Speaker 1 (00:01):
The volume. No, oh my god, how could he do that?
Speaker 2 (00:14):
No, don't watch what Charles Darwin.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
The nerves is where it's at.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Welcome everybody back into Nerd Sash as always, I'm Carson Brevan.
Alongside me is Logan Camden, and you already know the drill.
We're gonna be breaking down all of today's action. We've
got three game twos to discuss, and we're gonna start,
Logan with the matchup that I was by far most
excited to watch today, and that ended up being a
(00:44):
real big bummer because we got Game two of Rockets Warriors.
The Rockets bounced back and even the series at a
game of peace. But of course, the biggest story to
come out of this, bigger than anything basketball or schematics related,
is the injury of Jimmy Butler very early in this game.
Right now, all we know is that he has a
(01:05):
pelvic contusion. We do not know the extent of it,
we do not have any sort of timeline. But how
did Jimmy's absence change this game, Logan? And what does
it mean for the Warriors if they have to be
without him going forward in this series?
Speaker 1 (01:20):
I mean, it's massive, it's huge, I would confidently pick
the Rockets to win the series without Jimmy Butler in it.
This was a team that was below five hundred and
twenty five and twenty seven without Jimmy, and with Butler
they were twenty three and seven. I mean, Jimmy changes
both sides of the ball completely for the Golden State Warriors,
(01:41):
and most importantly, he changes the game for Steph Curry
without Jimmy out there. I mean, earlier this year, Steph
was giving you twenty three points on fifty nine and
a half percent tru shooting. Not that they're like horrible
numbers for Steph, but he's way better with Jimmy out
there too, and it just puts a lot of stress
on everybody.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
Else around them.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
I want to if it's cool with you, Carson, I
want to go back to like the play, because I
saw a lot of discourse online talking about that they
thought it was a dirty play, and I didn't like.
I just thought it was circumstantial when coincidental, like he
gets undercut by a men clearly on the rebound, but
I didn't think it was a dirty play, Like I
think he just loses his balance right as Jimmy goes
(02:23):
up for the board and.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Well and he gets a little bit of a push
to the back from Draymond. Nothing dirty from Draymond whatsoever,
just physical basketball, jostling for position, little push you lose
your balance. I agree, I didn't think it was a
dirty play. I thought it was extremely unfortunate.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
Yeah, it's the perfect storm for a disaster like that, unfortunately.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
And I really hope Jimmy's okay, But that's kind of
how I feel about this, Like, I don't think the
Warriors have a chance without Jimmy out there on the floor,
point blank period. The Rockets played really, really tough on
Steph tonight. He was bothered by it. Turnovers, shots that
were off target, you know, really good ball, sure timely
double teams, and I just think they're too limited around
(03:04):
Steph going into the fourth quarter. The second and third
leading scorers for the Warriors in this game where Quinton
Post and Pat Spencer, and it's like all the other
Warriors just become way too important. You know, you're trusting
on bee pods to not have a stinker of a
shooting night. You need Quinton Post to be draining threes
(03:25):
in a big part of your offense.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
You need Moody.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
To be perfect, you need Kuminga. Kamena becomes way more
important in this series. He becomes vitally important now for
the Warriors. If Jimmy is going to be out the
rest of the series, I hope he's not, But yeah, man,
I don't think they have a shot without Jimmy.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
Pretty simple.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
You really cannot overstate the extent to which Jimmy Butler
changes everything for this basketball team. It was fully apparent
in the fact that they went from a thoroughly mediocre
team to an elite team the second that they traded
for him. But like, they literally feel his absence and
they miss him everywhere. They need him out there as
(04:09):
another ball handler. They need him out there as another
shot maker, as another shot creator. They need him out
there as a play finisher off of cuts. They need
him out there as a foul drawer, the only guy
on this entire team who actually consistently gets to the line.
They desperately need him as a connective playmaker in this
motion offense. They need him as a rebounder, and they
(04:30):
need him so badly as an elite defender who has size,
who has versatility, who's going to force a bunch of mistakes,
and they desperately need him for the non Steph Curry minutes. Logan,
when Jimmy Butler has been on the floor for the Warriors,
without Steph Curry, they are a plus ten net team.
(04:51):
He has turned what has been a problem for this
team for years since Kevin Durant left into a complete
non concern because they were killing teams in the minutes
when Jimmy was out there in this game, man, remarkably, like,
that's where a vast majority of the separation takes place.
This was a slog for the Warriors. This was a
(05:12):
tough watch. But in Steph's minutes, they were minus three. Dude,
when Steph came out of the game, when all the
starters came out, they had been minus fourteen in the
seven meaningful minutes they played with Steph off the floor.
You are getting absolutely destroyed, bro. They were playing a
(05:32):
lineup with Pat Spencer, Buddy Healed, Jonathan Kaminga, Draymond and
Quinton Post in the NBA playoffs, Man, Like, Jimmy's absence
just immediately exposes everything that this roster is missing. When
you try to ask these guys to step up and
take on larger roles, and they're missing just about everything
(05:53):
man shot creators. They desperately lack shot makers who are reliable.
They lack size athletes. Like they're just not a good
basketball team without Jimmy Butler, and they were unwatchable for
so much of the year. And then Jimmy came in
and he plugged all these holes. And he wasn't just
a huge injection of talent, which he is. He was
the perfect fit for this team on both sides of
(06:15):
the ball, and without him, all of the deficiencies get exposed.
It's made even worse when Pods is having his flu
game and unfortunately can't quite step up to that challenge
and can't play a ton of minutes. I think it's
made even harder when Steve kerr inexplicably only plays Moses
Moody twenty four minutes in this game, like with how
(06:36):
shallow the talent was.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Can I'd be honest with you, Bro, Yeah, I would
never play Buddy Held ever again. And I think I'm
gonna sell all of my Buddy Held stock immediately, like
I'd get it.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Maybe Kat Spencer played twelve minutes in this game, Bro,
like Buddy when he's not making shots.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
He's little surfing to make shots.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Look, man, I saw somebody in the chats that they
want more Pats minutes. It was a miracle that he
scored those nine points. I having watched more Pat Spencer
than I would like this year. Shout out MLL or
pll legend. I can't remember which one pro lacrosse player.
Stud think he won the Heisman of lacrosse in college
show to speak, National Player of the Year. He is
(07:17):
a horrible athlete. He is normally a really bad finisher.
