Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, this is part two the Lunchbox Thanksgiving Special. When
they left, were you sad?

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (00:06):
Because they were all going to dinner.

Speaker 4 (00:08):
Oh you thought you might get invited?

Speaker 5 (00:09):
Yeah, I really did.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
I wore jeans and a nice shirt. Like I was like,
all right, here we go. Like I didn't look like,
you know.

Speaker 4 (00:15):
You don't wear jeans and a nice shirt for garth right.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Well, I mean it was a nice T shirt, like
it was a brand new T shirt, like, but it
was like a cool shirt. And I was thinking, Okay,
maybe they were so interested and intrigued by my interview,
they'll be like, hey, you want to go to dinner
with us? And I would have jumped in the car immediately.
So I'm sitting here and I'm like, ohe are you
guys going to dinner?

Speaker 6 (00:34):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (00:34):
You were even asking?

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Yeah I did.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
I asked for dinner, just kind of get conversation. They
named it, and I was like, oh, that's really cool. Yeah,
And I was like, who's paying tonight? And Derek's like, oh,
we pay you know, this is our podcast. When we
flew them in, we pay for their dinner. I'm like
all right, yeah, yeah, okay, when are we gonna get
the invite and then they're.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Like, all right, man, thanks for having us. We took pictures,
had a single. One of them said hey, you want
to come with this?

Speaker 3 (00:59):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
No, And then I saw him partying on Broadway seeing karaoke.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
If they would have invited you, would you have gone yeah,
no doubt.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Yeah, no doubt, no doubt. That's like a life moment.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
It's like one of those like oh my gosh, I'm
gonna start becoming friends with him, and they're gonna say,
next season, we're gonna try to get you on the Challenge.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
And Derek was the one you're hanging out with alone. Yes,
Derek is a three times champion on the Challenge.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Yeah, he's like a pit bull, three.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Times All Stars got the podcast? He has two hundred
and four thousand followers. Is he the one that follows you? Yes,
but you don't follow him back. I don't follow him back,
and you're not gonna follow him back? Not going to
follow him back? But why because I don't want I
don't want.

Speaker 6 (01:40):
To do that. But he doesn't follow anyone I know.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
But if he's like all in love with this dude
and wants to be his friend, follow him back. Be
the one person he can be the one person you follow.
What I would do is always replace that one person
with somebody. That'd be a hilarious bit, like who are
you following?

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Now? You only ever follow one person?

Speaker 2 (01:53):
But Derek was like he was. He thought it was
pretty cool. I didn't follow anybody. He was like, that
was he said, mad respect? He said, I looked you up.
He goes, I saw this dude with all these followers,
and he goes, you follow nobody, mad respect?

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Said do you want to keep the respect?

Speaker 2 (02:06):
I guess yes, like and then he followed me, so
it's like he even respects me more. The other four
that were here, no, love didn't even care.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Why didn't Derek invite you to dinner?

Speaker 3 (02:17):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
And then Tory and Anissa were going to be at dinner.
Their flight was delayed. They were going to be here,
but their flight got delayed.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I mean, well, I'm looking at their show as any's
let's say a lot of fun.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Is that the guy that was in here with us?

Speaker 7 (02:29):
John Brennan, Yeah, he didn't even call him Billy.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
You should get lunch box to come.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
They said, do I want to go to Challenge Mania?

Speaker 4 (02:35):
Well, yeah, I mean the show.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah, but I didn't want to go. I know I had,
I had plans had a birthday party.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Dan, anybody all right, Well, here's Lunchbox.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Here's part two, and just at the end he's wanting
that invite and he doesn't get it.

Speaker 6 (02:45):
I don't get it.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
He doesn't get it.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Here's Lunchbox with the Challenge Mania crew from MTV is
the Challenge Here Podcast special Bobby Bunch Show.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Behind the Scenes.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
What are the rules that once you find out you're
going to be on a season about contacting other people
to start setting up alliances?

Speaker 3 (03:01):
The rule?

Speaker 6 (03:02):
The rule?

Speaker 5 (03:03):
If you're wes Bergman, there is no rule.

Speaker 8 (03:06):
The rule West West contexts, your your siblings, put in
a good word for me.

Speaker 5 (03:13):
He's he's everybody.

Speaker 8 (03:15):
Uh.

Speaker 9 (03:17):
Has already started on this trip to n And I
won't and I won't say, I won't say with whom.
But I'm just saying it may or may not be
happening already.

