(00:51):
I know and if you have asked Dawn, what happened?
What happened with you at kjl A, And I'm not
gonna hold you. I have been trying to put this
off for so long because I didn't know what to say,
how to say I want to said, However, I just
did not know. I kept telling you everything everywhere, all

(01:11):
at once, and you probably thought I was joking. But
you see what I'm saying. Here's what I know, here's
what I can say. This is my truth. Kjlash decided
to part ways. Yeah, just like that. I wish there
was more I could add to it other than that.
Now what does that mean for me? Well, I'm gonna

(01:34):
keep doing what I've been doing, doing the same damn
thing that got me to that point and the same
thing that's gonna get me to elevate from that point.
How do I fail? I don't know what doing? What
you mean? You don't know my emotions are everywhere? You know,
on one instance, I'm hurt, I feel confused. Then on

(02:01):
the other instance, I'm walking in gratitude. I've said this before.
We're here for a good time, not a long time.
So let's make a count. And although I didn't even
hit six months at KJLH, I feel like I made
a count. And I know that I made account because
of the countless responses that have came in. And it's

(02:23):
not just oh don I miss you where you are.
It's door you changed my life. It's door listening to
you inspired me to keep going. I remember, um my

(02:48):
last day on air at KJLH. It was that Thursday,
and it was tell it's something ain't good Thursdays. And
you know it's that time where I had established that
on Thursdays we talk nothing but good news. I only

(03:10):
want to hear good news. If you got something else negative,
you want to say, report, I would always tell the
family where you're gonna have to find another station another
day part something, because that's not what we're doing on
front page. We're doing day I say, i'd have to say.
I had a call to call in Miss Lucenta, Hey,
miss Lucinda, hopefully you're listening to this or somebody that
does know Miss Lucinda. I know that I'm according this

(03:32):
down her round. But Miss Luciender called in and she said, Dawn,
before you got here, I was in depression. I almost
think that she said, and I don't want to put
these words in her mouth, but I feel like she
said that she wasn't interested or didn't have the motive
to keep going, just wasn't feeling like I want to
get up. And she said, ever since I listened to you,

(03:57):
you gave me more inspiration. You know, or if it's
somebody telling me they're on the East Coast and they're like, Dawn,
I used to get up extra early to hear you,
oh a listener DM me and say that they were disabled.
It was like, don you know sometimes I don't feel

(04:18):
like getting nothing doing for my kids and my family
because I felt discouraged. But I know when I turned
you on, you give me the inspiration to keep calling.
And then my god, I got a message on linked
to him and they said you are the best thing

(04:39):
to our people since Martin Luther King. Hey catch it.
It was sided something because you know, one thing I
probably myself on saying, is that one thing I know
how to do is speak. That's what I do. I
don't care. Boy, room, you put me in what topic is?

(05:04):
So how much you would have been? I bet my life.
I bet my life because I know how to speak.
That's what I do. That's what I do. I don't care,
and that's what I do. I told you that's what
I do. And to get affirmed from the grace of

(05:24):
a Martin Luther King junior and they say, hey, darn,
that's what you are to our people. They said, thank you,
thank you, thank you. So you asked me, how do
I feel sis, big brother, big Sis, little brother, little
sis bro. I don't know. I didn't realize the stretch
and the reach that I had as far as when

(05:45):
I say that, not so much as just what kjlh offer,
but myself, how I can authentically be done and still
connect with people. And that's one thing I appreciate for
mister May. And mister May is um the executive over
at Premiere Networks. I remember when I started with the
Steve Harvey Morning Show and he introduced himself. He said,

(06:09):
I'm the eyes and eagers of Jennifer Lime Grouper, and
Jennifer Lime Grouper is the executive vice president at Premiere
Networks who granted me the opportunity type my podcast. She
even gave me an opportunity to have a weekend segment

(06:30):
on the Steve Harvey Morning Show entitle What's Happening, And
I told mister me that's it as something before I left,

(06:50):
because he reached out, he had hurt. I didn't know
if I had made the real announcement to everybody. Of course,
I told mister Harvey and the whole team personally and
emailed other people, but I hadn't had a chance to
directly him, and I remember an email because I saw
Jennifer was speaking on a panel. I don't know if
it was All Accesses. They were doing a lot of
things online, you know, the world Wide Radio Summit. Mind you,

