Speaker 1 (00:01):
But it's Grizzy moment. There's always something weird going on there.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Well, you're still grounded on school nights.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Oh, come on, whoever smashing mailboxes just hit my families.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
Hi, I'm miss Jean.

Speaker 5 (00:24):
Join me on a trip to Discovery Mountain, where the
air is clear, clear enough to hear your imagination, and
where every day is an exercise in faith. Join me
for today's expedition in Discovery Mountain. This season, Chaplain Jake

(00:50):
and DS are planning a service project to the mountain
town of Cobbler's End, But after stopping for dessert in
the nearby town of Grizzly Mountain, Brianna's become convinced that
a restaurant there stole a recipe from Miss Michelle's cafe.
Now she and her friends think something shady's going on,

(01:11):
and they're determined to dig up the truth. Meanwhile, something
or someone knocked over the mailbox at the Lewis family's home,
and a major snowstorm is headed to town. Let's catch
up with our friends as they meet for pathfinders at
the Harmony Corner Church in episode three of this season's

(01:32):
adventure called Suspicion.

Speaker 6 (01:37):
Ready to decorate some cake, Brianna.

Speaker 7 (01:39):
Oh, I can't wait.

Speaker 8 (01:40):
Good.

Speaker 9 (01:41):
I baked three cakes for us to experiment with tonight,
two chocolates and a vanilla.

Speaker 10 (01:46):
Nice, miss Natasha. Have you ever made chocolate butterscotch toffee cake?

Speaker 6 (01:51):
Oh? No, I don't think so. That sounds delicious, though
Michelle makes one like that.

Speaker 7 (01:57):
I thought we could try baking it tonight.

Speaker 9 (01:59):
Oh sorry, that'd be the baking on her, not the
cake decorating on her. It sounds like a great idea
for the spring class though. Oh okay, Hey tonight, I'm
gonna show everyone how to make frosting roses.

Speaker 6 (02:12):
It's a lot of fun.

Speaker 11 (02:13):
Cool.

Speaker 6 (02:14):
Thanks, sure thing. Where are all the pathfinders?

Speaker 7 (02:17):
Oh uh, here come Harold and Logan.

Speaker 9 (02:19):
Now when everyone gets here to the lobby, come on
down to the church kitchen.

Speaker 7 (02:23):
Okay, okay, Brianna.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Somebody knocked over my family's mailbox.

Speaker 7 (02:30):
Really, what happened?

Speaker 11 (02:32):
We were eating dinner.

Speaker 12 (02:33):
We just finished eating dinner and I heard this loud
bang and we looked outside and the mailbox was totally
knocked over.

Speaker 7 (02:40):
Whoa who do you think did it? Well?

Speaker 1 (02:43):
My dad said, could have just fallen over, so it
was probably an accident. But he also said someone could
have backed.

Speaker 7 (02:48):
Into it, like on purpose.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Maybe it seems suspicious.

Speaker 7 (02:53):
Like someone from Grizzly That's what we were thinking.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
But why would they do that?

Speaker 10 (02:58):
Why do people do anything? They probably thought it was funny. Hey,
do you think it was that guy we saw throwing rocks.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
At the Frosty enn You think he saw through the
window and track down where I lived?

Speaker 7 (03:10):
I mean, it could happen, right.

Speaker 11 (03:13):
What did this guy look like?

Speaker 10 (03:15):
He was like sixteen, high school age, light brownish hair,
sort of ordinary looking.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
What do you mean ordinary looking?

Speaker 10 (03:25):
I don't know, just regular except super mad. Oh, and
he was wearing shorts and a T shirt when it
was cold outside. I mean, any guy that does that
has to have issues.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Didn't you wear a dress to church last week when
it was only like two degrees?

Speaker 10 (03:42):
Yeah, with tights and a coat, not just a T shirt?
Like mister, I'm so angry. My rage keeps me warm.

Speaker 8 (03:49):
Hey, guys, waity for cake deculating.

Speaker 13 (03:51):
We didn't miss it, did we?

