(00:29):
who is the great comedian and writer and host of
the podcast It's Judy Show with Judy Gold, and her
name is Judy Gold.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Welcome Judy, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
I just love this podcast. I have listened multiple times
and I'm just excited to be a guest, and I
especially love your episodes.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Hey, Jay, thank you, well, thank you Judy. I appreciate
that I think I am.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
We don't play favorites here at the Puzzler.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
We no, no, no, I mean tomorrow I'm gonna gregs
is gonna be my favorite? Id it? Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:11):
I see the way this works? Yeah, okay, all right,
all right, well I'll take the glory while I have it.
Uh So, today we've got one of our favorite types
of puzzles here at the Puzzler. It's called a dit Lloyd.
I don't know if you know what is it dit Lloyd,
but it isn't Isn't that what I will?
Speaker 2 (01:32):
No, Kim Jong Un called trump dit Lloyd.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
That is a great point that I think that was dotard.
I think that was dotard, which is an awesome word.
I love that word that you sometimes see in spelling
be Yeah, do tard.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
You know, if you're gonna go out dating, if you're gonna,
I'm sorry Ja to interrupt you, and Breonna wants to
kill me. But if you're gonna, no, you get up
at five. And but if you're ever in the dating world,
try not to mention spelling bee on the first date.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Okay, So wait, I know that you're a puzzle fan,
so you just stick with the crossword.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
No, you know, when you say it to the New
York Times crosser puzzle people are like, oh, I mean,
but I don't tell them. I do it on Monday
and then I can't figure out Tuesday and that's not true.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
But yeah, whatever, all right, But you think spelling bee
would that would be something that would inspire some I'm.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Not sure I would, you know, maybe on the stade
not that impressive.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Yeah all right, all right, well I feel close to you.
That's why I felt I could say it.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Thank you, thank you, and I want you to be
you a J I want you to be authentic.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yeah, thank you, Judy. All right, Well, this one I
hope you'll find better than the spelling Bee. It is
a classic puzzle that combines words and numbers. So it's
a phrase that uses numbers and abbreviations. So I'll give
you an example. If I were to say three hundred
and sixty five ds in a Y, then the answer
(03:13):
might be three hundred and sixty five days and a year.
So that's the way it works.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
That's crazy. I didn't even know. No, Okay, I got it.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
All right, you got it. She got it. Okay, are
you ready?
Speaker 2 (03:26):
I'm ready.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Here's your first one, four out of five d R,
where the whole thing is four out of five d R,
s G TP W CG.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Okay, I'm just gonna do the four out of five
dentists recommend, Yes, what are.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
The following letters?
Speaker 2 (03:51):
After that? I forgot SGT p W four five dentists recommend.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
St SG d T. I mean, you got it. I'm
giving you full credit because that whole part. But but yes,
it was that recommends sugarless gum for their patients who
chew gum, which, oh.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yeah, that's right, sugarless gum for the chew gum.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Right, the Trident commercial.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
I don't like them agent.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Oh really, no gum. I don't either. I'm not much
but uh, I'm not a gum.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
No, Well I chose I'm not a gum sue.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
I chose this one because I always thought this was
like a classic stand up joke where people would say, well,
what about the fifth dentist? And I felt it was
a opportunity for me to research. And it turns out,
first of all, it was eighty five percent. It wasn't
four out of five. It was it was higher than
(04:47):
four out of five eighty five percent, so they undersold it.
Dentists recommended sugarless gum for the basis, and the other
fifteen percent recommended not chewing gum at all. So it
wasn't like there were a lot of dentists saying, oh, yeah,
go choose.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Some, so there you go.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Oh yeah. I felt that was like a there you go.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
But you know what they did aj what they they
took the information and they modified it so that it
worked for their needs. And it's such an unusual thing
for people to do, especially when they're running for office.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
You do not see that in politics today? It is
true or gum commercials.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Yeah at all?
Speaker 1 (05:32):
All right, you're ready for the next one. We have
seven y I. Yes, yes, you're ready? Or yes you
got it? Seven y I seven y I no, seven
y I oh I see? Okay, very good. What is
the it is? This is it's the name of a movie,
(05:53):
and it's seven, the letter why, and then the letter
I got it? You got it?
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Okay, Well, I'm gonna go with yes, of course. I
aj seriously, thank god Greg didn't pick this movie, so
I know what the movie is. It is the seven Year.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Itch, exactly, the seven Year Itch, which I have not
seen in a long time, but I think I did
see it. All right, you're ready for another and we
got a couple more, all right? This one is three
S to the W, three S to the W. And
I have a hint for you because it is a
little tricky.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
I mean, I know what it is, but I'll I
would love to hear your hint.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Really, you got it, all right? I was going to
give you the hint. If you have ninety nine b
of B on the W, if you drink all of those,
you might get.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Okay. I wish I hadn't have asked for the hint.
It's three sheets to the wind, yes and yeah, the
hint didn't help a j Well, I wanted you to
say the hint, right, but I wanted you to say
the hint because I know how hard you worked on it.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
I did because I had to find another dit Loyd
that would relate to the first dit Loyd, and I
was very proud that I had. But I guess it's
it's on deaf ears. But all right, uh well, I'm
glad you got it without the hint. That that makes
me happy. Oh I have another one with a hint
(07:33):
that you may not appreciate the hint, but you're ready,
I'm going to give you the first one. Yes, O
C nine O C nine.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
O C nine. Oh so the letters the letters in
the uh in the opposite.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Oh right, right. Sometimes sometimes we mix it up at
the Dits factory.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
I mean it really tricked me here, yeah oh nine hmm.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
All right, Can I give you the hint now?
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Yes, I I yes, please.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
All right. It's very similar to in seventh h in
seventh h mm hmm, in seventh heaven.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
I'm gonna say because you know, you said heaven, which
is not really tangible sure and doesn't really exist. And
I also think Cloud nine doesn't exist.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
So on cloud nine you got it.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
In seventh heaven, they don't exist. Okay. As my mother
always said, when you die, the battery dies too, and
that's the end.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
And I said, oh god, that's so loving.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Thank you. Yeah, that's it, so.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Well, I love. I mean, well, we didn't ask for
the theology, but I'm happy to get it. I am
happy to get it. You did great, all right, one more, well,
we got you here. One more? Oh, well, this is appropriate.
How about this? This is a nice segue. Six f you,
six fu.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Six fu, I enjoy. Those are two of my favorite letters.
Six F.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
You.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
I'm going to go with six feet under.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
That is absolutely correct. Look at that. All right?
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Oh my god, I am wow, AJ, you're making me
feel good about myself.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Well, that's yes, because I want to contrast my puzzles,
which are accessible with Greg's, so that you like me better.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Yes, with Greg who just has to you know, very insecure,
needs to show up smart, very good. Okay, I'm not
listening because it's the highest rated episode, the most listened
to episode, in the history of the puzzler.
