Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hello, friend, it's mister Jim and welcome back to Kids
Animals Stories. Holy smokes, Henry the Hippo has just been
taken by Cyrus the Poacher. What is gonna happen to Henry?
Is his friend Oxford the Bird gonna be able to
save him in time? I don't know. Well, are you

(00:25):
ready for today's adventure?

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Me too?

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Let's go there.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Wow. Now that is a big hippopotamus. I mean a
hippopottum hip. How do you say it? A hippopotum hippo.
That is a big hippo. I can't wait to show
everybody else. They're all going to be jealous of me.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Right, let's go. That was Cyrus the Poacher. He has
just stolen Henry, our hippo friend, right out of his leg.
And where is he taking him? I don't know, but
this is against the law, and that is what poachers do.
They break the law with animals. Oh, don't worry, Henry,

(01:23):
I'm right behind you. That was the voice of Oxford
the Oxpecker, Remember that bird that was really good friends
with Henry. Yeah, he is determined to help Henry break
out of this cage that is on the truck. You
see Cyrus the poacher had put Henry, our hippo, inside
of a cage and put it on the back of

(01:44):
his truck. He's driving through the savannah and Oxford is
flying right above them. Do you have any ideas of
how Oxford might be able to get Henry out of there? Well,
because right now Henry's kind of tied up in some
net inside of a cage that is locked, and Cyrus

(02:06):
has the key inside of his truck. What is Oxford
going to do? Inside the back of the truck, there
was Henry. Oh no, he what is gonna happen? He's
taking me out of the lake. My skin is starting
to dry up. I really need to get back in
the water fast, said Henry. Oh, yes, that's right. Hippos,

(02:29):
they their skin can dry out really quickly, and so
they have That's why they have to stay in water.
I don't know if Cyrus knows about that or even cares,
but Henry has got to get in water fast. As
they bump their way blah bla b B B B
all the way through the savannah to Cyrus's property, the

(02:53):
truck was approaching a gate I guess on Cyrus's property,
which was very big the road coming in and had
a gate that locked, so he had to stop the truck,
get out and unlock the gate. Oh maybe I can
fly right into the truck and get the keys and
then I can unlock Henry. Yeah, that was Oxford with

(03:16):
a plan. He waited for Cyrus to get out of
the truck and walk towards the gate. He left the
door open, which was perfect. Oxford was able to swoop
into the truck and grab the keys for the cage
with his beak, and he flew out without Cyrus even knowing.
All right, now that he got the gate, let's get

(03:37):
this animal up to its cage. This is gonna be awesome.
Oxford had to act quickly. He landed on the back
of the cage with the set of keys and tried
the first key, then the second key. Henry turned around
to see him. Oxford, you made it. You're here to

(03:58):
save me. Try unlock it. Oh, I'm trying, but there's
so many keys to pick from, said Oxford. After the
fifth try, he finally found the key that worked. It
slipped in and turned to the right and unlocked the cage. Hurry,
Henry has gotta get out of that cage. Before they
are inside Cyrus's property and the gate is closed. You

(04:21):
don't want to be on the inside of that gate.
The door to the cage swung open, and Henry looked down.
The truck was driving through the gate. They're running out
of time. I'm so scared, but I gotta jump for it.
One two, three.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Henry the ginormous hippo jumped for it, which sent the
truck bouncing, and Cyrus smashed his head on the steering wheel.
Oh what in the world, who's there? As Cyrus turned around,
he saw Henry the hippo standing outside of the truck.

(05:02):
What in tornation? Get back here. Cyrus jumped out of
the truck and started chasing Henry. Oh no, are hippos
slower fast? Do you think Henry is going to be
faster than Cyrus? He actually is. Hippos can run up
to thirty miles per hour. That is super fast for

(05:26):
an animal, and super fast for an animal as big
as Henry. As Henry started running as fast as he could,
he almost gallops like a horse. Broom, broom, broom. I
gotta get out of here. He then realized that he
was way faster than Cyrus and started to laugh his

(05:47):
way back to the lake.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Haha, this, oh boy, I'll never let that poacher anywhere
close to me. Thanks, Axford, he shouted up to the
sky as Oxford was flying with him back to the lake.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
How in the world are they so fast? They got
such big tummies like me, I guess, but they're quite
a bit faster than me. I'll get you next time. Hippopotamusa, hippo,
hipp housel you hippo.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Wow, great job, Oxford, you save your friend Henry.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Yeah, isn't that so amazing that hippopotamuses can run that fast.
They are way faster than me and you. We could
never catch one, and I'm glad that Henry was able
to make it back in time to his lake. Ah.
My skin feels so much better because remember, their skin
can dry out really quickly, and it's important for them

(06:51):
to stay hydrated the rest of the day. Who He
was tired from such a crazy adventure. He just wanted
to sleep and a hippo they can snore pretty loudly
when they're sound asleep. And that is the end of

(07:16):
Henry's adventure, the end. Wow, great job, you listened all
the way to the end, all right, who's ready for
some questions? Who remembers how fast a hippo can run?

(07:42):
Is it ten, twenty or thirty miles per hour? Yes,
you're right, thirty miles per hour.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Woo.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
And last question, do you remember how long a hippo
can hold their breath? Is it one minute, five minutes
or ten minutes ten minutes? Yes, you're right. Well, you
have a super duper day. I'll see you later Bye.
