Speaker 1 (00:09):
Yell no, no, no, no, alone no. Welcome to the
Naughty but Night Show. I'm your host, Rob Shooter. It's
Thanksgiving today. I have a lot to be thankful for,
especially you guys. Thank you so much for listening to
our show. I think yesterday we made it back into
the top ten, so thank you. Thank you for that.

(00:31):
Normally every Thursday, idea friend Mark Lupo joins us he's
listening today. He's back home with his family in Florida.
So love to your mommy, Darius, and your brother Jonathan.
I don't know Mark's dad's name, but love to him
to Mark, have a brilliant, brilliant day. Talking about brilliant days.
A couple of nights ago, I met up with Captain Bree,

(00:53):
a longtime listener to The Naughty but Nice Show. Even
before this podcast even existed, I was on a radio show.
I was the weekly host. I didn't do it every day,
I did it one day a week. I can't remember
what date was. I think it was Thursday's with Taylor Streger.
And that's where I met so many of you noughty's,

(01:15):
including Captain Brie with her lovely son Miles, and also
her very dashing partner Trey. So we went for drinks
at Bottin as Miss d joined us and we had
a brilliant, brilliant night. So lots and lots and lots
of great stuff to be thankful for today. Let's jump
into as show. We're thankful for a little gossip too.

(01:36):
What time is it? My Friend's and as tea time
big story at the top of the show, there are
attentions within the palace. This time it does not involve Harry. Rather,
it's between King Charles and Prince William. So they are
having trouble. Tensions are mounting amid succession power struggles. Let

(01:59):
me explain the relationship between King Charles the Third and
Prince William has shifted dramatically as conversations surrounding the royal
succession have gained momentum. So insiders claim that the father
son dynamic has been strained due to the monarch's determination

(02:22):
to solid defy his legacy while William prepares to take
over the throne, and so say quotes, the dynamic has shifted.
Charles wants to beat the monarch for decades, but he
is battling cancer. He is seventy six and now the institution.

(02:44):
The machinery of the palace is starting to look towards William.
If you think about it, it's a really cruel system.
It might be the worst way to get a job
in the world. Your paarent has to die, the king,
the queen has to die for you to get that job.
So you've wanted that job. Think about a job you've

(03:05):
won in your whole life. You've worked towards it. You
really really want this job, but you can't get it
on your talent. You can't get promoted because you work
super hard. No, you've gotta wait for the death of
your mom or your dad and then you'll get the job.
So the system, the whole system, it's mixed up, isn't it.
It's the weirdest thing. Even Survivor on television. Isn't this cruel.

(03:27):
It's a really cruel cruel. If this was a game show,
it wouldn't be allowed on TV. We couldn't do this.
It's like squid Game. Remember that show on Netflix where
people had to die for order you for you to
progress to the next level. Well, that's what it's like
being the king or the Queen of England. Charles had
to wait for his mommy, Queen Elizabeth to die. She

(03:47):
had to die for him to get the job, and
now William has to wait for his dad to die.
But this cancer diagnosis has really shaken the palace. William
is only forty two, so he's prepared for his eventual
accession to the throne, and he knows it's going to happen.
It's just when he's reportedly already engaging in discussions about

(04:09):
things he wants to change, transitions and even funeral plans
for his father now. Sources say obviously this topic is
very sensitive, adding that while both men share commitment to
their roles, there is occasionally tension. Plans for William's reign

(04:30):
for a first fast trek following the cancer diagnosis in February.
Royal staff began drawing up succession plans shortly after Charles's
coronation in twenty twenty three to ensure a smooth tradition.
So once again here this is not being cruel. This

(04:51):
has not being mean, or at least I hope it's not.
This is about a smooth transition. We're going to have
a big transition of power here in America in a
few weeks, and behind the scenes lots of planning has
gone into that, and that's the same that happens with
the royal family. There's not as many transitions. Unlike America,
we don't transition power every four years. The Royal family

(05:15):
that are there for life. Some people don't agree with that,
but that's what it is at the moment. And so
we're waiting now for Charles to pass, for William to
be king. Question. Could Charles resign? Yes, but it's never
really happened. I can only think of one instance when
a king resigned, and that was Edward and Wallace. To