He made a couple layups in this one, and you
look at a small white boy wearing number sixty one,
and you think that guy has to be able to
shoot right at two K can't shoot.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
He looked like a two K auto generated player.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
Bro.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
He does. Bro.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
It was a miracle that he banked in that three
straight on. He doesn't take on them like he's a competitor. Man,
if he is playing minutes for you in the NBA playoffs,
you are in a very very rare I'm just spot.
I'm saying, guy, your position to be in.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
I'm not saying play Pat Spencer. I'm just I know.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
I'm just saying Jesus, I'm just saying, don't play. I mean, yeah,
it really does put it in perspective. I mean, I
was he can edit. Watching the game, I couldn't.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Believe my eyes. But I just wouldn't play Buddy Heald anymore. Man.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
I think he is such a liability defensively that I
just don't even think is worth it having him on
the court. I would play Moody, I would play Kuminga,
I would play Posts, let him spray threes, Looney b
Pods Like, there's just way many there's way too many
other guys that I still do like more than Buddy,
and I just think I'm out on him.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
But uh yeah, I mean he sucks defensively and he's
a low IQ player, but he can shoot forty percent
from three. And with the dudes who are getting out
on the floor, like I can't even be mad about
him getting sixteen minutes, Like if you're only going to
get thirty eight combined minutes from Moody and Pods on
top of being down Jimmy, Like you're literally playing dudes
who are not in anybody else's playoff rotation. Quentin Post
(08:50):
God bless him makes the four threes but he was
horrible on the glass. He's a defensive target every possession
down and is struggling on those switches. I've been the
one advocating for some Gie Santos minutes. He was bad
in this game. Racks up four quick fouls, most of
them dumb, has a dumb turnover. The turnovers from the
(09:11):
entire team were just killer in this one. Fifteen from
the Duves. It felt like wore because some of them
were so backbreakingly stupid. And this is such like a slow,
grinded out every point is so hard to come by game.
You get such a giving away the ball.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
It's so typical for the Dubs though. Man, I've seen
that game so many times from the Warriors where they're
just off from the jump and they're turning the ball
over and you're right, bro, they were just ugly, like Draymond.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
Throws them all away, yeah, and.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Stern up shit later in the game. Steph has a
really bad throwaway early in this game. Just like ugly turnovers, man,
that you don't expect the Doves to make. But they
have games like this from time to time, man, and
it's really frustrating. And these games were way more frequent
pre Jimmy Butler, you know, because yes, this was not
a good badball team for Jimmy Butler.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
No, they literally need Steph to be an absolute god
every single night. And even then, Man, I just don't
think they have the dudes to win this series without Jimmy.
So hopefully he comes back because I think this is
a roster that is desperately lacking in so many areas
and they don't even know the dudes who they want
to play. But like again, man Moody at least is
(10:23):
a pretty good athlete, a pretty good shooter, a pretty
good defender. I can't understand why he is the dude
to lose minutes like he should be playing thirty six
plus minutes in this game. You need every second of
Moses Moody's skill set that you can get instead, like
they're playing dudes who just have way more glaring flaws.
Like I totally get playing Kaminga as much as Kerr did,
(10:46):
because in Jimmy's absence, you feel like you need the
offensive juice, you feel like you need the athleticism. And
as I talked about last episode, I think a big
reason that Kaminga was getting straight up dnps is he
and jim are so clunky out there together, Like when
those two shared the floor, those lineups had been really bad.
So if Jimmy's gonna play forty two minutes, you just
(11:08):
don't really have opportunities for Kaminga. But obviously when Jimmy
goes out, that slot opens up. I still thought that
this was a pretty bad game from Kaminga. I thought
that his shot selection was poor, he was inefficient, So
it's just brutal. It's just an absolutely brutal watch. And like, truly,
nothing else compares insignificance that happened in this basketball game
(11:30):
to Jimmy Butler going out, because you're taking the Warriors
from being the better team to being a team that
is just significantly outmanned in terms of talent. I did
think the Rockets improved, though by a good bit offensively
in this one. Obviously, the first guy you have to
give credit to is Jalen Green goes off for thirty
eight points in this one after he was three of
(11:52):
fifteen in Game one, and obviously part of this is
just he shot the shit out of the ball. He
goes eight of eighteen from three. He's a very, very
streaky shooter. You cannot count on that game to game.
I did think his process was better though. In the
first game, you got a lot of iso ball from him,
and the matchup that he was trying to attack most
(12:13):
off of switches was Steph, and he just wasn't successful
in that matchup. He wasn't getting a step on him.
He ended up taking some pretty tough shots, and then
you also had a lot of like really out of
control drives from him where the rocket spacing is really rough.
He shot one of six at the rim in that
first game. In game two, there was a lot more
pick and roll where he's getting to his pull up
(12:34):
three if they'll give it to him, and he was
shooting that really well. I also thought that he was
solid as a passer, came out and was looking for
a men off of a couple of cuts early in
this game, and then obviously just shot the hell out
of the basketball. But also I thought like him attacking
Quentin Post off of switches much better process than him
(12:55):
trying to go at Steph, because frankly, Post is just
really really struggling to guard in space, and he can
basically create a good amount of separation for a step
back three whenever he wants it, So I know we're
gonna get some hilarious Jalen Green takes out of this
one like you're already hearing it. On the broadcast, Brian
Anderson called him a superstar that cracked me up. Like
(13:16):
he is an extremely inconsistent offensive player. Literally his previous
four games coming into this one, he was shooting twenty
percent from the field. Over his first five games against
the Warriors this year, he averaged twelve points per game
on thirty nine percent true shooting. So do I trust
him to consistently perform at this level offensively, be at
this level as a shot maker. Absolutely not. But it
(13:37):
was a big turnaround for Game one, and that was
a big part of the Rockets turnaround him being that
much better offensively.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
I'm going to just give him credit.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
I mean, this is an impressive game from Jalen Green,
thirty eight point six assists, Like you said, hit eight
threes in this game. I do want to give the
Rockets collective credit too, for dominating in the areas they
normally do, like we mentioned earlier, disrupting Steph defensively, but
they also crushed on the glass fifty nine to forty six.
They outrebound the Doves by thirteen. There, But the Rockets
(14:08):
aren't that far away with this defensive foundation, man, like
you see it, like if you could get I don't.