(07:12):
it was that summit a couple of years before that
that Julie Talbit is the president of Premiere Networks. And
I remember there was this panel that the world Wide
Radio Summit and they were speaking about first chairs as

(07:36):
far as women in radio, and I would always wonder,
I'm like, well where the women at? Where the first
chairs when it comes to the women? And I stood
up and asked the question and I said, you know, basically,
you know, how do you seek out and finding those
mentors and just showing interest about me wanting to have

(07:59):
first chair and never forget it. When that panel was over,
and I don't know if Julie she probably had a
separate panel. I don't know. All I know is that
it was that day and I had just walked back
into the conference room Mary where they did the panel discussions,

(08:19):
and Julie was walking out. She was just passing up,
you know, the refreshments where they had the water the coffee.
She looked at me, she pointed, she said, you're star

(08:41):
So when you asked me, how do I feel, it's
everything everywhere, all at once, I simply don't know, because
I'm just gonna stand like I've been standing on the promise.
You gotta know who and what you are, and more
importantly who you are and see, I say this, don't
let what you see make you forget what God said,

(09:04):
because if God said exceedingly and abundantly far more than
what you could ever imagine, what you see in this
materialized room can't even touch the vision of God God
because it's beyond all this. And see, we get in
a way trying to make sense of it, but we
all to just walking gratitude because everything gets working for
our greater good. Yes, I do feel some type of

(09:26):
way that I'm not you know on the air, I
went in my entire life for it and to know that, well,
I would say, you know, a success, because I was me.
I was me. I can hardly walk away. And I
can't say that there was anything that I wish that
I would have said that I did not say that

(09:47):
I did not do because I did it and a
family specifically my listeners on KJLH on front page. Thank you,
Thank you for making room for men, thank you for
acknowledging the space that I take up and allowing it

(10:07):
to shed light over you because you can't let you
see make you forget what God said. It's the same
guy right now is the same guy back then. And
what I mean by that, it's like doing. You have
survived one hundred percent of the worst day is your life.
And I really don't even consider this as a worst day.
It's more like a shocking moment. And I say that,

(10:29):
you say, we're doing. How do you feel? Because what
my notes were is that maybe were great. We love
what you did, will give you stellar review, recommendation, whatever
it is that you need. And yet I'm still wondering,
well what happened? What I realized is that we ain't

(10:49):
got no business in God's business. We're just here to
live out the plan because everything is working for how
great are good? God promised exceededly in abundantly, far more
than what you could ever imagine in while I've seen
some comments and you know, not so good about different people.
And I wouldn't say to blame anyone. We can't fault

(11:11):
for what God is doing. Because whatever he says, it's
about to prepare. Because if you think, if you think
I'm about to stop, I'm going harder. Huh. Because if
I can ask my heart Bosster fired me at else Song,

(11:33):
and I can get a TV show or be on
the TV show one of the people that I'm most
respectfully admired, queenland Tifa matter, then your residence meant your
best friend to then have an opportunity to work with
Steve Harvey Morning Show. Can leave that and then I
get something with kJ LA. Show God what you about

(11:55):
to do next? Because if a president up a network
that's recognized world, why can't look at me and say
that you a star? You better catch it because I'm
coming to shine and see what I'm about to say.
I'm about to do some things that this world ain't

(12:16):
never seen before. You think I'm playing, don't believe me.
Just watch you know I saw this video on Instagram.
This is before all of this had happened. And Kevin Gates,
you know, many may have a mixed reviews. It is
what it is. Eat the meat, spit out the bones,
le end and the yang. Okay, he may mention he

(12:38):
said something like, you'll notice when it's time to elevate,
everything starts me and stripped away from you everything that
you could have held onto, what was familiar starts to leave,
whether it be people's situation of circumstances, that's because it's
time to elephate. And I thought about that before this
is before Jeremiah resigned, of course before every thing with Kjlah,

(13:02):
and I was just thinking like, ooh, because I have
been feeling like everything, you know, just things have been
getting spicy or you know, unseuddenly, which everything that I've shared,
whether it was you know, at the time when I
had to produce her and you know, she had to
do her departure or was supposed to be temporary, but
you know, ended up not coming back. And I feel

(13:23):
as though I understand what Kevin Gates was saying, because
you gotta pack light and things that may have been
weighing down, maybe in the sense of comfort, familiarity gotta
go because you're asking to do things that you've never
done before, to seek heights that you've never been before.
What that means that you're going to have to change

