.
It's probably people. I would have laughed again in my
bedroom alone. What made your head? I there's a lot
of love things.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
First of all, I do like Stacy, the kind of
psycho girl into him.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Yeah, the beautiful every man ever was in love with me,
really like the hottest woman that they had ever met.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
For my age, it was like, I think, a sexual
waking for many of my guy friends when they saw
her and wait.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Yeah, I just think it's so funny to have them
having girls like all into them.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
It's just funny, concess. I also like the scene.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
I I took a clip of sound from it when
he got his contract. I think it couse reminds me
of me when I get a job.

Speaker 5 (04:18):
Okay, yes, yes, I like what you've done here.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
I go to any professional thing in my life and
I'm thinking, Yo.

Speaker 5 (04:32):
Yes I see a clipboy, I will sign that.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
So I did like that.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Okay, what about the Bohemian Rhapsody car scene?

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Yeah, Alice Cooper is different than Queen right, It's very different.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Okay, see that.

Speaker 5 (04:46):
Yeah, you look about the Alex Cooper scene with Alx Cooper. No,
there's a scene she's like about and they're all in
the car.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
One of them starts saying all of them joy. Yes, yes, yes,
I know you're talking about. Was I supposed to love
that part? I want to sing alone, I want to
head bang.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
It happened, seem.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
To do that.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Well, I'm just wondering for our next car trip together.
If you're prepared for when I put that on, because
there is an expectation in my car, then we definitely
airband and you know headband.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Yeah it's uber. No I did that, Gus give me
the point.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
Like, I didn't like skip any parts, but I definitely
zoned out a chunk in the middle there.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
I didn't watch the car park.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
I did watch that, but I just mean, like some
stuff just happened, and then I rewinded to see what
I miss Alice Cooper Park.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Okay, yeah, we.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Suck that that was happening.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
I was confused because I missed it, so then I
rewinded to catch on. But like I didn't know who
else Cooper was that hit me the same and he's
not big now, you know, like if that was someone iconic.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Now I would.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
If it was Harry Styles, Yes, I would be in
sync bowing with that.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Okay, Okay, I mean Alice Cooper is their Harry Styles, Yes, okay.
So what's the cringiest part of Wayne's world?

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Garth is a person just like when he laughs and like.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
It's just like.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
When he was like daydreaming and did that like Foxy.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Lady that my last name was fox So that was
huge for me.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
You guys, Yes, people did it to me all the
time with the.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
That is so weird. I would never have heard of
that till I saw that. So there's a lot of
points with him. Yeah, but like his dog, you get
a nice dog, but the hair that kind of matched
his forgot the dog of his was a highlight. Okay.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
So if they did a remake of this movie, who
do you think should star as Garth and Wayne?

Speaker 3 (07:14):
It's so hard because it's originally.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
You know, Dana Carvey and Mike Myers.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
Oh so hard. I could see Pete Davidson. I could
tell the people I don't know who also matches him.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Yeah, it's like if Owen Wilson was younger, maybe like someone.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
You know, like Timothy shallow, make polic it.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
Because Davidson did not like skate skit like the FNL
they do make me think of it.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
What if they change the genre of music.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
What if this was to Taylor Swift lovers living in
their parents' basement a swifty.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Podcast would.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
Yeah, which also, actually speaking of this reminds me we
need to talk about the ending.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Okay, the fake endings that they.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Do three times. That is the worst part of the movie.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
A daydream.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
So they do one where.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
Like he doesn't want to sign the record deal with her,
everything goes bad, the girl's pregnant, whatever, they do it
Scooby Doo style, take up his mask, and then it's
the ending that killed me.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
No, they honestly got me on board at the.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
Movie and I was like, all right, this is actually
like a decent movie, and then that happened.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Okay, alright, the joke went on too far for Max. Okay,
how many things one through five would you get? It?

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Should your generation watch Wayne's World?

Speaker 4 (08:38):
It's so hard because like, I don't think you need
to watch it for like the actual quality of it,
but it's so the quotable, like it's kind of like
mean girls like I watched it, and there's so many
things I heard that I've heard in my life and
I had no so just to.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Be in on the pop culture, reverence on the pop culture.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
And so when you dress as it as Garthur Wynne
for Halloween, it's still a thing I see a lot of.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
People because it's probably and I never understood why.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
Okay, it's actually proven because the only things that I
remembered in the movie are the things you're talking about,
like the iconic moments like the Bohemian rhap city. I
don't remember the plot.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
I don't know how much longer it'll be iconic, you know,
like to my little brother and stuff.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Will you need to know what shwing is? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
I've got a lot of life left to live in
me as all.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Give it. Let's say three z's.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Three z's that's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Yeah, she's harder than Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
That's good.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
That's gen z versus classic movie. A podcast exclusive. If
you like it, we'd love it if you could follow

Speaker 2 (09:57):
You want to know.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
I don't know you want to watch it more but everything,
But you know what.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
The worst part of all is I never learned to read.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
It's the best