I don't think Jaalen's the Rocket's best players still either.
I still think it's a men like even you're right,
I do think we're gonna get some funny Jayalen Green takes.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
And yeah, I mean and Shngoon he's a better case
than he's explosive.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
Man, He's like a stick of dynamite.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Man. Some games he can blow it up positively, and
some games he can blow it up negatively and shoot
you out of some games. But the Rockets aren't that
far away, Like you can see it. If Sengoon can
become way more you know, a little bit more consistent,
if Green cane, You've got a guy on the inside
and outside who can do it.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
And their defensive foundation is great, you know.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
And so I feel like whatever extra you get out
of a men offensively is just icing on top of
the cake for you. So this is a really great
game from Jayleen Green though, And I don't even think
they need to get this out of him. The rest
of the way for them to win this series. If
Jimmy is gonna be out, I think they're just gonna
win in the physicality areas and the Warriors might go
down fast like they need Jimmy every single minute the
(15:12):
rest of this way, and I think this could go
south really fast for them.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
But I didn't think that. I've been really skeptical of
Jayalen Green. Man.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
I was just impressed, like him getting to those shots
off the switches. He played smart, and he just needs
to do it more consistently.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Man.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
We know that Green's capable of doing this. It's he's
just see the super hot or cold man. He's a
really streaky guy.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Man.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
It's frustrating, but you see it there. Man, are you
in it all? Like? I know you laugh at them
calling him a superstar? Like, are you in it all
still like long term? Or are you like fully out?
I know it's funny. This conversation comes up a lot.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
It's one game, man, I mean, I know the Jalen
Green experience. He's got these super high highs of scoring
individual games because he's gonna take a high volume of
pull up threes and sometimes they're gonna followed a good
clip and like, obviously he's hard to stay in front of,
but he's not gonna pronsistently effiicient at the rim. He's
wildly inconsistent as a jump shooter. He's wildly inconsistent as
(16:11):
a decision maker. So like, no, it doesn't change anything. Man,
he played an awesome game. He's capable of that, but
still the same guy.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Yeah, I agree with that fundamentally, But like, long term,
you don't think that Jalen could do this a little
like twenty five a night, let's say, on fifty seven
percent true shooting.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
I guess, I mean, that's not gonna be super impactful
unless he's like improving significantly as a playmaker. There are
a number of guys who can do that in the league. Man,
Cam Thomas literally did that this year.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
But I feel like on the Rockets it would mean
more like that's really what they need. They need a
guy who can do it in volume, and if he
could do it on volume more consistently, like.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
The thing with Jalen Green As until I see consistent
improvement as a shooter, which we have never seen, I'm
not gonna be really moved. Like if he could consist
have the high level pull up three going he'd be
a different basketball player. But there's a reason that he's
sitting at thirty four percent from deep every year and
fifty four percent true shooting every year. It's just not
(17:13):
that impactful, man, just not that good. But shout out,
he had a hell of a game.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
I don't know, I'd like to think that he could
do this more consistently. Man, He's still really young, you
know what I mean. Like, I don't like to think that.
Speaker 4 (17:24):
Green could do this.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
But I'm impressed with the Rockets overall. Man, this is
a great team. Like I don't want to We knew
that this was possible, and the Rockets are winning in
the areas that they normally.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
Winning. And the role players are doing their job too. Man.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
That's what this team has won on is their defense
and their effort and their identity. And other guys made
some shots tonight. Shot out Dylan Brooks. Man. I cringe
when Dylan boks mad make shots just because I don't
like him.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
But he had a good game, made a lot of
tough shots. I mean, they shot way better collectively. As
a big part of it, They're thirty seven percent from deep.
They make fourteen threes they really really could and make
an outside shot in the first game. I also thought
Men had a better offensive game. He didn't play a
ton because he got in the foul trouble early, obviously,
but I thought he was very smart as a cutter.
(18:10):
I thought that he was very solid as a connective playmaker.
I thought he was getting some paint touches either as
a driver or as a cutter, and he was finding
open shooters. Tarry Yeason really really good minutes in this game.
Aggressive on the glass, great and down both of his threes.
I thought Houston was much more productive getting out in
(18:30):
transition in this game, which obviously is an advantage of Theirs.
With their athleticism. They want to be able to get
those easy points. They want to be able to turn
defense into offense, so they were a lot better across
the board. Shanng Goon didn't have his touch going in
this one like he did in Game one, but he
still dominated the glass and he was good as a playmaker.
(18:51):
I like Fred van Vliet shooting the ball less just
because I think he doesn't create advantages like that's the thing.
Jalen Green at least has the potential to get by
Fred van Vliet is just jacking up a lot of
tough jumpers, and he had another terrible shooting game. But
I like them phasing him out of the offense a
little bit more so. No question, the Rockets played a
better game. I also just think like they're playing against
(19:13):
a team that wouldn't be in the play in dude,
Like these Warriors are a twelve sea.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
There's the worst team in the playoff field.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Yeah. Yeah, the Miami Heat better than the Warriors right now.
And that's with the utmost respect to Steph Curry and
everything he's capable of. The team around him is a
team that had to be dramatically improved and was dramatically improved.
And when you take Jimmy Butler out of the equation,
everything flips. So I think they suffer dramatically on both
(19:42):
sides of the ball without him. If you get him
back out there on the floor, I would pick the
Warriors to win this series. If he's not back out there,
I think that they have no chance. I don't think
that they can win three out of five games against
this Rockets team without Jimmy Butler. I mean to be
impressive if they get one. The one thing that I
would maybe audit in terms of the Warriors offense improving,
(20:03):
because they actually shot the ball well in this one,
and they were able to get some open threes against
the zone from Houston, and like wide open threes at
the end of the day, are wide open threes. If
the Warriors with this offensive personnel can manufacture those, that's
a good look for them no matter what. Honestly, kind
of regardless of who's shooting it, even though they have
a lot of questionable shooters. I do wonder if officials
(20:26):
are going to continue to allow this level of physicality
with Steph Curry, cause it's crazy. We knew it was
going to be like this. We knew that the Rockets
were going to be harassing him, hounding him off ball,
super physical with him every second he's on the floor.
