Speaker 1 (00:01):
And money. We all take out. We are the authority
on all things R and B and money. Ladies and gentlemen,
what's going on? I am tanking and this is the

(00:25):
R and B Money Podcast, the authority on all things.
Who you know? You were talking about R and B
in the trenches. What I'm saying when it was only
two R and B artists on the bill and the
rest was rappers. Was in the deep South South Carolina,

(00:52):
Bill too below gains Bill, Florida. We was in the
trenches to get the My little sister, my loved one
around the way. Yeah, you understand what I'm saying. Please
give it up. She's so accomplished, so many things. We'll
get to all that. Yeah, you up appreciate you will remember,

(01:18):
are you kidding? Like people don't remember? Like I was
doing shows, Oh my god, we're rappers, so we would
have to I was singing songs like Ballance and having
to walk out the club with the mic in my
hand because they will start shooting and fighting. Absolutely, That's
that's that's where we came from. They could never survive.
It would be just me and you. I would look

(01:38):
at the field and there would be miracle c murder
and yeah, thank a little more. So wait, wait, so
are y'all the original trap? So I think we are
real shout out to But I'm sure Bryson Tiller never
had to walk out of the club after singing a

(01:59):
ballot It too gunshots listen. I had been almost booed
on some of these all trap shows. What they are like,
who is this nigger with the baby along? You know
what I'm saying. But you were I was crazy and
milk character. Because when you could perform at any arena,

(02:23):
especially the ones that you at least expected to get
around of applause, that's when you know you do well.
Here's the other thing, too, is that you you of
course started there, and when when I was coming along
you you were already had you were already on hit records.
So when I when I when I came in on
those shows with you, that was me trying to get

(02:44):
my records played. But so you were like you were,
you were you were already kind of tried improving before
I got there, because you were going on after You're
gonna after me, right, you know what I'm saying. So
when your songs came on, it was it was up.
But you were. You still had to work your way
into that space, right for sure. But when I saw you,
you was cooking, and I was like, I was like

(03:06):
there on some R and B pol when I saw
you on the bill or when I would see your name,
even to this day, I was like, at least I
know with somebody on here that's can really sing, because
there's that. That's how we got No, it's it's kind
of shape, but that's how that's that's that's what you did.
That's how that's shape, no shade, right, yeah, but that's

(03:31):
how we got our record deals. You know what I'm saying,
even even even down to Jay like it wasn't it
wasn't no fluff like JA could dance. You know what
I'm saying, there's there's that he could dance, right, I
got to you know what I'm saying, I'm dancing in
my first video you were, I was fallout choreography because
we were all, you know, we fell with cameras came out.
We were talking about things that could have stopped. You

(03:53):
could have stopped you know, the progression yea of taking
little mo. Yeah, and he almost stopped his progression with dancing. No,
but the main thing that would have stopped all this
ship No, no, no is if he would have kept
trying to wrap. No, I wasn't trying. First of all,
shout out to michaelid in the build. My brother kame
crossing brother, who knows my rap pedigree? It out, who

(04:16):
knows my rap pedigree? Okay, they were clean wraps. I
was a church kid. What was your name? MC Hurricane? Really? Yeah? Okay,
so the wait where you like you were like bringing
the rain? I was, I was bringing the thunder and
the thunder was this? Was this biblical? Because biblical? You
were a church rap? I would wrap street ish You

(04:36):
know how you watch remember how you watched the box
and all the dirty songs that were changed and had
the radio. What's crazy is I started out rapping too,
because like my first time being on the rod was
with my uncle John P. King. So while I was
in high school, don't I went into some gangses. I

(05:00):
ain't kidding, y'allen, Like when I used to turn them
guns into his shirt. We'll bring to this church, let's
start there. But I used to wrap as well, and
I tried to do gospel rap, but I had that
stree edge because I grew up in church where he
told me one day when I was like fifteen years old,
he was like, I think you should sing because not

(05:24):
there's nothing wrong with your rapping, but I think you
should sing because you'll last longer. He never lied. That's crazy, right,
So like literally twenty nine years later, yeah, that way.
I I stayed rapping, yeah, until until my tenth grade

(05:46):
in high school because I was I was battling everybody
and me too, and I was I was, I was.
I was a battle rapper. So and one in English class.
Our teacher in English class used to always let me
in this other kid battle for like a little credit, right,
and so I would I would kill him, right, I
would just go eddie. And one day he was like,

(06:08):
you know I can beat you. I was like, you
haven't beat me yet, he said, he said, because when
I'm rapping, I'm you know, I'm just I'm being lyrical,
like I'm you know what I'm saying. He's like, when
you're rapping, like you're actually battle rapping, like you're you're
talking about me. I haven't even talked about you yet,
you know what I'm saying. And I was like, I
was like, yeah, I hear you, but let's get to it.
And so having a philosophy, yeah listen. And so we

(06:36):
got to the class and he went first and he
did his rap, and he he rapped so good, but
he was actually rapping about me this time. And remember
you watched eight miles and and what was his name
with Papa Doc who was supposed to go last after Eminem. Yeah,

(06:58):
well he Eminem me massacre. His rap was so crazy
and there was so many uz and os and so
many ohs. I was like, this rapping, this rapping, gonna
do it crazy man, what's this nigger's name? He's not.

(07:21):
He works up. We have to thank you. I don't
know your name. So he reached out to you and
be like you are crushed you in the tip break
he probably is now aside from him crushing tank, crushing
DJ hurricane whatever hurricane he was. Yeah, we would we
would personally like to thank you in the R and

(07:43):
B world for destroying this man's rap career so that
he didn't do that foolishness. Man, I was good. So
he saved the rhyme about you for last. You might
have said he had never he had never rapped about me.
It was all ways about how good he was and
metaphors and all that, you know what I'm saying. But

(08:04):
and I was like, you know, I'm going to more
to all the street in it I'm talking about it's
closed like I'm going. He's like, I've never rapped about you.
I was like, rap about me. So that's why I'm
you know, but that's what getting to songwriting, which you
do very well. I think us being rappers, you know

(08:27):
what I'm saying, and being lyricists is why we were,
why we are able to put these songs together and
put these words together the way we do. Not only
did honestly growing up in the church help you, I
think it helped me. I don't play you play like
a hundred instruments. I can't play just like a little

(08:48):
bit of shower music on the drums and that's about it.
I can just shout music. That's it. That's it. And
I think it helped with like melody and stuff like
you know, don't before you go there, Before you go there,
we like to start at the beginning. We are very
very informative. I could like to start at the beginning
because you already threw out the John P. Keeper which

(09:08):
super Super shout out to in the tenth grade. I
see what today is gonna be the death of m
You didn't tell shoot I was my name was. At
first I was Sassy c Yeah yeah in church, in

(09:31):
church church, and then I would know for city, See
everybody had those names. And then I was young Wisdom.
I went through this whole phase of yeah, young wisdom.
I was like I went through the shade joined brand
new thing that I was like everybody used to be
a five per center. I used to hang with the

(09:56):
no young wisdom and then after that, honestly, John Picky
gave me the name little Mo because my last name
is loving, so he used to call me mony for
some of my reason. Yeah, and then he just stopped
on me. That just stuff. And my friend was just

(10:16):
like my fir Renee because I was. We used to
drive from Fayetteville to Charlotte every Wednesday for rehearsal three
hours there at three hours bait. So I would get
out of school, drive to Charlotte to rehearse. Then my
dad would bring me back on Friday so we could
go on touring the weekend, and then he would pick
me back up on Sunday. So it was just like
it did. Okay, when did you know when did somebody

(10:41):
tell you? When did the first church congregation say that
baby got it? Honestly, where I used to sing songs
in church, I was like four or five, and the
first song I lafed was I think it was about
a Clark sisters. What a difference it makes. So I
was too, I'm gonna be singing those grown songs. But

(11:03):
when I started saying with John, he was the one
that told me you got something because I started rabbits.
That was like in ninety one. Shoot, I was in
tiph grade, ninth tiph grade. That was the first time, Yeah,
you got something special. Yeah, So people always said that
I was, you know, gifted. I had a gift because
I was saying all the adult songs because he lives

(11:24):
all the grown songs as a child director. Yeah, because
it was like when you seven, when you five years old,
when I was in the world, I didn't have a
gut on my side. You five years old, talk about
when I was in the world, when you was outside
the junior choir, sc gave me your song like it's that.

(11:50):
But then when you get up to the young adult quire,
then you can start singing a difference it makes when
y'all walk the So this is like that. So what
happens in gospel is like a portion of the Bible
when Jesus goes from this from one age and he
comes back he was up the world. Yeah, I'm just

(12:15):
trying to listen. Honestly, that that age of thirteen that's
really pivotal, and a lot of people's like this. Honestly,
that's the age of honestly what they call it accountability,
but that's also the age that when you're trying to
find yourself. So that would be the age when I
was just like, Okay, this is what I wanted to do.
I always want to ramp. But I was just like

(12:35):
once my uncle told me at fifteen, sing you'll last longer.
At first, you know, I tried my son does it
to me? He's thirteen, and I'm like, yo, you should sing.
He was like, nobody wants to hear that anymore. So
I'm just like, yes, they did. You really don't understand
that's what touches the heart. I'm not saying that rap doesn't,
but it's just something about a melody. It's just something

(12:56):
about tone. It's just something about that type of connection
that just hit different. So it's just like, yeah, something,
but now they don't really talk about love. They talk
about love, but it's in such a different way. So honestly,
that's crazy. I've never wrote a hate song in my life.

(13:16):
Mm hmm. No, none, toxic. I remade a toxic song,
remade Shirley Murdock husband, and that was like toxic. But
it was State Church that was the first. Yeah, everything
was exciting and I had things in my life. Yeah, okay,
So you want to rote with John Kid? How long?

(13:38):
How long were you out with father John? For like
two years? And then after that once I'm I started
out with low Kid? Was there? Was there? So I say?
And I was next to name? Okay, so it was
a musician. Cool played the drums, Eric Bryce Shu's play guitar,

(14:00):
and it was another John used to play the bass
like I was there. Yeah, right after I was there
for show Up. So I came there with show Up. Yes,
you used to be the kid waiting on y'all in
in d C. When he would do the V I P. Conventions,
I'd be the kid waiting and I don't play basketball
with him? Yes, a ya he used to be so lit.

(14:24):
The best part, and this is what I learned so
much from my uncle is just like now I understand
the for our gospel artist. Everybody on stage were just like,
the music is jammen. But when he would come out
and slide on stage and the keyboar will be ready,
the people would go because he was like he was like,
because he did the R and B, did a stinton,

(14:47):
cameo hello, right, yes, came right, so absolutely yeah. So
his approach to gospel music was totally was a completely
different pot it like it was like it was it
was something we had never seen before. The structure of it,
how solid it was like yo'all could do something like

(15:08):
this and everybody knew where to go. Or he'd make
a noise and everybody's yeah, it wasn't it was. We
was like, so we're watching the band on this side.
You had a band corner, when the band when where
the band set up. There were eighty musicians from that
single sitting on the side like this, and then you
got the congregation watching the whole thing. You got the
singers all through the day. But it was ill. The

(15:31):
music was the phrases, but put together music rehearsals. Yeah,
I did the V I was. I was part of
the v I p Chuire Wednesday rehearsals that I used
to go to. People like it was almost like a concert.
He would come and have like a little bit of
Bible study and literally from like six pm two two
in the morning now would have school the next day.

(15:53):
He would write songs right there. He was like, all right, y'all,
gotta learn this right now. I was I'm gonna give
it to you know what, saying, awesome, gonna get this
so on up. He would literally write song on the spot.
And that's I learned so much from him and he
because he played, he would like make you go to
and they would go. It was like how did they know?
But he had that. He was the first person I
saw sing and not miss and I didn't. I don't

(16:18):
know how we can talk about We don't talk about
that enough. We don't. We don't. That's a gift in
itself he did. Even if you're not obviously John p
Kids is amazing. But even if you're just a good
singer and you don't miss, that's that's still something very
special to prepare yourself to to honor your gift because

(16:39):
everybody don't honor their gift. We do a lot of
things that go against what you're supposed to be doing
to take I might have been on the other side
of you know, I might have been on the no.

