Speaker 1 (00:08):
What's up, guys, It's Sloane Welcome back to another episode
of Sloane Alone. Do you get it? Do you get it? Okay,
let me know what you guys think. In the comments.
We're just trying out the name. Nothing's for sure, but
I think it's fun. In today's episode, we're gonna be
talking about the All Star Game, Cooper Flag two, Sloane

(00:29):
Nose alumnis making their on court debut together, and my
Star of the Week. So I think this is gonna
be a really fun episode. Let's get into it. Okay.
So what am I most excited for about All Star Weekend?
Let me tell you, guys. All Star Weekend is my
Roman Empire. I think about All Star Weekend all the time.

(00:51):
It's so much fun because, as you guys know, I'm
still a teenager, right. I go to school, I go
to soccer practice, I do stuff like that, and All
Star Weekend really the time where I feel like I
get to come out of my shell and really be
slow notes. I get to talk to basketball players, watch
basketball games, do all of it. It's so fun, and
it's especially exciting that it's going to be in San

(01:13):
Francisco at Chase Center. As you guys know, I'm a
Warriors fan, so knowing that it's going to be at
our home arena is super exciting. Chase is also one
of my favorite NBA arenas, so I think that will
be cool. Speaking of NBA arenas, I actually went into
it Dom for the first time this week. It was
for a UFC fight, So no, it wasn't for a
Clippers game, but it's a sick arena. My favorite thing

(01:35):
that they had was on the seats you can vote,
and so they would ask us UFC trivia stuff like
that and we got to vote on the seat and
then it would tell you who the winner was. So
I definitely need to find myself going to a Clippers
game soon because wow, into it is an incredible arena.
Props to the Clippers. Okay, let's get back on track.
So first off, who do I want to see in

(01:56):
the dunk Contest? So I believe so far Stefan Castle
and Matas Bouzellis have committed to playing in the dunk Contest.
No hate to either of them, but when did the
Dunk Contest become a rookie dunk contest? I thought that
the Dunk Contest was for the whole league. I mean,
in the past years, we've seen people Mac mcclun who

(02:16):
aren't really even in the NBA in the Dunk Contest.
We need to start getting all stars and real top
guys back in the Dunk Contest. I would like literally
sell my soul to see jaw Zion and battle it
out in the dunk contest aleticism, creativity. It would be fire.
And those are guys that are known for their dunking.
You know, Matas and Stefan are both great dunkers. They're athletic,

(02:41):
but it's nothing like a show that we could see
by jaw Zion in it. That'd be cool. Okay, Next up,
I want to move on to the Celebrity Game, sort
of same thing as the Dunk Contest. Some people that
have been in the Celebrity Game recently have not really
been defined necessarily as celebrities, you know, maybe more influencer
or stuff like that. So my two dream Celebrity Game

(03:06):
guests players would be Zendeia. I mean, she played basketball
growing up. It's Zendeia, and I feel like it would
be so cool to see her ball see Tom Holland
cheering her on in this stands that would be sick.
And my other one is Michael B. Jordan. Again, it's
Michael B. Jordan. He has the name to play in
the Celebrity Game, let's be real, and I feel like
in all his movies, I mean, think about Creed, think

(03:28):
about Black Panther. He's literally so unbelievably athletic, so seeing
him get up there and done. He's not that tall,
but it would still be pretty cool to see him
in the Celebrity Game. Also, you know, I'm not a
basketball player. I'm a soccer player, but seeing me in
there one day, one day, okay, guys, when I'm much
older and hopefully I actually make it, that would be
super super cool. I want to know who you guys

(03:50):
want to see in the Dunk Contest and the Celebrity Game,
so make sure to comment down below. Another thing that's
very exciting about this twenty twenty five All Star Game
in San Francisco is the new format. So it's a
new mini tournament with four teams in three games, and
one of the teams isn't All Stars, it's Rising Stars.
I love to see that because here's the thing. Short

(04:11):
if the All Stars played the Rising Stars in ten games,
I think the All Stars would win probably nine out
of ten of them. But in one game with the
you know short it's short, it's not long whatsoever, and
it's more casual. The rising Stars could really go out
there and feel like they have something to prove. A
lot of All Stars we've been seeing lately do not
take the game seriously, but the rising stars take it
more seriously because this is their time to prove themselves.

