SEASON 3 EPISODE 105: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN

A-Block (1:45) SPECIAL COMMENT: Trump has just lost World War Three.

Trump listens to Musk maybe because he recognizes Musk is more insane than he is. Musk literally wants to own and rule the world. Musk just demanded this country withdraws from NATO. Other Muskers and Trumpers are following. If we leave NATO its remaining members will turn into a private hunting ground for Putin, or China, or both. Eventually he or they will run out of European countries to destroy and subsume and he or they will turn to destroying us.

As Senator Chris Murphy said yesterday: "The White House has become an arm of the Kremlin." It's that simple. Trump is the Russian Commissar of America.

And he's already lost World War Three - and evidently so have the British. Back home, Prime Minister Starmer did the unthinkable, met Zelensky not at the front door of Number 10 but he went INTO Downing Street to embrace him on the sidewalk. The front page of yesterday’s far right tabloid the Daily Mail headlined “outrage over U-S President’s humiliation of Zelensky” and insisted “Now stop the state visit for Bully Trump.” Demanded the British WITHDRAW their invitation for Trump to go there. But within hours their ambassador here undid all of that. Lord Peter Mandelson went on ABC This Week here and called for a “very radical re-set” that “has to consist of the United States and Ukraine getting back on the same page and President Zelensky giving his unequivocal backing to the initiative that Trump is taking to end the war and to bring a just and lasting peace to Ukraine.” Europe's nations “need to back the calls for a ceasefire and by the way I think that Ukraine should be the first to commit to a ceasefire and defy the Russians to follow."

Hey, Lord Mendacious? Forgotten already? Zelensky already signed a cease-fire with Putin. Signed in 2019. Putin broke it in 2022.

200,000 guys named Lord Gaseous and Sir Toby Belch and they sent the one who sounds most like Neville Chamberlain. The British are defending Zelensky but their Ambassador just surrendered to Hitler. I mean Trump. No, Hitler. It’s impossible to believe the Prime Minister hasn’t fired Mandelson already (“recalled” is the polite term; “vaporized” would be the accurate one). Regardless the schism is present and the schism is a repeat, a throwback, a re-enactment of 1938, where as Churchill said the British leaders had a choice between shame and war. They have chosen shame, they will get war later. The war THEY got later was World War Two.

The war WE will get later will be World War THREE.

We will have to go to war – the real thing, none of this Iraq bullshit – the real thing, millions dead – not just to free Europe and all the other places who thought we understood that the world is simply successfully managed tension between the forces of more-or-less-good and the forces of the Putins, Hitlers, Musks, Trumps, Chamberlains, and Mandelsons… not just to free them but to save whatever’s left of this nation after the headstart Trump and Musk are giving, right now, as we speak, to Putin and China.

Thus I’ll repeat what I said in the bulletin after the pre-planned performative and nauseating ambush of Zelensky last Friday: Trump has not only imperiled the freedom of the United States of America AND the existence of Ukraine AND the independence of all the nations of Europe he has also lost all moral right to keep power in this country and he must lose that power.

B-BLOCK (25:00) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: So. HOW does he non-violently lose power (and it must be non-violent, albeit probably unconventional)? I have the beginnings of ideas: a shadow cabinet, weekly press conferences to co-opt the Sunday and Monday news cycles, a huge multi

Speaker 1 (00:04):
Countdown with Keith Olderman is a production of iHeartRadio. Trump
has just lost World War three. That World War three

(00:29):
he keeps talking about, He's already lost it. Trump listens
to Musk, maybe because he recognizes Musk is more insane
than he is. Musk literally wants to own and rule
the world. Musk just demanded this country withdraw from NATO.
Other Muskers and Trumpers are following. If we leave NATO,
its remaining members will turn into a private hunting ground

(00:51):
for Putin or China or both. Eventually, he or they
will run out of European countries to destroy and subsume,
and he or they will turn to destroying US. After
the event with Zelenski, Trump has already lost World War III.

(01:11):
Evidently so have the British. Back home, Prime Minister Starmer
did the unthinkable. He met Zelenski not at the front
door of Number ten, but he went into Downing Street
to meet him on the sidewalk. The front page of
yesterday's far right British tabloid, The Daily Mail headlined outrage
over US President's humiliation of Zelensky and insisted, now stop

(01:34):
the state visit for bully Trump, demanding the British withdraw
their invitation for Trump to go there, but within hours
their ambassador here undid all that. Lord Peter Mandelsson went
on ABC This Week here and called for a quote
very radical reset. That quote has to consist of the

(01:55):
United States and Ukraine getting back on the same page
and President Zelenski giving his unequivocal backing to the initiative
that Trump is taking to end the war and to
bring a just and lasting piece to Ukraine. F U
pal wait, it's worse than that. Mandelsson, the ambassador to

(02:16):
this country, says European leaders should support Trump. They quote
need to back the calls for a ceasefire. And by
the way, I think that Ukraine should be the first
to commit to a ceasefire and defy the Russians to follow. Unquote, Hey, Mandelsson,
asshole forgotten. Already Zelensky already signed a ceasefire with Putin