(17:05):
But that's but that's something that that that should be
spotlight when someone doesn't miss those type of artist's every night. Yes,
you would never know if he was sick, if he
was tired, if he was like you would never know
because any time he hit that stage, he would give

(17:28):
it his all. And you know, like now they say, well,
what time I go on from nine to nine thirty,
he'll get up there, and especially especially when he does
what I used to love too, and I learned a
lot of that too, is like then I try to
think people come to his consoles just to see if

(17:48):
he was gonna get him money. He would literally from
his heart be like he would look at somebody like
come in for a second, because like, what's your rent? Sheila?
Uh we we recipes to her, Jeanette, you're renting what
he pay So when I when I when I may
pay for that. I got that from John pick Wow.
I took that from him. That's that's who I learned

(18:10):
how to tip from and that's how you forever we
used to go to eye and eat after the concerts. Yes,
I will watch him give hundreds of dollars too, And
I mean it would be a bunch of us. Think
if a thousand dollars didn't matter to whoever was waiting
on us? Are you giving him so much money? He

(18:31):
don't like this bad who just always take care of people,
to take care of you always? Always first person? Ever
seen that? So I learned that from him at the
concerts giving away money. I want to bless you. You
look like you need a blessing. How much is this?
How much does that give her? That she get her that?
That's that's why I learned it from. Yeah, he's gonna
love this. I can't wait to tell him. Be like,

(18:53):
you don't realize how much? Even on down to when
I started working with Missy, she was like, wait, John,
like do you like people just did it again? But
I just you just threw out another gone to Missy

(19:18):
that way like I was looking back, Okay, none of them.
Don't you stop? You stopped this? Okay, we need information.
She's so used to leave you you How do you
go from John p Key to Missy, how does that happen?

(19:39):
What's the interview before? Before Missy? I actually toured with
Guru rest in peace to him. I did jazz matazz
because I think at that time in Dia Dad report
she couldn't go. So I was singing her part. How
did you get that? I? Um, well, my cousin. She
was married to Gary, who is DJ Premiers half brother.

(19:59):
He I was living in North Carolina. Like when I say,
God whatever, he typed down the rope down for me
before I got here. He was in his bad and
I never understood it till now because I never had
the audition. People just took their word for it. So
they took me to Guru's house. He used to live
like right and like Elmhurst, right between Queens and Long Island.

(20:21):
So my aunt lived in Queens. So I was like,
if I get this gig, then I can stay with
my aunt. And I wind up going singing his eyes
on the Sparrow and Gurgle's living room. He was like, so, yeah,
they're gonna call you tomorrow and we're gonna get you.
Do you have a passport? I was like no, but
my dad drove me up there from North Carolina. He's
always been my driver, not the fire in one time.

(20:42):
We'll talk about that later. But like I just always
I never had the really audition. All I had to
do was show up and I always got the job. Okay,
you did the whole United States and the whole and
then the overseas. So mind you, I'm just getting out
of high school and you getting paid, Yes, you get

(21:03):
real money to do this. And I was just like,
so I'm thinking, I'm just going for the experience. And
I was like, well, this is how much you're gonna
get paid this, And I was like, and tours that
are already established, so it wasn't like care of Yeah,
Like I'm like, for damn, this is more than I

(21:23):
get job, working a job or anything. Before you caught
this kid, I never had a job like. I've never
felt out an application in my life. I wanted to
feel out one because I was living on four break
and I wanted to work at Wendy's. But then I
was like, I'm not gonna be able to do that
because I used to breed everybody here. And one time, really, yeah,

(21:44):
I thought I was gonna get a job. How old
would you like a teenager because they made everybody else.
I was like sixteen seventeen. I was just like, you
know what, I like clothes. Listen, I'm tired of selling.
I say, I wasn't avoiding dope. I've seen something earlier

(22:11):
when they said just do it online said, I've ever
stopped taking crump with up money because he opened it
up and half of it was a dollar, half of
it was a twenty drug. Trust me. My stent with

(22:33):
jobs were I had. I wanted to get some clothes
during Christmas time, so I went and worked at the
oak Tree for like two months before he wrapped about
the tree he did ever have? He wrapped it. Yeah,
I was working at Utrey. When you get the whole
suit for ninety nine plus your shirt and time, that
was how pack That was me? And then I put

(22:56):
it with a Vsati tie and some kind of cold shoes,
dressed that up, dressed that things so anyway. And then
my second stint at a job, I'm so I'm so
mad that Mike Lidy let you wear that high school listen.
And then from Oaktree I went to uh I had.

(23:19):
I had a job at a parcel plus where we
used to make coves and deliver the mail and all
that stuff, right, and so I sent off I sent
off the first and one mixed blueprints. It is mixed.
It was I remember all the plans for the for

(23:41):
the shoes, I mean, the shirts and all of that
stuff I sent. I sent those off to to whoever
they ended up doing the deal with to get out.
I sent those off. That's like my claim to fame
my ship though. And he guy was from Maryland. So
I did that, and then I did that for like
about three months. And you know why I got fired?
Oh you know why I got fired? Let me think

(24:02):
what could I can't even think like why, I'm gonna
tell you why I got fired? Yeah, Pastor John p Key,
what happened you, hug out? I stayed out all night
with the church with John v Key playing basketball and
eating that I hoped, and I woke up late because
I was supposed to open the store. It was like

(24:24):
my third or fourth time being so listen. So what
this comes out to is John p Key was the
reason for both of y'all. R and B music got
you fired And told Sassy see over here, this ain't
gonna work, Sassy, see little wisdom whatever, shut out whatever

(24:51):
you want. I don't know what look here? Uh you
need to sing? Yeah? Last key was you know he'll
you back to everything? So checks um seeing the world? Yeah,
seeing the world. How do you get to missy so Um?
I remember coming back. I had started hair school because

(25:13):
the tour was over, and I was like, let me
just go do here because I didn't know if the
music thing was gonna work out or not. And I
was still too young to get him. Do you remember
Neils in New York? That was like everybody used to
go uh and saying it was like an open mic.
That's why I used to go. So I was sneaking
because I wasn't twenty one, but I was sneaking. I

(25:35):
would see like call Thomas. They was like Maria Curry
gonna be Kelly Price and Maria Curry because I was like, wait,
who named my name? So I was like they were
like these persons deep people are gonna be there and
what was what's his name? Ron Grant used to have

(25:57):
an open mic t and I remember I was like,
one night, I want to sing at these and I
went and I signed up and they didn't ask me
for I d because the people I would go it
was always grown. I always always thought I was grown,
for like I always honed with grown people. And I said,
but I but I sang uh Lauren hillsong Um, killing

(26:20):
me softly, and I killed it. And then after that
people like, yo, you should do something. I was like, dag,
my uncle was right, but I was. This was after
I came off tour, so I was doing R and
B and if I used to feel so convicted, like,
oh my god, I'm hell here, I'm singing this secular music.
I'm a burn with the devil. I always thought I
was gonna burn with the devil. That's what kept me
from it. But then I realized I was like, wait,

(26:41):
people still love me, so I'm gonna do this. So
I had started working with like producers and stuff, writing
songs and referencing songs, and for some of my reasons,
some of my references got to Missy and I was
in the mall and Green Neck is mall, getting just
finished getting my nails, and that's when we had beepers.
So I had moved to New York. I was living

(27:02):
in Queens, so going down there in school and just
like going to open mics and just trying to make
a name for myself and Merlin Bob had yeah, well
ron ron was his um his uh his, he had
two assistance that So I remember getting a beeping whenever

(27:22):
said two on two. That meant money, child, that mean money.
So I called her back and he was like, Maryland,
want to speak to you, and I was like for real,
and so he was like, yeah, Missy um Elliot wants
you to call I'm like out of here, Missy don't
want me to call her like this, like I'm at
the mall. Want you to call her? And I was like,
no freaking way. Hold on the second, I remember putting

(27:45):
the pay phone down because that's when the drug deals
had all the bag phones and them phone bills us
to be high. So I found a piece of paper
and the pencil and I said, what's her number? And
I had I remember having a phone like this, write
her number down. I called her right then and there,
and she must have been in probably a Lamborghinia song,
and she was like hold on, hold on. She had
a car phone. I was like, hey, what's up this

(28:05):
little moe. I try to sound like like like I
was talking, what is this a certain voice? It's like Yo,
what's up. I remember. I was like, yeah, what's up
this little moment Merlin Bob told me to call you.
She was like, hold on, hold on, hold on. Malik
turned down the music because that's when remember Malik that
used to dance with her by her So he was like,

(28:27):
she's like turning out the song perfect because it was
so so prathetic. But now I get it, Like that's
really how it feel like. It feel like a movie.
But it was just like she was like, Yo, your
voice is dope, Like, Yo, can you come to the

(28:48):
city today. I was like, let me check my palm pilot. Yep,
I'll be there. And I remember going to the city
and when I met her and we were the same height.
He's like, I didn't even have to talk talk and
then the rest was literally history. Like from there, I

(29:09):
sang Whitney Houston saving All My Love for You, and
she she didn't tell me Whitney was coming to the
studio that day. What yeah, not that same day. It
was like months after. So I would reference Mry would
write this song. She was like, reference something, you know
what I'm saying. So I would be I was like,
do you want me to sing all over she was like,

(29:30):
do your thing, because that's gonna make you know people.
So I remember sitting in the studio and then all
of a sudden, like Whitney Houston walks and I'm like Jesus,
like no, no, like this is not happening it. So
I just remember just like Whitney coming up to me

(29:50):
because the song she wrote, Yes m Mr. It was
called yes, and I referenced it. Whitney like hugged me.
It was just like, you know, ahmost like she was
so hyped up. Then she made me go in the
booth for her and vocal produce it. I was like,
how do you tell the greatest freaking voice of the
world that had all the church girls want to sing
secular music with some annointing. I'm standing in the booth

(30:12):
when we can use My throat is so dry because
I'm nervous. She gave me a fisherman's friend, a fisherman's friends. Yeah,
how you ready at least in your mind your mind, yeah,
not knowing that there was really ain't for sables. But

(30:34):
it was like that's I meant with like everybody everybody?
Is that how you ended up getting your record deal?
Or so? Yeah, how long are you with Missy? I
was with like, literally, point, you're doing You're you're doing
working session work, session work, just so for the people
who don't know, this is the process for you. So

(30:54):
you go on to her first with Guru, do you
link up with Missy when Missy is an amazing producer,
songwriter outside of big an artist, but her vision so
with so with Missy, now you in a sense on staff, Yeah,
you're doing her demos for Yeah, but she sing too,

(31:15):
of course, like no, she sings to like but a
lot of people wanted to harmonies because she comes from
that Joe to see. So we were stacking now you
could do ye comes from the basement, So we were
sa we were stacking vocals. That's where we came from,

(31:36):
the stacking vocals days. So she taught me so much
because I didn't know studio work. I was. So that's
when I learned that, you know, outside singing live and
studio is totally different. I hate being the studio. I
feel closeterrophobic. I feel like my ideas don't come like
don't come to life. So I was glad that I
had her skeleton there and then I could take it
to next level because Hot Boys was just her and

(31:57):
then I sang with it. So now she let me
ring that church ad lives, which people you ain't gotta
do all that. Let me get busy where how long?
How long? Were like? Okay? So I had my deal,
I was signed to a lecture. But it was just

(32:19):
like I was working with Missy. I was just like,
I don't need I want, Yeah, I don't even really
wanna did nothing. And all the songs that I was picking,
and you know, all the songs that they were picking,
that's what I did to that. I was working with
Montell Jordan and them, so they would pick a songs.
I was like, I don't think them like, these songs
are great, but I don't think it's gonna translate too.

(32:39):
I had tattoos, gold teeth at the time, braids, so
I looked like a rapper, but I sang like a
church girl, so you feel me. I was trying to
blend those both worlds. So just like Missy taught me,
just like, just don't settle for nothing. Be who you are.
And that's how I about the gate. She was like,

(33:01):
these niggas got money charge him. Yeah, so to get
me to show up to vocal radets. That's a word,
the charge him, charge him sore nigga mm hmm. And

(33:23):
so that like I learned the game earlier. It's totally
a blessing because I didn't have to go through with
a manager that so me and more like I'm cool
with everybody, but I always got to deal directly with
the source. And so really that taught me everything I know.
So first hit record, um, they was coming back to back.

(33:49):
It's not super Woman, oh by myself here, but like
I was doing like hot boars hoos, didn't put it
on me and then I cried, like but I recorded,
I cried before I didn't put it on me. Child.
It was like so much stuff is going back to
back to back, So those records would be four super Yes.