Speaker 8 (03:53):
No?

Speaker 7 (03:54):
Everyone's late tonight?

Speaker 10 (03:55):
Hey, Lana Jennet, somebody knocked over Logan's mailbox.

Speaker 7 (04:00):
Whoa Do you think it's one of the cake stealers?

Speaker 11 (04:03):
That's my theory, or it could just be a totll coincidence.

Speaker 7 (04:08):
I don't think we can rule anything out at this point.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Are you gonna try to make that butterscotch cake tonight?

Speaker 10 (04:14):
No, Miss Natasha said, we're just decorating cakes, not making them.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
You mean the cakes are already baked. I knew I
signed up for the right honor.

Speaker 7 (04:22):
You're taking cake decorating logan, You better believe it.

Speaker 11 (04:26):
All the cool kids are taking cake decorating.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
I don't think you'll get to eat them tonight, though.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Why not? We can just take a picture for the honor.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
So you want to have your cake and eat it too?

Speaker 1 (04:38):
I've never understood that expression. What's the point of having
cake if you can't eat it?

Speaker 6 (04:44):
Time for pathfinders to start, everyone. I have everything's set
up in the kitchen.

Speaker 12 (04:53):
Miss Natasha. Are we baking cake or just decorating it?
Because I brought oven mitz.

Speaker 9 (04:58):
Oh that was thoughtful, Harold. But the cakes are ready
to go. Hey, who'd be interested in the baking honor
this spring?

Speaker 7 (05:06):
Oh? I would?

Speaker 6 (05:06):
Yeah, me too.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Sure the more cake the better, oh, I would.

Speaker 9 (05:10):
Hey that sounds like that's settled then, Oh, yes, Jennet.

Speaker 14 (05:14):
Are we still planning on a hike this weekend. There's
supposed to be a blizzard, right.

Speaker 6 (05:20):
Good question.

Speaker 9 (05:21):
We just heard about the major snowstorm being forecast, and
if it hits here, we'll definitely reschedule.

Speaker 11 (05:27):
A major snowstorm.

Speaker 9 (05:29):
Yes, and if it's as bad as they're saying, I
don't think any of us will be doing much of
anything not outside anyways.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Logan, Why do they always say you can't have your
cake and eat it too?

Speaker 9 (05:42):
That is confusing, huh. It just means that you can't
have something both ways. Once you've eaten a cake, it's gone.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
I don't know. The whole point of having cake is
to eat it.

Speaker 9 (05:52):
Logan, You are definitely right about that. Now, come on,
let's get decorating. And that's how you make roses out
of frosting. The star shaped tip makes it super easy
once you get the.

Speaker 6 (06:06):
Hang of it. Who wants to give it a try?

Speaker 11 (06:08):
I'll do it.

Speaker 6 (06:10):
All right, Harold.

Speaker 9 (06:11):
Here you go, start slowly, making small overlapping circles.

Speaker 6 (06:17):
There you go, nice.

Speaker 9 (06:19):
And easy, Harold. That's beautiful. You're unnatural at this.

Speaker 11 (06:25):
Thanks, miss Natasha, look at that.

Speaker 6 (06:28):
Everybody, give Harold a hand.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Go Harold.

Speaker 7 (06:32):
Wow, I'm genuinely impressed.

Speaker 11 (06:34):
It's easy.

Speaker 9 (06:36):
Okay, go ahead and experiment with the techniques I showed
you so far. Then in a few minutes we'll move
on to actually decorating cake.

Speaker 10 (06:43):
Sweet Miss Natasha, did you hear about what happened at
the restaurant in Grizzly Mountain?

Speaker 9 (06:49):
Well, I heard you had some great desserts, but there
was something about a toffee.

Speaker 7 (06:54):
Cake, a chocolate butterscotch toffee cake.

Speaker 10 (06:57):
It was identical to the one at Miss Michelle's, which
just seems like too much of a coincidence to me.

Speaker 6 (07:04):
And you think they stole the recipe.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
They definitely stole it. They're basically the same cake. We
did a taste test.