(02:39):
signed it in twenty nineteen. Putin broke it in twenty
twenty two. Two hundred thousand guys named Lord Gasius and
Sir Toby Belch and they sent the one who sounds
the most like Neville Chamberlain, the British defending Zelensky at home,

(03:03):
their ambassador here to surrendered to Hitler, I mean to
Trump now, I mean to Hitler. It is impossible to
believe that the British Prime Minister has not already fired
Mandelsson recalled. Is the polite term? Vaporized would be the
accurate one. Told him to swim home would be the
best one. Regardless, the schism is now present, and the

(03:26):
schism is a repeat, a throwback, a reenactment of nineteen
thirty eight, where as Churchill said, the British leaders had
a choice between shame and war. They had chosen shame.
They would get war later. The war they got later
was World War II. The war we, thanks to people
like Lord Mandelsshon will get later will be World War three.

(03:50):
We will have to go to war. The real thing,
none of this Iraq bullshit, the real thing, millions dead,
Putin threatening or using nuclear weapons, not just to free
Europe and all the other places. Who thought we understood
that the world is simply successfully managed tension between the

(04:13):
forces of more or less good and the forces of
the Putins, Hitler's, Musks, Trump's, Chamberlain's and Mandelssohn's. Not just
to free those other countries, but to save whatever is
left of this country after the head start Trump and
musk are giving. Right now, as we speak to Putin

(04:34):
and to China, I'll repeat what I said in the
bulletin after the pre planned, performative and nauseating ambush of
Zelensky last Friday. Trump has not only imperiled the freedom
of the United States of America and the existence of
Ukraine and the independence of all the nations of Europe.

(04:55):
He has also lost all moral rights to keep power
in this country. And Trump must lose that power, as
one senator has praised it. Since that special report last
week started with administration officials refusing to acknowledge that Russia
started the war in Ukraine. It ended with a tense,

(05:17):
shocking conversation in the Oval Office and whispers from the
White House that they may try to end all US
support for Ukraine. I know foreign policy is not for
the faint of hearts, but right now I am sick
to my stomach as the administration appears to be walking
away from our allies and embracing Putin, a threat to
democracy and US values around the world. The senator who

(05:41):
wrote that was Lisa Murkowski, Republican of Alaska and as
clearheaded as she is in this time of boastful stupidity
and proud disloyalty to the nation inside her own party,
even she, as she wrote, that would not criticize the
convicted felon Trump by name. The crazy idea, maybe you

(06:06):
should switch parties if you were a Democrat, not only
could you criticize Trump by name, but your fellow Democrats
would let you criticize your fellow Democrats by name. One
of them, Chris Murphy, went on CNN yesterday and was
even more stark. Quote, the White House has become an
arm of the Kremlin. Bloodlessly simple, and utterly true. The

(06:31):
White House has become an arm of the Kremlin. Every
single day you hear from the National Security Advisor, from
the President of the United States, from his entire national
security team, Kremlin talking points. The last week, the White
House has been pretending as if Ukraine started this war.
That is essentially saying that Poland invaded Germany at the

(06:51):
beginning of World War Two. There are still facts in
this world, Senator Murphy continued, and the fact is this,
Vladimir Putin is a brutal dictator. Russia started this war,
and the entire pretext for that meeting was an attempt
to rewrite history in order to sign a deal with
Putin that hands putin Ukraine unquote. And I think Murphy

(07:16):
and Murkowski may actually be under selling it. If this appeasement,
or cowardice, or stupidity or sabotage of this and other
nations by foreign agents dressed up as our leaders has
already gone so far as to split the British government.
Trump is not just walking away from our allies and

(07:36):
embracing Putin. Putin is not just a threat to democracy.
Putin is not just a threat to our values and
around the world. But he has already begun to win
World War three. Britain's Lord Mendacious should be back in
London by nightfall, or while he's on his way back,

(07:59):
he should mysteriously disappear. We have enough native gutless appeas
who have learned nothing from history in Washington without having
to import them from other countries. Trump has sold out
to the Russians enough. Just ask the Russians. The Kremlin
spokesman Dmitri Preskoff to State Television, No, No, not Washington

(08:25):
Post Live TV. Actual Russian State television quote, the new
administration is rapidly changing all foreign policy configurations. This largely
coincides with our vision. Dmitry Peskov to Russian State television.