It's just wild. He hasn't gotten a single off ball
foul call, and he would get one or two if
(20:46):
he flopped. Man, Steph Curry just doesn't flop, and I
respect that about him, but sometimes I'm like, man, when
they're impeding Yokic's movement, you know, he does that little
giddy up thing that looks ridiculous, but like they're impeding
his movement, it's an off ball foul and that'll help
them get the call. And yokish, by the way, I
still think that's one of the worst whistles in the NBA.
But like Steph also does and it's going to be
(21:08):
difficult for him to get free if they continue to
allow this level of physicality on ball. They're allowing tons
of physicality. I think there have been multiple four point
plays already in this series.
Speaker 4 (21:21):
This game was the four point play.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
Crazy, So I don't know, Like Steph didn't shoot a
free throw until the second half of this game, and
he is dealing with an immense amount of physicality every possession.
I wonder if the refs who across the board have
been allowing more physicality in these playoffs, take a look
at that going forward in this series. I imagine Steve
(21:45):
Kerr and the Warriors are going to complain and there's
a lot of mutual physicality, but specifically with Steph it
is crazy.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
I don't know if it's a playoffs like, because we
noted on last show how much more physical these playoffs
have been in the the refs of let guys play.
I did feel like in Calves heat and in the
Magic Game too. I felt like both of those games
today the whistle was a little bit uh, they blew
the whistle a little bit more late in games, and
(22:15):
so I don't.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
Know everything go in this one, dude. I mean there
was a possession in the first quarter where GP screen
rolled and crumpled to the ground, very obviously pushed from behind,
and they didn't call it. And that was the point
where I was like, Okay, I like more playoff physicality,
but you have to draw the lines. Greedious fouls go uncalled,
(22:39):
and like there's been some instances of the refs doing
that in this series, which is too much. It kind
of reminds me of what we saw with Game two
of Timberwolve's Nuggets last year, right where that is like
crazy physicality, and then there's a correction in Game three
and all of a sudden, the Nuggets look a lot
more comfortable offense. Like officiating can have that sort of
(23:01):
impact on a series. Just what level of physicality are
you going to allow? And the rest have been at
the extreme allowing due outing it one and two, and
I wonder if that changes it all.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
I need Draymond to keep his head in the game, man,
like I just need I don't know, man, I need
him under control. I just get frustrated when him or
Brooks or shit gets contentious.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
Man, it's nasty. I like it being nasty. I expected
this to be honest. I both like in terms of
the actual defense and just keeping things low scoring and
also the vibes. But the biggest thing with Draymond is
just you got to take care of the basketball.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
Man. But I just mean, like the little petty bullshit,
like the like the little shove or the little.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
Like come on man, like just.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
Yeah, I mean to be fair. When he got teed up,
shan Gun did have his arm around his neck. I
don't really know why Shangun was doing all that.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
How he is man, They need him, is what I'm saying. Though, Yes, like.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
They need they need Draymond in this series. And like
that's what I'm saying. The Warriors, everybody, their role changes
drastically now that Jimmy is out.
Speaker 4 (24:05):
Everybody needs to step up. It's all hands on deck.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Like Dre's got to be out there in locked n
B pods needs to shoot. Well, you need Kaminga out
there like Kamingo. I think Moody is probably more important,
but Minga's minutes become really really important on the wing too,
Like it's just all hands on deck at this point. Man,
It's it sucks. I really hope that Jimmy's all right.
He's got an MRI, they said tomorrow, and I'm hoping
(24:29):
we have a positive result from that man, and he
can return in this series.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
I do think as much as you feel his absence offensively,
and you feel it greatly, you feel it just as
much defensively. Warriors were the number one defense in basketball
after the Jimmy trade, they were number one in terms
of forcing steals. Again, you feel his presence on the
glass when he's out there, and you feel the absence
when he's not, And it's just like you're having to
(24:56):
put more potentially exploitable defensive players on the floor. That
starting five is so well composed to have just the
right amount of shooting alongside Steph and Jimmy, to have
the right defensive personnel, to have enough collective basketball IQ
in passing, like that group really really works. And you
take Jimmy out of it and it all just kind
(25:18):
of crumbles. And now you're trying to figure out that
fifth spot and it's not kaminga. He doesn't have the
basketball like you. He doesn't have the decision making SNACKI Santos.
He doesn't look ready for the moment if it's looney,
I mean just obviously good on the glass, but he's
a potential target defensively and rough for the spacing. There's
(25:38):
just not somebody else who fills that Jimmy Butler role.
I mean there's numerous roles that he fills that nobody else.
Speaker 1 (25:42):
Is such a special player, man, you just don't. You
just don't replace a guy like.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
That, No, you don't. So really really rough for the Warriors.
If he's gonna be out, obviously hope that he is
able to make a swift recovery and we can have
the series that we all signed up for, because I
think that is a super fun series. But if I
have to watch three, four or five more games of
this Warriors team without Jimmy Butler, man, I might just
(26:07):
claw my eyes out. I mean, like truly, I thought
we had escaped that. I watched fifty games of that already.
I said something has to be done about this, And
I didn't sign up for a playoff series of it
because that's just torture be a hell of a lot.
Better to not make the playoffs and have to watch
this team against an actual playoff team then to just
not see it and be spared. That's suffering. So we'll
(26:32):
see the Jimmy update is going to be huge. All right,

Speaker 2 (28:47):
You know it was a little better equipped to be
down one of their best players Logan. In fact, their
best player the Boston Celtics, who did not have Jason
Tatum first playoff game he has missed in his entire
career with the wrist injury. It's apparently basically just a
pain management thing. So when he feels comfortable to get
back out there, he will, And obviously the Celtics did
(29:10):
not need him in this one. They pick up a
win against the Magic anyways to go up two. Oh
what did you take away from their performance without Tatum?
Speaker 1 (29:18):
I mean, I'm not surprised that the Celtics were able
to outduel Orlando. I'm so disappointed in Orlando's offense and
their lack of improvement from last season. Carson, like Poolo's
the man. I've loved what we've seen from Polo man.
I'm so confident in him now. Long term, I think
he's a stud and I think he's gonna keep getting better,
(29:41):
Like the more he continues to weaponize his athletic and
physical traits and his strength and stuff like that, like
the better he's going to be. And also, I mean,
if Orlando can get him. I could talk about Polo
all day, like in the potential, but like if they
could get him a star guard to pair him with,
and you could, you know, weaponize him as a role
man and as a pick and popp and manufacture. That
(30:02):
is kind of what's crazy about long term about like
Paolo's outlook as a player, because he could have this
deadly combination as an on ball and you know that's
where you see maximized him.