(13:44):
your environment. Don't be trying to go into a next
situation trying to be the same thing because you ask
God for a new thing. Huh. So if we're asking
for a new thing, how can you expect the old
thing for it to work out exactly how it did
once before. We gotta shake things up. So when you
ask me how do I feel, I don't know because

(14:04):
it's everything everywhere, all at once. What I can't say
overall is that I am walking in gratitude because I
see the effect that I have now. Things are just
a little bit everywhere. I'm really trying, my trying. I
am actively working on my bearings of how to operate,

(14:24):
how to move because again the ground just got shook.
But I'm still standing, still doing the podcasts, still got
some amazing things coming up, and I'm looking at the
alignment of it all. So that's what happened. K j
Las decided the part ways talking with Chris Malone. He said,

(14:48):
that's the program director there, said they appreciated my work,
said if I needed any glowing reviews, any recommendations, he
would be more than willing to do that. And you know,
I appreciate Chris even speaking life on me. The following Saturday,

(15:11):
I went to go turn on my keys. You know,
I'm doing everything respectfully because what you what my thing
about doing day? You ain't gonna never say nothing about
my work ethic and I'm gonna operate with professionalisten Now.
Am I human? Yeah? Am I gonna go off or whatever? Yeah?
But at the end of the day, that's where my

(15:31):
heart lies, and that's you know, did what I had
to do with Chris on his way out say don't
stop being you. He said, I believe you're gonna be
on TV one day. Hey, it's coming. And see what
I realized is that I'm about to do something in

(15:53):
this world. You know, at first I was saying I
went with Premiere. When I was talking to Jennifer lime Gruber,
and when I was talking to Karen Slade, who was
the general manager over at KHLAH, I would say, I'm
gonna do something that you ain't never seen before here,
And I realized even that was limiting into that sector.
I'm about to knew something this world ain't never seen before, huh,

(16:17):
because it was the plan and it's on my heart
and it's the hunger. So you know, things are a
little loosey goosey, you know, happening, But perhaps that happened
at the right time. It always happened at the right time.
That's what we got to realize. God ain't ain't slow
to keep it promising. God know what God doing and
if you were believe, you're gonna have to stand strong
and trust God to do what he said that He's

(16:37):
gonna do. And I don't think it's an accident. While
all of this change is happening in the springtime. You know,
we look at the end of the year in December
and then be like, oh January, Happy New Year, Happy
New Year. But they say, actually, the new year doesn't
start in the spring. And I ask God for a
new thing my birthday coming up. This is a new

(16:58):
life that we embarking on because this ain't the same
doing last year that was aspiring to be on the
radio have our own show. Definitely have the same foundation,
but definitely has blossomed and grown to authenticity and walking
in purpose and to being unapologetically who I am and
thank God I did because it may roll, may roam

(17:20):
with all kinds of people from all kinds of walks
of life, because we know the truth by the way
that it feels and the response that I have gotten
from each and every one of you have been a
reminder of how I made you feel, and I appreciate that.
I'm grateful for that. I asked that you give me

(17:42):
some room for patience because I'm cooking some stuff up.
I just need a minute to just let it digest.
Because after I got the news, you know, I was
hosting this awesome event or that following Monday for Unite
LA and also this organization called clean Tech and they
were talking about or advantists and they were or premiering, debuting.

(18:03):
It was the inaugural for the Clean Tech Academy over
at Los Angeles Trade Technical College. And I was done
in my whole authority and who I am, and I
related so much to the students. So I spoke life,
and I'm like, this is what I do, I speak,
this is what I do. I speak, this is what
I do. I speak. Blew them away. They say, gratitude

(18:25):
is everything. The more grateful we are and the more
things we have to be grateful for, And that's what
I'm grateful for. I'm grateful I didn't get a chance
to wallow what I mean by that when finding out
the news, I didn't even have a chance to really
be like, oh my gosh, why. I was like, wait
what happened? Because you know, I got people hitting me
up and say, doing your ratings are doing so well,
I'm gonna buy commercial spots. People at the station like, wow,
I had a client, listen, I want to buy They

(18:47):
want to buy some commercial spots on your show. Then
this new sense, but hey, God knows what he's doing.
What's your trumping vault? Because I'm human, I'm gonna get
emotion on having my fields. But the proof was in
a pudding, So I have to take it on my
leverage to say, hey, don we're not gonna you know.
And I used this loosely and I say it respectfully,