Speaker 6 (03:25):
Derek, what do you do? What do you I don't
even know this guy.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (03:29):
There's a you're you're, you're.

Speaker 8 (03:31):
There's a confidentiality in a in an ideal world, and
I personally abide by this rule. I don't like anybody
to know that I'm going, because if they do, they
can start plotting against me. I would rather give them
the least amount of time possible. Right, So, like some
of your friends, maybe you will just in a in

(03:53):
a friendship style way, like they're there, you know you're
gonna work with them. But people you don't know, that's
a big risk reaching out to someone you don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Right, But I'm talking about your close friends, like you
really close, So like you don't say, hey, I'm going,
You're going if she's there.

Speaker 5 (04:08):
If she's there, we're gonna work together anyway.

Speaker 7 (04:10):
So what difference is to make The rule is you're
not supposed to talk to.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
Yeah, that's the rule. Yeah, so, but now.

Speaker 7 (04:16):
Doesn't happen anybody, it happens.

Speaker 9 (04:18):
It's like when Lebron and Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh
all showed up in Miami and yeah, think that they
just decided that, like the second they all became free
agents or whatever. It was like clearly playing cards on
the back of the bus in uh in the Olympics.
They had talked about it, right, same thing with this,
they're not supposed to do this stuff. But Look, if
you're if you're not cheating, you're not trying right. If

(04:40):
you're sitting there just out of principle not answering your dms,
you're probably gonna show up and everyone knows each other
and you don't and.

Speaker 10 (04:46):
I will say, I will say the DM move like
and people say the time, I always get the bad
rap that I'm pregaming. The reality is I go to
my core people, Devin being one of those core people,
you know, like a good friend, I'll be like, hey,
you got the call, YO, probably going to go on.

Speaker 6 (05:01):
That's it. That's as far as it goes.

Speaker 10 (05:02):
The DM move is the dumbest because that always blows
up like it like I hate to call them out Dusty,
Like Dusty on us A was.

Speaker 6 (05:10):
Dming everybody and everybody at the airport.

Speaker 10 (05:13):
Was like, did you get a DM by my Dusty
super fant So he was just exciting he was It's like, yeah,
I got I got on the show. I'd be like, dude,
it's so good to see.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Oh my gosh, didn't do whatever you want to you
want me to do because I'm like so excited to
be there, and I'm like.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Dude, I've been watching on TV for a year CD.
What do you want me to do?

Speaker 6 (05:33):
You want me to start a fighting with Devin?

Speaker 5 (05:34):
Okay, like what I thought?

Speaker 11 (05:37):
It was funny that they flew like the six of
Us and then like the alternates to l A, they
flew you guys somewhere else, like like you guys didn't
know that we were, did you know?

Speaker 8 (05:47):
I mean, obviously it's a double edged sword as well, though,
because you don't know the rules of the game yet.
So if you're making deals with people and you don't
know the rules of the game, and now you're on
the hook for that deal but it doesn't benefit you
with the with the rules of this specific season, then
now you're because you already made a deal with somebody
that you now don't want to work with, and they're

(06:08):
gonna bring that up when you inevitably break your word,
and then the whole house turns on you. So it's
better to keep your cards close to your chest until
you know the rules and who's gonna be there and
what the room layout looks like, who's bunking with who?
I mean, there's layers to this thing. If you think
you're just gonna DM somebody and get an alliance with him,
you got another thing coming, yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Behind the scene, like off a camera. How many people
take it personal? It's just a game, right, it's a game.
But it's not just a game because you have friendships.
I mean, Josh, when you backstab Wes, you're crying on TV.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
You're just like, man, I can't.

Speaker 5 (06:44):
I did it.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
It was me like, how many people are able to
just let that go? And how many people like are
there any people You'll name names that just hold on
to it that after the show are like, I'm still
done with you Wes?

Speaker 6 (06:54):
Right, is any still? I mean we don't.

Speaker 10 (06:56):
Yeah, we don't talk, which which if I'm being complete,
if I'm being completely honest with you, it does suck.
But at the end of the day, I did the damage, right,
I made a move and I ruined that friendship. What
I love for us to walk away from it and
be like, hey, it's just a game. I look at
it like a game of chess. But in all reality,
I crossed the guy so all the and he's not

(07:17):
even sending hate my way, but everything that we're going through,
it's fair because I did make that move. What I
love how you're saying, can we walk away from it,
shake hands, and you get me on the next roe.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
It's easy to say that. It's easy to say easy.

