Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is Take twenty with Mattie and Kenzie Ziegler and
I Heart Radio Podcast. Hi everyone, welcome back to Take twenty. Hi.
How are you doing today? Kensie? I am feeling really good.
Kenzie mastered her wing liner today. Yeah. I don't know
(00:25):
what you're I don't know what came over me, but
I just decided one day I'm going to do it.
And then I was like, oh my god, it looks
really good to get it, and I knew you'd be
proud of me. So what's how did you learn? What
are your tips and tricks for people listening? Well? I
do I usually do eyeliner with eyeshadow and like an
angled brush, but I'm just so over it because with
(00:51):
eyeshadow you can rub it and it just comes off.
So I was like, I need to teach myself how
to do wing liner. And I did it in one try,
I think because I was just so nervous to do it.
You just like did it and I was just like,
you know what, I'm just gonna do it. Also, I
think it helps when you have used a brown liquid liner.
It's like very precise. It's like kind of like a marker.
(01:14):
I feel like people who are scared to do a
wing I don't know why we're talking about this. People
who are scared to do a wing liner. They should
use a brown before they go into black because black
is less forgiving, right. It just looks a little too
much on my face. Anyways, what have you went up to?
What's new? Not much. I have just been like following
(01:34):
Eddie around non tour. It's been really fun. I know,
I've I love seeing all of your guys TikTok's together.
It's really cute. It was fun. It's fun, like because
he obviously wasn't on the app for a while and
then he did not want to do it, and now
he's finally being like okay whatever, and I think he
loves it. Obviously he loves it, of course, but it's
(01:58):
always fun. He's like, I want to make this video,
like okay, yeah, he's better. I know. I'm like, you know,
he actually is really good at it. It's because he
doesn't care, like he just does it, whereas we like
won't not you, but me, I'm like, I don't know,
I'm overthinking this. It's like weird. I just don't post anymore. Honestly,
(02:21):
I just like i'd rather post on TikTok now than Instagram.
I just feel like I don't post on anything anymore
unless I'm like, maybe I should post like Maddie, let's
get ready to take photos. It's always fun when you like,
like today, you know some days when you're like you
actually put on an outfit that's like a little bit
elevated from like just sweatpants and a T shirt. And
(02:43):
I'm literally wearing sweatpants and a T shirt now. But
it's like, no, but you look a cuter version. So
I'm like, maybe today we can take Yeah, that's a
really cute necklace. Thinks I made it this one. I
made the other one. Kensey, Wait, don't you have a
depop pay where you have jewelry? Have we talked about?
I do, but I have been slacking, Okay, so don't
(03:04):
check it out. Check it out. Don't check it out now?
Really good jewelry though, Yeah, I think I'm gonna start
doing it again. Then what do you how do you
what do you do? Like you find vintage gems or
what are they called? Like charms? I there's this place
here called the Rosewolf Flea Market, and it's like a
bigger version of a cheaper version. Yes, like you the
(03:29):
Melrose trading posts here is kind of like a thing,
like it's like a scene and event and like everything's
a hundred dollars or more like you're not true a
lot of it though, if you find like a really
good piece, most of the time it's more expensive. So
when I go to the rose Bolt trading post, it's
like it takes you three hours to get through one
(03:53):
side of it. But they have the coolest little things
that are like two dollars. So I like found all
of these really like old vintage charms, and I was like, oh,
I should just start making jewelry out of them, because
it's kind of like you find jewelry, but you would
want it to be like one of a kind exactly,
and it's more like a clectic that way. Like if
(04:14):
you can mix and match like different charms, it's fun
to like like stack and layer and all that stuff. Yeah,
because most of the time I don't I don't buy
a lot of jewelry because it's like I'm going to
be wearing the same thing that this person is wearing,
which is okay, but I do that I just buy jewelry,
and I just like literally I find what works, and
then I just never take it off same It's just easier. Um,
(04:38):
what is your deepop account called or when you I
honestly don't even know. I think it's like Jewels byke
Hens or something that's really cute. But yeah, I was
on my grind and now I think I need to
get back on my grind. Maddie is letting me wear
her entire closet and I have never been so happy.