Speaker 4 (30:11):
But Paolo's great.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
I'm disappointed that Franz Wagner shot from behind the arc?
Has it returned to where it needs to be? That's
been a long term story. It's strange because I think
Franz has good touch, but he just can't shoot from
behind the arc.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
I don't know if you saw the tweet I put
out today, He's the third player ever to have a
season shooting eighty seven percent or better from the line
and shooting under thirty percent from three while taking five
plus three times per game.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
Who else is on that list?
Speaker 2 (30:41):
Michael Adams, I'm glad you ask, and Jordan Clarkson. It's
so what's crazy is last year, Franz was better than
eighty five percent from the line, and he was twenty
eight percent from three. So like, the touch is obvious
man from the line, but all of his finishes, I
mean the touch is one hundred percent, but the three
is broken right now. It's been broken for a two years.
(31:04):
And that's a problem.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
It's yeah, it is a problem, and so that's an issue. KCP,
who was the big addition to this Orlando team in
the offseason, right we were We talked about all off
season about what a big acquisition that was and how
important we thought it was to their playoff aspirations and
them doing something going to the ECF, winning the playoff series,
(31:25):
you know, whatever it is. And he's a great defender still,
but he goes oh a six in this game. It's
just so frustrating, Like Orlando is so desperate to get anything.
The defense isn't far off, and I like what they
can do defensively every single night. They're disruptive, they crash
the glass hard, they play hard. Yeah they're great, but
it's like Paolo versus the world offensively, and I feel
(31:49):
for the guy. But most importantly, more than anything else,
it's the inconsistency and the lack of spacing that this
team has. And it's Fronds, it's KCP. It's a lot
of guys down this roster. It I mean, that's the
key area that they need to improve.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
Man.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
They need they need shooting to me desperately, man, And
they need talent in the backcourt. I know that Jalen
Suggs is out, and I think Suggs is a really
good three and D guy like him and KCP. I
look at is in similar archetypes. I think Suggs is
a little bit better with what he can give you
as a ball handler and in transition and playmaking wise.
(32:23):
But they just need offensive creation, man. And until they
get that piece, dude, I don't see how my long
term out look for Orlando really really changes. That seems
to be the missing puzzle piece. And it's just disappointing
that you can't win one with Tatum out. This is
a game that you need to capitalize on that you
gotta win, man, this is a really vital and important
(32:45):
game in the series, and they just can't capitalize on it.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
I want to be clear, it's Paolo and Franz versus
the world, man, Like those.
Speaker 4 (32:54):
I Franz had a good game, Like he had a
good game, but it's.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
Not a really good game and easy he's the outside
shot is just frustrating.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Man, I know, but he's literally one of the best
drivers and finishers in basketball. So he still gave you
an efficient twenty five in this game. He had twenty
three in game one. He was third in the NBA
among non point guards on points per game off drives
in this one. And like his just ability to be
so shifty and then get into the lane and use
(33:24):
his length, use his offhand to shield himself from rim protectors,
and then just this incredible touch finishing. He is so
so nasty there. And he's a versatile defender, and he's
a really really good passer with elite size. Like he
is a consistent three ball away from being an all
NBA caliber player right now. Like literally, if you just
(33:45):
plugged in thirty six percent three point shot better as
a pull up guy, better off the catch, he would
be like a top twenty ish player in basketball. He's
such a great, do it all wing. But like there's
a big gap right now between who he is as
a three point shooter and a reliable, consistent, solid thirty
six percent guy, because last year he's twenty eight percent,
(34:07):
and he's bad in the playoffs, and he's bad in
the Olympics, and he's bad this regular season. And I
think he's two of thirteen from deep now in these playoffs.
So he's great as a creator, he's awesome. He's an
all star caliber dude, like he'll make all star teams
in the future. But the three point shot does have
to be better. And then I thought Paolo was impressive
again as well. He was aggressive and physical versus mismatches.
(34:31):
Shot making was pretty good. Playmaking was good. Left a
couple points at the line. But like those two dudes,
I mean, they combined for fifty seven points in this game,
and they both shoot around fifty percent from the field.
It's just their offensive supporting cast is an abomination. We
saw it in game one, we saw it again in
game two, and I legitimately think like they need to
(34:54):
basically tear down their roster around them and just restart.
And luckily these guys are young and they but like
it's a disgrace offensively.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
There's a lot of pieces I would move in the
rotation and needs to make.
Speaker 2 (35:07):
I would literally move anybody. I would move Jalen Suggs
in a heartbeat, dude. And I think he's a really
good basketball player. Oh, I would move thirty five million
dollars a year.
Speaker 4 (35:15):
I don't know, thirty year. I like Sugs a lot, dude.
I like Sugs a lot.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
I like Sugs. Why would you moves nearly as well
this year as he was last year? Whatever you're gonna
ask me. The reason is because Suggs is an actual asset.
Cacp's not an asset making twenty two million dollars a year.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
I would move KCP first. But I mean I think
that Paolo is out a lot of the year too.
I mean he would manufacture looks for Suggs on the
drives like I. And the thing about Franz is like,
I get that Franz has giving you offense. It's just
so problematic when there are multiple non floor spacers on
the floor, and it's like, well, when you can cheat
off a window carter, when you can cheat off of Franz,
when you can cheat off other guys, it just makes
(35:53):
it that much harder on on a guy like Paolo.
But Franz is a a really good look at it.
The embodiment of the perfect modern wing. Like not perfect,
but he can just do everything for you. And it's
such an important archetype and valuable archetype in basketball. And
if he does get that three ball, I think he
is an all star caliber player.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
But I kind I.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
Fundamentally agree with you, though on your point, I wouldn't
be afraid to move a lot of guys in Orlando.
Speaker 4 (36:21):
If that's so, I just wouldn't want to move off Sugs.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
Let me clear what I'm talking about. If Devin Booker
is available and I have to include.
Speaker 4 (36:30):
Okay, I mean that's different. Though that's different.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
That's what I mean. I'm not saying, okay, okay, parts,
I'm saying they need a star offensive guard because I'm
for that.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
I wouldn't I wouldn't be afraid to make a move
like that if if you're holding on to Paolo and Franz.
