(00:40):
suffering from an issue or hardship, you should seek help
from a qualified professional. All right, Now, go ahead and
leave your question at the sound of the beat.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
All our cheekies, I'm reaching out to you for support
or help or any suggestions. I see myself and you.
I watch dear guys' reality shows, and I'm the oldest
in my family and I do everything for my mom
and dad. I help them run their business, I help
them deal with like Stendon family, my grandparents, everybody. And
(01:12):
it's been like this last year and a half where
I know I'm not supposed to be here where I
live anymore. With my parents here in Texas, I do
live with them, and I just feel like in my
heart and in my soul it's thet for me to
move and go to Miami. I want to move to
South Florida, So I just I know you went through it,
(01:34):
and I just want to know what, how if I can,
if I should like it. I feel it in my soul,
in my heart, and it's time. But I have no job,
I don't know even where to start, how to get there,
what to do. I mean, I've been to Miami many times,
but to move, I've never done.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Anything like that.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
I've never been on my own. So I will love
just any words of affirmation or suggest first steps anything.
Thank you, I love you, and thank you for being
here for us.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Oh Maria, thank you for being here and for asking
me this question, because I definitely have some advice I'm going.
I always like to just add a little bit of
my own experience because I don't know if I've ever
said this that even in my books, But for a
long time, I felt that I had to move out
of my mom's house. But I was afraid. I was
(02:28):
afraid of losing everything. You know, it was so nice
to live in my mom's house, rent free. I was
working for her and it was just great. But something
kept telling me inside of me kind of like you're
feeling now, I need to move out, like I need
to move out, like my mom and I would bicker,
and I just felt like it would make our relationship
better if I just moved out. But I was afraid.
(02:51):
I didn't move out because I was literally paralyzed of
the fear of stepping into the known. And when we
step into the unknown and we take risks, that's when
we grow the most. That's when we learn the most
about ourselves. Your heart is already telling you I want
to do this. Don't let fear stop you. Because what
(03:12):
happened with me is life. The universe, God forced me.
Something happened, and some crazy stuff happened, and then she
kicked me out when for months and months and months,
my soul was telling me I got to talk to
my mom and tell her I'm moving out. So anyways,
it still happened. But life game a little kick in
the ass, you know, And that's okay because I used
(03:33):
to learn the hard way. Now I'm like, I don't
want to learn the hard way. So anyways, my advice
to you is definitely to try it. I know you're afraid,
especially because you've never lived on your own, but this
is the time. You don't have kids, I don't think that.
I mean, I don't think you have kids. You would
have said that right, or you're not married or whatever.
I think now is the time for you to just
move out. Try this. And I know they're moving companies
(03:55):
that'll help you move your stuff. It'll be a little costly.
So you do need a job, So I think maybe
finding a job first, saving up some money so that
you can move out, or you need to really make
sure you have your ducks in a row. What are
you going to do in Miami? So I would suggest
getting a job here or in Texas, should I say,
and save up money, because it is going to cost
(04:16):
you some money to like move away and everything. It's
not just okay, I'm going to figure out what I'm
going to do, unless you want to live out of
a backpack or you have someone in Miami that you
can you know, couchsurf and I don't know, but I
would first put my ducks in a row and make
sure that I have a job in Texas, save money,
and then have a secure job in Miami so when
(04:39):
I move or maybe you have enough money saves that
you can just you know, live a month or two
without having to worry about finding a job that quick.
You know, but I definitely say do it. Definitely. It
will help you grow and mature, and you will miss
your parents. You will like suddenly say, oh my gosh,
I had it really good at my parents' house. So
(05:00):
you need to do that in order to grow and
step into your own. You know, it won't be easy,
but it'll be fun. But don't have too much fun
because then if you have too much fun, then you're
not gonna be responsible. Balance, everything's balanced. I hope that helped. Maria.
Thank you so much for your question, and I am
curious to see what happens, so let me know. Update
(05:22):
us here on Dear Cheeky's. Okay, guys, so our next
question comes from Berlin.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Hi, cheekys.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Oh, I have a good question. If you were stranded
in an ireland, what are three things that you would
take and why?
Speaker 1 (05:41):
Oh my god, Malin, I love this question. Okay, If
I was stranded on an island, what are three things
that I would take and why? Hmm, I would for
sure take a devotional because I need my spirituality to
be fed every single day. I need to read something
to keep me like good and saying on that island,
(06:05):
I would take a lot of Wait, that's a good question.
Oh my gosh, you got me for sure my devotional
what else? Oh my gosh, this is see you look
at this. I can give you advice all day long,
but then you guys ask me these questions and I
get stuck. Can it be a person too? No, it
has to be a thing, right, like just the thing,
Just the thing, Okay, just saying just the thing. Okay,
(06:27):
I was gonna say, I'll take a medio, but okay,
all right, devotional one. And I would for sure take
something to like make fire, you know, because I don't know.
This is a very hard question. And then water. I
want water bottles because if there's no water like water
I could drink on the island, shit man, and food
(06:50):
like that astronaut food. I guess right. You gotta live,
damn Blen you you got me on this one. Girl.
I'm gonna keep thinking about this all day now because
I feel like the answers I'm giving you right now
aren't aren't that great? Okay, I'm gonna get back to
you on this question. But those are the things musclemanos
that I would take the first thing. Look at that
(07:11):
my devotional because for sure I need my devotional. I
need to speak to the lords every day. Yeah yeah,
sunscreen two? Oh my god, yes, me seeing you guys.