(08:45):
What he is saying is Trump has surrendered to Putin.
If you had any doubt that Trump has made the
White House an arm of the Kremlin to please Putin,
there is Putin's spokesman telling you it just happened. If

(09:07):
you had any doubt of that, or if you had
any doubt that Trump must lose power, I will address

(09:35):
what Trump must lose power means and that reality in
a moment. In the immediate short term, we are left
with this reality. Trump hated Biden. Trump tried to extort
Zelensky into fabricating fake evidence against Biden. Trump tried to
weaken Ukraine on Putin's behalf. Trump was impeached for these

(09:55):
high crimes and misdemeanors about Ukraine. Biden helped Ukraine and Zelensky,
and Zelensky came here to thank you the country, not Biden,
to thank the United States for its support for our support.
So Trump brought Zelenski here, set him up, tried to
blackmail and bully and humiliate him. And in what was

(10:15):
evidently supposed to be more of a threat than an
immediate change of American policy, Trump lost his mind again,
lost control of himself, may have urinated in his pants.
With cameras rolling, he threatened Zelenski in the White House,
exactly as he threatened the governor of Maine a week earlier,

(10:37):
exactly as he has been threatening other people since about
nineteen fifty, and nobody did anything to stop him in
nineteen fifty. So we have to stop him now with
cameras rolling, though, Trump revealed himself finally as he truly
is a coward, a draft evader, a feral animal, a menace,

(11:01):
a terrified little boy with old man, a creature who
without the power he has accrued through lies and the
exploitation of the least intelligent version of the public in
this nation's history, A man who would literally be in
jail right now. He is also taking every step enacting

(11:23):
every piece of treachery that his own party spent seventy
years warning America the Russians would take to overthrow our
form of government, including that little twist wherein the Russians
would take over one of our political parties. Only we
never suspected, as the Republican said this year after year
from nineteen eighteen into the nineteen nineties, we never suspected

(11:46):
once that those Republicans when they said the Russians are
going to take over one of the political parties, that
they meant their own party. They're the Democrats and the
Russian Republicans. And we need a Churchill right now in Britain,
and we need a Churchill in this country right now,
and we need two guys who recognize that even though

(12:07):
there might not be shooting and bombs for another twenty
five years, we are right now on the brink of
that war, and we are not just already losing it,
but the creature in charge of this country wants us
to lose it, whether he knows it or not. And yes,
it doesn't have to be guys who are Churchill. The

(12:30):
bitter irony here, though, is that the only figure who
even pretends to be Churchill right now is Trump, and
he has no idea who Churchill was, or what Churchill was,
or what Churchill stood for, or what Churchill would have
done to him and those traders like him. Those photos

(12:53):
of Trump grimacing into the camera, his official portrait, his mugshot.
Trump has said. Trump has said this that in those
photos he is trying to make himself look like the
official portrait of Winston Churchill. It's as if I were

(13:17):
trying to make myself in an official portrait look like
Edward R.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Murrow.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Now you have a nose and a mouth and two eyes.
Let me give you a little of the actual Churchill
that is appropriate to this moment. It is Churchill, from
the day from his timeline that most closely resembles this
day on our timeline. October fifth, nineteen thirty eight is

(13:46):
our March third, twenty twenty five. October fifth, nineteen thirty
eight in the British Parliament, after the Prime Minister Nevil
Chamberlain concluded the deal with Hitler in Munich, surrendering Czechoslovakia
to Hitler because Hitler promised that's all he wanted, there'd
be no more war. Wherever in what I quote Churchill

(14:10):
mentions Czechoslovakia, I replace it with Ukraine. Wherever he mentions Europe,
I insert the world. Other than that, this is Churchill,
word for word, nearly eighty seven years ago. Churchill quote,
I will begin my saying what everybody would like to
ignore or forget, but which must nevertheless be stated, namely

(14:32):
that we have sustained a total and unmitigated defeat, and
that Ukraine has suffered even more than we have. And
I will say this that I believe the Ukrainians, left
to themselves and told they were going to get no
help from the Western powers, would have been able to

(14:53):
make better terms than they have got. They could hardly
have worse. After all this tremendous perturbation, Our loyal, brave
people should know the truth. They should know that there
has been gross neglect and deficiency in our defenses. They
should know that we have sustained a defeat without a war,

(15:16):
the consequences of which will travel far with us along
our road. They should know that we have passed an
awful milestone in our history, when the whole equilibrium of
the world has been deranged, and that the terrible words
have for the time being been pronounced against the Western democracies.

(15:38):
Thou art weighed in the balance and found wanting. And
do not suppose that this is the end. This is
only the beginning of the reckoning. Trump must lose power finally,

(16:14):
to that to be clear, no matter how often Republican
Tea Party activists used to threaten Obama and other liberals,
Remember by quoting Thomas Jefferson about refreshing the tree of
liberty with the blood of patriots and tyrants. Remember how
often the Tea Party said that, I am not doing that.
I am not talking about the kind of violence and

(16:37):
insurrection that Republicans advocated in two thousand and nine, and
Republicans threatened in twenty sixteen, and Republicans attempted in twenty twenty,
and Republicans promised in twenty twenty four. I, unlike Republicans,
am not talking about violent upheaval and not endorsing violence
of any kind. That is the Republican plan, that the

(17:01):
solution to our crisis and illegit government run by an
insane man, exactly as would an asset or even a
spy from Russia would do. So, the solution may not
be of a conventional nature. That might be the case.
I do not know what form that non conventional resolution