All I ask is that you do not leave a
(04:59):
piece behind. I will not ruin it because I gave
you like good clothes. Guys like I might try to
steal some of them definitely won't happen. Um, But I
think we've been on this like it's really weird because
we go through phases where we like talk all the time,
and then we go through phases where we don't. But
(05:20):
like we're in a really good spot right now where
we're like hanging out and my good friends. And when
she said, yeah, you can just wear everything from my closet,
I was like, no, this is the best day of
my life. I mean, I think I'm just kind of
um getting to the point where it's like, you know what,
this is just a thing, and I really love helping
you pick out outfits and why not, Like there's no
(05:43):
point in fighting. It's just easier to be on the
same side as you. Like it's more effort to be
like no and have a whole argument rather than just
being like, yeah, I just come over and just pick
out of it. Yeah. We were trying on close for
like hours, and then we did, like I took photos
of her and each look like I was at her
full stylist. It was really fun, though, I know, and
I've been sending them to everyone, being like to pick
(06:04):
your favorites, but don't listen to everyone else. You need
to like what I'm not. I think I'm You're also like, okay,
first of all, I feel like we're hyping these like
they're not like super intense outfits because you don't want
it to be comfortable, because it's like walking the desert
all day you get tired. I want to be comfy.
I don't want to be um naked, which like most
(06:24):
people most people are, but like, go you, but I'm
just like I'm literally going to wear comfy cargo pants
and a top the entire time, and I'm gonna have fun,
Like I really, I really don't care about what I wear.
But like when someone else, like for example, like her
Instagram for her Cotel outfits, I was like, she looks
(06:45):
so good. But then again, I'm like, do I want
to wear heels the entire time? Or do I want
to wear like comfy things, sneakers and like boots. I
think is the way to go. Also, like if you
have a big group, you if you guys split off
for a second and you lose each other and you're
never so evice, there's no service, you're never going to
find each other. So it's nice. Remember that happened. We
lost each other, I, my friend Austin and I we
(07:07):
were like, oh, we're gonna go get a snack or something,
and then we lost service and we could not find
our group. How long were we like apart? You guys
were all together, but it was just Austin and I
for like thirty minutes. I feel like it was longer,
but we But the good thing was you told us like, oh, yeah,
we're going to go to this stage. So then we
were literally like running through the crowd like showing people
(07:29):
by accident, like it was terrible. And then we found
them and it was good, but you need to be
careful because you will lose service. You lose service and
you lose your friends. It's hard to find people. I
think also too, because a lot of people like honestly
not saying that you are this person, but you love
to like sometimes go in the mosh pit, or like
(07:52):
you like to be close to the group. It depends
on like what crowd she wanted to go, and the
thing like last time, last Coachella, and then for me,
I was like, I'm just gonna stay in back, all right,
I think no, but I think now I don't want
to be in that Like I would rather just be
(08:13):
like on the side watching because it is so overwhelming,
and especially like if people are like shoving you and
just like germs gross, I don't want to yeah, you know,
like I just would rather be as far away from
everyone as possible and just enjoy the concert. You know.
(08:49):
What's really exciting is everyone like Coachella happened again this year.
It's been like three years since we all were like
two nineteen was like the last time everyone was at
Coachella and and you went, I did go. I feel
like this year has been so good though, because like
more people are going casual and like you can get
(09:11):
away outfits like pants, just like pants and a tank
took yeah, because I remember when we went two years ago,
we were stressing about our outfits, like we still even
didn't go all the way, that we didn't go all
the way. But I feel like we went more like
Coachella E Like we felt like we had to because
it was our first year going, and like most people
(09:32):
are like litter and like colors and like everything. But
now this year, it's like you just are casual and
just like you're going to a normal music festival, which
I think is really cool. Well that's the thing too,
like for some people, like people have different intentions when
they go, which is not a bad thing, but it's
like some people go for their looks and to get
the photos and whatever. But you went because like you
(09:52):
enjoyed the music and you wanted to be with your friends,
you know, and like everyone that went with me, it
was their first time going, so you got would be like, yeah,
I got to show them around, Like that's so cute.