Speaker 5 (07:29):
To say that, but the reality count.

Speaker 6 (07:31):
The reality.

Speaker 10 (07:32):
Yeah, the reality is we live together for so long,
we especially the ones that we're lucky and very fortunate
enough that we continue to come back. You build a
bond with these people, and I can say I build
a really good bond with West. So do I regret
the move, No, But but it sucks that I lost
that friendship. And that's just what happens in the game.

(07:53):
You know, you got to deal with that type of stuff,
and honestly, you just deal with it on the next
Like I know, at some point, you know, I'm gonna
have to face the music.

Speaker 6 (08:01):
But yeah, I wish we could walk away.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
It's a lot of our jobs, That's what I say.

Speaker 6 (08:06):
It's your job.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
You're there to money.

Speaker 5 (08:07):
It's a lot of our jobs. So like that, who
has a job outside of this?

Speaker 6 (08:12):
I think.

Speaker 8 (08:15):
Job?

Speaker 5 (08:15):
Yeah, but I leave my kids.

Speaker 6 (08:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (08:19):
If you're if you're looking at it from a from
the stance of like in a workplace, if you were
to make a deal with somebody and then go back
on that deal in the workplace, and that deal costs
them money and made them look stupid.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
They would probably take it personally, right.

Speaker 8 (08:36):
You can't just say you can say okay, sorry, it's
just business, but then that person can say, okay, well
I don't want to hang out with you anymore because
you mean to me, right, So like that's it's fair to.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
Me and screw me over.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
You know.

Speaker 7 (08:48):
Yeah, I think it's interesting.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
I think that, Like, I don't see it as a game.
I see it as a as a job.

Speaker 8 (08:55):
I understand it's there is a game, and there's a
you know, we're playing a game in a format, but
it's I mean, there's real feelings involved and people are like.

Speaker 5 (09:04):
People really get married right on meeting in this game, right,
people really get hurt bad.

Speaker 8 (09:12):
So like it's a game, but it's like it's an
it's an intense game and it's a lot of people's
livelihood that you're So if you're going to do that,
I wouldn't expect anyone to take it lightly.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Joe Nay, like behind the scenes of real world, how
is it as fun as it looks on TV? Or
is it a lot of like Okay, you have to
do this, you have to do that. It's a lot
of regiment producers cutting in like telling you can't go here,
can't go there?

Speaker 6 (09:35):
Got it?

Speaker 11 (09:36):
Well, everywhere we go has to had to be like cleared.
But it is as fun as it looks. I think,
are you talking about the Real World? Are you talking
about I want to talk.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
About Real World was my first love, and then you know,
then road Rules came and then the Challenge. So I
love it all. But yeah, just behind the scenes a
real World. I just wonder if it's more like, Okay,
we sit around the house, we do nothing. It's like
it's really boring.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
But you're one who was on the spring Break Real.

Speaker 7 (09:58):
World That's season was fun.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
Yeah, I mean it was a world.

Speaker 9 (10:04):
Providence was a little bit more and I'm kidding, but
but like, yeah, she was on the one where literally
you guys worked for a company.

Speaker 6 (10:09):
Yeah that did spring Break.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
Yep, so you were on spring Break every day.

Speaker 6 (10:13):
For what was it three months?

Speaker 11 (10:16):
It was supposed to film like January to May, and
I think by like April, they're like, all right, we
got enough footage of you.

Speaker 7 (10:21):
Guys on they cut it short.

Speaker 11 (10:23):
They cut they cut our season short because they had enough.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
In Your season was l M F A O right, yeah,
Shot Shot Shot Shot.

Speaker 11 (10:32):
That was one of the only like bands that like
signed the clearance. But we worked with a lot of
different artists.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Why wouldn't they sign the clearance. They're gonna be on
MTV that's a huge audience.

Speaker 11 (10:41):
I don't know, but we did work with a lot
of different people.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
I mean, so I know, you guys got to go
and you got got dinner plan where you going to dinner?

Speaker 5 (10:48):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (10:49):
The dust and you take all these guys out to
dinner of course everybody, Yeah, we're not the show.

Speaker 7 (10:57):
We have a nice family dinner.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
When they go out for dinner and drinks on the show,
raise that when you guys.