(34:11):
Why did I not know? That's why people like I
love you from the nineties, I said, I don't know
why you love it for the nine becase a bit
wasn't out. I was all other people records in the nineties.
But would you did your first come out? I got
I think, oh one, your first single came out. Superwoman
came out two one, okay, so we are yeah, yeah,
or like two thousand two thousand one, because you know

(34:34):
what me was out in like ninety n like we
just celebrated like annivers I'm like, yeah, this sounds older
than MATUREY really are because I solo, our solo careers
mirror then, but you was already active. But you want
to know, I was singing backgrounds. I didn't have no
music out, none at all, but that's what I was
doing too, had records on. You had like but c is,

(34:57):
I still didn't think I'm mattered, So it didn't count
to me telling you out watching watching all the videos
that he was cracking you. I appreciate that because like
to me, it was just like dad, I still got
more work to do. But like tour with Missy, that's

(35:17):
when I got to tour with literally everybody every day
being with Aaliyah like that, those kind of things, I'm
just like, nobody will ever have that opportunity. Those were
We're doing jay Leno and then going doing tour like
she Missy stayed on tour for years, so it just
used to be so dope just to see her in

(35:37):
her element and she's so shot. So once she's done performance,
she leaving, I'm just like dag like I really get
to live the life. I really got to live the life.
So you were kind of like Charlie Murphy, Eddie Murphy,
like Eddie Murphy, every Murphy went home and she had
to leave what you need? Yeah, basketball, ye know for

(36:00):
real outside. Yeah, like that was a blessing. I'm a superwoman.
I always noticed that it says super woman too. Yeah,
we're Superwoman one. So super Woman? How did that go? Yeah? Well? Sup?

(36:21):
The no people have been asking me that because recently
it's been added to streaming site, so nobody knew for
years that there was a part one only yeah, because
they just thought that They thought it was Cura White.
So it was just like, so, why wouldn't have leave
the part two? Part one? Part one? Part one was

(36:42):
brand conson. That's when he was walking. Yeah. Yeah, and
they told us the song was too cocky. It was
two because I was like, you ain't got to look
Jermaine was the one who I was like, yo, you
like you kill it. I was like, you ain't got
to look up in the sky for a bird or
a plane. You're looking for a change, and I'm saving
your Head's got the s on my chest. Summer soup boom,

(37:04):
you ain't gotta look up in the sky for heard.
But it was like, remember that Beantie single beat Stopped,
Don't Chill? We used that for beat. Cox put keys
on it, so it was like it was too cocky,

(37:27):
So that was called super Wan. We thought it was
gonna be a problem with Carol White Superwoman because then
the titles and then registering it. So I was like,
all I bet I was in l A. There was
remember when DreamWorks had the labels. There was an artist
named Canela Cox and I was boke o producing on
her songs and she was done. She had two hours
left on her session and I was like me and

(37:47):
my manager at the time, Loria, I was like, we
might as well used this time. Clue had left a
beat and he was like, if you get this song, Clue, yeah,
DJ Clue di super Woman part one. So there was
wasn't part too excuse me, there wasn't even no keys
on it. It was just so what I did was
I smoked me some weed and I never heard nobody body. Um.

(38:17):
I smoked some weet and I went in there and
I say Superwoman down because I was so used to
Missy teach me do your vocals different ways each chorus.
So when I found out we could fly vo because
I was like, fly because we don't have much time
left and we have to get it out of still
somebody's session. Yeah okay, So and I didn't want to
label to find out, so Traino was I think her biggs.

(38:54):
He was like, Yo, they got some money over here.
We used to give like them check Out checks d
and and Cherry Ross checks always hit different. Let me
tell you. Jason Joshua, the amazing mixed master guy, the

(39:14):
mix sologists, Yeah, was at one point and DreamWorks really
had to see song structure too. While he was, Yo,
what do you mean the hook? So you know what? Yeah,
how do you have this job? I think at that
time they PARBT was just hiring black people. So like,
well that listen, I believe that. I believe that people

(39:40):
putting people in position. Yeah I love you brother, absolutely. Okay,
So you so you still her session? You do Superwoman too?
So because this was the other thing that, like you
said that that first that first sound that kicks in,
they were multiple songs for you that in my mind,

(40:01):
I was like, they sounds like get old video games.
It sounds to me like if if a nigga said
this is how super Mario sounds, but then you would
come on seeing church. So just imagine, imagine there was
no keys, no strings, no baseline. It's just so I

(40:24):
literally no drums. It was just that was it. That
was it. So I sang it all the way down.
When it got to the bridge, I had to You
could probably hear it, like if you go back you
can hear. I had to do. I said, drop the
music out right here, and so I said every day
I love you in us fair show a chicken. So

(40:48):
I literally save off my snap and now I don't
know play when I second like that, and then added
the backgrounds. So when they finally got in with the
with the additional keys and program at people, they played
around it. So it's really he goes a little secret,
it's really not on. I always sing off time and
but be on time. You get it, so it's likely,

(41:13):
but it's always always. It's just so I was like
the person. I was just like, I know I sing
off b but it's like it's a bob. You told me,
and I'm gonna tell you. Gave me a copy one
day and I think I probably went back in the
big and cry because I was like, damn, Like when
you notice people that really sing and really do this.

(41:33):
We was at d night show in Atlanta. You was like, Sis,
You've been one of the only people that can sing
with tempo and I was just like, I never thought
anybody noticed. He was like and stick like you feel
me sing though you was like sing with not like
dance around and you know what I'm saying and dumb

(41:56):
it down. You've actually been able to actually sing a
real vocal. That's a blessing. And so to hear someone
noticed that, be like, Yo, how do he know? Because
people don't be knowing because I wanted someone too so
bad but I couldn't. I couldn't figure out the science
on it. But you know crazy, It's like then I'll
listen to your song and I'm like, like, how do

(42:17):
you know? And I was like, God, I thank you
for the gifts you have given me without repentance, and
the talents that you have given me. But I wish
I could play because if I could play, I was like,
I killed all of these bitches that girl I know,
God say like crazy and before I arrest it. But

(42:39):
it was just like I used to always feel like
if I could play then then they will really be
able to get it. But then I realized my voice
is my instrument, and if they get it, they get it.
If they don't, they'll get it later. And now a
lot of people and you and you like you have
songs that I mean, you know this when they come
on this is yeah, they lose their mind, like the

(43:03):
we do R and B Club when we went headliner
and Mike Gardening them in in Miami. Your songs are
played there semi videos and I'd be like, yo, this
is like, how do they still? But then you know
what what my angels says, not what you say or
what you do, is how you make people feel. And
I always realized a lot of these people were in

(43:24):
elementary school and junior high running home to watch one
O six in part they remember that, and so now
that they're growing, were like, you all remember running home
and ask my moment, can I get them color hairs?
And they don't know what I used to have to
go through to be able to get the blue hair,
to be able to wear those colors. Yeah, we don't
want you to scare the consumer, because you know, it's
like another meeting remember the meetings, and he used to

(43:53):
to tell them like, y'all don't get it, and they
will be like, who then do you think he is?
Because you're Christmas brother? That wow? But okay, now we
see what they got now, the same tattoos all in
their mouth. I just have to hide my tattoos. I
just have to hide my tattoos. Still. I was just like, nah,

(44:15):
you know what you work for me when I saw you,
and what I still feel when I hear your music. Now,
there was a time in music when it was very shiny, right.
It was. It was the puff dad here. Everybody knew
about it. It was the shiny suits. And then d
m X came MHM and he made music very aggressive
and very soulful. People didn't people don't got rested soul.

(44:39):
People don't mention how soul for d m X is
music was. You felt it in yourself to this day
and to this day, they can play a hunted R
and B songs and then one of yours comes on
and it's dark and hell is hot. Niggas is getting
to it when a little mo record plays, Because you

(45:02):
bring a different type of grit and grind to R
and B music. That just didn't it didn't exist from
a female's perspective. It's so aggressive when it comes on.
It's like we went when we were just in Miami.
We were all in Miami together having a good time. Man,

(45:22):
I had so much fun. I is, y'all don't understand
how much fun I had so looking big. My sister
was like, bet you was. I said, I came from
a very dark place. So the pandemic was a blessing
for me, so to be able to get out and
to enjoy and to let my hand down so I

(45:44):
can sing on stage and will be when I get
to be like, say, because I've seen you on stage
and I'm like saying, but when I get to be
like I need to be a fan fan so family,
But I'm a question because you got a yeah, and
when and when that record dropped, when they dropped your

(46:06):
record at the end, it's just like it was like yo, mom,
Like people say to me, They was like, mo, you
was fool and it was like, yo, you seem like
you loved I said, I did you had a ball?
You have the same question like nine times? Yeah, And
I still want to ask you that question today. She asked,
don't you gotta ask him, Yeah, I done with you,

(46:37):
but yes, you know, speaking of your music and your
past and the things that you had to go through
in this industry that looked at female R and B
in a certain light, it was very light seeing it's
very soft. It was you know what I mean, that's
just let's just be real. It was it wasn't those tattoos.
If you had tattoos, you was putting some clothes over

(46:58):
those tattoos. There were things that that in this business
from a female R and B perspective, just weren't accepted.
It was just like, that just doesn't work for the consumer,
when in reality, these motherfucker's didn't even really know the consumer.
They were so far removed from who outside was and is.

(47:20):
They were not outside. And you want to know what's
crazy is once I got outside and I learned from myself,
I found out I was just like, why am I
big in the bay earlier? Why are we talking about
come out with these girls? Was like, yo, one of
my big in the trenches is because I look like
they can look like me. Yeah, I'm from the band.
You want to know what crazy is? When I go

(47:41):
out there, the love I wouldn't already know because I
was like around when the East Coast and West Coast,
like I was around that time, So it was just
like if you came out here, do your work, get
your home, you fear me. So then you went out
different summer jams or something like it to this day.

(48:03):
To this day, I was out there a couple of
weeks ago. They had um I forgot what they call it,
but it was Bobby D Presents, Me, Ashanti, Nellie Yang
Yang Twins, little john A, Marie. Everybody was there and
so I'm thinking, who show up to just think that
they were sold out? And I looked in the crowd

(48:26):
and what they told us was the consumer. The majority
of people didn't even look like me. It was all Latina's,
It was all people, and they were by being yeah.
So because we did Oakland and on Aryan and I
was just like now, twenty years ago, they told me
I wouldn't connect with the consumer. You don't want to

(48:47):
scare them away. So what they further lets me know
is that they thought I wouldn't connect with the crossover.
The records crossed over. Then we broke records. Then we
broke so many records. Well put it on me that
they had to retire, and they swore that they were paid,
and yo, it was a whole thing. I was like, wait,
who paying for to people called up there. I was like, yo,
I can't even. There was the time remember when you

(49:08):
can't even They said that they were paying people. Def
gotta be paying to have that play that. They was
like no. People was like no, I really called up
there and they had us come out there and retire
the record because there was like, there's no way y'all
can always be number one? For like I used always wondered,
I was like, well, what is so big about it?

(49:29):
Because to be honest, I went there in freestyund everything
and none of it rhymed. What was so big about it?
On me? Where would I be without you? Baby? So
if you need me, if you want me to put
it on you because I love you, don't you forget
it Whenever you need me. If you own me to

(49:52):
put it on you, come on? Where doing rot? That's
you know? So they'd be like, maybe like you only
can sing a minute of a song because people lose
their interest. We can sing that whole song up until
the come on? Don't you know that? I love you,
I need you, I want you. I want you to

(50:12):
put it to the end to the song when you
hit the record go off, that's a blessing. None of
it would I be if it won't for your baby,
because I'm so tired of me long. If it won't,

(50:34):
none of it rhymes. If it won't to you, that's
that church. And will won't he will? That was the
most incorrect English. Or maybe you know what it mean.
Won't he win? That mean didn't he? Did? He? Ever? Know? What?