Speaker 9 (07:11):
There could be a lot of innocent reasons for that,
Like do you know if Miss Michelle sells any of
their cakes to other restaurants that might resell the slices?

Speaker 7 (07:19):
Uh No, but I don't think so.

Speaker 6 (07:22):
I'm just thinking out loud.

Speaker 9 (07:24):
You know, when you already don't like someone, it colors
how you view them.

Speaker 6 (07:27):
I know I've been guilty of that more than once.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
But it's Grizzly Moan. There's always something weird going on there.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
Well, sometimes we see what we expect to see.

Speaker 10 (07:37):
I sure didn't expect to see some guy throwing rocks
in the parking lot.

Speaker 6 (07:41):
WHOA was that scary?

Speaker 10 (07:42):
He was some high schooler yelling at his mom, and
then he stormed off. But it sure didn't prove my
opinion of Grizzly Mountain?

Speaker 6 (07:50):
Is that what you saw Logan?

Speaker 1 (07:51):
With my own two whys? It's kind of hard to
ignore someone yelling outside your window, except I think you
just kick like one rock.

Speaker 8 (08:01):
Hmm.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
Maybe he sounds like someone who could use some prayer.

Speaker 10 (08:06):
Well probably, but from a safe distance perhaps so.

Speaker 9 (08:10):
But everybody needs somebody who believes in them, even if
they're from our rival town.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Well, here's the thing, missed, Natasha. Tonight, somebody knocked over
in the mailbox at my house.

Speaker 11 (08:20):
I heard it happen.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
I think it was someone from Grizzly, probably that guy
we saw Logan.

Speaker 6 (08:26):
Your dad knows about this, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
He said he could have just fallen over by itself,
but I don't think so. I crashed into it with
my bike once and it didn't even move.

Speaker 9 (08:36):
You know, the Book of Proverbs says do not hastily
bring into court.

Speaker 6 (08:40):
Do you guys know what.

Speaker 7 (08:41):
That means hmm, don't rush to judgment.

Speaker 9 (08:45):
Precisely, the full verse says, for what will you do
in the end when your neighbor puts you to shame?

Speaker 7 (08:52):
Oh? Whoa, that's pretty intense.

Speaker 9 (08:56):
Yeah, so i'd encourage you all to not jump to
in any conclusions.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
Oh well, we'll figure out what's really going on.

Speaker 9 (09:03):
Just don't go accusing people of something when you can't
be sure you have all the facts.

Speaker 6 (09:08):
Does that sound fair?

Speaker 7 (09:09):
Yeah, I guess so.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Sure.

Speaker 9 (09:12):
One other thing, if you find you like someone or
you find something about them too, like you start seeing
them differently. Okay, just something to keep in mind. All right,
let's take a look at what you're all coming up with. Attison,
your flowers look so lovely.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
While the Discovery Mountain Pathfinder Club is busy working on
a cake decorating honor over in Grizzly Mountain, sixteen year
old Carson Vermilion is learning a slightly harder lesson.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Oh hey, mom, your home early?

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Oh hey buddy, they let me leave early. The restaurant
will slow tonight.

Speaker 15 (10:00):
Well, I'm home because that's where I chill on a
school night.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Oh does it ever feel good to sit down? I've
been on my feet all day.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
I'm sorry, Mom.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Hey, it's honest work. Speaking of work, how's your homework?

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Oh yeah, I'm all caught up.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
English.

Speaker 15 (10:21):
Yep, we had a test today, so no homework tonight.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
US History.

Speaker 15 (10:25):
Yeah, I finished the book report on Frederick Douglas.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
What about pe?

Speaker 15 (10:29):
It's pe wee don't have homework in math. I finished
it while I was eating dinner.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Oh good, chop Carson. You're really turning it around this semester.
I'm proud of you.