(05:38):
remember that story, the American heiress who married the king
and he resigned before his coronation. Well, Charles could step aside,
I think too. Another good example of this is the pope.
I think there's been one or two popes that resigned.
Most of them die, most of them die as pope,
and then they go into conclave that's the fancy term

(05:58):
for the election all the bishops and they decide the
next pope. Well, in the royal family, we don't have
a conclave, we don't have a vote. It is the
next child that used to be the next boy, now
it's the next child who will become king or queen,
and that is William, which brings us to our pole
question of the day. There's tension in the palace between

(06:21):
Charles and William, ad mid succession, power struggles. There's some
struggles there. Charles doesn't want to do any of this.
He's the king. He doesn't want to be looking over
his shoulder. This is my reign. I've waited over seventy
years to get this job. Back off William, let me
be the king. How William's constant presence in the background.

(06:43):
He's a nice guy, William as he's not been too poich,
you hear. It's certainly causing some tension and our pole
question quite simple. Should Charles retire? Should he step down?
Would you retire and give the job to your son?
All the polls say that William is much more popular,
So I think the public would really like King William.

(07:03):
He's super popular. Kate is super popular. She's the most
popular royal of all of them, and their children I
just be loved. So this would be the perfect looking
royal family and often looks image are very important, and
so should Charles retire? Hey? Go vote on our Twitter
page at Naughty nine Rob or our Facebook page, which

(07:23):
is naughdy gossip. Andy. Sure to check back to my
row to hear your results. Okay, moving along, this story's wild.
So Taylor Swift has been ranked number two on Billboard's
Greatest Pop Stars of the twenty first Century, leaving her
fans stand not excited. Number two for Taylor is not
good enough. They wanted her to be number one. Let

(07:45):
me explain them. So. Taylor Swift has been named the
second greatest pop Star of the twenty first century by Billboard,
a ranking that has left her fans had devoted fans
the Swifties both pray and sort of angry and surprised.
While many assumed the global phenomenon would clinch the top spot,

(08:09):
Taylor came in at number two, ahead of Riana number three.
Drake is number four, Lady Gaga is number five, Britney
Spears is number six. Now, the ranking, Billboard points out
is based on cultural impact and defining pop stardom over
the past twenty five years. So in the past twenty

(08:31):
five years, who has been the biggest pop stars? Billboard
journalist Hannah Daily praised Taylor Swift for her ability to
quote bend culture at her will. What she's saying, there
is that Taylor defines the moment. She's not chasing somebody
else's fashion, music, look sensibility. She's creating her own. Other

(08:53):
people on the list Kanye West, just In Bieber, Ariana
Grande or powerhouses, but we don't. Oh yeah, who is
number one? There's lots of speculation. If Taylor Swift is
number two, who is the most important pop star of
the twenty first century. Who's the greatest pop star of
the last twenty five years? Everybody's bet in, including me,

(09:16):
the Beyonce will be the number one? Pick? What do
you think? Who should be number one? Moving along, A
and E is now suing Wendy Williams guardian over a
dispute about the documentary, saying we have the right to
tell her story. So A and E Networks that at
the very controversial documentary Where Is Wendy Williams has filed

(09:39):
a lawsuit against Wendy Williams guardian nurse Sabrina Morrissey, accusing
her of overstepping her authority by attempting to censor their documentary.
The cable channel claims that Sabrina the conservator is blocking
one of the last opportunity unities for the talk show

(10:02):
host to connect with her fans. So the documentary aired
already in February, so I don't quite understand what the
big fuzz is here. It's aired, We've seen it. It aired,
and when it aired, it was a bombshell. It made
me feel really dirty afterwards. I didn't like watching it.
I know Wendy, I'm quite friendly with Wendy. In fact,
the last time I saw Wendy, she didn't recognize me.