Oh my god. Okay, SPF, I need only three things.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
No, please don't ever, please God. I never want to
be stranded on island by myself, Please God, because then, yeah,
what am I gonna do? No music like Oh my gosh, Castaway.
I love the movie Castaway, such a good movie. He
really killed it. Yeah, oh I don't know Bellin you
got me? You got me with that one. Okay. So
(07:52):
our next question comes from marisoul Hi.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Tiki is nice to meet you. I've been trying to
send this first message for the past hour because I'm
not that outgoing and I was just noo shy even
if you don't even open this one, but it's there.
I wanted to ask you this question I asked Jackie,
but I want to know from your perspective. Also, do
you think your relationship with God is overall at your
(08:16):
mom's passy? There's the Wisconsin basos.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
I Wisconsin, which is it as Yeah? Is they thank
you so much for your question, marisoul Uh. You know what,
I've always been very connected to God. It actually got
a little weird after my mom passed. I was kind
of angry, I was upset. I was just like questioning God,
like why would you do this to me? Like it
(08:44):
was very tough. I think that's when my faith was
a little tested, like the most. But I've always been
very connected to God, especially like when I was like
ten eleven twelve, I was going to church with my
grandma like three times a week. I was reading the Bible.
I was like what you would call a Bible thumper.
They call like I was like super super religious. And
(09:05):
I think I think my grandma for that because she's
she would take me to church and then I went
from being religious to spiritual. So I've always had that connection.
And I really like that question because I've always been
very honest about what happened after my mom passed away.
But I was twenty thirteen, twenty fourteen, I was extremely tested,
but I always knew God is good and God knows why,
(09:28):
and he always shows up and shows off in my life.
So it's just like I feel like that's the only
thing that keeps me going is my faith. I'm as
strong as my faith, so it's always been something I've
always been weird in my family. Weird because I like
like candles and incense in Baosanto, and no one in
my family believes in that. It's just something that menasse.
(09:55):
Our next question comes from Alyssa.
Speaker 4 (09:59):
Chicken. I had two questions for you, a few things
that I've been wondering about. One of them was, I
know you are such a fluent bilingual speaker, and as
a person who's been learning Spanish for many years, I
was curious if your interior monologue, if you've talked to
yourself in Spanish or in English or in Bolts. It
(10:20):
seems like lately your interviews you've been leaning so much
heavily into your Spanish that I'm wondering if that's beginning
to take over in a way. And my other question
was regarding the telenovela Maricos Delario. I'm wondering if you
watch it or watched it. I should say, I'm still
making my way so slowly, but I was curious about
(10:42):
how you and the family felt about it.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Oh, Lisa, I love your questions. I'm going to answer both.
So you guys, you guys can ask me more than
one question in a voice note. Okay, so the first one.
I always speak to myself in English. I pray in English.
When I was younger, I used to in Spanish, and
I felt like only God spoke Spanish. So I was like,
God's not gonna hear me if I speak English. I
(11:05):
don't know why. I was young and I was like
the church I went to was in Spanish. Now that
we're talking about, you know, spirituality and religion and stuff.
As I got as I got older, because my first language, guys,
was Spanish. I did not know English until I was
like six or seven years old because I was raised
by my grandparents. But now I speak to myself. I
speak to myself a lot. I talk to myself a lot,
(11:26):
and I thought something was wrong with me, you guys,
But then I realized that that's a form of like
being a genius, because Einstein used to speak to himself.
So I was like, I feel better about it. But
I talk to myself all the time in English. All
my interviews because since I started my career have been
in Spanish. It's even weird for me to have interviews
in English now because automatically I want to speak Spanish.
(11:48):
So it's crazy that that you're asking me this, which
is I'm like, this is cool that I'm talking about it.
But yeah, I talk to myself in English. I pray
in English. Now I feel like Spanish is so passionate
that there's something I need to say in Spanish. I'll
say it because I feel like certain words and mass espanol,
you know, sort of thing. But it all just depends.
But for sure, when I have kids, I want to
(12:09):
speak nothing but Spanish to them.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
First.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Why did I just say that, I don't know, but
you know, just in case you were curious about that.
But anyways, okay, what was the other question? The other
question was Mari posalle barrio. I never I'm gonna be honest.
I watched a few of the episodes. I never watched it. Fully,
it was a little weird for me to see myself
and see my mom and see that certain things were
(12:33):
different in real life. And I know, for the sake
of the story things had to be told a different way,
and also because other people took charge of telling the story,
things were said and shown in a different way. So
it just kind of triggered me a little bit, but
it is for sure the closest one to my mom's
(12:57):
real life story because there had there have been a few,
and other ones have really pissed me off, but this
one was a lot closer because we were interviewed all
of her children, her siblings, her parents, my mom's parents,
so it was a lot closer to her real story.
But yeah, I only watched a few episodes and I
couldn't finish it, but people say that they love it,
(13:18):
and that makes me really happy because it was for
sure approved by us by her family. So Melissa, thank
you so much for your questions, and also to Maria,
to Belin, to Marisol, you guys, thank you for taking
the time to leave me your question. I hope I
was able to help you guys, and also Belin, You're
gonna have be thinking about that question the rest of
the freaking day until I find like three really good
(13:40):
things to take on this deserted island that I'm gonna
be by myself. Oh my gosh, I hope not ever. Anyways, guys,
thank you so much for listening to Dear Cheeky's Lo