Speaker 6 (11:03):
Got more drinks on the show? Sometimes you have to
pay for him for drinks? Yeah? Do what? Yeah? Okay?

Speaker 5 (11:08):
And how they how do they tickets?

Speaker 10 (11:11):
So you get like two drink tickets, it's two free Yeah,
two free drinks and then from there you pay.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
How do they decide who gets to come to the reunion?
Is it just the stars?

Speaker 6 (11:21):
Well?

Speaker 10 (11:21):
Whoever was big on the main story that season? You know,
we was involved in a lot of storylines. So sometimes
like the big people don't they're not involved in much,
so they don't get called, but.

Speaker 6 (11:33):
I mean, no, that's not true. They usually get called.

Speaker 9 (11:35):
Yeah, if someone's out early and they still get invited,
it's because you know that they really like that person
and they want them on their screens more so, like
for instance, uh, last season, Raven was out pretty early,
you know, and that, but they still brought her to
the reunion and that's a good sign that now she's
on you, and now she's.

Speaker 5 (11:51):
On the one that we're not.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
You don't know any of these people, and.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
I can't understand them because they're all from a foreign country,
and it's like, good God, can we I understand? Like
UK is cool, in Australia's and Germany's cool, and but
it really makes it hard to watch.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
Bring Back Kyle. We want Kyle Kyle. We want Kyle
take the rest of the UK and shove it. We
want Kyle off camera.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Do you guys hang out with TJ or is he
just is he has a separate spot.

Speaker 10 (12:19):
No, he's the coolest dude in the world. Chill as hell,
But yeah, we don't really hang at least I've never had.

Speaker 12 (12:25):
He came to our challenge mean Alive the one time
we have he's cool. I mean, he's cool like when
you get into.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
So you don't have a relationship with him really. Besides
on the show, we have.

Speaker 9 (12:37):
A little bit of more of one with him because
it's somewhat more appropriate for you know, Derek or by
way of me to reach out to him. He comes
on the podcast probably once a year, and then, like
he said, when we were in Vegas where he lives,
he came and kind of surprised everybody.

Speaker 6 (12:48):
But other than that, you know.

Speaker 9 (12:49):
You talk about these unofficial rules, right, like, other than
like a happy birthday or like hey, what's up or
congrats on something, kind of going out of your way
to talk to him more than the other cast star.
I think it's probably like another unofficial rule that nobody
really wants to break. And I know he doesn't want
to pizza across that line to break that either. So
you know, luckily, again, I think we get to talk
to more than he would if he was just a
cast member because he comes on the show so much.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Do you guys let your kids watch the show?

Speaker 11 (13:14):
I would let Nali watch it, and I like showed her.
I'm like, look, mommy's jumping out of a helicopter and
now she's just like, yeah, yeah, my mom's on the challenge.
She doesn't care, she doesn't want to watch it. I
mean my kids were younger though.

Speaker 12 (13:25):
When I came back on Dirty thirty, the question was like,
am I gonna Am I gonna let him watch this?

Speaker 7 (13:30):
Should I let him watch this? Is it appropriate?

Speaker 12 (13:34):
You know, there's some things that when he was like
nine years old, maybe not seeing like Corey come out
of the bushes, you know, with the questions of did
she or didn't she now maybe that you know, that
part was kind of like you know, maybe you know,
fast forward through or something like that.

Speaker 7 (13:49):
I had to preview it.

Speaker 12 (13:50):
But the rest of the stuff, like the competitions, the people,
you know, you know, yelling back and forth at each other,
you know, coming up with, you know, ideas on how
they need to figure this out or figure out how
to vote this person off and figure out how to
work with these people. Like, I don't think it's it's
like bad. I think you can even use it as

(14:11):
a learning thing. The one thing I was worried about
is like when I got into it with Nelson, how
I was going to kind of explain that, but then
the preview came out on the on the challenge Instagram
page while we were at Chipotle and I was looking
at it and he was looking at it, and I'm like, oh, well,
I guess I got to let me tell you about
this thing here, you know, And so don't I don't

(14:32):
mind him him watching and he picks and chooses. Now
he's fourteen.