Speaker 15 (10:40):
Thanks, Mom. I told you I'm doing fine. No more
d pluses. I promise you don't need to worry about
me when you're at work.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Well, you're still grounded on school nights.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Oh come on.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Hey, I didn't get my high school diploma. My ged
until I was twenty two. You're interested in engineering and
you can do it or whatever if you just focus.
I am mom, speaking of engineering. Your dad reached out
to me. Oh no, yeah, he'd like to see you
this summer. What No, you could visit for a long weekend.

(11:15):
Think about it before you decide.

Speaker 15 (11:16):
I've decided. He's got his own kids now. He doesn't
need me, and I don't need him.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
You could talk about engineering.

Speaker 15 (11:24):
I don't really want to do engineering. I'd probably bomb
at it anyway.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
He'd fly you out.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Woohoo. No thanks.

Speaker 15 (11:33):
If he wanted to be involved in my life, he
wouldn't have runoff and left us. Carson, Then maybe you
wouldn't have to work that dead end job in this
dead in town. A lot of good that diploma did
for you, mom.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Carson, I love you, but I don't want you to
end up like me.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
What you want me to end up like?

Speaker 16 (11:52):
Dad?

Speaker 1 (11:53):
I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
I want you to have a fighting chance.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Well I'm done fighting.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
Good night, Good night, buddy.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
I do not want to see him this summer. Yeah, Rick,
it's Carson. I'm bored. Want to go do something, dude,
I'm dead tired.

Speaker 17 (12:19):
Coach Wien had me running all over that field today.

Speaker 15 (12:22):
Coach Wheton, how can you even play for that jerk?
After everything last year?

Speaker 17 (12:26):
He said I could have another shot. I mean, I
love soccer. It's not like I can just switch schools.

Speaker 15 (12:32):
So how do you get on his good side? Did
you just tell him how awesome you think he is
promised to do better this time?

Speaker 17 (12:38):
Hey, I'm sorry, man, Maybe because I never up and
screamed in his face last year or stormed out in
the middle of the game.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Whatever, dude, I'll see you in class. Nothing is going
right this week.

Speaker 5 (12:54):
Carson and his mom can't seem to talk without arguing.
In fact, it sounds like Carson argues with pretty much everyone. Meanwhile,
Cyrus has been worried about his history class group project.
We'll catch up with him after the break.

Speaker 18 (13:13):

Speaker 9 (14:15):
In just three hundred and twenty three days, the Berlin
Airlift delivered over two million tons of supplies to the
people of West Berlin.

Speaker 19 (14:22):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (14:23):
At one point during the airlift, planes reached West Berlin
an average of every thirty seconds.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
That's fast.

Speaker 9 (14:33):
All right, class, that's it for today. I'll see you
guys tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (14:36):
Oh, Cyrus and Addison, can you guys get by for
a minute.

Speaker 19 (14:39):
Oh sure, mister Tatasha.

Speaker 9 (14:41):
Okay, Cyrus Addison, you're both doing so great this semester.
Now for our group project. Most of the groups are
made up of three students. Yeah yeah, but because this
class can't be even lay divided by three, would you
two mind working together as one group? Oh?

Speaker 11 (14:59):
I go yes, Cyrus, Yeah sure, that's cool.

Speaker 6 (15:03):
Oh, thank you too.

Speaker 9 (15:05):
You're welcome to have another day or two to decide
on your topic if you need it. Did either of
you have something in mind?

Speaker 16 (15:11):
Well?

Speaker 8 (15:12):
I was thinking something about the Cold War, like maybe
the Cuban missile crisis.

Speaker 19 (15:17):
Addison, Yeah, I was thinking maybe the Berlin Wall.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
Ooh.

Speaker 9 (15:20):
Those are two great topics and nobody's claimed either one yet.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
The Berlin Wall sounds intriguing.

Speaker 8 (15:26):
My family visited Germany a couple of years ago.

Speaker 19 (15:28):
Do you want to just go with that one?

Speaker 10 (15:30):
Then?

Speaker 1 (15:30):
Yeah, sounds good.

Speaker 6 (15:32):
Great, I can't wait to see your presentation.

Speaker 19 (15:35):
Thanks, Miss Ta Tasha.