(17:24):
to this might take. That Trump is a convicted felon,
has already broken countless laws, is being shielded by a
lawless and corrupted, pro totalitarian Supreme Court that is also
not of a conventional nature. Those qualities alone make his
presidency illegitimate, make him being president a fraudulent president, even

(17:50):
before he begins to actively turn his White House into
per Senator Murphy, an arm of the Kremlin, and to
turn this country into a satellite of Russia. Trump's seizure
of power has not happened legitimately, nor legally, nor by
the norms that almost by themselves held this country together

(18:11):
for two hundred and forty years. And even if they did,
they do not excuse him selling us out to Vladimir
Putin sabotage, treachery, treason. I will remind you that, as
often as the leaders of both parties and the more
corporate and statust of our historians will claim, in generation

(18:32):
after generation, we have not always stuck to the rules
which we claim are the only options for resolving things
and resolving them peacefully. It is pretty certain now that
the candidate who won the eighteen seventy six presidential election
in this country both in popular and electoral votes, did
not become president. Ruther for Hayes became president after the

(18:55):
Democratic and Republican bosses of the time made up an
extra constitutional solution extemporaneously convened in secret, they traded stuff,
They reached a grand agreement, a conspiracy, as others called
it then and since, that put the Republican Hayes in
the White House and the Democrat Samuel Tilden into the

(19:16):
dustman of history, but gave the Democrats the control of
the South, and ended reconstruction and sentenced the African American
population of this country to nine decades of what amounted
to apartheid. The eighteen hundred election was a tie between
Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr. It was decided essentially by

(19:36):
Alexander Hamilton, who went into the House of Representatives and
told representatives how to vote. The eighteen twenty four election
saw the winner of the popular vote and the man
with the most electoral votes, Andrew Jackson not made president.
The fourth place minisher, Henry Clay, threw his support to
the runner up, John Quincy Adams, allegedly in exchange for

(19:58):
Adams making him Secretary of State, and Adams became the president. Well,
these are somewhat distant events. I mean, we're not even
at the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the Rother
fraud B. Hayes event. It's a little distant. You're not
thinking that Republicans who opposed national suicide, who oppose becoming

(20:22):
a satellite of Russia. You're not thinking those Republicans Murkowski
and I don't know enough other Republicans to fit in
the phone booth will join a grand agreement with the
Democrats and force Trump out, you know, in May. I
agree with you. I don't think that's likely to happen.
On the other hand, that's all too distant. However much

(20:44):
Al Gore screwed up his own campaign in two thousand
and I know I worked for him. I met the
man who screwed it up, not Gore, his business partner.
However much Gore screwed up his own campaign, history is
already accepting that it was not the American people who
made George W. Bush president the first time. It was

(21:05):
the Supreme Court with the thinnest of excuses. And after
the stunt the Brooks Brothers riot, staged in part by
Roger Stone. So I guess one of the contingent plans
might be here. Anybody have access to an unlimited number
of attorney grade three piece suits. Yes, it's the United

(21:28):
States of America now. Three days without a madman dictator
ambushing an ally and guaranteeing we have already lost World
War three. Trump must lose power. So how I do

(21:54):
not have a complete answer to that, but I do
think I have the first steps, the very very beginning
of one. That's next. This is Countdown. This is Countdown
with Keith Olberman post scripts to the news, some headlines,

(22:24):
some updates, some snark, and still ahead worse persons, and
Jeff Bezos has finally figured out what to do to
Lauren Sanchez send her in to space. No, no, I'm
not kidding. This is the Countdown podcast and these are

(22:46):
the places where there's news, Dateline Washington. So I promised
you how to remove Trump from power? How Trump loses
power without revolution or violence or lightning strikes. And again
I have no complete solution here, or you would be
listening dead air because I would be out there doing it.

(23:07):
But there are the beginning elements in place, if only
we will act upon them. I've already discussed the idea
of public action, and yes, it would look very nice
if there were overhead drone shots as in Israel, of
major highways being filled every Saturday or whatever day of
the week. You'd like with millions of Americans protesting this,

(23:29):
it would be very good. It would also prompt Trump
to bring out the military to start shooting people. I'm
not sure we want that. However, there are other measures
that we can take in which they can't shoot any
of us. As I've said before, that one day economic
boycott Friday, the twenty four hours of not buying stuff,
make it twenty four days, make it twenty four months.

(23:50):
Bring the corporations to their knees. Don't buy what you
don't need. Use last year's phone and last year's car,
and get your water out of the tap, and get
your coffee out of the coffee machine. Spending thirty five
cents for coffee was considered an extravagance when I started
working in this business in the year eighteen sixty six.