Speaker 9 (14:35):
So and I think the via commification to make up
a word here, Survivor has always been a show that's like,
not just wanted adult viewers, but kid viewers, kids who
grow up idolizing the show, wanting to be on it themselves,
rereading the next practition of fans and players, and with
the challenge, I think they now strive to sort of
be one of those shows as well, where people watching
it would be okay showing it to their kids and
things like that. And so that's I think why you

(14:57):
don't have as much as many hot tub scenes, as
many you know, scrip club party scenes and things like that.
And although we all love that stuff, Like, if that
stuff wasn't there, I probably wouldn't show my four and
a half year old the show. But since it's not
in there, yeah, if I'm watching it and I'm you know,
check out an episode he comes in.

Speaker 6 (15:11):
What's this? Oh, it's a challenge? Okay? Oh is that Derek?
You know?

Speaker 9 (15:13):
So you know, I think that is kind of answers
your earlier question, you know.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Before we go, who's the best challenger in the history
of the challenge?

Speaker 4 (15:20):
Who's the goat?

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Who's the goat?

Speaker 6 (15:23):
CT? I'll argue that.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Go ahead, Joce, let me hear your argument.

Speaker 10 (15:28):
I would argue that argument, argue it with Johnny, and then.

Speaker 12 (15:33):
I think better than the third argument in there, and
put Jordan as well. So I think I think Jordan's obviously.

Speaker 10 (15:42):
It's that's it's I would say all three.

Speaker 8 (15:47):
I think you gotta look at current I think you
gotta look at current resume. And I mean, Derek, you
can probably speak to this better than I can. But
the format of the of a few of the ones
that Johnny won was way easier than it is to
win now.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
CT won three out of four. Yeah, and two of
them were solo.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
And one was when he was fat right, so.

Speaker 8 (16:09):
That he was just that resume alone. Plus he got
kicked off two or three. He was probably prime to
do pretty well in two if you look at whole
picture on a focused CT, who's got Cardio, like if
his endurance is there and that's just a decision that
he can make.

Speaker 5 (16:29):
He's a freak athlete. He's so smart, and.

Speaker 8 (16:33):
He's politically way more forward thinking then you would assume
if you didn't know him, he is a chess player.

Speaker 6 (16:42):
In this game.

Speaker 12 (16:43):
He's like a mad scientist mixed with like a human gorilla.

Speaker 7 (16:49):
Literally, if there was like he doesn't have and he's.

Speaker 5 (16:56):
There's nothing, you go there's no elimination.

Speaker 8 (16:58):
I would go into against CT and say, okay, this
one favors me.

Speaker 5 (17:02):
But there's a lot of puzzle, but there's I know
he's great.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
I agree that he's good at puzzles, but you're really
good at puzzle.

Speaker 5 (17:08):
Even a puzzle. I wouldn't. I wouldn't assume that it
favored me.

Speaker 8 (17:10):
I would say, okay, I got a shot here, right,
But there's saying I would go into against Jordan or
like Johnny like tugle war and say, oh, all right, Josh,
I can beat these guys.

Speaker 6 (17:22):
CET.

Speaker 5 (17:22):
There's none of that.

Speaker 8 (17:23):
And if anyone says there's something like that with him,
there full.

Speaker 12 (17:27):
In CT too, like you would go all right, well,
all right, here's a puzzle. Who's the number one person
you're gonna pick out of all the challengers, and you're like,
all right, pick one person of all challenges to do
this puzzle, right, you'd probably still come close to picking CT.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
He's top five and everything.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Do you think do you think it's unfair that when
you guys yell the answers to people in the eliminations.

Speaker 5 (17:52):
No, no, have friends.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
Be nice.

Speaker 6 (17:55):
That's part of the game.

Speaker 5 (17:56):
Be nice friends.

Speaker 6 (17:57):
That's literally part of the game.

Speaker 5 (17:59):
Yeah, how is that now?

Speaker 6 (18:00):
How is that?

Speaker 5 (18:00):
I don't I don't really like.

Speaker 10 (18:01):
That's part of the game. You build the lioness, you
build friendships. I don't like it either. I'm gonna be.

Speaker 6 (18:08):
This is a this is all right, this is if
I'm not But I'm like them that I had.

Speaker 10 (18:18):
I'm sorry, but there's moments like all right, let them
do get out, Like I remember watching him and Jay.
I wasn't on that season, but watching that, I was like, damn,
you guys probably should let it play out. But yeah,
that's part of the game. You built friendships, like, that's
your fall. If you didn't build strong times.

Speaker 11 (18:35):
Go ahead, listen when it's happened to me, when it's
so called people are helping people that elimination. Specifically, I
could not hear one specific voice.