Speaker 6 (15:37):
Sounds like a plan. Happy studying, Addison.

Speaker 11 (15:42):
We better grab some books at the library.

Speaker 19 (15:44):
I'll have else help.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Okay, when should we meet?

Speaker 19 (15:48):
Let's see, I'm super busy this week. Uh, how about
Friday during study hall?

Speaker 11 (15:58):
Sure? If we aren't all snowed in?

Speaker 19 (16:00):
All right? How much snow are they predicting?

Speaker 6 (16:03):
Now?

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Last I heard at least two feet maybe three.

Speaker 19 (16:07):
That's wild. Well, I'll start digging up some fatons. I'll
get you later.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Cia.

Speaker 5 (16:14):
Do you remember MIA's idea to create a podcast about
the chocolate butterscotch toffee cake mystery. She didn't forget either.
Let's join her for that, Mia.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Are we ready to record?

Speaker 8 (16:29):
As soon as Harold hits the button, we're live.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Remember leaning into your microphone?

Speaker 13 (16:33):
Got it?

Speaker 11 (16:34):
Action?

Speaker 8 (16:35):
Hi. I'm Mia and I'm Janet, and we're coming to
you from Discovery Mountain.

Speaker 13 (16:40):
We're on the scene just outside Miss Michelle's cafe, the
delicious heart of our community.

Speaker 8 (16:45):
Welcome to our new investigative podcast Discovery Mountain.

Speaker 14 (16:49):
Is a beautiful place to live in work, But is
there more to it than meets the eye?

Speaker 8 (16:54):
What mysteries lurk beneath its rugged peaks? What secrets hide
in plain sight?

Speaker 13 (17:00):
Is cereal soup is not one of the.

Speaker 8 (17:02):
Mysteries we'll explore in.

Speaker 13 (17:03):
This episode, ah boo.

Speaker 8 (17:06):
We'll look at unexplained to accidents, preschool soccer rivalries, and
one suspiciously delicious slice of chocolate butter Scotch toffee cake.

Speaker 13 (17:14):
Yum.

Speaker 8 (17:15):
Welcome listeners to episode one of Mountain Mysteries. I'm your
host Mia.

Speaker 13 (17:20):
And I'm your ace reporter Jennet.

Speaker 8 (17:22):
And that guy you can't see pushing buttons is the
one and only Harold Peabody.

Speaker 11 (17:27):
Hi everyone.

Speaker 8 (17:28):
As we record, it's a chilly Thursday evening and the
winter sun is sitting behind the mountains Bird. There's talk
of a blizzard heading this way, but for now, the
good people at Discovery Mountain refuse to panic.

Speaker 14 (17:40):
My mom just bought half the bread, milk and eggs
and checkers. I forecast six weeks of French toast up.

Speaker 8 (17:48):
Next, we'll interview cafe owner Michelle Harris, but some of
her incredible desserts.

Speaker 13 (17:53):
Sounds like we're in for a treat.

Speaker 8 (17:56):
Thanks, Harold, I'll have to edit that out, sorry, And
we'll be talking to Logan Lewis, whose mailbox may have
been the victim of a hit and run mysterious indeed. Finally,
we'll talk with Cyrus and get the scoop on the
neighboring town of Grizzly Mountain.

Speaker 13 (18:11):
Does the town deserve its ferocious name? We'll talk about it.

Speaker 8 (18:16):
Are the people of Grizzly Mountain unfriendly or just bad sports?
We'll find out cut good opener, guys.

Speaker 14 (18:24):
Mia, Should we be talking like this when we still
don't have all the facts?

Speaker 13 (18:29):
Remember that thing about not jumping to conclusions.

Speaker 8 (18:33):
It's an investigative podcast. We learn as we go until
finally we get the big picture and the truth is revealed.
We'll edit it all together when we have enough info.

Speaker 14 (18:43):
Okay, I just don't want anyone to get the wrong
ideas or to hurt anyone's feelings.