(19:08):
minimized to a certain sector of say I'm gonna do
some things in a certain area that somebody hasn't seen before.
I'm about to take this on a global watch me,
watch me, watch me. One thing about me is I
do what I say. I'm gonna, dude, That's why I
got life tied it in my mouth. So don't believe me.
Just watch And I say I'm a conviction because God

(19:29):
promised succeededly and abundantly far more than what I could
ever imagine and I'm still standing. Dawn from Detroit, went
to Howard, lived in New York, came to LA and
I did it the own. And what I mean by that,
I've had support system. I had a love of mother
like Janus he know, I had mentors like Skip Dillard.
But have I had the family that can lean on

(19:51):
right here, right now and go if that was not
blood like so many people have looked out for me
at my time that I've been out here, especially after
my mother transition. So I'm grateful for that. And so
let this be a reminder for you that you can't
fail that if you don't quit. So I'm not gonna quit.
So I'm not gonna fail. I also want to say,

(20:12):
this is Jenny My A couple of people. I said it,
but you know Jimmy and Jenny Min from the View,
not the View guide Dog, the real Jenny Min from
the real Yet yes that's in a relationship with jay Z.
One thing she talked about is she talked about this
thing about a planter or like a flower and if
a flower plant is not thriving in an environment, you
don't look at the flower to plant and say what's

(20:33):
wrong with you? You You start to reassess the environment. What
is the soil looking like, what is the sun looking
like it? Is it being water properly? Is it getting
the nutrients that it needs to thrive, not just the five?
And so if God saw it at fifth that I
get plucked from this environment at this time, then so bid,
so bid. But greater is he who was in me

(20:55):
that he who was in the world. So I gotta
ask you, is you ready? Because you got to remember
I said this on front page. I said front page
was wasn't nothing different than what I was doing on
Vitamin D. You catch what I'm putting down? Huh Okay?
So now it's what I feel and I'm grateful for

(21:16):
is that I've had a chance to have some extended
family members, people that I wouldn't have reached. So I'm
calling you more to come together. Let us all get together.
Let's do the damn thing. We still got some stuff
to do. I still got worse to speak, I still
got lives to inspire and change. I still have a
vision to be bigger than open with an impact of
Michael Jackson. What ha. I know how insane it sounds,

(21:41):
and I can still say it because I believe it
that much. I can believe something that I cannot see.
You something what we call faith. So where is your faith?
Are you doing? Happy New Year? Spring? What are you
calling forth? What are you manifesting? You know they say
on the first I'm just telling you this because what
I did, and if you need it, take the meat,

(22:02):
spit out the bone. Have you heard the power of
centiment or the energy and the properties, but blow it
out your front door, through the doorway. My sister Charlotte's
on me that shout out to Charlotte the here snive
on social media, also Charviv and she was telling me,
you know centiment can bring in abundance and how the
first of the month you should blow it at your
door and profess whatever affirmation. So I did that yesterday,

(22:25):
well yesterday, because today is the second, so I did
on the first, which is Saturday. So do what you
gotta do. That's for you. That's what I can say.
I'm calling forth abundance. I'm using every resource is like God.
It's given me because I understand that I'm expecting a
God thing. I'm taking a look at my environment and
seeing how I can place myself to not only grow

(22:47):
but to thrive. So that's what was the deal. At KJLH.
They just started to part ways. I was authentically me.
I showed up as me. Thank goodness I did. They say, hey,
don if you need any reviews, if you need any recommendations,
we are more than happy to do this for you.

(23:09):
And while we don't will we say, oh, I don't
need validation for nobody else. But that kind of validation
made me feel good because one thing about me you
will not one thing you will not say. You will
not say that my work ethic is is declining that
my work athic is lacking, because no, I pride myself
on my work ethic. That's what I do. That's what

(23:32):
I do. And you know, from an ego standpoint, that
felt good to know, Hey, it wasn't about your work ethic.
Because I did that, I was able to hold that
show down with just me. Mind you usually you know
you might have a producer, you got into the team. No,
it was just me booking guests, getting a conversation, going
getting the guest downstairs. I was working on still getting
the social media, but that became a challenge. But I
say all that to say, that is what happened. I'm

(23:54):
still here and we're just looking towards the light and
staying optimistic. I'm still don't give yayall vitamin day. It's
just coming in three D well. I had to Rob,
can't you do that with me? Please? I'm a nut.
If this audio sounds different, it's because I'm in the closet.
In the closet I was waiting. I was at the
studio earlier this week or last week on Thursday, thinking