Speaker 5 (18:46):
He was not helping me.

Speaker 11 (18:47):
The entire house was shouting, And to be honest, when
you're in elimination, or at least when I am, I
was just in the zone. I couldn't. I couldn't even
hear the people up there with that one. So you're
talking about Beth, I'm talking. Yeah, I'm talking about the
one where that doesn't the one now where she quit.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (19:08):
One he had one, which one against the vampire.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
The vampire yeah.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
Yeah, yeah, So that was it was mixed.

Speaker 7 (19:19):
It was like a mixed bag, which.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
Is crazy because you and Tory are so tight, and
then she gives this random dude that looks like Dracula
the answers.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
And Dave loves Love. You can't compete with a snuggle.
I know that now, and you can't repaired.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
It, and you won a championship.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
Yeah, but that was to go full circle here.

Speaker 8 (19:37):
That was the lesson that I learned from my fight
with Josh, which is everybody's wet dream is Devin and
Tory hating each other and feuding for the next three seasons.
So I clipped that real quick. I said nope, sorry,
not falling for it twice. Actually completely forgiven. You're totally forgiven.
You don't even have to say sorry, and now we're
never going to mess with each other again. And then

(19:57):
look what happened.

Speaker 7 (19:58):
They became writer guys.

Speaker 12 (19:59):
So there's like a I think, a mixed way to
view the help from the audience. It's either like, oh,
the help that you're getting is because you have a
good social game and your friends are helping you.

Speaker 7 (20:12):
And then the flip side of it is we just
hate the other person that and like, either you like
it because you got help or you don't like it
because you didn't get help.

Speaker 5 (20:22):
Is it fair? Probably not.

Speaker 11 (20:27):
Hey, there's eliminations now though, where they say nobody can
say anything.

Speaker 5 (20:31):
So they do say that now.

Speaker 11 (20:33):
I mean the most recent show I've done, maybe not USA,
but the one before that, they've said, like.

Speaker 13 (20:40):
When the entire House eliminated Turbo, I mean, I mean
he was to everyone, dude, he's such a tool.

Speaker 5 (20:52):
He's such a such a.

Speaker 14 (20:55):
Tool because it's insane. He's a phony and he's tool
and he is a real bad imitation to a party.
And I stand on that real bad invite.

Speaker 8 (21:07):
Don't invite him sour puss, lump, onto log, wet blanket,
you name it. We guy walked around the house with
a goddamn tennis ball taped to his forehead, shadow boxing
it for half the For half the time he was
there to intimidate us.

Speaker 5 (21:22):
I was like, Turbo, you look like a goon.

Speaker 8 (21:25):
You look like a like no one is a free
punching a little tennis ball. I'm like, bro, what do
we do he was doing? He was doing uh poll
wrestled tutorials for the international kids.

Speaker 9 (21:37):
In his defense and not just because he's We did
have him in fact at a party in San Francisco
once and he was a delight. So yeah, sure I
have one time on record. We had challenge many alive
San Francisco. He happened to be in the States. We
we we booked him a flight, but I think he
got there. He was like, Scott, I have no passport.
I was like, okay, then never mind, we'll have someone

(21:58):
drive you. We had someone drive him in a yeah him.
It was our our friend Ethan. Shouts to Ethan, uh
and he drove Turbo and D who we don't hear
much from d anymore. But she was also a delight
at the time. Uh drove them up back and forth
from La to San Francisco so Turbo could be with us.
He wore these big, huge sunglasses, and I will describe
him as having, in my opinion, action movie star energy

(22:18):
like it was.

Speaker 6 (22:20):
It was what I would.

Speaker 9 (22:20):
Imagine like hang out with Jean Claude van Dam in
nineteen ninety three would have been like in an intimidating way,
but also in a fun way. He has like an
aura about him, at least a regular folks. Well I
missed it, Well yeah, I mean I was there. Must
have been shining too bright blinded me. He put all
his heart in that one weekend and then he said

(22:40):
that's it.

Speaker 8 (22:41):
But the but the difference is is a zero.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
Is a zero first time by the way.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
So really you don't all meet each other a lot
of these parties and like get to go, we never met.

Speaker 5 (22:54):
Yeah, we never met.

Speaker 11 (22:56):
Yeah, unless you do a season, there.

