Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hey, everyone, and welcome to Sloan Alone, where I talked
in depth about hoops, basketball and a little bit more
about hoops. I'm your host, Sloan. I'm seventeen years old,
and today on the show, I'm gonna be talking to
you about if Cooper Flags are returned to do the
craziest NBA stories of all time, answering your guys's questions
to me, and so much more. Let's get into it.
(00:26):
I'm filming this episode on April third, So the month
of March just concluded. In my opinion, the month of
March is the best month for hoops. It's March Madness
and the end of the NBA season, So there's so
much drama, so much tea, and so much basketball. Let's
get into March Madness. So I want to talk a
little bit about my top five players in March Madness
(00:49):
this year. Now, there isn't any particular order, and we
haven't even seen the Final four play out yet, so
this has completely changed. But this is my ranking for now.
So to start off, we have Walter Clayton Junior. Walter
Clayton Junior has really solidified Florida as a number one seed.
I personally think that Florida is a great team, but
(01:09):
they don't give number one seed without Walter Clayton Junior.
He's averaged twenty two points per game this tournament, which
is really saying something and even let his team pass
Texas Tech and the defending champions of Yukon and Dan
Hurley doesn't let anyone score twenty two points, so you
know that's big time. Next up, we have Johnny Broom
(01:30):
of Auburn. Now Auburn is the number one overall seed
in the tournament. I personally think it should be Duke,
but that's a story for another day. He hasn't fallen
off in the tournament one bit. Yeah, he played a
great regular season and he's continued to do so. He
hasn't had a game yet under eleven rebounds. He's a
board machine. Third up, we have LJ. Cryer of Houston.
Houston has a special place in my heart because I've
(01:51):
interviewed Mercy Miller, who's a freshman on Houston, and it's
pretty cool to say that I've interviewed someone in the
Final four. I love saying that. Anyway, back to LJ.
His three point shooting percentage has dropped a little bit
in the tournament, down to thirty five percent, but it
doesn't matter because he's averaging seventeen points a game, which
is an increase from the regular season. Reminds me a
little bit of a Paul George or Jimmy Butler who
(02:12):
performs even better in the playoffs, if you know what
I mean. So Number four is Cooper flag Duh, It's Cooper.
Everyone loves Cooper Flack. He's been the number one projected
NBA draft pick since high school and he classed up
instead of classing back, which means he's one of the
youngest players in the tournament, which is super impressive. He's
been a dominant two way player and is shot just
(02:35):
under fifty percent from the field this tournament. His injury,
all the hatred meant nothing to Cooper, who's led DUP
to the final four. But let's be real, Cooper hasn't
done it himself. I want to shout out some of
his teammates like Conk Nipple, come on, Mallowatch and Tyrese Proctor.
They've also been killers and it looks like all of
them are going to be heading to the league next
year as well. Number five is j T. Toppin. Though JT.
(02:56):
Toppin is not related to Dunk Contest participants Jacob or
Obi Toppin, He's still a fabulous basketball player. He's had
played four games the tournament and he's had four double
double super impressive. I'm guessing you would have led his
team to the final four if Walter Clayton Junior of
Florida hadn't crushed their dreams. All right, So that was
(03:18):
my first team All March Madness, just as a recap,
I had Walter Clayton Junior, Johnny Broome, LJ. Crier, J T. Toppin,
and Cooper Flag. I personally think Duke's gonna win. Let's
see what happens in two days. Let's continue talking about
Duke's starboy, Cooper Flag. Is he gonna stay another year
or is he gonna go to the league? That question
has been troubling the minds of NBA experts and fans everywhere,
(03:42):
and so I want to talk a little bit my
take about it. The obvious answer for a kid as
talented as Cooper would be too head to the league.
That's every kid's dream. But with nil and the powerhouse
that is Duke University, maybe he should stay. It seems
like it's most like that he would be drafted to
an organization like the Hornets or the Wizards. Is that
(04:06):
somewhere that Cooper wants to go? If I were Cooper personally,
that wouldn't be somewhere i'd want to go. But also
we've seen instances. I mean with Wempy's draft, the Spurs
weren't supposed to get the first pick. It is a
lottery for a reason, so a lot of other teams
could get him. But it's it's interesting because you know,
if those two teams get the number one pick in
(04:27):
the lottery, I don't know what he does. Personally. I
think Cooper should just go to the league. I get it.
College is fun, it's a good time. It's a good
time for development. But remember when Zion shoe busted open
and he almost ruined his career. We don't want to
see that happen to Cooper. Cooper, go to the league.
Take that NBA money. It's a great thing that you
can get traded. If you get drafted to the Hornets,
(04:49):
you do not have to stay there forever. That's my advisory.
And you still get to be in North Carolina. Pretty cool.
So Cooper, if you're listening, I think you should go.
But selfishly, as a Duke fan, if you guys win
this year and then next year, it would be cool
to see a little two peed action. But take it
to the league. Now, we've talked about March Madness, but
like I said, the month of March is exciting for
two reasons, March Madness and the end of the NBA season.
(05:11):
So let's talk about the MBA. I want to start
doing this little thing on sloan alone where I highlight
a player that's underrated. My favorite question to ask everyone
knows is who is the most underrated player in the league.
And I always hear answers like a Drew Holiday, right,
But there's other underrated guys in the league that I
think are so underrated people don't even answer that question about.
And so the person that I'm going to highlight this
(05:31):
week is the Hawks Dyson Daniels. Now, last year with
the Pelicans, Dyson was averaging six points, four boards, three
assists to night. That's decent. That's decent. NBA players numbers
now with Victor Webbin Yama out, Dyson Daniel is one
of the two favorites to win Defensive Player of the Year.
It's a completely different story. He has fourteen points, five rebounds,
(05:52):
four assists a night, and he's the steals leader in
the league with three steals per game. You want to
the last time somebody that nineteen ninety one, I wasn't
even a thought my parents head at that time. They
weren't even married, they didn't even know each other. I
don't even think they were in college. That was thirty
years ago when Alvin Robertson did it for the Seattle SuperSonics.
(06:13):
Now that's crazy that a six' eight guard From australia
is doing. It, now that's pretty. Cool why aren't enough
people talking about? THIS i think they, should and that's
WHY i Think Dyson daniels lockdown. Mode daniels is a
underrated player in the league right. Now i'd love if
you guys could let me know other underrated players in
the league that you want me to. Cover, now for
the part of this, Episode i'm most excited for answering
(06:36):
your guys's questions for the first, time just so you
know if you have any, Questions because there was so
many incredible questions, TODAY i only picked. Three you can
continue to write questions on My. Instagram, sorry we will

threes two for, two one hundred. Percent If Kevin looney
shooting one hundred percent from the three point, line It's dubbs, Basketball,
Baby we're going. Far the next question is From Freddie
(08:02):
underscore seventy, seven who asks do you think there's a
chance The clippers make it out of the Stacked west
if fully? Healthy, Now, freddy let me tell you stacked
is not an. Understatement The west is insane this. Year,
unfortunately with The, CLIPPERS i feel like this is how
their roster. Looks it. Goes you, know we got The James,
Harden Kawhi, Zubac Norman powell up, here and then there's
(08:26):
a big drop down to The Derek jones, Junior's Nico,
batooms et. CETERA i think if there was a little
bit more action going on in this, gap The clippers
could have a, Chance but, UNFORTUNATELY i just don't think
the depth is, there AND i think without, depth they
can't make it far in The. West thanks for that. Question,