Speaker 4 (36:47):
Do it.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
If you can make that big I thought you were
talking about a smaller fish.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
No, I'm not trading Sugs to trade Sugs. I'm saying
right now, you have fifty six million dollars tied up
in CACP and Sugs, which is an awesome defensive back
court but man Orlanta, you don't need to be any
better defensively. Man, you're the number two defense in basketball
this year. You're the number twenty seven offense. That's where
you need to dramatically improve. And I just don't think
(37:13):
you can be investing those sort of resources in the
backcourt with players who are so limited offensively. Casep just
has to shoot better, man. It was a bad shooting
year for him, end to end, and this is a
really bad shooting game. And they just unfortunately wasted a
draft pick on Jet Howard, which I hated at the time.
I wanted them to take Grady Dick. That would have
(37:34):
been a way better pick. And Anthony Black, who I
liked as a prospect, who I think has shown flashes,
needs to get a lot better offensively, man, because obviously
he's not somebody you can rely on as a creator.
The shot is just not even remotely close, and I
don't know if it'll get there. I hope it does.
But the guard play is so bad. They're starting Corey
(37:58):
Joseph Man and they've been starting Court Joseph for a while,
like even with Suggs out. That kind of tells you
all that you need to know, so I would move
whoever to get that actual star offensive guard. And they
need Wendell Carter Junior to play like he played today, man,
because this was such a disappointing season from him, so
bad as a shooter, and he was good as a
shooter in this one. He was a really productive offensive player.
(38:20):
But you're set on the wings, you need to be
really solid at center, and you need to be really
solid in your backcourt. And one defensive guard with one
creator in the back court is great. Right now, They're
just way too defensively slanted in terms of personnel. They're
the worst three point shooting team we've seen in almost
a decade. They have no other creators and it just
sucks because I feel like Poolo and Franz are both
(38:42):
doing their jobs and they're still not all that close.
This game was competitive, but like the Celtics don't have
their best player and still they're clearly the better team.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
And to end, yeah, and shout out Boston for doing
this without Tatum.
Speaker 4 (39:00):
I mean that's the other big story.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
Like I don't want to ignore that Derek White is unbelievable. Man,
That dude on pull up threes this year is unbelieves
so blistering hot man, like Derek White's the man.
Speaker 4 (39:12):
I thought Jayleen Brown had his moments in this game.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
I thought he also had some really ugly moments in
this game too.
Speaker 2 (39:19):
He's pretty damn good, dude.
Speaker 4 (39:21):
Yeah, he was pretty damn good.
Speaker 2 (39:24):
We might not beat the Jalen Brown hater allegations if
we don't give him credit for this one. Man, he
was pretty awesome.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
Yeah, he had a good game.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
The Celtics collective is just so great, Like, I know
what I'm getting. The Celtics are so damn reliable.
Speaker 4 (39:35):
Man. They give it to you every night.
Speaker 1 (39:39):
Man, I'm just not surprised. I don't think Orlando is
gonna get a game in this series. If they can't
win one with Tatum out, I think this is as
good as over.
Speaker 4 (39:47):
Thanks for coming, Orlando. It sucks, man.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
Orlando just feels like they're so close, but they're so
far away, dude, Like they.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
Doesn't feel like they're that close. Well, I just the
worst we've seen in the playoffs in years like this
is but like, what I mean is one Knicks level.
Speaker 1 (40:07):
What I mean is they're so firmly away from I mean,
I guess you could characterize that as no man's land too,
But like, they're so far away from the number one
pick conversation because they've got Polo and Franz and they've
got that solidified their front court and they've got that
figured out. But they're so far away from championship contention.
(40:27):
So I mean, they're in the middle.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
But yeah, one big move, one big move, and I
feel really good about Orlando.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
It just sucks because that piece is the most valuable asset,
you know, in basketball, and it's so hard to find,
like a Trey Young.
Speaker 4 (40:41):
But you know, I don't if I'm.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
Atlanta, I'm not ready to you know, I'm not quick
to move off of Trede. Like, if Trey doesn't want
to go, why would I give up on Trey Young?
So it's just frustrating. Man, Orlando needs that elevating piece
that is going to take them from here to you know,
to real contention.
Speaker 2 (40:58):
Yeah, absolutely they do. But the Celtics are a tough
team to deal with even when they don't have Jason Tatum.
They're a plus eight net team with Jason Tatum off
the floor this year, and that's not a Tatum thing.
I know some people are gonna make this a Tatum
is overrated. They're still an elite basketball team without him.
Jason Tatum is a phenomenal basketball player. The Celtics just
(41:19):
also happening be one of the most talented teams that
we've ever seen, and they have a guy like Jayalen
Brown who can step up and was fantastic in this game.
Super aggressive, getting downhill, insanely hot as a jump shooter.
I mean some of the times he was attacking switches
and I was like, I'd like to see you try
to get downhill here, or maybe I'd like to see
(41:39):
you try to move the ball, but he was just
rain and pull up threes on people. So I think
it's big for him to have a performance like that,
just because his last ten games before this, he was
in and out of the lineup down the stretch of
the regular season, he was on the minutes restriction, He's
had the knee issues, he wasn't very good in Game one.
I think it's very nice to see him rise to
the occasion and play such a great game in Tatum's absence.
(42:01):
I think it's good for his comfort and his confidence.
And I thought christophs Ferzingez had a very impactful game
as well. He stepped up certainly compared to Game one
because the Celtics entire big three was terrible. In Game one.
They had thirty eight points on forty four shots. It's
just Derek White was too good, Peyton Frichard was too good.
But KP protected the rim really well. He was great
(42:22):
on the glass. Five offensive rebounds in this one, ate
up free throws, fourteen free throw attempts. He posted up
or isolated a mismatch six times. He got fouled on
three of those plays. So like, he's just so hard
to deal with on an island without fouling with his size,
with his physicality, and I thought he got great looks
(42:43):
versus those mismatches even when he missed. He just really
didn't shoot the ball well in this one. He goes
over from deep. The mid range was not as butter
as it usually is. I still think it's big for
him to impact the game multiple ways and just get
to much better shots than last game, because last game
it was like the bigs regarding him well. When he's
(43:04):
trying to go at switches, it's like pawlow, which is
not a favorable matchup for him. Pollo six', ten two, sixty,
man you can't play bully ball on that. Matchup in this,
one he was actually able to target the, guards AND i,
thought getting to his, looks he's just got to start making.