(24:15):
But there are other elements that require the Democrats. I
know they're not all Chris Murphy, are they. A lot
of them are Chuck Schumer, A lot of them are
Kathy Hochel, A lot of them are even worse Eric
Adams and Andrew Cuomo. But the Democrats need to adopt

(24:36):
a couple of very simple measures. It's not like they
are required to do a lot. Right now. They are
in the minority in both houses of Congress, and we
do not have the White House. There are individual states
in which Democrats are still vibrant and in charge and
going to court every day, and this must continue. But
for the rest of them, for the Chuck Schumers of
this world, for the Murphy's of this world, four of

(25:02):
them are Kowskis of this world. If she listens to
mind Vice and joins the real party, we need a
democratic war room. We need a group of more or
less think tank democrats to sit there and figure out
how to respond, how to anticipate Trump's next move. There
should have been a news conference within one hour of

(25:23):
Zelensky leaving the White House in which Democratic leaders described
this as Chamberlain and Hitler nineteen thirty eight. And do
not hesitate from calling Trump Hitler right now. You need
to break him, because when it does not go his way,
he reacts the way he did to Zelenski on Friday.

(25:45):
I thought at first that the whole thing was premeditated,
but I'm now coming around to the idea that it
was there to shake him down and get him to
agree to less than they told him. He was going
to get and then Trump lost his mind. And we
need to see Trump losing his mind every possible time.
And we have that coming up. I'll get to that
in a moment. We have that coming up tomorrow. We

(26:08):
need a democratic war room. Schumer can be there. He
has power. Jeffries can be there. He has power if
only he will use it. AOC needs to be there. Frost,
the young Democratic congressman, needs to be there. We need
them to be there and to shout bloody murder. We
need a democratic policy war room to anticipate what's happening

(26:31):
and to offer alternatives and to remind Americans what's actually
going to happen. We need a Democratic spokesperson again, AOC Buddha,
judge hell Rachel Maddow. I don't care who it is,
somebody who's out there every week, and I've already said
the time to do this is eight am Sunday. Chuck

(26:53):
Schumer's only good idea, the thing that propelled him to power,
have a news conference on Sunday when there is no
goddamned news, and do it before the Sunday morning news shows,
so you set the agenda so they are reacting, not
to what Trump just said while he was on the
Crapper at five thirty am. But what you said in

(27:15):
a nice arranged press conference in a happy setting with
an open bar at eight am and Bloody Mary's for
everybody and brunch. As Cosell said about the four freedoms
for media, freedom of lunch, freedom of drink, freedom of food,

(27:37):
freedom of transportation, and freedom of admission, hold one of
those every Sunday morning and the Democrats are back in business.
Have them all up there. Have Buddha Jedge be the spokesperson,
and AOC and Schumer and all of them, and rotate
them in and out, and have a host. Have a host,
a guy who's doing the whole in and out of
every segment. Televise it, live feed it, live stream eight

(28:01):
am Sunday. Because the Sunday morning shows are on Sunday morning.
You get two days of setting the agenda. The content
is almost irrelevant at that point. Hell, Trump hasn't had
a good idea since he was four years old, and
he sets the agenda because he has bad ideas, and
everybody talks about it. They don't talk about what an

(28:22):
idiot is. They talk about whether or not his idiotic
idea is very idiotic or just a little idiotic. Are
they saying how many Communists there are in the State Department. Yes,
they're not saying whether or not there are any. I know,
I just mangled the quote from the Manchurian candidate. But
that's the whole point. Sees the airways and then figure

(28:45):
out what to say. And to that end, where is
our adaptation of perhaps the best aspect of the British
parliamentary system. The British party that is not in power,
the leading opposition power party, has a shadow cabinet secretary
of defense. Heg Seth. There would be a secretary, shadow

(29:08):
secretary of defense, some member of the Democratic establishment with
good defense chops anybody, anybody who isn't drunk would do.
Anybody who doesn't take his orders from Elon Musk and
tells members of the Pentagon to get back to Musk
with those what did you do this week? Emails? A

(29:31):
shadow cabinet, shadow secretary of state who could get up
there and say, we're a little worried about Marco Rubio
after everybody took turns peeing on him in the Oval
office and destroying any hopes he had that he had
some influence that he wasn't just there to tell JV

(29:52):
Vance that his eyeliner looked good. We need somebody to
get up there and humiliate Marco Rubio. We can need
somebody else there, I mean, besides Marco Rubio. We need
somebody to get up there and humiliate heg Seth. Somebody
of fish. Because the media, as dying as it is,
still has overwhelming sway in this country and how things
are framed and how things are broadcast to the consumer,

(30:16):
the voter is still largely out of the hands of
the politicians. It's what you offer, what you make the media.
People who make these decisions think are the right decisions. Oh,
I know what to do. I've seen this before. We
should present an hour of Pete Buotagedge answering all of
these things that the Trump people have just said. That

(30:40):
would be Shadow Secretary of State Pete Budajetge. There are
two other things we can do to accelerate Trump losing power.
Emphasize one aspect above all else. With Elon Musk He's foreign,

(31:01):
he has an accent. In the last few months, the
accent has I've mentioned this before, it's gotten worse. He's
now almost don until he is South African. He's Afrikaner,
he's boor War. He's the man who put Mandela in jail,
isn't he? Or the descendant of one of them? As

(31:25):
you know, I am a proud child of immigrants, and
I consider myself such. Even though the first Olberman got
to this country in eighteen forty seven. I don't think
anybody in the roots of this family arrived here later
in the eighteen eighties. And I still think of myself
as the child of immigrants, and I carry that proudly.