(50:58):
Did he did? Did he not do it? We understood?
So that comes out before Superwoman. So does that speed
up the process at a lecture at the time to say, hey,
we're going with a little more right now, because we
all know how that ship goes to sign and it's like,

(51:20):
oh yeah, and they're doing whatever they're doing, but we're
not really paying that much attention. It didn't speed up anything.
I had to send that record back to clue they
wind up literally rushed putting it together. Duro was his partner,
so the fact that he was an engineer mixing right
there in there clues to have a thing called Monday

(51:40):
Night Mixtape in New York and Hot ninety seven back
then he played it on his show. He made the
label catch up. He was like, he said, I promise
you so it's fab on there at the time. Yes,
because fab as a new artist. Yes, so while we're
in the studio and once I send it a clue
because that beat was initially for m O P. Let's
let's let's start there and would have been talking about

(52:02):
kidnappings all off Goldeth everywhere. But they was like, who
you wanna get on it? Because that would be dope
if you have a rapper. So by that time I
had already worked at everybody you want to get young,
get one getting him? You want on it? I was like, yo,
the boy, I'll be spelling his name or everything spins. Yeah,

(52:23):
he came. They look called Fabulous Sports, so he's look
on spis so he comes to the studio him. That's
when he was with Webb and Chail and I remember
like they came with yellow bandannas on and chicken boxes
and he had the next Heil pager like this. So
I was like, all right, I'm gonna let you do
your thing. Do you need anything? He was like no,
I'm good. Just he said, well I add so I

(52:45):
leave out and I come back. I was like, you done?
Oh lord, I hope this thing sounds dope. Is the
Monday night mixtapes he'd be doing, yo, he was like,
So he said, just let me just let you know.
I did a little something on the intro just in
case you could keep whatever, and then I added something
on the end. So soon as he was like, I
guess I ain't got no reason to main go around
what he said. I found a superwoman that could leap

(53:05):
from the truck. I said, we out of here, and
I heard his yeah, we are at it by that time,
because you know music at this point, are you new?
You know hits? At this point you're around Missy, you
can I was like, that's it, that's it. So remember

(53:27):
back then, if you put out a record, the label
can cease and desisted and stop it. But it was
getting so much Bird, I've been cease and desisted. I
have to have you. No. I kind of cease them
on Shots Fired. Yeah, yeah, yeah, own label because because

(53:48):
they were trying to get it. Yeah, and they were like,
your records going to interfere And I was like, what
do you mean, and now you can put out Yeah,
we should have we should have stayed with it. But
you know what what's crazy is is that everything that
we wasn't allowed to do then doing that, And I'm
like everything I'm not supposed to do. Yeah, Like I've

(54:16):
literally I can't feel a hit record I've been around
because I've been around everybody from the Missies, the Tams,
j jay Z's, the A And I was like, I
knew everybody, so I knew what a hit record felt like.
Damn the Sun because you look for you to pop
up on a record like Parking Lot. Yeah, and they
gotta really, they got to really getting his bag to

(54:37):
understand that little Mo was on Parking Lot then. And
then Jay call you like yo, because I used to
think I was his cousin come to the studio. I
used think I was everybody's cousin, from John Key to
jay Z. That's crazy, that's crazy. That's insane. It's crazy
and to him and I want to know, And I
don't know if people I pay attention to a lot

(54:59):
of different ship. When you would sing hooks for niggas,
you wouldn't sing them as a girl. You would sing
the hook as they would sing the hook, which was
very odd to me, really like, what's the what's the
what's the fabi? Um? Can't let you go? Oh yeah,

(55:20):
well you're singing to the girl with him, but you're
supposed to be the girl. But parking lot pimping. Yeah,
you're singing about parking lot pimper like you wanted to. Yo.
I really I didn't even you know what, I I

(55:41):
don't even think about that. I just thought about that. Yo,
that's crazy. You could get me in the woking lot hollydad.
But just that I think about it, I used to
want to be big and a nigga so bad because
you really had to be as Na. So yeah, so

(56:02):
it was like I like I had to That's a
great perception. That is crazy. I'm like, really did that?
Look at whatever this is. I'm buying the whole bottom.

(56:24):
I none of those this this is a vibe um
got me thinking of this mother son. So there's also
life I won't say after music, but all within music,
where it be TV and radio And what were those
transitions like and that did they come at a at

(56:45):
a time where you needed them or were they things
that you just decided, you know what, I want to
branch off and do some other things. Let me get
in to this space because you know, I know, from
an artist standpoint, there are we all know there are
there are mountain tops, and then there are valley loads,
and then we gotta we gotta gotta livot, we gotta pivot,

(57:07):
we gotta scram. You know what what you'a got for
me over there? Yeah? Okay, all right, we fight, We
fight the chickens. Alright, alright, I'm the announcer at the
chicken fights on Wednesday nights. They got it's it's okaya,
come see me chicken fights and I'll be at the bullfight. Yo. Yo,

(57:34):
He's like, no, people have no idea. So how do
you get to television? I did radio first, Okay, so
this is how I got in the radio. It's so crazy,
I would um, I was. I was living between Merland
and New York at the time, and so I used
to watch Martin in high school and so ye like

(57:56):
when I met Martin, I'll myself. Had it not been
for you, I wouldn't have been able to do radio. Um.
Shout out to Ursulain Radium is my home girls, Martin sisters,
who I love very dearly. Everybody wanted the podcast to
believe trust and believe um. So I remember Tracy Clarity

(58:20):
was the program director at High nineties seven and so
one day I think I filled in for I used
to feel it for Angie Martinez. I would feel it.
I feeled it one night for Funk Flex. Everybody used
to have had me feeling. I filled in one morning.
That's what started Buck while I was there. So she
was just like, hey, do you want come working radio?

(58:40):
And I was like, you know, I will, But the
labels like no, because that will be a conflict, yea
competition and conflict. And yeah, that's what I learned. They
used to tell you know that I can't tell you
know because they'd be like, dude, you that's discrimination. You're
telling me I can't work. You know what I'm saying?
How imposed to take care of my family? So I

(59:02):
did radio because of that. And then when I got
pregnant with my daughter Heaven, that's when I was just
like THEA. Mitchem her and James Stevens. Yeah, like I
got history with all the O G S. THEA. Mitchell
gave me my first afternoon drive show in Baltimore. It
was called X one O five seven. They had just
switched from like talk radio or sports radio to hip

(59:23):
hop and R and B. So mind you ninety two
Q had been there for years, so we were a
new black station coming into a market that you're at
least expected to make it because Baltimore, you don't like you.
We were at least expected because you were at least
expected to make it. Especially it was almost like remember
when Power Want to Fire started? Oh how ninety seven

(59:46):
being here, you ain't gonna last. Ninety years later we lasted.
So it's just like I was just like, look, I'm pregnant,
I don't feel like this is my first child, feel
like going on the road. And she was like okay,
and she said, if you listen to pay attention, you'll
have a number one show. I listened to. I paid
attention and I had a number one show against the
We beat the number one shows. That was in Maryland.

(01:00:09):
So after I had my daughter, I wanted to stay there,
but the label call was just like, yeah, let's talk.
You go back outside, y'all, And that's when I started. Um,
I did Meet the Girl next Door album, so I
did that whole album pregnant, So I was like, no
much pregnant recording a whole album remember Mike Michael was
in the studio. I was like walking from the studio

(01:00:31):
recorded and then just like the birth of my daughter,
I was like back out on the road, like a
couple of weeks later, and I remember John Peki called
me nice said, you're died from you together. Don't be
got out of weeks after six weeks. And I was
outside before that because I just I've never said, if

(01:00:52):
you realize, I've never sat down a day in my
life since I was fifteen, even before then, Like I
was doing that. Really, come on, let's talk about that though,
man ter, I gotta started, what are we doing? Think? Yeah?

(01:01:15):
So it was like I was every time I have
a kid, people like every time you put out an album,
you have a baby. I'm like, damn it, I gotta
stop this man. So it was like you know, once, yeah,
once my daughter she was born, and she was like
she's to this day, she's twenty years old. She's at fast.
So I was like, I just felt I could take
on the road. So she's been on tour and everything,
and they let her get her shots early because you know,

(01:01:37):
you posted to weight like eight weeks, but she had
teeth at like two months. Right at that two month
mark when they puposed to get this. So I was
just like we all siwe We was in Jamaica and
was like and my mom and daddy because I would
be like, I'm not hiring on nanny. I don't trust
people around my kids because of trauma that happened to
me when I was a child. So I was just like, yeah,

(01:01:58):
so my mom and dad used to travel a road
with me to the good stuff, and they were preachers,
so there was circles and prayers formed around us preachers
to yeah, my dad's a bishop both but he's the
cool money driver. Yeah. Yeah. I had to fire him
because he sleep one time and I was like, we
can't have that. The Lord covered you though, because you
still the Lord covered because we ain't and no ditch child.

(01:02:26):
Do you remember the church trips how many times we
didn't know if those drivers were licensed. You got to
look to that side of the room when you have
church and stuff, and you know, we never knew if
the deacon or whoever was driving had a license. And
the band they never got old changes made that stuff. Yes,

(01:02:46):
we just to the church. Christian Union Missionary had a
church buts and then and then uh, we broke down.
We had the vans out in Marylanney always drive a
coach bus and you had to pay the money and
always be the people that he had the money. We
take the trip in in Milwaukee, we take the trip

(01:03:07):
to Great America. And then when I got to Maryland,
that's when we that's when it was six and you
get to go on the church six flashship or your
school was going to the trip and you got to
go to the summer church trip. Was cool because you
you might have made a little connection, got a little
little girlfriend. You know what I'm saying. You didn't know.

(01:03:28):
We went to your church and you just made somebody.
You might have been looking at the choir or something.
Now yeah, yeah, yeah. And when you got to six
Flags or whatever, where y'all is going, you know you
you want on your own, you know where you went
your way. You sitting next to her, her boyfriend to

(01:03:49):
the church because the church girls do a little bad
boys that used to be crazy. Actually became my girl friend.
But she cheated on me. She cheated on me. Connor
with the church, he was a good guy. I actually
became a really good friend. Um. But yeah, yeah, remember

(01:04:15):
the church. The church tis used to be lit. Everyone
on the church, So you're doing radio. I didn't grow
up the change, so um radio doing the radio. I've
actually been on your radio show. So congrats to that,
because radio is not easy. It's not because you think that, oh,

(01:04:36):
because when you watch more, you think you just get
to talk. But it was like, no, you have to
do segments. You have to have fifteen seconds to like
everything is just like, yeah, what's up? Names traffic up next? Okay,
make sure you're leaning into this, and then we need
to make sure you get to get the Walmart thing
in and then get the all that. Then you have
to make sure that people listening because they're going to

(01:04:56):
tune out, but you got to make sure that you
have to keep it. Like when I learned those metrics,
I was like, wait, what do that mean? And then
it was just like, yeah, that's the people who turned
but they always come back, So you have to wear radio.
They don't see you, they just hear you. So you
have to honestly go up to people that's least expected
to turn into you. I became the one that they

(01:05:18):
least expected to tune it. So I had an audience
because mind you. We're going from talk radio, so that's
mostly that's not black people. We don't want to listen
to people talk. And I think it was like sports
radio or whatever it was. So it was just like
they're going from the good old boys and the people
that like, I don't know why to coming into loud
mouth a little month. I kind it out next a

(01:05:39):
bog me and your ruling them. You feard me. So
it's going from regular to dag on their ratchet. But
it worked. It works. So how do you go from
how do you go from radio being successful at radio
to television? Just like honestly paying at jim M. I

(01:06:01):
always see. I don't even watch TV now, so I
don't know. But I always just like, as long as
I'm allowed to do me, I'm like, that's what people like,
let me be me, and that's what people like because
I'm like, that's real. When you try to make me
something I'm not or saying something that I don't want
to say, like trust me and this have like trust
me on this. I'm gonna give it my all, but
I'm gonna let you know that's not gonna work because

(01:06:24):
I've come from greatness, so I've like I've been through
the school of hard knocks. I learned. I learned basically
the hard way. But and everybody thinks it was easy
because it goes from John too Missy to Jay to
go to all of that stuff. But it's like I
was learning that whole time. So what I learned as
a teenager brought me into my adult life. So when

(01:06:44):
there was a lot of people, there was a lot
of artists, why is you doing ready, and why did
you do a TV? Your fans ain't gonna like you,
dada da da, because that makes you look a certain way.
I was like, oh, that ain't gonna like me. And
if they don't, I don't care. They're still gonna look.
So whether you like me, love me, hate me, you're
still gonna watch because it's gonna be real. And I
realized over the years the reason why people have always

(01:07:04):
gravitated to me to be like, yo, you keep that
just so real, like what you like When I get drunk,
I'm gonna turn this bit up. You are, ye, don't.
It's interesting because it's a conversation that Tank and I
have and we've had many times with his career. From

(01:07:26):
me being on the business side of his career and
me saying to him that when you have a gift,
a real gift, you can't over saturate a real gift
and there's no way to get away from that. Right,
So someone telling you, oh, they ain't gonna like this,
ain't gonna like that. No, you're just bringing more eyeballs

(01:07:47):
to your gift and you're actually enhancing it because now
you're giving your personality, which before social media was really
tough for the wait for Cything Horner to call somebody
knew you one way and you from from your videos
and your your outcome or if you was looking like

(01:08:10):
I was on Jay Lenno before I even had songs
that so Missy took me on it like and I
was like, man, have conversations, right, because the gift for
me was social media, you know what I'm saying and
actually going to meet people because people just assumed something
about me because of the preacher's kid, and he shouldn't

(01:08:34):
have done. Preachers preach mass me up a little bit.
But a legend industry style, a legend for a lot
of wrong things. But like let's talking about people. Aired.
The media brought it back essential media. People got to
see my personality, which is the one thing missing from

(01:08:57):
you know, all of my photos and and probably my music.
It wasn't well rounded in terms of you know, who
I really am. You know, all they saw was you
know what I'm saying, That's all they saw. You said,
you can't trust the nigga who bites his mouth to
make it so look skinny to you. Watch the niggas

(01:09:17):
who do that. I'm not saying that you were just doing.
Those niggers that do this, they can't be trusted. I
can't be trusted. Okay, just remember that I got sisters
and I got a daughter, so I be looking at looking.