I love that. Yeah, it was really cool. Okay, now, um,
I feel like I don't know, have we done this
on the podcast? I can't remember. I don't know. Well,
(10:14):
we're going to do it. Who knows me better? I
think we knows who better. I think we have. But
we're going to do some like different questions and kind
of like a catch up. Okay, great, do you want
to ask me first? I'll ask you first. What month
did I get Ivy? Was it November? No? December? Isn't
(10:37):
her birthday in November? Her birthday is November jan January? Yes,
oh yeah, you wouldn't have gone her in November. She
was born and she was literally, okay, tiny little, she
was still a tiny baby. And she when when she arrived,
she was in a purple story. She put clothes on
for the occasion. She really did. She came in, she
(10:59):
was I need to wear She was like, put a
sweater on and I'm not gonna let her take it off.
And she was like best. She's like I need to
give my best impression. And then I took her sweater
off and she's a completely different dog. Literally are we rotating, dude? Okay? Um? Well,
then what months today? What months did I get Boots?
(11:21):
I think it was April? Correct. I don't know why
I remember that. It's because it was like we went
into lockdown in March. Yeah, and then the next month
we got him. Guys, that was like the craziest thing.
When Boots came to our house, it was like, now
we have something to do, Like, oh my god, that
(11:45):
was so fun because it wasn't quarantine like when lockdown
was happening, like you could not leave your house quarantine.
And we got Boots. Maddie like went to like the
the adoption place and they like gave her Boots through
the car. And when he came home, I was in school.
I remember I showed you in the window. I was
(12:07):
just in school and I literally was like, Greg, I'm
so sorry, I can't do school right now. I need
to go pad this dog. And I remember I brought
him in on my chest. Was so cute. And he
still has his hat he used. Sorry, we always talk
people for like what hat. He used to sleep in
his hat and now it's like his favorite thing. And
he was like not a bucket hat. It was like
a furry like a snow hat or something. I don't
(12:30):
really know, but he like used it as his bed
because he was that small, and now he plays with
it every day. It's like his favorite thing. Because it
was like the first memory he had and he doesn't know,
but we have them at every single house. He thinks
the same, Really he doesn't. He might be smarter than that. No,
he's smart. But like, um, do I prefer chocolate or
(12:55):
vanilla chocolate? See? This is kind of a trick question.
Like it's kind of a trick question because I like chocolate,
like ice cream and that stuff more, but I like
vanilla cake, but chocolate. You're right? Do you like confetti cake?
I love confettic Um? This is kind of oh, okay,
(13:19):
this is kind of a hard one. What is my
favorite genre of music? There can be multiple answers. Well,
I know it's not country. I know it's not rap
um um, I would say, I don't even know what
(13:42):
you would consider, um, well, not pop. It's maybe like
alternative or jazz, like R and B from B funk,
like kind of like Stevie Wonder or like that type
of music. But what is that called? What's like YEP style?
The EVA is my favorite, but I don't know what
(14:02):
that's considered kind of R and B jazzy. I don't
know if it's even a genre. Whatever those whatever that
crowd is like whatever Stevie Wonder, like Paul Simon, John Mayer,
I love John Mayer, Um Frank Ocean kind of just
like I don't know what that's concerned of anyways, did
(14:27):
I get it right? Yeah? You did? Um? What is
my dream car? Um? Either a Thunderbird or a Bronco,
because that's all you talk about. It is true. You know,
I love my Jeep, but now I'm like, I like
your jeep. I see, I love my Jeep. But it's
just a very loud car. What does that mean, like
(14:50):
like the top the top of it. Oh, I thought
you meant like it there since it like pops off.