Speaker 5 (22:57):
Really are no parties. So like these parties are like
this is it. I mean, we go to Mexico.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
That's the mom people are at the after parties for
the the Challenge reunion, Like I mean, Hobby from the
Teen Mom was there, and I'm like what the hell
is this guy doing on the reunion?

Speaker 11 (23:14):
Well, I think that's like in cities like LA, Like
if you live in LA or New York or places
like people.

Speaker 6 (23:20):
Yeah, no, I would say no.

Speaker 9 (23:21):
I will say that, Devin, you have definitely met a
person or two who you'd never met on the challenge
that you then met probably at one of these panels
or something like that, or spend a weekend together.

Speaker 6 (23:32):
That's an example. Now you, Johnny, You've done it many times.
John A. Here's a quick story.

Speaker 5 (23:36):
So I thought the last people.

Speaker 9 (23:38):
I thought I was doing a little pre gaming here
and I decided not on purpose, but I knew John
Ay and Michelle were going to be at a viewing
party we had for Ride or Dies that was allegedly
going to be a couple of weeks before. Allegedly they
were both going to go and do this CBS season
we just had, and I thought they become fast friends
and maybe fast Alliance members. Turns out John A went
into the game and instantly voted in who instantly figured

(24:01):
it out and orchestrated John A's dismissal by.

Speaker 6 (24:04):
Way of Tory who will be here this weekend?

Speaker 11 (24:05):
So yeah, yeah, well yeah, you try, But like Devin
said earlier, you don't know what kind of game you're
going into when you get there. So I just I
knew that later on down the road that it would
be a problem that I would run into. And I
also knew that I was probably going to go into
elimination every single time with the way they like set

(24:27):
USA two up, like with the six Vets. So I
was like, Hey, I'm going to take my shot right
now while I can, because you guys were the most
dangerous players.

Speaker 6 (24:36):
She was on your team on the challenge I was
looking at.

Speaker 5 (24:39):
I was more on your court, more on your court.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
But do you think they're making it harder and harder
for Vets to win because they're bringing all these random
ass people that are just thrown together hoping for more
drug Like why are they stacked?

Speaker 8 (24:51):
I'll say this again on record for probably the eighth time.
They keep doing it because the rookies cannot get it
together no matter how hard they try, no matter how
outnumbered we are, we dismantle them one by one every time.

Speaker 5 (25:08):
Blast this all over your socials. They won't learn. It's
a tale as old as time, and they does not matter.

Speaker 8 (25:16):
I have told them, Hey, listen, guys, you might want
to think about banding together. Here you got us out numbered,
and they'll be like, no, I think we'd rather all
lose one by one. It's insane, so they just keep
doing it doesn't matter. I think the more you do it,
it's so crazy.

Speaker 6 (25:32):
Like I walked in. I remember my rookie season.

Speaker 10 (25:34):
I was It was like, were you when you walked
in after winning Big Brother?

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Did you think I'm about to dominate this?

Speaker 6 (25:42):
No? No, I was. I my situation.

Speaker 10 (25:46):
I got leaked, so I had the worst anxiety going
into it. I wanted to do well right and I
did absolutely.

Speaker 5 (25:52):
But Josh the first episode, do you remember what happened?

Speaker 9 (25:59):
He lost the urge on his very first episode, was
on his way back to the airport to leave, and
another guy broke his arm and they said, Josh, never mind,
put the cinebun down your back.

Speaker 6 (26:10):
And then he got to go back in the game.
And now he's eight seasons. D damn.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
Do you think about like, what do you think he
would have got called back even though you got eliminated
first and you were gone.

Speaker 6 (26:19):
Do you know you think that was it?

Speaker 8 (26:21):
The same thing happened to me. Me and Cheyenne lost
our first elimination. I went home and three days later
mid bender, they were like, actually gonna need you to
come back, and we came back and went all the way.

Speaker 9 (26:31):
Eric has a similar story for his first season's or
when when someone got ejected from the game and you
got brought in?

Speaker 6 (26:37):
Right? That was it? Right?

Speaker 7 (26:39):
The first time I won?

Speaker 12 (26:40):
I think when was yeah, C beat up CT punched
someone and I got kicked off and they called me
and asked me if I could be in South Africa
twenty four hours later? Yeah, and I won my first
Child championship.

Speaker 5 (26:51):
Twenty four hours Now, how one was that?

Speaker 7 (26:53):
In Frontal three?

Speaker 3 (26:55):
How hard are the finalis?