(04:32):
I would love to see that, and I'm just really
excited to see this new format. I think in past years,
obviously the All Star Game has gotten a little bit boring,
and so seeing it be a tournament hopefully adds some
competitive nature to the All Star Game. Okay, now I
want to move on to Cooper Flag, who set the
conference all time scoring high from a freshman. I mean

(04:53):
that is big time. That is the activities of a
number one pick. Cooper Flag had forty two points, and
I'm very excited to see that. I've been a Cooper
fan for a while. I love watching his high school mixtapes.
His athleticism is unmatched. He's a nice jump or two.
I really think he's so talented, and I think the
problem is This is about how much hype there is
about high school players is before he even got to college,

(05:15):
we said, oh, he's gonna be the number one pick,
and so until he had a game like this one,
it was hard for us to really lock that in
because you're like, oh, Cooper Flag is fifteen points. Wait,
but he's the number one pick. That's not good enough.
So I like that he really silenced the hitters with
this one and had a nice forty two piece amazing.
I would watch the highlights if you haven't really cool
to see. Where do I want him to end up? Though,

(05:37):
that's the question. I mean, Cooper Flag low key gives
Utah Jazz vibes. The Jazz have an insane fandom. They're,
you know, one of the worst scenes in the league.
So it seems like that lottery may go in their favor,
and I feel like he could play well there. I
think that, you know, growing up in Maine, he's sort
of like a small town kid, and I think that

(05:58):
you chalk and have that vibe, and so I think
that that would be cool to see. I do also
think it would be cool to see him on the Wizards.
I mean him and Jordan Poole that could be a
pretty special duo as long as they would get along.
So I'm excited to see where that lottery pick number
one pick goes. But here's my question for you guys.

(06:19):
If they took away the one and done rule, you
could go straight from high school to the MBA, meaning
technically next year, after my senior year, I could go
to the MBA, just saying, just saying, Okay, if they
took that away, who would you draft first in the
twenty twenty five MBA draft, Cooper Flag or aj Debansa.
I'm curious what you guys have to say about that.

(06:40):
Let me know in the comments. Now, I want to
move on to a little new segment we're doing called
Sloan's Star of the Week. My star of the week
this week is Caid Cunningham. Of course, Caid's always been
that guy, but he just turned a Detroit team that
was awful into a pretty decent team, which is in
impressive to say. I mean, we all remember when there

(07:03):
was that whole thing with the I think it was
the free Wings or the free cookies or something like that.
It's Detroit, just one and that's how bad they are.
They literally couldn't win and now he's made them pretty decent.
So I think that that's been pretty cool to see.
And Kate is my Star of the week. I want
to try to make though my Stars of the Week
a little bit more underground because Kate's probably going to

(07:23):
be an All Star. So if you guys have any recommendations,
let me know. But I'm going to keep brainstorming and
I'm excited to see the next one. Okay, moving on,
I want to talk about Max and Cam Christie, two
slowan nose alumps and brothers sharing the court together. They're
both number twelve, both have the laughing Christie duh, and
they both balled out and have been balling. Max has

(07:46):
slayed in his starting role on the Lakers. I've been
to two Lakers games since he's been starting, and he's
such a great role player. He knows where his teammates
are at all times. He has great decision making. He's
a really fun player to watch and he's a really
cool guy. And Cam has been bawling in the G League.
I don't know if you guys follow the G League,

(08:06):
but I do, and he has been balling on the
Ontario Clippers and now seeing him getting the chance to
be called up to the actual Clippers. Nonetheless, playing with
his brother is super cool. I can't believe or can't
even begin to fathom, what that must be like for
their parents to see them both share the court together.
To La Teams, It's a story out of a movie. Anyways, Guys,

(08:28):
thanks so much for listening to this episode of Sloan Alone.