Him but, overall those two played pretty darn. Well AND
i thought The celtics showed a ton of double big,
(43:27):
LOOKS i, mean basically mixing and matching all their three,
guys and they dominated on the, glass playing so. Big
they had thirteen offensive boards and even on an off
shooting night from, them, like there's still plus fifteen points
from beyond the arc compared To, orlando which is largely
An orlando thing being as bad as they are, shooting
but also A boston, thing like they're always going to
(43:47):
get their shots. Up she was most shot.
Speaker 1 (43:49):
Quality they shoot the most threes per game of any
team IN nba.
Speaker 2 (43:53):
History, yeah and it's not even. Close it's not even.
Close SO i Thought Peyton prichard was really good in this.
One he, IS i would, say about eight thousand times
better offensively than any magic, guard like, legitimately.
Speaker 4 (44:06):
Yeah, ACTUALLY i mean that's a great. Point that's a great.
Speaker 2 (44:08):
Point he, is, Dude that's what Makes Ty jerome SAYING
i would start for your legit allow you saw that
you Can, yeah no, Shit, bro.
Speaker 4 (44:18):
You can quote.
Speaker 1 (44:19):
Me. Bruh you could Call mac McClung up who was
on The magic G league. Squad give him, Burn, Bro
mac McClung is better than some of the guys that
are not playing in The magic. Rotation i'm so dead
serious right, Now, Bro i'm so dead.
Speaker 4 (44:33):
SERIOUS i know you.
Speaker 2 (44:34):
ARE i, Mean mac McClung is probably not the first
call THAT i would, make BUT i guess anybody you
might as well try.
Speaker 4 (44:40):
HIM i, mean there's just so Dv. BRO i don't get, it,
MAN i don't get. It there's gotta be, somebody there's gotta.
Be we're Getting.
Speaker 1 (44:48):
Corey Joseph Caleb houston minutes in The big twenty twenty.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
Five. Man, yeah it's, rough But Peyton pritchard man shifty
as hell getting by, people a little trouble finishing against
all the length in the, paint but, like still really
good back to back games from him. Overall and then
it's not like it's a great game offensively From white
Or horford Or, drew but they all just do their
job and they're so so so so so so so
(45:14):
so so so much better than the corresponding players on The.
Magic so it's no surprise that The celtics are way
better Than orlando even Without. TATUM i literally tweeted before this,
GAME i still think it's a double Digit boston. Win
they just have so much more aggregate offensive. Skill they're
just that good And orlando's just that. Flawed so hoping
(45:37):
that we see some big changes for The magic in the.
OFFSEASON i do think that they are. COOKED i do
think that this is going to be a, sweep AS i.
Predicted let's talk about the top seed in The Eastern.
Conference logan taking a two to zero Lead Calves. Heat
this game ended up being really close down the. Stretch
it was weird, because, like The calves led the entire,
(45:57):
game but it was kind of a back and forth
of them pulling apart and then The heat bringing it.
Back what did you take away from this win From? Cleveland, no,
dude it was really.
Speaker 1 (46:06):
WEIRD i was surprised The cavs didn't keep their foot
on the, gas Like cleveland felt really. Comfortable this felt
like a regular season game for The calves, almost And
miami was just.
Speaker 4 (46:18):
Lingering like it was.
Speaker 1 (46:19):
Weird The calves had a six point lead with like
six minutes, left and they were closing Without mitchell And,
mobley and, LIKE i understand the idea of like giving
them a, break BUT i was, LIKE.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
I thought the same.
Speaker 4 (46:30):
THING i was, LIKE i don't, know this is.
Speaker 1 (46:31):
A playoff, Game like there's kind of no need for for.
Speaker 4 (46:35):
Them not to be out.
Speaker 1 (46:36):
There but, Yeah Donovan mitchell is the reason they pull.
Away he gives you seventeen fourth quarter points on six
of nine shooting from the field and four or four from.
Deep the Other calves in the fourth quarter they end
up giving you ten free, throws but they shoot one
of seven from the, Field and that was really the,
question like can The cavs offense just pull away here
at the, end because they, Dominated like that second quarter
(46:58):
stretch From cleveland was super impressive where they were just
draining three after. Three they made eleven threes in the second,
quarter eleven of, sixteen and they won that quarter forty
three to twenty.
Speaker 4 (47:09):
Seven through two games.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
In this, Series cleveland's plus thirty three from behind the,
arc and that's such a big advantage for. Them you,
know this was the number one offense in basketball during
the regular season AND i just don't think The heat
have enough punch, offensively, MAN i think that's what's gonna get.
Speaker 4 (47:28):
Them BUT i.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
Thought Evan mobley was more aggressive For. CLEVELAND i really
really like That Darius garland has, spurts. MAN i Want
garland to do it more, consistently, Too LIKE i want
him to make his, impact you, know really felt. More
but he's got really good stretches in this. Game he's so, quick,
Man garland's one of the quickest cards in the. League,
Bro he's like a just a blurb. Man sometimes you'll
(47:53):
just look and you'll miss. Him like some of the
PASSES i won't even. See Like garland's hard to keep
up with even on YOUR. Tv, MAN i can't imagine
what he's like.
Speaker 2 (48:00):
Guarding could you imagine actually guarding him if he hit
me with that hesitation he.
Speaker 4 (48:07):
Himself, Yes, bro he's so.
Speaker 2 (48:09):
NASTY i THINK i said this the other. Day but
like top three handle in my, opinion best, handle top three,
shooter and an elite passer with elite, quickness like the
things That Darius garland is great. At he is so
so great at top three. Floater, yeah, bro nasty.
Speaker 1 (48:25):
Dude he would just freeze. ME i would be frozen
in time and he's already. Gone he's at the basket
hitting the, layup And i'm stuck. Recovering but, Yeah cleveland's
offense is, elite, man AND i think it's really encouraging
that second quarter stretch we saw and what Ty jerome.
Speaker 4 (48:42):
Has been able to give. You this isn't the best game.
Speaker 1 (48:44):
From, Him like his shot was a little bit, off
BUT i still thought he was productive off the.
Speaker 4 (48:47):
Bench and this offense is the leap.
Speaker 1 (48:50):
Man when they get, going it's something special and it's
A it's a secret weapon in TODAY'S nba man that
ability offensively to get up a bunch of, threes to
make a lot of them and just knock your opponent
out of. Games it's like daring, them all, right, man
keep up with, me Like i'm gonna we're gonna run
the sco shop real.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
Quick and of thirteen from three in the second.