Speaker 2 (26:57):
Like I just just described him because I watched him
on TV.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
They look hard.

Speaker 8 (27:01):
Let's put it on a scale, tell us, let's put
it on a scale like one, like one being something
in ten being something?

Speaker 5 (27:08):
What can we how can we scale? Because I like
it's hard, but in no one.

Speaker 6 (27:11):
Run run it?

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Is it harder than running a marathon?

Speaker 13 (27:14):
Uh?

Speaker 8 (27:16):
Yeah, for sure a marathon, But I think it's harder
than I think it's twenty six miles. It's not as
hard as running an a marathon. Like at the e
elite speed, that's way harder. But just like a normal
person can train and run a marathon, for sure, it's
not hard to complete a final, it's hard to win it.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Yeah, okay, yeah, and now also.

Speaker 5 (27:35):
It's harder than a marathon to win one.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
I'm sure challenges do you do they have people back
at the house to give you massages and like no.

Speaker 6 (27:41):
In Thailand they actually did that, which was crazy.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
Like I mean, I don't know if they have like
treatment like where you go to doctors and they put bandages,
you know what I mean, they get.

Speaker 12 (27:49):
Or like or like a medical or like in high
school when you go to the training room.

Speaker 10 (27:54):
We should, we should, because we get banged up in
some of these challenges, like your body is wrecked after
two months of filming.

Speaker 8 (28:01):
Honestly, the normals, the normal person on their couch trying
to do a final gets smoked by anyone else who
made it there out of the gauntlet of people that
we have. If you're ever watching, if that's kind of
the question, like how hard is it? Could a normal
person do it? Maybe a normal person could do it.
They're definitely not winning.

Speaker 6 (28:22):
Zero.

Speaker 12 (28:23):
Devin doesn't work out before he goes on Challenges and
he just won the last season.

Speaker 5 (28:26):
So I mean, no, I was working out for.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
I trust me the Devon that started on the Challenge
to the Devon. Now you can tell he trains, he
looks different, he operates different, everything is different.

Speaker 5 (28:45):
So I'm not gonna believe elite.

Speaker 3 (28:49):
Yeah, I don't believe it.

Speaker 4 (28:52):
Okay, I seen your.

Speaker 12 (28:53):
I seen your stat line special seven and a half mile,
six and a half mile, what is it?

Speaker 8 (28:58):
I mean, I can move pretty good. We wait in
about two oh six right now? Waitstill moving pretty good?

Speaker 3 (29:05):
That's good.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
Now, guys, if you're anywhere around the country, Challenge Mania
is coming all over Buffalo in December sixteenth, Indy, New York, Tampa, Chicago, Portland.
Get tickets at Challengemania dot Live.

Speaker 5 (29:17):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
I mean, what you guys, what do you guys do
with the Challenge Mania? Like, what can people expect when
they come out?

Speaker 6 (29:23):
All? Right?

Speaker 9 (29:23):
So you've watched a lot of those reunion shows, right,
and so it's kind of a condensed version of that.
We don't have thirty people there, but we have you know,
anywhere from five to seven cast members on stage. I
kind of co mc the thing with Derek we bring
everybody out wrestler style with their own entrance or their
own crowd interaction. The crowd's very much a part of
the show. They get to yell stuff out. We don't
want them to kind of interrupt all the time. But
the last forty five minutes are along Q and A.

(29:44):
They get to ask whatever they want, even some questions
we maybe are too scared to ask on the podcast.
And then we kick about two thirds of people out.
Third of the people stay. We do a big meet
and greet. Everyone gets their selfies and their poster sign
stuff like that. So it's it's the closest you're gonna
come to live. It in a challengehouse for about three
to five hours.

Speaker 7 (29:58):
It's like Disney on Ice, except with Challenge.

Speaker 5 (30:02):
Couldn't I couldn't have, you know, it's a lot of
the beers are on ice.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
Certainly that's awesome.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Well, Derek, Devin, John Ay, Josh Scott, thank you so much.
Like as a huge fan, I appreciate the time. It's
my wife's birthday, shurobably go home and they have a
birthday to her.

Speaker 6 (30:23):
Birthday.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
Yeah, yeah, so thank you guys so much.

Speaker 5 (30:25):
Appreciate you, thank.

Speaker 7 (30:26):
You, thank you So this is guy.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Don't listen to Lunchbox because he gets my name wrong
every time.

Speaker 5 (30:31):