It's like it's really loud, and I just know to
sit And now it's like a two years later, right,
but like next week I'm going to love my car.
So I'm just why next week it's well, I just
go through things like phases. Don't happening next week. You know,
(15:13):
I'm painting it pink. No, but I I'm sure I
don't know if you guys have seen. But on TikTok Um,
Sydney Sweeney got a vintage Bronco and she like basically
like was a full mechanic and kind of like what's
the word. She just worked it. She but that's what
(15:37):
I really want to do to a thunderbird. And she's
so cute, like she like I know, she made a
like a whole TikTok page for it and like a series,
and I think it's it's so cool that she did that. Well, yeah,
so maybe if you do that, you should document the
process because it's really fun. And I'm like not a
car person. I can appreciate cars, but I'm not like
obsessed in no every detail about every little thing, like
(16:00):
neither watching her TikTok's were like I love the journey
and I wanted to watch every single Maybe I should
call her up. I'm like, hey, here, you want to
help me with my restore my vintage Bronco? Right? I
know I need to do that. Um you're trying, okay,
um uh. What tattoo of mine is my favorite at
(16:22):
the moment. At the moment, I think your Cowboy boot.
I love that one, but right now I would say
it's this really little guy. Oh they can see it.
Show them your Cowboy boot. That one's my favorite. I
want to get it. You want to get the Cowboy
(16:43):
food four boots? You could get because before I got
the cowboy boot, because I knew I wanted to get
a boot for Boots. Eddie was like, I feel like
boots is a more like, um, like not a cowboy boot,
but like, um, a disco boot cut, and so I
was like, really, he was like, a go go boot.
(17:05):
That's okay. He was like, I feel like boots is
like a go go boot type, which makes more sense.
But I was like, a go go boot. I feel
like I'd rather have a cowboy boot on me, So
you should get a go go boot. I want to
get a tattoo for Boots because he literally is my
best I still think you should. I still think you
should get a little ivy plant. I am. I need
(17:26):
to figure out where I'm going to do that. I
think that would be so adorable because it's really beautiful
and if you do a dang teeto, look like right,
I need to do that. Getting to that time. One
more question, okay, um, what was the first concert we
went to High Five? Yes, but like that's not what's
(17:46):
the real concert with Montana? Yes, that was so much fun.
I still remember wearing that sparkly silver belt, like and
did am I wrong? Did the Cheetah Girls are. Did
Jonas Brothers open for him? I think it was the
Jonas Brothers. That's what I thought, too, because I thought
we went to the Jonas Brother's concert, which we probably did,
but they didn't. Miley, was it Hannah opening up for No? No,
(18:12):
it was a Hannah Montana concert. That was the best
day of my life, probably as a little child. Know
me too, and I until we saw Justin Bieber, I
still listened to Hannah Montana all the time. Anyways, Yeah,
I know, what are ask one more question? And then Okay,
do I prefer salt or sweet? Salt? Wrong? Really? I
(18:34):
have the biggest sweet tooth on earth. It's never yeah,
but you but I like, yeah, but you eat like
dark chocolate because it's healthier. No, but like, okay, Remember
my problem is if I eat something salty, I have
to have something sweet after. I have something salty after
the sweet, and then it's like it's an ongoing battle
(18:54):
that never ends. I have never liked you say that.
I okay, So I'll have a dinner. Let's say it's
like chicken and whatever, so like salty, and then I
have to have like either ice cream or like chocolate
or strawberries with chocolate something, and then I'm like, no,
I need like bread or like a cracker or like
something salty. Like it's so bad. I feel like people
(19:16):
watching this can relate. That's really interesting. Try it, and
then you'll fall into a cycle too. I'm just like
always hungry, so like, it just doesn't matter what it is.
You're like, whatever it is, I'm welcoming it. It's true,
it could be anything. Joe. Well, I hope all of
you listening go eat something sweet and salty and then
(19:37):
sweet again and then salty, and then you're gonna hate
me right exactly. But yeah, this was fun. Have a
good day everyone. Hi,