Speaker 8 (18:49):
Hey, we're just reporting gathering information. It's unbiased. Okay, let's
go inside the cafe.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
Nia, Janet and Harrol are taking a podcast break. We'll
take a quick break too, and we'll join them in
the cafe right after this.

they interview Miss Michelle.

Speaker 7 (21:16):
Well, hello, podcast crew.

Speaker 6 (21:18):
I'm ready for my close.

Speaker 8 (21:19):
Up, Miss Michelle. It's all audio, but you sound beautiful. Why,
thank you, hild Are you ready to record?

Speaker 11 (21:27):
The mic is on and action folks.

Speaker 8 (21:32):
Were behind the scenes at Miss Michelle's cafe. Miss Michelle,
did you always plan to own your own cafe?

Speaker 1 (21:38):
You know?

Speaker 7 (21:38):
I'm actually a chemist by training.

Speaker 22 (21:41):
I never thought I'd own a cafe, not until I
moved to Discovery Mountain.

Speaker 8 (21:45):
That is, the cafe is known for us delicious dishes.
Where did you get all the recipes?

Speaker 22 (21:50):
Well, a lot of the recipes came with the restaurant
family recipes, and I learned so much from Lucy, who
sold me to Harris Family Business.

Speaker 13 (21:58):
Miss Michelle, what are the cafe most popular dishes?

Speaker 22 (22:02):
Hmmm, Well, one of our most popular dishes is good
old fashioned tomato soup. There's just something about our soup
and homemade bread that people just can't get enough of,
especially on chili days like today.

Speaker 13 (22:14):
Do you think that cereal counts as a soup?

Speaker 6 (22:18):
Well, that is a good question.

Speaker 11 (22:21):
Maybe more of a gaspacho.

Speaker 8 (22:23):
Yes, Miss Michelle. People love your cakes. Can you tell
us about where some of them come from?

Speaker 5 (22:29):
Oh?

Speaker 22 (22:30):
I love making cakes, But our most popular dessert is
our brownies.

Speaker 8 (22:34):
I see you know. One of my favorite desserts here
is the chocolate bro Scotch toffee cake. Where did that
recipe come from?

Speaker 22 (22:42):
You know, Brianna was just asking me about that cake
the other day. Lucy told me that while she didn't
invent the cake, she'd created her own distinct recipe. It's
definitely the best version of the cake I've ever had.

Speaker 13 (22:54):
I believe it.

Speaker 8 (22:55):
Uh, Miss Michelle, do you sell any of your cakes
to other restaurants?

Speaker 22 (22:59):
I do a wedding cakes and some cateringe, but no,
not for other restaurants.

Speaker 8 (23:03):
So would you say that your chocolate butter Scotch toffee
cake is in Miss Michelle's cafe exclusive?

Speaker 19 (23:09):
Oh yes, it's one of a kind.

Speaker 8 (23:11):
Thanks so much, and keep up the good work.

Speaker 22 (23:14):
You're welcome, damn cut Do you all want some dessert?

Speaker 1 (23:19):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (23:19):
No, we have another interview lined up outside. Bye, Miss Michelle.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Okay, see you.

Speaker 13 (23:28):
Oh it's getting dark out here. Logan, are you ready
to go?

Speaker 1 (23:32):
Ready when you are?

Speaker 8 (23:34):
Carld record?

Speaker 11 (23:34):
Are you almost ready?

Speaker 8 (23:38):
And action listeners, We're here on the streets of Discovery
mon with one Logan Lewis, who has quite a tale
to tell. Go ahead, Logan, take all the time you need.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
It was an ordinary Monday evening when it happened. What
did it sound like like a tree fell over? I
thought it hit our house?

Speaker 8 (23:57):
And what did it look like?

Speaker 1 (23:59):
Whoa?

Speaker 7 (24:00):
Where is?

Speaker 15 (24:00):
It?

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Looked like I was gonna get in big trouble for
someone knocking the mailbox over from inside the house. But
my dad was chill about it.

Speaker 8 (24:08):
Cool, calm and collected.