(24:17):
I was gonna record it, but I didn't know what
to say, would not to say what the words because
everything I'm just figuring out. But I got it now.
And you know what else I appreciate to everybody's still
bang with me. What do I mean by that? Well,
oftentimes when we oper inniscence of security, we think that
we need some clothes, we need the money, we need
a label, we need somebody to affirm and give us
creditation about who we are. But my god, I'm grateful

(24:39):
that I've gotten creditation of validation, validation, whatever, of being
just who I am. So in the midst of me
and apprehensive of Like I told you, I had to
speaking engagement with United LA. I was like, oh, gosh,
I don't want to tell them. On the Lord with
Kjlah and speaking with Bridget Natter, she's a senior vice
president of Talent and Development. Hopefully I didn't misconstrue her title.
But when I hold her, she was like okay, literally

(25:03):
like okay. That means another great thing is coming. So
I want to remind you that whatever it is, it's
gonna be okay. And what do we know. If it's
not okay, then it's not all right. And if it's
not all right, then it's not gonna be okay. We
heard in a sentence or quote. If it ain't over,
it's not all right. And if it's not all right,
it's not over. So it ain't over yet. I still

(25:24):
got life in my lungs. I still got a breath
exuding from my life my body. Okay, I messed that up,
but you know what I mean. There's still breath in
my lungs to exude and to live out this life
exceedingly and abundantly what God promised. And I continue to
do that, and now have to do that by realizing
a hill like nothing to a step or so. Baby,
I'm about to walk this out. I'm about to walk
this out on things that we never seen. So I

(25:46):
gotta implore you to just walk it out. Okay, Remember
the same guy right now was the same guy back then.
If you have survived one hundred percent of the worst
days of your life, why would this be any different?
Because if you don't survive, heck, you wann't know because
you ain't gonna be here. I'm still here. I'm still
talking to you, so I'll be able to I guess

(26:07):
in folds, maybe Morris goes on. But that's pretty much
all I got. And what I ask for you is
to swart me on the next thing and what we're
doing with vit him a day, I'm about to take
it to the next level. Everything that you got from
front page, that's what we're about to do with vit
Him in D and more. That's two point all baby,
three point four point l. All I know is doing
for show, hey, catching because it's hot o a nut.

(26:35):
I know a nut. Listen, you better kept listen. All
I know is that we're gonna have this show, honey,
and the world is gonna be watching, and I'm gonna
be inspiring the world. And I need to ensure that
I got my comrades with me, that's you, and that
means that we don't have to live our lives on
purpose and for a purpose. And when we feel like

(26:56):
we've fallen down seven times, to get up, aid to
remind ourselves that I location is not our destination, to
look up and know that we can get up, and
to always remember, don't let what you see make you
forget what God said. Well, God said exceedingly and abundantly,
far more than what I could ever imagine. And I'm

(27:17):
here and I'm imagining big. So if I could get
this big being an Oprah wou an impact of Michael Jackson, WHOA, Amen, God,
what you about to do? Hey? I'm here, so you
here with me? So let's continue to do this together.
Now I'm rambling. Let me go. We got some my
ole show. I got some exciting conversations coming up this month.

(27:39):
Christian Green. Yeah, I feel like I'm going to release
his conversation the up coming with I know it's going
to be good. He shares this his experience with being
in the foster care system and what he's doing with
his work with foster youth. It will be a tantalizing
conversation and it will inspire you because that's what we
do on Vitamin Day. And just as a reminder, what

(27:59):
is vitamin D about. Vitamin D is all about to
shed and light on the good and the bad. Because
what do I say? If you want to be better
and you want to do better, you guys to be
able to see better. And half the time that starts
off with you. So what do you see? Don't let
what you see make you forget what God said? But
what is the vision you have for your life? Catch it?
Because it's high All right, let me get out of here.

(28:21):
As a reminder, you know I have advice letters. I
haven't done one in a while. I want to encourage you.
If you need some advice on a relationship, your career,
about anything, maybe advice of how I would apply or
how I would go about a situation, email me. I
want to hear from you vitamin D at Dawn day
speaks dot com. And also if you have been enjoying it,

(28:43):
because I know you have, if you still listening, and
if you've been emailing me in contacting me, can you
go ahead and leave a review? Can you go ahead
and hit the five star mark and let people know
why they need to catch this light why they need