(01:09:38):
If a nigga's doo lander's face can't trusted, you can't trusted.
People would meet me and be like you are not
what I expected. Because as soon as I walk in up,
what's happened? What we're doing? Okay? We even sandwiches? Who
needs a sandwich? I'm passing out the sandwiches at the luncheon?
Who needs drinks? I got the ice team? You want

(01:09:59):
sun that's got you like on that and then like
you're great, Yeah I thought you were in that. That's
what I mean. That crazy. So many times when I
first started working with Tank. Really it was like, wow, dude,
this dude like he mean and always got shirt off,
like bro the nigga coolest hell. But nobody knew that

(01:10:22):
because they only saw the album coverage, the videos and
heard the song and they and they saw Preacher's Kid.
Those are the things. Those are like you watch kid again,
watch again. I get it. Yeah it was, but I
mean god in that you feel like your television moment

(01:10:43):
was an opportunity for people to actually see all of
your personality and not just hear you. Yeah, they get
to see actually like why it was so aggressive and
then I realized, you know when yeah, that's what I
heard was she did this. That's but that's the one

(01:11:05):
that just makes it feel like that's ever had a
bop off a little Kim. I need to have one
of these because it was just like that Joe like
even to this day was something I'm like, who, no
other girls maybe total maybe total total, Yeah, but people

(01:11:33):
really just bop they would because I came from you
know side, that's not I always hated that, so I
always looked the one always. Actually I was allowed to
do that with John Pie Kid Jump. Yeah, you could
be like no, you could be you could be youthful,
you could be a young person. They was jumping at
your stage. I was like John concerts. Those concerts we

(01:11:55):
would actually wear street clothes. Yeah, and that was like
kind of frowned upon church, you know what I'm saying.
But we got to dress how we wanted to dress
to come to a John p Key concert, and we
got to turn up, turn up, and he would mix
in you know a lot of the secular music with
the band playing certain stuff, and we'd be like this
the oh my god, this is crazy, and they would

(01:12:18):
know me should go to the like, oh God, just
imagined being in church, but not really in church, you
know what I'm saying. It was like they gave you
outside of love, that a lot of outside something. I

(01:12:42):
just grew up in the wrong place, man, like he
just if I would have grew up like in the
South for the middle. But all of those churches didn't
have all of us, all all of our probably our
home churches basic they were basic. My church was traditional, basically, Yeah,
my church. Some of the you know, some of the

(01:13:03):
breaking of the traditions in my church. It was me
and that was from me going to see John b
KEI and hanging out with John Pike and listening to
John like and listening to the commission like that was
me trying to break those traditions and say, man, we kids, Man, yeah,
why do we have to listen? Don't pay the risk.

(01:13:33):
But we would do that in church. Absolutely, I'll be
playing all sorts of stuff they're offering and maybe like
but then they'll be like, oh, we know what that is,
but you supposed to be deep save spooky, how do
you know what it is? So but what's crazy is
is that I'm trying to think who broke it down? Man?
I think it was Joe Wilson because I was like,
he plays like he played. I told him one time.

(01:13:55):
I was like, I said, don't take this the wrong way.
Your gift is Lucifer Eric. He's like, wait, Lucifer became Satan.
He was the most beautiful. Yeah, he walked in music dripped.
They said he walked in the set music drip. He

(01:14:17):
walked and it was a sound. So you're Delucifer. I'm
just like, nah, that was the most beautiful. But he
got so caught up. That's why I's like with this industry,
they come on this industry. You can come in if
you come in. That's why I learned to have tough skin,

(01:14:39):
and I get it. I came in just like just
wanted to work. Oh my god, I could say, and
that's how you get taking advantage of So now I
get it. If you come and smiling, the hippy and
excite it, they're literally devout. I've seen people devour and
I'm like, damn SI And I always thought, oh my god,
they're gonna pass me, because why am I still here?

(01:15:02):
Because I survived, not only to turn up what was in,
what was in parted and placed into me as a
child and as a team. It carried over to to
this day. Now forget it. So it was, it was,
it was. It was never your last. It was you were.
You were given an extension on you because let me

(01:15:24):
tell you something about you. We talked about me. Let
me just tell you this, because you want to know
why I asked you a question so many times. I
was just like, I don't think like people like us,
We don't realize our gifts have not only changed lives,
but it's changed the world. Your music has changed my
life because nobody sings like that. You could do what

(01:15:48):
they did. They can't do what you did. So I
listened to people, I'm like, yoah, that's all take and
I'll tell you off the record. I was like, child,
that's that's his whole sound. There's a sound. So when
we hear you, we know it's you, even if it's
somebody else. Tryes. Yeah, trust me. People to have awards

(01:16:10):
that it will take up this whole run if it
wasn't for taking this the note. Yeah, so I get it,
and they'll never and if we was probably a different
color that would give you all the praise. But that's
a whole, another whole, another bag. But that's that's what
I'm saying. I've seen people I'm just like, wait, man

(01:16:30):
adds they're doing okay, they say that's church. This is
I literally dumbed down my gift because I was like,
I don't sound like that, but y'all come on, now,
we wasn't when Johnny was passing that, Mike, that's the
air I come from. When it was passing, that might
let you come out with that damn giving it to
you no more so what they considered now, oh my god,

(01:16:53):
that's bullying, that's traumatizing. No, it wasn't it built character
period period. We were tried by fire, fire fire as kids.
I had to get that out. But that's not true.
We were tried by fire. You're not you're not good

(01:17:15):
enough to be up here. Have a seat. You're not leading,
no solo, have a seat. Abundant came, you're ready, say
you off. You're really off, because you were because I was.
You're flat. You're flat. Remember. Don't you get up there

(01:17:39):
and they call you the sing a solo and be
like I don't want to saying it's like you better
sing or else. The Lord is gonna give your voice
to someone else. God sence we got listen. I don't
know what this. That's what they call it. Tell me
and I don't want them to get They ensured like

(01:18:00):
you got. You had to be you had to be tough.
You had to be just born of something different to survive.
We want people like remember they said Maddie Moore shoes
at though tennis ball, that she is. We they don't know.
You're like the lost member of the Clark sisters. I
think I was. I think I was the cat. I
was like like Derren Clark. I used to think, and

(01:18:28):
that leads to a song that a lot of people
don't know about. Listen. Listen, there's a song called Endowed
Me with You, Faith Evans, Fantasia Coco who song It
is okay like that a lot of people don't know,

(01:18:49):
but it's like the Clark Sisters to me. When I
heard that record, I was like, Oh, this is okay.
Whoever decided we're gonna call these It was a Cocoa
that was like, these are the these are the voices
that I'm calling. I know when I got to call
Phil Thornton. He called me. He was like, hey, um,

(01:19:10):
we're doing this record. So I know they had asked
other producers to do it, but I don't know if
people saw the vision. So he was like, hey, can
you flyt up? When was? It was a Tennessee web
A sap Ward produced it. So I sang the whole
record in his entirety, and then he bought Faith in
and everybody did their separate parts. So the original reference

(01:19:31):
was me, and I was just like because I always
thought I was a clerk, So Coco wanted me on
the record. I was just like, yo, I called Fantasia,
you know you gotta get on this jump. So then
it just became an effect. I know Phil was working
with Faith at the time, so he called her and
but I called fantag like, you need to get on this.
Coco is my first placement, really, my first placement in

(01:19:54):
the music business as a songwriter. A song called so
Hard to Say Goodbye that I wrote for the Hot
Coco album. It's my first placement as a songwriter ever.
What's crazy is Coco come from We all from church
and she grew up in the Bronx. I've never met
her though, really, which makes it even crazy. Never met

(01:20:14):
to this day, I never met Cocoa. She's the coolest,
Like you know what I am. I'll be in bad
be onside, like, oh man, she's the coolest. She gonna
she's gonna hear this and she's gonna be like, Yo,
that's crazy and yeah, and I got to shoot, that's

(01:20:34):
like so crazy. Yeah. I love that record though, and
that's why that's why I mentioned it. And for me
it was it was like listening to the Clark sisters,
like y'all voices together special but see asap like he
wasn't playing and I was scared. When I'm gonna tell
you one another crazy thing is. I was just like,
I was scared to sing it because I knew that
ASP used to play for Kim Barell, and I was like, listen,

(01:20:57):
I'm doing this. I don't see like, no, Kim Brew
a singer. No. And I went outside and I was
like smoking weed that session to singing and down me
because I was nervouing, you know what I was like,
And it was the weed. It calmed me. I don't
even know. I think my assistant at the time. I
was like, where how do we get weed from Baltimore

(01:21:17):
to whoever we was? But it calmed me and I
was able to do I was like, listen, I can't
do none of that stuff. Kimbarell DoD He's like, you
don't have to. I want you to do what you
did and the rest is history. So it's like, yeah,
if anybody's watching this, go listen to that. Please go
listen to that record, because these women are going crazy

(01:21:42):
on that record. Y'all are cooking Lina's bro Coco, Faith Evans, Fantasia,
and Sassy Sea. Little wisdom I would give you good
was sexy. It wasn't a little wisdom, it was your wisdom.

(01:22:05):
A little moment okay, I'm confusing a young widow sassy
ce so so man So, first of all, thank you
for your energy at my album released in Miami. Um,
that was just crazy. It's like that little bos about
to climb over. That's the climb. You gotta say, get it.

(01:22:31):
She probably remember I don't show me nothing, something like
you're gonna pull a ham strength if you jumped this.
I don't know what's crazy. After like three days he
was like you was like, I was like, you can't hear.
You're left here, Yeah, you can't hear? Said, nope, you
can't hear. I think she said, who told you that?

(01:22:52):
I said more, I can't, but who said it? I said,
I can't hear? But when were you told this? I can't.
I'm telling you right, I don't believe you. Jesus ain't
the way he's singing like that and he can't hear. No,

(01:23:13):
let me tell you this. This is a real storm
right here. You're ready go deep. I pay his attention. Okay,
I watched you on stage. You're saying from monitors, people
don't do that. They're putting them things in that and
them things make me like them. I'm like, I can't
do that you sing from monitors, So if you can't,
that's unheard of. I just I just I made the adjustment.

(01:23:37):
I trained myself to be able to process all of
it in my one ear. So the problem with me
and inn ears is that if there are no crowd mix,
I do disconnected. So yeah, if we have crowd mix,
then I'm with it because I I kind of I

(01:23:57):
thrive off of, you know, crowd in the action. If
I hear something over here, I want to respond to it.
If I hear something over here or you know what
I'm saying, like I want to get into all of
these don't want your singing. I just don't want to
run through the motions of my show like I want
to be. I want to be involved with the people,
So I can't sartist over are just trying to get
in and get hello, how many song to sing? A

(01:24:17):
piece of a song? And you'd be like, yeah, I mean,
I don't I understand people go through things. But one
thing I respect about you is that it was like
a hundred fifty degrees out there that day, and I
was like, let me know when he got two songs left,
because this letout is gonna be crazy. And so they
tell me. So I walked now slow because I'm like, no,

(01:24:40):
I want to hear these songs because once I get
in my bag, I'm not gonna remember nothing. But I
was just like, you was singing in the heat, which
humidity usually take people through out, like I'm not trying
to really yeah, like but you okay? And I'm like really,
not trying to disrespect nobody, but it's just like, I'm like,

(01:25:02):
I've never seen you have an off day, but I've
seen people I literally saw on the internet the other week.
They was like somebody sang three songs and it was like,
you know what I'm hors you don't get you a
goddamn and Hella and steam or pre recording vocals. Don't
you have these people fly out here and talk about you.
I was gonna cancel that. Really, I had been I

(01:25:25):
had been singing, going crazy, doing promo everything for weeks
and my voice was shot. I felt like I have
none left, man, I might have to end up canceling
canceling open. And he was like, I mean, if you're tired, man,
if you can't do it, you can't do it. And
I was like, I'm gonna just see how I feel,
you know, once I get there and so you know,

(01:25:46):
I just got chilled a little bit. I had a
little throat coot, but um um the red bull. I
was like, let me see where the red bull get me?
Because the red bully. And then I had a little
halls and anybody got a halls was I had halls
on me? Give me the halls. I was like, me, me, me, me,
me me. I got a little I got a little bit. Yeah,

(01:26:14):
just turned that car and it started up a little bit.
I was like, I got a little left. I was like,
let's go do it. You know what I'm saying. And
like for me, like you know, I sing hard. You
know what I'm saying, so pushing through is this is
nothing new to me. You know what I'm saying. He's
also a great adjuster exactly, so you'll you'll know, like

(01:26:34):
jail no, because he knows how high I can sing. Yeah,
and when I'm not when I'm not here and I'm
down here in this little roles, you will never find
like when I'm down there here like this, yeah just
look cooked. And I was like, yeah, I was cool.
I know, do y'all like this? This is the podcast

(01:26:57):
is lit but energy like yeast, Like I want to
see that though, like because that's a vibe. That's a vibe.
But I'm just like sometimes I like, I'm all for
giving people their flowers while they could smell them, and

(01:27:20):
I'm always a flower gifing. I like, hey, no, I'll
never give me mine. I don't look for people to
get exalted anymore like the real ones. So you saying
to me like you've been able to rock tempos like,
and I'll just be like, that's a flower and I
always hold onto that forever. But to see you like,
I'm like, when you just imagine when you want to
hunt it, child, I probably would have. I haven't been

(01:27:41):
on a hunt in a long time, really, now, let
me tell you this. And I was wondering, like when
I was seeing all the stuff on social media, was like,
I like the way the strategically he probably recorded this
week before, Like you was doing shows, you was in Baltimore,
you was everywhere. Then I saw you singing Come with Jamie.