(31:45):
And when we discovered that the Ukrainian Polish guy, my
great great grandfather wasn't Zelenski but Zelenski, I was damn
proud of that. And yet I'm saying this, use the
immigration thing against Elon Musk, because if the Trump crowd
hates immigrants, use this against them, Use this against Musk.

(32:08):
What is he if not the ultimate immigrant? He don't
even speak English. Good The idea that people are getting
fired and losing their farms maybe, and certainly farm income
and veterans are going to be made homeless, and medicare
is being threatened by a drugged up foreigner. I mean,

(32:29):
it's a low blow. It hurts me as the sun
Well great great grandson of immigrants, but it's totally legit
and very effective, and it goes to the heart of
their belief system. There's no blow that lands harder than
when you take the club out of the idiot's hand

(32:51):
and hit him over the head with his own club
or shoe. Speaking of which, they have a new bete
noir on the right, which you can exploit in this
particular situation. This guy Draino, this Rogan knows something named
for either Joe Rogan or sportscaster Fred Rogan. I don't

(33:13):
know what, retweeted Laura Loomer, so you can tell in
this tweet the total IQ spent was like forty eight points.
Did you know that DC Judge Emir Hatze Madhi Ali,
the judge who ordered the Trump administration to temporarily lift
the funding freeze a US ad abroad, has only been
a US citizen since twenty nineteen and has dual citizenship,

(33:35):
to which this guy Draino writes, why the hell are
we allowing dual citizens as federal judges? Conflict of interest? Oh,
they're big about dual citizenship. Now, I wonder who has
dual citizenship. In this equation, Elon Musk is a dual
citizen of Canada and the United States pass it on

(33:56):
dual citizens Holy crap. There is once again and more
evidence that we are not going to survive, based on
our herculean efforts to save the democracy and avoid the
World War three, that we're already losing. It's not that
it's their stupidity, it's them looking at this question of
dual citizenship without asking, Hey, what about Musk? Don't he

(34:18):
talk funny for a guy from San Francisco, Texas wherever
he's from Canada? Wait a minute, didn't we just go
to war with Canada? I bet this guy knows that
Wayne Gretzky bastard. Hey, we didn't make the rules here.
This isn't Keith al Rimans America. This is Donald Trump's America.

(34:42):
There are rules here. They're Trump's rules here. Use the
rules to bury Elon Musk up to his neck in
the sand with the tide coming in metaphorically, and there
is one last one. Tomorrow night, Trump will address Congress.
It is not although it might as well be the
State of the Union address, it can't be called the

(35:02):
State of the Union, because that's the tradition in the
first year of her presidency. Plus, what the hell would
Donald Trump know about the state of the Union unless
it's the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics well formerly the
Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. But Alexandria Ocasio Cortez asked online,

(35:22):
if you were in Congress, what would you do for
the state of the Union? What do you think Dems
should do? Number one? How many other Democrats would think
to crowdsource this to get people involved in the way
people get involved today when people live their lives three
four years at a time without ever actually talking to

(35:44):
anybody in person. She crowdsourced it online. What would you
do for the state of the Union? What do you
think Dems should do? Well? I think they should start
by hollering him down, and those who can sneak whistles
in should blow the whistles, and then they should boo,
and then at five minutes they should all stop and
start chanting Zelensky's name, drown him out for five minutes,

(36:08):
and then stand up with your backs to him for
five minutes, and then walk out. So the answer to
the question should they walk out, they should not even attend. No,
don't miss the opportunity. Don't miss the opportunity to be there.
But also, you know, make a spectacle of yourselves. Yes,
boo him, Yes, chance Zelenski's name. Yes, then stand silently. Yes,

(36:34):
then show him as much disrespect as possible. Yes, then leave,
take over the narrative. We are going to need civil disobedience.
It damn well better be endorsed by and lived by

(36:55):
the elected Democrats. First, you are God, help us our
leaders get to work. Dateline, Cincinnati. What is my opinion
of Trump pardoning Pete Rose, the infamous and now late

(37:16):
baseball gambler. My opinion is Trump needs to lose power
after ambushing our ally Zelenski. He brought up the Pete
Rose thing hours after realizing that not everybody in the
world agreed with him about that on Friday. The amount
of surprise in Donald Trump's life that he does not
express must be enormous every day. It must be several

(37:38):
megatons worth. What do you mean they don't all agree
with me? What do you mean there was blowback? What
do you mean Marco Rubio looked literally like flat Stanley.
On the other hand, there are details here that I
can't miss because I did spend much of my life
in sports, and was in fact at the news conference

(38:01):
at which Commissioner Bart Chimatti, father of the actor, banned
Pete Rose for life on August twenty fourth, nineteen eighty nine,
for gambling repeatedly. The correct headline on Trump and Pete
Rose is Trump promises to pardon alleged pedophile or Trump

