Hi! I'm Jim Jacob, a South Carolina based creator. I started as a podcaster by accident. Our first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. Hello, Critter Protectors, mister Jim here and welcome to Kids
Animal Stories, a place where there's always a mystery and
adventure around every single corner. If you love critters of
all shapes and sizes, I need you on our Critter
Protector team. Join our adventure as we learn about critters

from around the world.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
And in our back yards. Well, my friends, are you
ready for today's adventure? Me too, Let's go. Today's story
is a mystery adventure, which means, my Gritter Protectors, you're
gonna need to listen close, listen to the clues and

(00:47):
see if you can figure out who the mystery critter is. Swiming, swim, swiming.
Rory swam from left to right and left to write. Welcome, Welcome,
Welcome to Grand Central Station, where the wire's clear and

(01:07):
the coral it's just right, Rory called out. One of
Rory's jobs was cleaning the station. She was magnificent at
her job because by cleaning, she also got to see
all the people coming and going to her home. Grand
Central Station sounds a lot like well, a train station,

(01:33):
and when you think about it, there was a lot
of coming and going. I guess just like a real
train station full of people. But this Grand Central Station
is the name of a beautiful coral reef off the
coast of Fiji. It's a beautiful place with beautiful fish

(01:55):
and ocean gritters of all kinds. Today Rory was doing
what she normally does, eating algae and playing an important
role in keeping the coral reef clean. She was so
excited because new members of her school were coming to
join her. She kept looking out as far as she

(02:18):
could into the water to see if she spotted any
yellow or blue swimming clothes. I'm just so excited, Rory said.
I love mating new critters, and I love learning about
all the ways we are the same are different. Rory
was part of a species that didn't mind if slightly

(02:41):
different critters joined their school. That's pretty cool, and Rory
loved the excitement. Soon another member of her school, Milo,
showed up to look for the newcomers as well. Rory, Hey, Rory, Hey, Mila,
do you remember what time we were going to show up.

(03:04):
I'm so excited. I I've already eaten my fair share
of algae for the day. Milo said, Have they any
time after the morning rush? It can't be much longer.
The two friends waited and watched as other fish swam by.
They loved the busyness of their station, and they even

(03:27):
saw some sea turtles and stingrays from time to time.
After a bit more waiting and trying to keep busy
as they watched, both friends spotted finally something blue and
yellow way off in the distance. WILLO, I think that's them,
Rory shouted, Oh, yes, you're right, I see the colors.

(03:51):
It's hard to miss their yellow tails, Milo said, as
he swam out towards the approaching little dots. Newcomers came
closer and closer and closer until they were close enough
to call out to Hello, then welcome to the Grand
Sechel station. Rory called, oh, hi there, whew, what a journey.

(04:17):
I'm Eli. This is James Alan Mary Eli said hi.
The others waved their fins. We are so glad you're
here to join us. You must be tired from such
a long trip, Milo said, oh, yes, it was quite
a ride for sure. We had to use our tails

(04:38):
at least I'd see five times against the predators. Ain'tfully though,
they were no match for our tuc sins. You know,
Should we show you around a bit. We can meet
the others later tonight. Rory said, Well, that sounds perfect,
don't you know? They all said and followed Rory as

(04:59):
he swam on under thru and all around the reef.
By evening, they all had seen a large portion of
the reef and met many many other local friends. Well, Redsam,
Here's home. Rory showed the group a little cozy area

(05:19):
of cauliflower reef. Oh this is beautiful, shouted Ali. We
just love cauliflower reef and this ah definitely feels like home.
Glad to hear it, said Rory. As they all settled down,

(05:39):
Rory looked around to see if the rest of the
family was near. They had all planned to meet at
home and after everyone cleaned their area of the reef.
It was a long day of work and everyone was
excited to meet their new members. Within a few more minutes,
everyone else had arrived home. It was like a party

(06:02):
with all the talking and excitement. Everyone had questions and
things to say. It was all going so well, oh dear,
until suddenly, one by one, the entire family started turning purple. Oh.

(06:23):
Something had definitely happened that had set off this train
of color changing Rory wasn't sure who started it. She
was left with no other choice to do the same
and wait to see what began the color chain. Hold
on a second, Why in the world is a school
of fish changing into purple? It sounds like purple ninjas

(06:46):
have attack, but I don't think that's the case. Why
do you think this school of fish is changing colors?
And what kind of fish are they? I'm not sure.
We're definitely gonna have to come back and see what
happens on the next adventure of Kids Animal Stories. We'll