(01:28:03):
Yeah that was a long time ago. Yeah, that was
a long time ago. But the fact that I was
just like you were everywhere and listen some of it
was us, you know, putting things together in pieces and assets,
and some of it was just the universe like just
like it's sprinkled. It's time to you know, put us
drop some tank content. Drop the tank content. Um. And

(01:28:24):
so I'm just I'm just thankful to the universe and
the people who just lended that to us. Um. So
we were just on the show singing, you know, singing good.
You know what I'm saying. Um, still having it very
tapped into our our youthful presence and our youthful gifts. Okay,
we're still here. What is what is little more doing

(01:28:49):
now and moving forward? What is the plan? What is
it called? Honestly, I'm back to the sacrificial lamb. I'm
extending my time. So my son is thirteen, that was
sing these niggas under a bus, but he wants to
be a rapper because he said nobody sings anymore and
they keep on saying R and B is dead, but
it's not. It's not. I'm just like, no, you should

(01:29:12):
sing your last longer. So he'd rather be I didn't
do that, and I was like, I told him that
he doesn't listen to me. So I told him to
remake a specific song because I'm just like he came
out the womb singing. One time he cried in church
and Kimberrells there. She was like, whose baby is that?
They cried on key? And I raised my head. She said,

(01:29:33):
that would be your kid. You know what that means?
He cried a perfect pitch, so what the organ was played?
He cried and I was just like, we used to
call him fussy just because he used to cross so much.
But he whined and it gave like a yes, and
I was like, how did they hear that? I was
so embarrassed. I was like, why will you do this

(01:29:54):
when kim Morella's on stay? But I get it, and
I'm like, listen, son, under stand it's this generation z.
They're different. They're different. But what I've learned then I
can place in him and I can sacrifice myself a
little bit more like I'm gonna go out here and
saying these old that Saul child. But so far people

(01:30:15):
have been loving and liking it. And I've been the
bag been going jam, yeah, you got jam jams jams,
and I got and I got a question actually to okay,
I got to was forever the answer to jagged edges.
Let's get me. One know what's crazy? Did Brian cot

(01:30:38):
St Let's get married? Yes, Yes, I'm pretty sure it's crazy.
I was recording. I was he did you shot him
out in the beginning of the song becos One know
what's crazy is I didn't even hear when I was
That's when I was recording Uh Meet the Girl, Let's
do album mind Job was not much pregnant, so I
sat down the whole session. Beacox came to the studio.

(01:30:59):
He was like, I song for y'all want you to
listen to? He might have would I might have to
give it to somebody else. He was like, if you
don't feel As soon as I heard but the piano
had been I was like, I wanted. He was like,
are you sure I want to record it right now?
I want to sat down then write nothing down and
none of those words wrong baby and my the point
in my life when I'm tired of playing games, I'm
ready to settle down. The only part that I've ready

(01:31:21):
bio like when you listen to the verses, none of
the ship rome. But I think I was in such
a space my first child was about to be born.
I was hyped. Yeah, anytime I hear piano? You know
you answer my question? Right? What's you're saying? I know,
I want to listen to no music? My bad? I
was recording my how so it's not the answer to it. Wait,

(01:31:42):
what's the you asked me? You said, did I hear
jagging a song? No? No? I said no, not even that. Everybody,
what you're saying, let's saying it wasn't the answer to that.
I'm saying was that the I was asking? Was that
the answered because y'all also both say, you know, well,
what was crazy? Was Nigga saying? When I heard listen

(01:32:06):
when I heard that lyric? I said, When I heard
Let's get I said, that's a horrible lyric, I said,
but but it's a very weird. What's all that? What
it is came out? I think There's Mother came out
like ninety nine or two. Yeah, yeah, it was a
very real lyric. We ain't getting no younger, so we
might as well do it, like yeah, and I was

(01:32:27):
like getting no younger, babe, And I was like, I
ain't going nowhere. You ain't gonnawhere? Like did you write
no my issues? And you know, I look at what
I'm a wig what's up? You know? I look, if
a nigga married you without your wig's ups it's all
the way I might run if that he loved you.

(01:32:55):
Waking up with the goose more, waking over that Florida.
That's you. That's how you you all? Right Now, I
got I got you. I'm I'm with But when you
have like when you take your wig off and put
on a dresser and then you got to meet meal,

(01:33:15):
braid's going big if he's like, I mean there like
a um a mannequin head that you put it on
and you just put it on the dresser. Now you
just take it off, put it on a dresser and
you just be like, don't mess with my wig, because
back then was like yeah, like a hunter nadalm jomp
be like a hundred dolt. That's why did you yo?
I'll be reading memes the girl. This girl really acts.

(01:33:38):
She said, So with the ten thousand for pseudo loans,
are they't giving us the cash or is they gonna
take it off the balance? Because I want the ten
thousand can buy me. That's where it's at right now.
That's why hair companies are making so much money. Who
would have thought? Who would have thunk. They just they
just haven't figured out the man wig just yet. Yeah,

(01:33:59):
they have they figured it out. They have not. It's
like some people that got but it's just like, no,
that's not right about the wig, the full lace front
shape up. Yeah, because didn't like I saw one. I
saw one. I've been saying, they don't. They don't call
the man. Remember they used to be two pages to

(01:34:20):
be like that many they glued on and then they
lying him. But then after they get hot and that
they start moving. You ain't getting little younger. I saw
him without his wig on, so without my My second

(01:34:41):
question is I actually like keep sweat so on, making
last forever. That's well, since we want to shout out
to the sweat, Yeah, shout out to this I worked with.
He worked with war going about this house and I remember,
but he used to live at Alpharetta. They was cooking food.
He was so well, no he can't, so goddamn twizzle.

(01:35:09):
I worked WICKI so I did. I'll trade a million bucks.
And he was in Alpharetta, Georgia. Alpharetta closes down at sundown.
So like I was like, damn, somebody cooking. I'm think
they're gonna bring us a plate. He're like, no, I'm
about to go up he and eating. I gotta go
do some running around some twig It was some twizzlers,

(01:35:30):
go eat and he left. There was no door dash back.
That was like years old, years ago. So I was
just like dag. But when I say a low key
s so I remember the label. They was like make
um keeps saying these background He said, Man, tell them
kiss my ass. They can't tell me what to do.

(01:35:51):
And I'm gonna just do one track of my boy's
gonna cut right through right. You've seen the cut right there,
then you do the rest. I ain't doing all that.
Ship back, ye, I don't do all that. Yeah, tells
ain't doing yes, So you focus on your son right now.
You're focused on the future on my son. Like are
you gonna do anymore? Are you doing anymore? People want?

(01:36:16):
I actually have some songs coming, like some features with
some What's crazy is it's like a lot of the
artists that are young, so I'm doing some things with them,
and then I have some songs that's in the tuck,
like I got songs like Todd Dollars sign. I'm just like,
how are we gonna put this out this right because
I don't know him since he was a bank I
know everybody says they were babies like fifteen years old

(01:36:37):
playing that Jay Brown's wedding, So it's like we got
this song because that's what goes like. So you know,
I'm I understand music has changed, but for the for me,
I used to think that not my sound was not childish,
but I realized it translated it. It has translated to

(01:36:57):
this generation. So when they're here, they'd be like, oh
so I don't sound like old lady. No, I don't
say like so when they be like, hey, Auntimo, like
I get it. I respect that. Like are you cool
with being called antimo? Yes, because there's a thing right
amongst women, yeah, that they don't like being called auntie.

(01:37:18):
I love it, you love it? Yeah, okay, little more
loves now it's different. I'm cool with that. I didn't.
I didn't want to be for a minute, I love it.
I didn't want to be. I feel like it's like
the leader again. It just seemed like I woke up
one day and it was just it was just overwhelming

(01:37:40):
amount of unc and O G. And I was like,
has it happened that as I'm plucking the graves out
of my beer and I'm like, it's happening to you.
It was just like when you when you get that show.
This is what they do. Y okay? So what age? What? Like? What? What?

(01:38:14):
When is a good time? Because I always thought once
you turn forty, like that's Auntie. I know there are
people that don't call me women that just feel a
way about that. I think it's a term of endearment,
like what she is. When they'd be like, that's my bitch,
and I'd be like, that's cool, but don't call me
that no more like if you don't know me like that,
you feel me be like yo, because we say that

(01:38:35):
Baltimore has a term of endearment. There are certain things
that we said. But when they'd be like auntiem or
when I go to my to my son's all my
son's football preak, just all the kids be like ah mo,
And I love it because the aunt has always been
the mom that wasn't your mom. You could go to
your hunt you understand. Yeah, I know people that's Auntie

(01:38:58):
like like they're the same, just they like section that's
the hood. Yeah, that's the hood for you. Yeah, So
that because the aunt bag then was like if he
was an auntie, it was just like that mans that
you was older. But now it's just like aunties grandmas
and like we don't like I feel like auntie is

(01:39:20):
the flies of all the things you can I ride
in yourself. It's cool. I should watch my uncle get
flying for all that fucking this rode he put his
smell good. That smell good. Tell me how you know
you gotta take care of the lady. You gotta open
the door and make sure they got flowers and that.
You know, I'm saying so like that, no more start

(01:39:42):
Yeah I am. You know, I'm saying, shout out to
the o G in the field and that's me. Yeah.
You know. You know what's crazy is many people won't
make it to for people to even care about them,
Like look at the comments and be like that, oh
there's bitch what they like? No people just I'm like,
how do Instagram let this one go through? Something? The

(01:40:03):
other day? Now, somebody was on the internet the other
day was like I had sex was something something, And
I was like cap all I said was cap. I
was like, what story was? People like you too old
to be talking at younger I was like, I just
all I said, all I said was calp. I didn't
say what part was cap. All I said was cap
And y'all got y'all let it, y'all let that round, y'all.
Luck y'all gave me too much power to yea, and

(01:40:26):
my whole jot was bring I'm thinking this cash chap
and this nigga a lie in peace. No with the ogs.
We're not standing for the lot. It's a it's a
it's an aspiration day. That mess R and B h R.
You need some R and B information for me, Okay,

(01:40:48):
you like you got like what kind of like what
type of what type of airpo? Because you have to
be because I started talking about okay, top five in
the world or like dead are live? Top five R

(01:41:13):
and B artists female female and knows it's yours. It ain't.
Don't don't make it politically correct, yours. Whitney Houston m hm, whim.
Try to think of chah. I don't gonna look through

(01:41:35):
my phone. Who I'll be listening because I listened to
the most weirdest nest. Oh God, Joe, Yeah that's one. Yeah,
because that's that was a sound. Um, Who do let
me try to think who I listened to Anita Baker.

(01:41:56):
I was just like, you could clean That's why I
know people house do you could clean your whole house?
To Anitas for a champagne on us this time? No, Yeah,
I was just you know, I just saw her. I
just saw her. Yeah. That was like a slick. That
was like a slick flick. What you know what Anita
said to me? What did she say? She said to you?

(01:42:17):
Because she never said anything to me? What did she say?
Anita said? Anita said, you can't leave us? Now? Why
was she saying? What does she say? She just looked
at me. She's like, She's like, you can't leave us? Confirmation?

(01:42:37):
How do you even know? I'm trying to get you
not to retire. I'm trying to figure out how she
even knows. Baker says, you can't retire Anita Anita in
her own in her own stress dimension, her own realm.

