the only thing is that I know I've been telling
stories and cutting up since I was a youngster. My
poor mother, if somebody would have told her that I
was a comedian, it would have made her life a
little easier. She was wondering what was wrong with me?
But yeah, I've kind of been this way since the beginning.
And and I take it right on the stage, you know,

(21:39):
really authentic act up there, right out of Harvest, Alabama,
straight right right to the stage. So it's a lot
of fun to this brand of comedy.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
Well, well, you can tell the guys that have you
that that you're sharing a stage with, like O for
Burt Kreischer, a buddy, it's a machine. Larry the Cable Guy,
we talked about that and of course John Chris Nate
Burgatzi is doing. And there you are, buddy, now your
new album. So tell our listeners man eating dinner twice,

(22:10):

there making some smother covered chop.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
Wad Mala Island down in the local. Good good, George,
we'll welcome Boddie. Uh so, uh, you got the shot?

Speaker 4 (27:27):
What do you think who's had one of these has
had one or two of them stolen before.

Speaker 13 (27:34):
Well, back when I was in high school, I was
a police cadet and and we, uh what what we
seem to end up with was a trunk full of bicycles.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
Ah, so well, well let's say, first, if that is
the correct answer, show us bicycles.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Yes, you know, so where you're like.

Speaker 4 (28:00):
Just going around getting them, showing them how easy it
was to steal them, Like when you know, Barney broke
into the Maybury Bank.

Speaker 5 (28:06):
They usually discouraged having the cadets steel bicycles or anything else.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
So how did you wind up with the bicycles and recoveries?

Speaker 10 (28:14):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (28:14):
Oh yeah, taking them back from the back guy.

Speaker 13 (28:20):
Well they pull up and say, you know, this has
been this bicycle parked in my yard for a while,
and then we'd go investigating. They'd ofction them off every year.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
Yeah, how about that.

Speaker 5 (28:30):
One of the most unclaimed things at a police department
is a bicycle, and there's tons of them there and
they do have to sell them off.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
All right, Well, good, well, let's turn this into a
charitable work there.

Speaker 4 (28:41):
We'll good talk George, and look at you winning the
big old Southern East Pets back for your victory on
John Boy Jeopardy.

Speaker 13 (28:48):

mater manger and he hall looking for now?

Speaker 1 (32:31):

Speaker 7 (32:35):
You mean mister g ed g E. D.

Speaker 1 (32:38):

Speaker 7 (32:40):
No, in this case ged stands for generally eat up
with Doug. Hey, I got me another fan letter the
other day.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
Oh, let me get it's another marriage proposal from a
woman who's already married.

Speaker 7 (32:52):
Oh, this here come from a college educated fellow.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
Oh, marriage proposal from a man that's already married.

Speaker 7 (32:58):
No, enjoins me on a purely botonic and intellectual level. Hey,
check us out their big show, Gang. I've been enjoying
your programs, and one of my favorite characters is how It.
In my college years, I spent a little time studying
classical English literature. While perusing a copy of Henry the

(33:18):
Fourth Part one. Recently I came across a bond mole
that's French for a real goodurn in Act two, scene four.
It made me think of how It. During an exchange
in the boy's head tavern, Prince Henry delivers this line
thy leather jerkin, crystal button, nodding, painted aget ring puke,

(33:38):
stuck in cattis garters, smooth tongue, Spanish pouch. Now doesn't
that sound like one of holt snow driving knuckle dragon insult?
Is this good old boy more educated than he's letting on?
Are his humorous escapades inspired by Shakespeare? Inquiring minds want
to know Jim Dunn, Birmingham, Alabama. Here's my reply, Dear Jim,

(34:02):
why is me my greatest fair has been realized? My
colorful collection of backwards antics have been revealed as the
carefully constructed facade that they are. Tis true. Good Sir,
Though I strove mightily to present myself as the leader
of a league of dem yet genial country bumpkins, I
actually have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature

(34:25):
for my years as a Rhodes scholar at Oxford in
the early nineteen seventies, when I roomed with Algar and
Tommy Lee John. Since you have discovered the leather jerk
and Spanish parts soliloquy, you have no doubt identified the
Shakespearean roots of other famous moments in Hoyd and Delbert history,
for example, Richard the Third's pro covity for younger members

(34:46):
of the fair Sex, which became Delbert Stady and his
well known attraction to underage women in general, and the
Olsen Twins in particular, not to mention Romeo and Mercutio's
memorable face off in Act one of Romeo and Juliet,
which later became Hoyt and Delbert in the Deer Costume,
and of course, from much Ado about Nothing, the classic

(35:09):
question what ho sets the wind in that corner? Later
adapted as at time Delbert let loose a big fart
with his girlfriend in the truck. In short, each of
our comic misadventures rests on the principal advance by Macbeth
in the closing moments of Act five, Scene five. I quote,
it is a tale told by an idiot, full of

(35:30):
sound and fury, signifying nothing. I hope this startling revelation
doesn't tarnish your enjoyment of our occasional comedic presentations regards.

Speaker 4 (35:41):
Let me guess you're just kidd about being college educated,
right you?

Speaker 7 (35:44):
Thank hey. Our big literary influences is Jerry Klere and
brother Dave Garden All day I know about Shakespeare is
they make a pretty good fishing run, doesn't I got
a run here, men, Professor bas Nicker says, fixing to
go to list, you will think, yeah, well man, you
tell him I said good night, good night. Pardon this
actually tolorrow that I shall say good night till it