Speaker 1 (49:09):
Quarter eleven of, sixteen, jeez they can't do at the
end like they just Went they went. Crazy and it's
such a secret weapon for this. TEAM i don't Think
miami's gonna be able to keep. Up Tyler herrow had
a really good. Game he's had a really good series
up to this, point twenty seven on over sixty percent true.
Shooting but you, Know bam gives you eleven points on
(49:31):
three and. NINE i get he gives you nine. Assists
you need more production as a. Score wiggins gives you
ten points on three to ten, shooting And jovich's, back
but he gives you eleven points and he shoots one
of eight from behind the Art god bless, hey What
highsmith shooting five to six from deep in this. Game
but they just don't have the punch. Offensively they don't
have the. Shooting and that's the haunt That miami needs
(49:51):
to get, over.
Speaker 4 (49:52):
Man and that's the one thing THAT i, don't. DUDE
i don't want.
Speaker 1 (49:54):
To Disrespect miami at. ALL i Think miami is such
a good, team AND i try to stress, that Like
miami's not, Trash Like cleveland is just an excellent basketball.
Team and this was crazy to, me, dude about them
closing with that. Lineup it feels Like cleveland is just
like playing. Around like WHEN i, say it felt like
a regular season. Game Kenny atkinson was so comfortable he, said,
(50:18):
yeah you know, what.
Speaker 4 (50:19):
We just gonna.
Speaker 1 (50:20):
Leave i'm gonna just leave some of the b team
in there for a little bit and we're gonna let,
them let them. Ride and they still they still win
this game. Convincingly like a credit To. MIAMI i think
they cut it to a two point. Game they went
on a thirteen to two, run But cleveland didn't feel
uncomfortable at any point in this basketball.
Speaker 2 (50:37):
GAME i very much agree with The calves sort of
nonchalance through a couple of, Games like if you even
compare it To, Boston Jalen brown played forty two, Minutes
Derek white played thirty eight. Minutes you look at The
calves and it's Like Jared allen plays thirty, One garland
plays thirty, Two mobley plays thirty, Four Donnal mitchell plays thirty.
(50:58):
Six but like they're pretty close to their normal. Rotations
we've gotten twenty Plus Sam merril minutes in both of these.
GAMES i don't think they've been as buttoned up defensively
AS i want to see. Them and, like this is
not Something i'm concerned about with The. Calves it's just
Something i'm monitoring for a team that was very much
on cruise control for the last fifteen games of the,
(51:19):
season especially because they had already locked up the one
seed and like took their foot off the gas a
little bit, defensively just took their foot off the gas a. Bit,
OVERALL i want to see them sharp and in that
peak playoff, Form but you've got Signature Donovan mitchell in
the last few minutes of this. Game this is, why
as much AS i Love Evan mobley And, LOGAN i
(51:40):
adore him oh so. Much like in a playoff, Environment
mitchell is still their best. Player and it's because of
just this special takeover scoring. Ability when a guy can
give you ten points out of twelve for The calves
in a couple minute stretch like, that when he can
get that red hot as a pull up shooter and
obviously has so much downhill scoring force as, well that
(52:00):
ability to take over is just still one of the
most valuable things that you can do in a high
stakes basketball. Game he does at on a high. Level
But mobley was also awesome in this, one AND i
think the most significant thing that The calves can take
away from this game is not Just mobley's overall aggression
as a SCORE i, MEAN i loved his, aggression attacking and.
(52:24):
Transition first bucket of the game For cleveland as him
going coast to, coast taking a bump from Koel war
and dunking that. Bitch that fired me. Up but more,
significant he's shooting threes against. Closeouts man puts up six
threes in this, game makes three of. Them that's huge
for him to not be deterred from his three point.
Shot that's going to be big because they need him
(52:45):
to be consistently comfortable as a floor. Spacer SO i
thought that he was great in this, one and The
caves just have a lot more offensive. Firepower like we
said after game, one shout out hero hell of an
offensive showing rough defensive series for. Him he's getting targeted pretty,
relentlessly and that's just a limitation of his, obviously but
(53:06):
he And Daveian mitchell like two really really good games
from him shooting the ball while still finishing, well getting
dribble penetration creating for. OTHERS i, Agree wiggins And bam
are really the guys who leave you short. Offensively in this.
One five out of nine field goal attempts coming from
three For bam not WHAT i want to, see especially
(53:27):
when in the first, game LIKE i, thought he was
really getting to some good looks from the mid. RANGE
i liked his aggression as a scorer in isolation and
when he's going as a shot, maker there's not really
anything you can do about. It BUT i much prefer
him taking those mid range looks than a handful of.
Threes and Then wiggins just wasn't really productive in this.
One i'm happy to See yovis back out, there though
(53:48):
didn't have his best game.
Speaker 1 (53:49):
OBVIOUSLY i Think jovich is gonna be, good. MAN i
mean you got to remember, too, Dude yovic is super super,
young like this Guy's, yeah this guy's fresh. OUT i
think it's a bad, shooting BUT i like how he
impacts the game, overall good, rebounder good, size LIKE i.
SEE i don't, know, man there's a lot of really
talented guys that archetype didn't, exist, Man these skilled big
(54:10):
wings that can be impactful defensively and. Offensively it's, UH
i don't. Know it's an interesting, archetype. MAN i Think
jovic is gonna be, solid but he's got to shoot
the ball a little bit. Better But i'm happy to, say,
dude the heat just nerves short on on good basketball
players right. Now they need they need everybody they can.
Speaker 2 (54:26):
Get, yeah for, Sure calves very very good basketball, team
taking care of. Business shout Out Max. Strus he was
yanging them in that second. Quarter And calves can look
better than they did in this one on for, sure defensive.
Ceiling AND i think they've kind of let the heat
hang around in both of these, games and then somebody
stepped up to put them away in. Both in this
(54:48):
game it Was Donovan, mitchell the lesser known young, player
and in the first one it was global Superstar Ti,
jerome basketball legend and Surefire hall Of Famer Ti jerome
taking care of. Business appreciate you guys tuning. In hope
you enjoyed this. One not the most eventful, night, obviously
The jimmy injury is a, bummer but we appreciate you
tuning in, nonetheless and hope that you enjoyed the basketball.