(01:42:57):
That way, you don't have to concern herself. And she
said to Reill, can that retire? So okay? Neither, But
I'm sorry, ship, Yeah, that hurt. That hurt me. You
heard it here first. He's probably not retiring. Go ahead, Baker,

(01:43:18):
you kill. I'm gonna tell you so y'all might not remember,
but I listened to his songs and he's went on
Kenny Green. We not what because a lot of people like,
what do you remember? His song made you a crown
and call y'all this version in the sky. So I'm

(01:43:39):
I'm naming like people. Ken Come on, come on, give
us some you know what, Give give him some Kenny
Green history for the people who don't know Kenny Green. Like,
Kenny Green was special, yea, he was ahead of time.
And I remember what I meant in my cry because
I was like, I don't think you realized how much
you changed. And he was sitting there like this, like

(01:44:00):
thought he was gonna be like like arrogant or he
was just like he was like, I was like, wait,
why did you back with? Nikenny Green was the amazing
group intro he was he did all of them leave
because he was inside let me monster like I'll keep you,

(01:44:23):
I'll keep you satisfied the way his monster. Come on,
Kenny Green. Okay, that's four. One more. That's four because
it's more than five, but one, lady, two and two
are two and five, so now that is one. It's

(01:44:45):
really Casey and judea no no no, just one because divine,
don't forget about and don't no no no, no no
no and singing leave and singing lead? What's he's singing
lead on multiple songs? And caseop thinking he's singing lead

(01:45:09):
because they have a similar tone during the lead, not
at singing lead because and it was more quartet. I
get it, and uh five, I'm trying to think like

(01:45:33):
who I will see and I would be yelling at
so like I like when I get to say people's songs, Okay,
I don't want to sing. You know, you got five kids.
You need to have a top five. These kids gotta
have somebody, don't that? Can we come back to the

(01:45:53):
no no, don't do that. Mo oh my god, come
come mom. Like I really can't think of no names
all this R and B you've been singing with. These
people are people you've been in the studio with songs with,
Because I'd be like, even if it's even if it's

(01:46:16):
a forbidden name, you can say the name. You can
say say what you gotta say, likely man at you,
it's really going Because I'm trying to think, oh ahead,
say it. I can't think of who it is. Like
then I would say, Brandy, that Full More album changed

(01:46:40):
my life. No one argue Brandy. Absolutely, I used to
listen to that. Why are you listening to that before
your show? Nickas? But now I think about it, all
the people that I've named is always the people that's
bringing out that. He brought out a sound that was

(01:47:00):
a whole sound that people try to emulatelate to this day.
And I'd be like, y'all's not the messy oil. Yes,
so it's just like but those like I would say
like that I would listen to before show. But yeah,

(01:47:23):
you have to explain your five five And it's crazy,
is I've only one I've seen a concerts probably Brandy.
I've never been to a Whitney Houston concert. I've never
been to a jod to see concert I have. I
I've never been to an early I've been the Casey
and Jojo And that's when it was, I know, crazy,

(01:47:48):
stupid crazy. But remember when he was walking out or
a chicken wing, Remember he grabbed a wing off that
if we had a show with them. They were singing
background for father and see treat, what treat? Remember they

(01:48:09):
were singing like John everybody That's why when I think
we did either Jack the Rapper or the b R. Yeah,
they were singing church. I didn't know that. Remember they
used to get was only fifteen at that time, they
were kids. Yeah, and that's why I remember. Remember what

(01:48:32):
was Donnie Soul show video Soul and they were like,
so what are your family? I remember because I used
to study people's interviews, what do your family thing about
you singing? Because they came up like apostolic holiness. I
remember going to Bishop Yes, but I went to Johnny
Graves church one time because one of the Graves used
to go to school with me. So I went to
the church. They used to win the Doyles and baby,

(01:48:53):
you wasn't coming there with no pants. So when they
was like, you know, our parents just like you know,
you ain't living right, and I was just like, don't understand.
So when they formed circles around me in church, I
used to crawl for money. You ain't about to m
just man, because you ain't get chosen. I'm gonna talk
about it. Okay, Top five R and B Songs mail

(01:49:18):
or top Okay our group, Okay, our group love me better, Kenny,
like I wish I could write like that so abstract,
like what made him think of it that? Um, please
don't go don't you don't have to do that. I

(01:49:39):
don't think you understand. I don't think you understand that
because when people go to the false set up and
it's just as effective as full voice, you can't leave us.
I can't leave it. Don't don't try to need of me.
Don't you know there's a reason. And if you think
she'd wait too, Yeah, it's gonna be some what people

(01:50:00):
just like you can't like those kind of gifts, don't
they don't come around? Yeah? Yeah, um yeah, um full Moon,
I ain't even want to run. Come on, man, come on, man,

(01:50:22):
come on. If you like she would say, get it
crack and if you like, must be a ful that.
So that's three. Um oh, I hate that. I love
this song because I know this person is not supposed

(01:50:43):
to be light, but come on, one of the okay,
come on, No matter what people think. One of the
best written songs to me in the world was the
best sex I've had by R Kelly. Sure craz came on,

(01:51:08):
but I first came on. And I want to know
another fun fact. You know I'm full of fun facts.
What I want to know because this is like, so
what from Happily ever After? Case? That's from case Wait,
mabe what part? Go ahead? Come on, come on wait.

(01:51:32):
Wasn't that song before? No no, ive never happen first. No, no, no,
there is no. I don't know, there is no. I
don't know. There is no. I don't know. Shout out
to Joe Joe Brown, shout out my guy, um um
um Chris Chris. Oh god, I can't think of Chris's

(01:51:56):
last name because we got a lot of going on.
I'm trying to figure out what my guy got paid
for that. Oh no, no, no, no, no, I believe you,
but I don't know. We're gonna get same facts. The
Greatest Sex is a take from cases Happily ever After.

(01:52:29):
I dude, you gonna put him side side was the
one that had found out and be like, oh Chris,
I can't think of his last name. It's it's I'm
missing I'm Chris. This is my guy for you too.

(01:52:49):
My apologies brother, when you see this. This is a
shout out to you. No no, no, no, absolutely because
it was and I remember the time when it happened.
It's no, no, no, he had to change. He had
he had to. He had to that brother publish. Yeah,
he changed it a little bit. But now you greats sex.

(01:53:09):
But ya. But when I heard Greatest Sex, I say,
he beat me again. Damn it. I used like I
love drama, was like he beat me and King I
used to always be like this, I'm a catching, I'm

(01:53:29):
a guin. Oh I'm gonna kill him with this one.
And then I heard greaterst Sex. I was like, I lost,
but but comma no with me, just like like you know,
like you you know when you hear you hear something,
you oh, God like what made him thinking that? I
wish I had written and produced that song and sang

(01:53:53):
it that way. Chris Henderson, Chris Henderson, Steve Henderson, Why okay?
Chris deep ended yes, yes, happily ever half okay? All right? Okay?
That that it was a three number four was four,
and I would say five mm hmm, let me take

(01:54:16):
because there's some songs, uh I love sweet love Bonita Baker.
I added that to myself because I was just like,
do you do you know? All right? That's do it?
I love those give us a little sweet love you baby,
she said with all my heart I love were you're

(01:54:36):
telling me I love you. I'm gonna give you something
to sweet love good name. I don't know. I feel
no calling off my name. You don't love me. If
you don't tell me that you don't love me, you

(01:54:57):
do not love me. If you don't tell me that,
Haul it out, man, and don't feel feel no shame.
There was no social media because now you like there
was no shame back then you knew your granddaddy had
three fans. Now that no shame is to another level

(01:55:19):
because if you say that and some little hood roach
go and say she no I and you still don't
feel away about it. Yeah, that means that man. Yeah,
because you know, at the end of the day, she
she ain't gonna do nothing. But yeah, because we ain't
getting no younger, because we already already knew my granddaddy
had different family damn families. What in his church? I

(01:55:44):
found out out later. I was like, he was outside,
but I get it he's inside too, that way, that way,
probably with a tony. I'm sure you had to fly young,
you feel me? Yeah, he first row. You know they've

(01:56:16):
thrown them over their head. Now the girls, who is
all right? Okay? Okay, I love it here, it is
your place. We're gonna do an R and B voltron Okay,
you're gonna build. You're gonna build the R and B artists. Okay,
it's gonna be vocal um style presentation performances they bob

(01:56:46):
and their passion. I remember missing one vocal style performance
and passion swag the whole. Think. That's why I think
for weeks there, because we've got the coldest who got

(01:57:09):
the chop Rick James? Maybe he keep it yo, he
was outside what he was outside. I don't even know
if we could have another Rick James. That's why I'm like,
it's the only certain people, because you know what's happening
when he's making that song. You know what's going on

(01:57:33):
in that studio session. And yeah, okay, so yeah, let's
let's start with the vocals piece it together. Who are
you going to grab the vocal from to build your
RMB artist? Who's the vocal you're taking m there? Well

(01:57:53):
have to be yours, because I'll be hearing people without
the without the order to live on the microt who
would know what that? So, yeah, you don't miss your
niggas is sick for putting auto tune on your mike,
go ahead because saying the kid, and they don't push
it because people don't understand auto tune was not created

(01:58:15):
equally jobbed to be singing with the auto tune my
messing like listen, I literally bought that mike for my
kids that shout out to tea pain and the money
he made that you should sell with this store that
doesn't exist anymore called toys Arrest. Do they have the
autotun mike? They have and you can order because I

(01:58:38):
hope t Paine still get I think, because that ship
is genius. But listen, that should not be used on
a grand stage. That should not be you because and
then when the system go out, see where you know
what else we can with the time and not to
remember when we don't need no music. Yeah, I mean

(01:59:03):
stump your seat because we had been saying harmony at
least three times today that way, no rehearsal. No, don't
you know what's crazy? Is I love at two when
you used correctly because it yeah, I think, Yeah, if
we came to see a computer we didn't, we would

(01:59:28):
go to a Max show. Yeah, I phone awards for
that ship awards or whatever is I know one of
them ships would the nerds be Yeah? And one time
I tried and I was like, wait, I try to

(01:59:48):
use on the terms, like why does it make me say?
Because if you have rato, yeah you got you gotta
push its like it pitched corresmatic family, you sing feeling
because your chromatic very loose happens, no feeling and auto
tune the computer don't got her heart. Don't talk about it,

(02:00:10):
little mo dude, though, talk about it. Listen, We'll take,
We'll take, We'll take, the listen. We would take that
early Mary J. Blige with all that feeling and all
that grit and all that over anything, with all the
tune on it over because I've seen Mary lan and

(02:00:35):
you could see her every night. She's gonna give it everything.
She's God. When she passed, I want to pass it up, like, yeah,
I'll take it. If you think I was yelling that
night when you like, I get to be a fan.
I still have the video. She came to Baltimore, so
I performed with d nice and then Mary came out.
When she does, I said, I hope when she did

(02:00:55):
no more drama she passed out? Did she? Man? Tammy
was there and I was just like, I think and
not even go off on the tangent, but I think
Mary J. Blige has the perfect song playlist of maybe
any artists, so she part of in terms of music

(02:01:17):
that that really resonates her, hire being like when Mary sings,
you know what I love too. It's because when a
lot of these are people like, oh my god, that's
my favorite, I'm like, that's what's up. I'm not here
to pick and choose who your favorite is, but I
love artists that Okay, this is my set time, I
understand it. But Mary's gonna give you testimony like then

(02:01:39):
times they have to keep it, you know. But she'll
talking between she be like, y'all don't know what I
was going through. I would like, I love when she
gets into that bag, like minutes to us, you're healing.
So that's why divertized. I'll be like, look y'all when
I listen, I'm singing all these damn love songs, but
a bitch getting her ass beat at the house. Y'all
have no idea your forby. So it's just like, you

(02:02:02):
don't know how many people went through pain, so voice
you passion Murray like her passion. This is never gonna
be people like, oh my god, that's the new man. No,
there's only don't do that Mary, and you can't put
together a jean to see stop yeah, stop, even if
you'll be jumping on like or you know what, I'm

(02:02:25):
all the leathers in the desert. No, there'll never be
another day of a mad bind never ever, ever ever
shoulder at the part whatever, They'll never be style style trip,
Who put that ship on? Go ahead and do that
that little goofy dance that abb doing. Do the goofy

(02:02:46):
dances somebody doing I know what you're talking about. Who
be doing? Man, you gotta dan like, who'll be dressing
the only person that honestly dresses of all time some time,
all time time? We got some guys and girl girls

(02:03:09):
give you this ship. The only person I know that
I'll be like, Yo, they're gonna Mike. I love the
way Mary dresses because she gonna wear boot like she's
gonna give you like when she comes on, she's gonna
give you how they put it on TV to be

(02:03:30):
and I lift the she didn't you know what? Where
with you a world stage? We're gonna put that on
power tonight, Ye power book, this is gonna because she Yeah,
she's gonna give you like she's gonna give you that
crop like you know, she's gonna rock out. She's gonna
rock out. Of all times, that part um stage performance

(02:03:58):
let me trying to is that I'd be like like,
I'll be like, yeah, I felt that. Um, I got
start going to shows again because people still be so rehearsed,
like there's one thing to rehearsed, but then there's like
sometimes you're just getting that vibe people like you went

(02:04:20):
you went past Yeah, you like like you just went sure,
Yeah like you. It's rare for people to tap in.
So I'm trying to think, like, what was the show
I went too big in a day? Maybe that was
just like Mary Mary cooking the day she's cooking. I
watched Mary J. Blige on tour every night, sixty cities,

(02:04:44):
sixty arenas sold out, and every uh, Drew Hill, Genuine
and Aaliyah all will go right before Mary. Yeah, phone
thugs are clothes and all the musicians, everybody, background singers.
We would all go out and sit in the audience

(02:05:05):
and watch Mary go to work every every night school
was in session. That's why. I'm just like people don't
realize like people because she getting what she should be
higher than that does if people come out moth throw hurt.