(10:22):
She was completely gone. She didn't know who I was.
It was deeply, deeply upsetting. But they are alleging that
Wendy was mentally incapacitated when she signed the agreement. So
her conservator is saying that no, no, no, she shouldn't
have made this documentary because she was incapacitated. Now a
Andy are saying she signed a release. She did sign it,

(10:46):
and they counter that this is a valid talent agreement
and that this happened long before the conservators ship even began,
so they had Wendy signing this release. What happened the
is years ago Wendy May a documentary four A and
E and they I think had a three part deal
and this was the third part. It was the part oward,

(11:07):
So it wasn't like she signed this while she was
really really struggling. This was an old deal and she
wanted to deliver the final episode, the final chapter. In
this so A and E also alleges that the conservator
actions are an attempt to deflect from their own failures
to protect Wendy Williams. Now, I think they've got a

(11:28):
good point there. Who's looking after her? Who allowed this
to happen while she was filming it? And it took
weeks and months to film this documentary. Where was the conservator?
She was taking the money, but she wasn't there. Shouldn't
she have been there? When I was a publicist, it
was the simplest part of the job. Every time my celebrities,
my stars, my clients, did interviews, I turned up this

(11:51):
conservator wasn't there. So now it's rich for them to
try and get this documentary band wherein in fact they
do have a legally bound, in valid agreement. Now people
are saying, maybe she shouldn't have signed it, she was
not in the right state of mind. The network is
standing by its right to tell Wendy Williams's story, insinuating

(12:13):
that the lawsuit from the Conservator infringes on their contractual
and creative rights. A couple of things here. She did
sign it. She's allowed Wendy Williams to do this before
the Conservatur took over. If the Conservator wanted to stop it,
they should have stopped it in the beginning. Don't wait

(12:34):
for something to air and then say, hang on a minute,
we don't like this. And so I think A and
A here leally are probably on some very solid ground. Morally,
I don't know that's more difficult. I'm not sure they
should have aired it. They knew what was going on.
They knew, I know, people who worked on this documentary.
They knew Wendy was struggling. They knew Wendy wasn't making

(12:56):
good decisions. They saw it. They literally documented her melt
and we all saw it. Anyone that watched that documentary
saw her struggle, saw her difficulties, and nobody, not one
person on the production side, on the network side, said
hang on a minute, guys, we got to stop. This
is just not right. It's going to make us a
lot of money, and it's going to get a lot

(13:17):
of viewers and a lot of publicity. But Is it
actually right to do this? It's a big question too
on a lot of reality shows, the Real Housewives going
through a legal process right now, but maybe more concerning
as a moral question. Two, is it right to wind
these people up? Often many of them have mental health struggles,
licker them up and then wind them up and then

(13:40):
film them explode, explode, They literally explode on these shows.
Is that right? I think that's a much bigger question.
This one surprised me. So Universal is responding to allegations
that Ariana Grande made a lot more money than Cynthia
Rivu in the new fabulous movie Wicked. So Universal has

(14:01):
addressed swirling rumors are a massive pay discrepancy between the
Wicked co stars, dismissing claims that are quote completely false.
Now reports suggested that Arianna received fifteen million, one five
for her role as Glinda, while Cynthia a Revo allegedly

(14:21):
was paid just one million for her role of Alphaba.
A Universal spokesperson clarified quote reports of pay disparity between
Cynthia and Arianna are completely false and based on Internet voda.
In fact, the women received equal pay for their work

(14:44):
on Wicked, so I'm told they did get the same amount.
It's a lot less than fifteen million, but it's a
lot more than one million. They got a good fee. Now,
the reason Ariana got the same fee is Ariana might
be a global superstar here, but she's not an actress,
or at least he's not known to be an act
So the studio actually took a bit of a risk
on Ariana Grande. She really wanted this part. She auditioned

(15:05):
for it like five or six times. You don't audition
five or six times and then after you get it
demand a massive salary. I think Arianna would have done this.
I don't want to say for nothing. That's a cliche,
but she would have done this regardless of the pay.
She doesn't need the money. She's got hundreds of millions.
Cynthia needs the money, maybe not. She makes a good
living too. We would love her wages, her salary. But nevertheless,

(15:30):
she doesn't live like Ariana Grande. She does very very well,
but she does not live like Ariana Grande's. They both
got the same amount. Let's be honest here, Hollywood is
a business. Movies are a business. If I don't have
to pay you more, if you really, really really want
this part with Arianna certainly didn't. Then why would I
give you all this money? It just doesn't make any sense.
They both got the same and it was a lot