Speaker 11 (24:10):
What do you think happened?

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Well, we didn't hear a cargo by it, so I
think someone gave her a mailbox a big old shelf,
maybe several people, because I tested its sturdiness before and
it didn't even wobble.

Speaker 8 (24:22):
Tested it by crashing into it with your bike.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Technically, yes, fascinating.

Speaker 8 (24:28):
I understand there was one other eyewitness.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
Yes, though like me, more of an ear witness. Harold,
what can you tell us?

Speaker 12 (24:38):
I think, as someone from Grizzly, they're probably still mad
about that soccer game.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Or that we're onto their cake.

Speaker 8 (24:43):
Thievery Harold, how would you describe the sound you heard?

Speaker 11 (24:47):
I'd describe it as a thud, maybe even a womp.

Speaker 8 (24:52):
Do you think there's any chance that the mailbox randomly
fell over on its own?

Speaker 11 (24:57):
Maybe? But where's the that?

Speaker 8 (25:01):
Hey, guys, this just in Discovery Mountain. Resident Detective Lanta
is on the scene and on the case. Lana, what's happening?

Speaker 3 (25:10):
It happened again? Whoever' smashing mailbloxes just hit my families?

Speaker 13 (25:15):
Really what happened?

Speaker 1 (25:16):
It was right after sunset, that's when it happened to ours.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
Yeah, I went outside to get my homework from the
call when I saw it, Oh, mailbox was just lying
on the ground.

Speaker 8 (25:25):
But you didn't see or hear anything. No, I just
found it interesting. Is there anything uncommon between Logan's house
and yours that could happen to you both?

Speaker 1 (25:36):
Uh? Our names both start with an L.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
Logan lives maybe a mile from me, so we're pretty close.

Speaker 12 (25:42):
I guess maybe it's someone in the neighborhood, somebody's idea
of a joke.

Speaker 8 (25:47):
Well, folks, the mystery deepens. We will not let up
until we get to the bottom of this. I can
tell you that from Discovery Mountain. I'm Mia, and I'm Janet,
and that's Harold.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
Say Hi, Harold Hi.

Speaker 8 (26:00):
And this is Mountain Mysteries where we'll keep digging to
We've got the answers. Okay, great job, guys, Lena, are
you worried?

Speaker 11 (26:10):
Not really, I'm fine.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
It doesn't seem like the mailbox thing is a coincidence though, right, No,
it doesn't.

Speaker 11 (26:18):
Hey, guys, look what it's snowing.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
Director Doug, do you think Mia and the others are
right to suspect that people from Grizzly Mountain are behind
this sudden mailbox vandalism.

Speaker 16 (26:34):
Well, I think Natasha gave them some good advice. It
is easy to prejudge someone or something they had nothing
to do with and to jump to conclusions.

Speaker 5 (26:44):
Yet over in Grizzly Mountain, Carson is really struggling.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
What's going on with him and his mom too.

Speaker 16 (26:51):
You know, it might be time for Carson to visit
Discovery Mountain. I'm thinking maybe next episode.

Speaker 5 (26:58):
Ah, it sounds like he needs to watch out though
the snow has already started to fall, and it sounds
like a snowstorm is about to hit.

Speaker 16 (27:08):
Well, sometimes the best way to exercise our faith is
to be a good neighbor. I think that's a lesson
our friends in Discovery Mountain or a vote to learn.

Speaker 7 (27:16):
Oh.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
In that verse that Natasha shared, it's a good reminder
of that.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
All right, what was it again?

Speaker 4 (27:23):
Let me find it?

Speaker 5 (27:25):
Oh, here it is. It's Proverbs twenty five, verse eight.
Do not go hastily to court, For what will you
do in the end when your neighbor has put you
to shame.

Speaker 16 (27:37):
Going hastily to court? That seems to be what's going
on here. We'll find out more next time.

Speaker 5 (27:45):
You've been listening to Discovery Mountain, where the air is clear,
clear enough to hear your imagination, and where every day
is an exercise in faith.