(02:05:25):
I'm just saying these three songs to go home, y'all
get your money back. That's out of control. I know
some people get eight hunted, like you gotta you gotta
think about like when we're not we're not about a tour,
about one off. I wasn't a tour. Do you listen? Eight?

(02:05:46):
I don't know many people, but you know it's crazy
million of show. Yeah, you're right, Well I think ain't
a Nitta getting half a million? You just said no,
But ain't she getting a half of she getting to
half a man? Yeah? But like there's Anita, there's Murray,

(02:06:06):
like I think she I think she's Mary is getting
almost a million in the show. I think she deserves.
I'm just thinking it speaks to you know what I'm saying.
But when I was, she ain't coming out of the house.
If you like, she ain't got to come up. She
don't have to come up. But the let me tell
you the blessing is because like being around her and

(02:06:29):
just like seeing her from like Missy had me around Murray's.
You know, you couldn't really fan out. You'd be like, yeah,
I'm gonna go and do these backgrounds. And then when
we were at that the first time I met her
and saw her and I was about to lose my
mind was at the Hot Boys video set. We was
at two o'clock in the morning. My sister had my nephew,
I think he was like one years old then, and

(02:06:50):
Mary and Latanya had came and We're like, oh my god.
But you know, people are like, oh, you're not allowed
to talk to them, and I'm like why, Like this,
what ain't do? Mary came to us in our trail
and she was like, I love your wigs. Well, I'm
gonna call y' all the pretty wigs sis. So she
was like, where'd you get those? I said, my friend
that does my hair, the girl yasm was braiding my

(02:07:11):
head was getting the wigs at a Flatbush Avenue for
twenty dollars. She said, twenty dollars. They were charging her
wherever they was flying her wings in two thousand dollars.
For the twenty dollar she said, IM gonna call you
all the pretty wigs. And I remember her embracing me
that night and she was like, keep your family close
because these motherfucker's ain't gonna love you like your family.
And ever since then, when I ride out, me and

(02:07:33):
my sister got the same Mama saying, Daddy already know
I can drink under the table because she ain't gonna
let no, I can hire all the security with the gun,
let somebody touch her hair on his head. She's gonna
put her life before mis We learned that back in
and I realized so when I went on tour with
Missy when we were Jay LENO have my sister with

(02:07:54):
me anytime I moving away, like I can move And
she got a whole life in the family. What's the
first thing I said when you came in here, how's
your sister? You're the first day And let me tell
you what she said When she was like where you going,
I said, I'm going to l A. I'm gonna wait.
I'm taking Jay talking about you, talking about I'm the stalker.
I was just like that. She must have been there

(02:08:15):
because she was just like no, because we've been like
just like, I don't think you realize, Yeah, you can't
leave us. Okay, it's a great vote on that's a
great votes Toronto. Let's get you, let's get back to that.
It's a great votes. That's a great because there are
some people that can sing. But I just know that

(02:08:35):
if they put it on Nanda social media. They posted
up today that you want to go up? Yeah, have
you ever talked with Mary? No? I was? I Twitter
backgrounds with Shana. We would love to say it again
because you know, I just text, Hey, it's me, it's

(02:08:57):
your friend Ja. We would love to go on. I
forgot that. I know it's a whole female tour they're
going on, and I left respect. Yeah what you're super dollar.
But at some point that point the Lord, because I
want to be there yelling Lord Lesia Amen, sister obliged

(02:09:20):
to oblige? That would I think that would be so dope.
That's R and B. So we got we got this.
It's one special part of the show too. Here we go, Okay,
here we go. You know it's it's it's a thing.
It's becoming a thing. I know you're not scared because

(02:09:41):
you're little more. But I'm gonna need you be sassy
seed for this. Be sassy. Not young wisdom, not young wisdom,
but more more more snassy. See the Young Wisdom. The
portion of the show is called I ain't saying on that? Okay,
so what that story can be? Funny? Are fucked up?

(02:10:04):
Are both got you? The only rule is that you
just can't say the names, and the people gotta guess
who it is whatever they want to do. But you
tell us the story and you just can't say no names.
So many stories you do, know you do. Let me
try to think, child, Let me try to think of

(02:10:27):
Go ahead and take your sip, take your silp, my
drink here around you, trying to think of bok got

(02:10:57):
so many childs any man saying are funny and damn,
let me try to think it was a good one.
It's so much that to happen, like foof God, these

(02:11:21):
are good questions. I wish you all to send me
the list trying to think of like a good because
I have some something like jaw and then I got
something like what the like mm hmm um shoo. God.

(02:11:42):
Thereous be so much stuff that happened to the fact
that I'm still alive, Like I'm trying to figure out
I'm still here because I've been this some fun up situation.
I'll be like, how does this happen. I used always
wonder how does this happen to an R and B person?
Like we're supposed to be almost like gospel. When no
weapon FORMI get a weippers is farming like I'm loving,
but the prospering get tricking. It gets real tricky. I'm

(02:12:10):
trying to think, Um, I can tell you one of
the best vices somebody gave me, And honestly, I used
that through my whole career, and I'm glad because I
think that's the reason why I'm still here. I remember,
like there was a time when she was I was,

(02:12:32):
and I wasn't Murray and I am. The kids and
I remember somebody they came to me. They was just
like MO, Like they used to tell people, if you
do a lot of features, you'll get oversaturated. Then people
get tired of it. They was like, no, MO, keep
going because you have something that like a lot of
people don't have, Like there's there's faith as Murray is

(02:12:54):
like this Kelly and they were singing roal hooks, but
they were just like MO, like you have something. All
I ax is that because like yeah, like because I
have been through that, I survived the turn up once
I got to the church, and I realized, oh man,
I ain't gonna even leave bird with the devil. I
just did drugs out of drink. Like so now when

(02:13:17):
I celebrate, I'm just like your eye beat all the
fucking odds. But when this person told me, they was like,
just gonna funk, none of these niggas. But I know
it was all these bitches like all the Oh I

(02:13:38):
took that, and that's what help me. Somebody takes me
longer to get to where I need to get. But
when you walk in the room and it be everybody
from the highest rap to the lowest and crap, can't
nobody say they hit me from the back. It's just

(02:14:05):
like they hit me from And do you know how
easy it is as a woman when they know when
you when you touch it, Danny, you go. I was
at all the concerts because I was all the tours
and I had access to all everybody. But it's just like,

(02:14:25):
just do a song with them. You don't have like niggas,
even the one even the girls who had gifts. I
get the girls who don't have gifts. And but at
the end of the day, I'm glad I didn't. And
then and I'll take the longer rong. I don't care.
But like I said, I've been divorced three times. Niggas

(02:14:48):
job anyway, you said three times, yeah, three times. Yes,
you know you're Elizabeth Taylor Christian jan Now I'm just
getting know I'm up there. But it was just like,
you know what, that was a part of me, like,
it's bad, I'm married in the burn, So would you
get marride again? Not to nobody that it's levels So

(02:15:12):
we will get married for love? No, you don't, you
better when you keep going. So you people had these conversations.
They had this conversation all the time, though, about what
marriage used to really be about. It used to be
there should be a businesses it was a business or
I think black people change that because we used to.

(02:15:32):
I don't think the others ever married truly for love.
They never did. They always had a bad not the
colonizes who always there's always a play. It was always
I'm watching House of Dragon right now, I'm watching Dragons
right now. The tricky situation, the other thing trying to
marry a little dragons. So it's the it's the Game

(02:15:58):
of Thrones. It's the pre free, cool to game of thrones,
and they got the Game of thrones because you keep blood.
It's about keeping the family, yo, you know, one of
the what's crazy and strength in the in the in
the wealth. But black people were trying to I had
got married one time, I hold you when my Sunday

(02:16:18):
was like, because my ex was a church musician, he's
gonna get sat down. They came to phone out that
church don't sit people down. Well, okay, I don't know
what that means. That it means you can't play. No,
you can't play well, you're supposed to be safe. So yeah,
that time, if y'all did get married, he wasn't gonna
get this one twenty five a week no more because

(02:16:40):
ever heard about those church? Why do you go to
my number? Because these musicians, now I was getting on
the ball it up. Why you want me to go
to the bank and cash. We could have took that
out off from maybe like we we can't hey you

(02:17:03):
for you, We're like you might as well keep They
told him if y'all don't get married, somebody told her
that must have been a down self tradition. But come
to find out that the church was like, no, we
don't sit people down. And I was just like, hey,
so she was already married. So then they had got married.
Like at the Bible study, definitely, they would sit you

(02:17:26):
down and you had a baby down south, and then
the baby wanted to be and your sister brother child.
Yeah I came up and you know, and sisters was
really mothers and daughters out communicated from the church. Yeah,
you know, like a lifetime movie. That was really how
traumatized if that was to realize that your mama allowed

(02:17:47):
to be like almost like a scarlet letter type vib
not all you're gonna burn it him now you got
you have to know to get pregnant. Like wait, I
didn't have to know to do nothing, you know what
I'm saying. But that was just like I'm glad niggas
ain't going for that no more. Just like it is
what it is. Yeah, very were you're talking this church
talk the world so you can survive the church early

(02:18:11):
church to firing Brimstone. Are you going to help everything?
I used to think I was going to help if
I didn't tell. I never thought I was doing everything.
Next was at my heels curse until I turned till
I started doing R and B until two years out
of high school. Me need to yeah, yeah, church grown man. Yeah,

(02:18:39):
graduated eighteen to like almost twenty, let's start doing R
and B. And it was and it was even I
was inching my way and I was like, I was like, well,
I'm gonna just be like boys to men. You know
what I'm saying, I'll be boys to man baby face, Yeah,
sinkle of bright McKnight, That's what I'm gonna be. And
then and then I got ahold of that. R Kelly.
You didn't get with no Rick James, no Prince. I

(02:19:02):
grew up some of the music, but I grew up
on what I grew up on. You you know nothing
about dirty Mind, but I grew up on like listening
was able to like when my father had was a bakery,
he had guy yep, and he had a new additions.
That was the that was you know, was in my house.

(02:19:24):
So no, I want to know. I know, Oh that's
another person. They can say he will be sleeping on him,
the monster if they sleep his tone killer killer, and
he knows it, he knows. Maybe they try to take

(02:19:46):
off the intro to the par and the and they
tried to switch it out with tray songs. And the
people like they kept. The next week that they went
back to Rugland got so bad and was like I
didn't even ask you, Yes, I didn't ask. They just
put me on this. I don't just want to get out.
But that's like Joe is just Joe just has that again,
that voice that that can cover so much ground, whether

(02:20:09):
it be whether it be dirty, hip hop or love.
So his voice just like how does he like? How
does he know? Yeah? I just wanting to know wrote
and produced for y'all know. I love Joe. I'm a
credit read doctor from that era when you get the
City unfolded, I used to see who on this? Okay,

(02:20:30):
okay you nice? Yeah yeah, okay, well listen, Um, we
don't want to take up all your time because you
know your family so you know you you are here. Um,
this is always home for you always and you are
family to us. You know that we're just letting everybody
else not his family. You got something bad to say

(02:20:53):
about littlemochect yourself protect yourself at all time? Yeah, it's
because like a tricky Yeah, like people look at me,
People look at me and think it's me. I want
to know what because I'm like, oh my God, he's

(02:21:14):
so nice. He's so yeah, and I love it. That's
that's a perfect balance to be like, you know, just
he like, man, we're gonna suck you up. I was like, yeah, man,
I can't. He's like man blood all right. Yeah, he's

(02:21:37):
saying what he would be saying what I want to
say because I knew I'll be saying some stuff from
the Bay Area. Bang, So blood is young blood for us.
Don't don't get confused, don't. But I love it. There's
no gray area area. They like you, They don't, you know,

(02:21:58):
like we might. No, But anyway, Um, you are you.
You are absolutely amazing. You are you are, you are not.
You are not old news. You know you are from
an old school, but you are still new. You're still
in the building, You're still on these stages. You still

(02:22:18):
have your look. Thank you, I'm saying you have you
have as your word been preserved for a time like this,
And what a time for everybody at this moment to
be trying, you know, to prove that R and B

(02:22:40):
it's still a lot and still a thing. And then
getting and guess who's just been sitting waiting for everybody
to realize that, Yeah, and here we are so um