(15:51):
less than fifteen million. Okay, we're going to take a
quick break and we will be right back. Welcome back
to the Naughty nine. Roush you the hey, let's get
to the polls. Are you ready that the dull? You
sound thevelous? The last show revealed Kate Middleton and Williams

(16:13):
plans to join the royal family this Christmas. They're all
gonna be together at the Sangrington estate. They're not going
up to Bellmarle this year in Scotland. They're going to Sandrington,
which is a beautiful estate about two hours out outside
of of London. A question was pretty simple, would you
like to join them? Would you like to be if
the Royals this Christmas? What do you think? It sounds

(16:33):
pretty fabulous, doesn't it? Would you like to I'd like
to be with them on Thanksgiving, that Christmas, at Easter
a passerver, I'd like to do all of the all
of the above. Let's have a look. Eighty five percent
he said, yes, you would love to be there? I agree,
don't forget to vote on today's poll, go out to
the Patriot Naughty Nights rob or our Facebook patriots is
no only yours in and be sure to check back

(16:54):
to marrow to hear your results. And now it's time
for our nicest of the day. Oh Ariana Grande refused
to sing a hip hop version in Wicked of the
popular song Popular, saying absolutely not so. The Grammy winner
wasn't looking to change the beloved song Popular from Wicked,

(17:16):
despite being pitched a different new version of the tune.
What happened to here is Stephen Schwartz, the brilliant the
film the musical's brilliant composer and lyricist. He said in
an interview that, in the spirit of being open to
new things for the movie, my music team and I thought,
let's refresh the rhythm. Let's maybe, I don't know, hip

(17:36):
hop it up a little bit. So were going to
change the rhythm of this song, make it more contemporary,
make it. They wanted a hit record, They wanted a
record on the radio, and so Arianna Grande certainly knows
how to do that, but she wasn't gonna get it.
They didn't think with Popular as the stage version, but
Arianna said no, she said absolutely not, don't do it.

(17:58):
I want to be Glinda Riana Grande playing Glinda. Hey,
good for you. And the last time I looked, just
a few minutes ago, it is on the charts. It's
number fourteen. And so stick to what is right. Don't
be changing things up. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
And nice is of the day, and I notice the
day naughty. We now know why brother has dumped everybody

(18:23):
on vander Pump Rules and they're starting over after twelve seasons.
So sources reveal the drastic decision was completely creative, not financial.
So they're leaving behind a lot of their stars, Tom
scandalval Adriana, Ash's gone, Katie. They'll all be fired. They're
devastated about it. But insiders told people that the show

(18:45):
had no path forward with the original cast due to
the ongo intentions. They said, quote, everyone is still stuck
in their feelings after the reunion, there was no bending,
no moving forward. It got so nasty. I hate this,
don't you. These shows that started off so much fun,
so much silliness, so much so much joy gets so

(19:06):
dark and nasty. We've seen it on Housewives we saw
it on vander Pump and now these cast members, they're
gonna regret this because we're gonna forget them in six months.
Remember when Stassy Schroeder got fired from vander Pump Brules
because of her racist comments. She at the time thought
she would go on to do bigger, better stuff. She hasn't.
We don't remember her anymore. The same with the housewives.

(19:28):
Once they're not on the show, the moment passes, So
make as much money as you can. Now, if you're
listening a lower, lower low, because we're having a whole
new cast and this is your own fault, you should
have all got together and said, are we gonna cut
off our noses to spite our face? Are we really
gonna be that we can't work together? Or are we
gonna just be that that's stubborn, that angry, that we're

(19:48):
gonna blow a lot of money and our freers over pettiness.
The answer is yes, you did our naughties of the day.
Let's end with a moment of Rob gonna Rob. If
you're chasing your dreams, you're not running fast enough. Run faster.
I say that with love, you can run faster than
you think And your dreams are much closer than you

(20:11):
ever ever thought. Run fast and catch those dreams. Hey,
that is bit for today. Thank you so much for