(38:21):
promises to pardon alleged child rapist. I had turned on
this after years of opposing Pete Rose's reinstatement to baseball.
I had said, enough is enough with the steroid era.
This is a relatively small crime. And then the part
came out about having his ongoing relationship with a teenager
under the age of sixteen while he was married and

(38:43):
starring as a player for the Cincinnati Reds in the
nineteen seventies. That accusation came out, and that's where I
went go to hell. But on top of what Trump said,
which we'll get to in a moment, the Baseball Commissioner
rob manfred a frog who owns golf clubs. I don't

(39:04):
mean I'm not insulting him with the reference to another
country anything. I mean, he's a frog. I mean, he's
an amphibian and he has golf clubs. That's the entirety
of his life. He is considering now, knowing which way
the wind blows, because he has golf clubs. He is
considering a petition that was filed apparently on the eighth

(39:25):
of January by Pete Rose's family per ESPN to have
him posthumously removed from the banned list the ineligible list,
Baseball sources acknowledged accordied ESPN. The commissioner met with Fawn
Rose and a lawyer, and Manfred is now reviewing the
petition to reinstate. He rejected the last one after meeting

(39:47):
with Rose in twenty fifteen, and this justice coincidentally happens
the day after the Trump post. Over the next few weeks,
I will be signing a complete pardon of Pete Rose,
who shouldn't have been gambling on baseball, but only bet
on his team winning. He never betted against himself or
the other team. He had the most hits by far
in baseball history and won more games than anyone in history.

(40:10):
First off, there is no such word as betted. You're
thinking of betted, be etted, President Moron said today betted
the other thing. I have been fighting this literally for
thirty six years. He only bet on his team winning.

(40:30):
Let me deconstruct this very briefly. If you bet on
your team, and you are the manager of the team,
and you decide who plays in the games of the team,
when you bet on the team to win, I guess
in some sense that's fine, even though it was against
all baseball laws and several, as it turned out, federal
laws because he didn't report the income and went to

(40:51):
jail for it. It's okay in a sense to bet
only on your team to win, rather than to bet
on them to lose. But what about what happens on
those days when you don't bet at all. Have you
not passed aggressively bet against your team because you have
the decision over whether or not you use your star
relief pitcher in the game you have bet on, or

(41:13):
in the game you have not bet on. It's just
as corrupt as if you bet against your own team.
You are, in a sense betting against your own team,
only instead of it being money, the bet you are
making is not using that player in that game. You
are affecting the outcome of that game. Let alone betting
on it. I know I lost Trump at the word betted,

(41:36):
Pete Rose in death being used as a deflection for
the latest Trump loss of World War three and dateline Secaucus,
New Jersey. To wrap it up, Michael wolf the author,
tells the German news outlet Zeit MSNBC had a full

(41:59):
day of interviews scheduled with him for his new Trump book,
but MSNBC canceled it out of fear of Trump. I've
known Michael Wolfe a long time. I think I interviewed
him first in the old MSNBC show in nineteen ninety
seven or nineteen ninety eight, and I've never fully decided.
A lot of his information is one hundred percent insightful

(42:19):
and great, and his analysis is really good, and his
picture of the world of media is sometimes prescient by years,
and then the rest of the time he's full of it.
So I don't know if this is true or not.
But given the race purge at MSNBC, have we forgotten
about Joy Reid already and Fang and the others who

(42:41):
were demoted, including the one guy Iaman who came back
on the air and said, I haven't been fired, I
haven't lost my show. I've been afforded new opportunities with
more hours, a show in which I will be one
of many different hosts. Maybe he thinks nothing happened to him. Still,
MSNBC had a full day of interview scheduled with him
for his new Trump book, but they canceled out of

(43:02):
fear of Trump for some pas reason that rings true.
Worse persons next, believe it or not, In this all

(43:40):
new edition of Countdown, there's still more new idiots to
talk about, the unwashed, unloved, the dunning Krueger definitions. Who
are today's worse persons in the world? Le Bron's worse
A moron Republican congressman. I know that doesn't really narrow

(44:03):
it down, does it? No? Not, Oh, you lie Wilson,
who has proposed a two hundred and fifty dollars bill,
which is exactly what we need in this country, get
rid of the pennies. We need another useless piece of money,
two hundred and fifty dollars bill. How about a two
hundred and forty nine to ninety nine dollars bill with
Trump's face on it, because we really need a bill

(44:24):
with an odd number on it, Like anybody uses cash anymore.
By the way, No, not him, Rather Andy Ogels, who
represents the Moron District of Tennessee. He wants a new law.
If you miss this, the right wing conspiracy machine that
installed Trump in power is focused not on Trump humiliating
himself with Zelensky or losing World War III. It's focused

(44:47):
on what was not in the so called Epstein files.
Representative Ogels is proposing a law about the Epstein files,
not about any of the acts in the Epstein files,
just the Epstein files. It's called the Pedo Act. Ped Oh,
what do you have to quote Representative Ogles. The Peedo

(45:11):
Act would fire FBI obstructionists who delete, destroy, alter, or
otherwise cause to be removed any record, in whole or
in part that is related to Jeffrey Epstein. The American
people deserve transparency and the truth, so FBI obstruction is
to alter the Epstein files would be fired. But the

(45:34):
FBI is run by Cash Pattel. Cash Battel is run
by Trump, so anything done at the FBI about Jeffrey
Epstein is done by cash Battel and approved by Trump.
So Congressman Ogles wants a law that would demand the
firing of cash Battel and Donald Trump. Okay, okay, let

(45:57):
him cook.

Speaker 2 (46:00):
Man.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
What a great idea. I'm sorry I put you on
the words. You may have solved our quest. How do
we have it that Trump loses power? Well, get him
on this epsteamless thing. Yeah, I don't know this idiot
congressman and then Republicans approved it and he signed it.
That's all I know. The runner up worser. Well, here
he is, Ed Martin. You know this guy, he's nuts.

(46:25):
He is now the acting US attorney in Washington, d C.
And he is crazy as a jaybird. Anna Bauer, who
is the senior editor of law Fair, pointed this out.
Several online Republican influencers made up a story claiming one

(46:48):
of them is at Matthew Nickel five Obama's team, and
he said it was a rumor. Obama's team, including Anthony Blincoln,
Victoria Newland, Susan Rice, and Alexander Vindman, advised Zelensky to
reject Trump's deal in violation of a Logan act. Of course,
it's not true. Didn't happen, the guy himself said, rumor

(47:08):
has it? US Attorney Ed Martin has responded by retweeting
this and writing concerning no one is above the law.
We'll find out about that at your trial. At Martin.
Anna Bauer from Lawfair Senior editor, high Ed, do you
think it's appropriate for an acting US attorney to spread
false info accusing uncharged individuals of criminal acts? Do you

(47:29):
think this public statement is consistent with DOJ norms and
your ethical duties as a member of the bar. Looking
forward to your response, I'm expecting Ed Martin's response to be,
what's do J stand for? This guy is literally not
all there but our winner. Speaking of which, Jeff Bezos,

(47:54):
this is for all the things that we've endured. This
was the greatest headline of the week and the weekend.
Are you ready Katy Perry, Gail King, and Lauren Sanchez
to fly into space on Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin next mission?

(48:20):
Anybody else see a darker side to this news? Oh,
Jeff Bezos plans to send his own girlfriend into space
on his own rocket that he owns, the maintenance of
which he's in charge of. And here come the sparks

(48:45):
and she's going to be alongside Gail goddamn King and
Katy Perry. The number of other jokes I thought about
here are all far far meaner than the one I
just did, far more grim. The nicest of them was, Hey,
the Blue Origin spacecraft. It has the opportunity to do

(49:08):
the funniest thing ever. By the way, David ful Conflict
at NPR reports that after Bezos's announcement that the WAPO
op ed Department would now only print opinions that he,
Jeff Bezos, agrees with I e. Things he thinks Trump
will thank him for and not reveal whatever secret he's
blackmailing Bezos with, the Post lost another seventy five thousand subscriptions.

(49:31):
That's on top of the three hundred thousand that Bezos
cost himself after he killed the paper's editorial endorsing Kamala Harris.
They're down three hundred and seventy five thousand subscriptions. Three
hundred and seventy five thousand subscriptions would fuel most smaller city
newspapers in America. And that's how much they've lost. In
addition to all their credibility, they're now a right wing

(49:53):
news outlet like Politico is a right wing or conservative
or fascist news outlet. Plus more practically speaking, they've lost
more money three hundred and seventy five thousands of scriptions worth.
You know what a subscription is? Who will underwrite Lauren
Sanchez's twenty twenty five annual plastic budget. Jeff to the Moon,

(50:17):
Lauren to the.

Speaker 2 (50:18):
Moon, Bezos two days, other worse, Why sudden, Well, outer space,
the word.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
I've done all the damage I can do here. Thank
you for listening, and please enjoy the rest of World
War three. Brian Ray and John Phillips Chanel, musical directors,

Mister Chanelle handled orchestration and keyboards. Mister Ray was on guitars,
bass and drums. It was produced by Tko Brothers. Our

stadium organist ever, Nancy Faust. The sports music is the
Olderman theme from ESPN two, written by Mitch Warren Davis
courtesy of ESPN Inc. Other music arranged and performed by
the group No Horns Allowed. Everything else was as ever
my fault. My announcer today was my friend Larry David.

(51:35):
That's countdown for today, just four hundred and twenty days
until the scheduled end of his lane Duck blame brain
term unless Musk removes him sooner or he loses power
before that, where the actuarial tables do the business for us.
The next scheduled countdown is Thursday. As always, bulletins as
the news warrants, remember impeach Trump. It won't work now,

(51:57):
it will win the Democrats the mid terms. And all
the options you have for tomorrow night's speech, use them all.
Boo blow whistles, stand with your backs to him silently,
and then walk out in the middle of the speech.
All of the above until next time. I'm Keith Alderman.
Good morning, good afternoon, good night, and good luck. Countdown
