Speaker 4 (02:37):
Okay, all right, I'm not mad at that. You know
you have a job lined.

Speaker 8 (02:41):

Speaker 4 (02:45):
You're like, let me get out of here first. Are

Speaker 6 (03:05):

If you couldn't get through, you could always leave a
mettus and China light that way. And when we come back,
we have your E T and Kenya Moore here care
looks like she is ready to talk. We'll give you
the details. It's way up, they says the rooms from
Industry Shade to all of gos so out sending Angela's

(03:25):
feeling that EyeT, what's up?

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Its way up with Angela. Yee, I'm here.

Speaker 6 (03:30):
Jasmine brand is here. Yes, I'm here, and I know
you were here for this. And I saw this on
the jazzmin brand. By the way, your page got again. Yeah,
and so now you have a new page, the dot
Jasmine Dot brand.

Speaker 7 (03:40):
Thank you for saying it because I couldn't. Yes, that's
exactly what it is. We'll be back, but we're.

Speaker 6 (03:43):
In the meantime, in the meantime between times, we're here. Yep,
all right, So make sure y'all build up that following. Yes,
all right, so I saw this on the Jasmine brand.
Kenya Moore is ready to share her side of the
drama where Britt Eatie and she said, it's my turn
and she's playing and Kendrick not like us. That's the
trailer of her getting her makeup done, getting ready to talk.

(04:06):
They've had plenty to say. Now it's my turn this
Friday on YouTube. I'm addressing the mess, the rumors, and
the real story. Oh and I have the receipts unfiltered.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
Are you ready? I love how you did it out period.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Listen. I'm locked in.

Speaker 7 (04:18):
I love this storyline. I love this for Kenya. I
love the little trailer I'm I'm gonna watch.

Speaker 6 (04:24):
I want to say, Okay, this whole thing has been
so much drama, but that's part of it.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Yeah, that's part of this.

Speaker 6 (04:32):
But it is definitely they both were wrong. They were Yeah,
you know what I'm saying, who's more wrong?

Speaker 4 (04:38):
I don't know that you.

Speaker 6 (04:38):
Could say, because it feels like it kind of started
with Britt saying the things that she said, and I
do feel like when it came to Kenya, they weren't like, Okay,
let's make sure she's good. It also depends on who
you like, because I see people taking sides. Yeah you know,
but I would be horrified if somebody showed pictures of
me embarrassing.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Yeah, how embarrassed?

Speaker 6 (04:58):
And they're pulling up all these old reseats of bread
so and I think on Kenya's behalf. She's saying, these
are things that you signed you know away like you
actually we're okay with it. These are not things that
we're not out there already.

Speaker 7 (05:10):
And if you poke someone, you can't you know, control
how they respond to you know, you poking them back,
and can you just want to hell with her?

Speaker 4 (05:17):
So you know, oh baby, I don't want these problems.

Speaker 6 (05:21):
That was your yet spotted by socony. Make sure you
go to soccony dot com. That is s A U
c O n y, which is not Seconi. Just as
a reminder. And when we come back, we have about
last night. That's where we discussed what we did last night.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
It's where night.

Speaker 9 (05:37):
So about last night? Yes, I went down.

Speaker 6 (05:43):
What's up as way up at Angela yee, I'm here,
Jasmine brand is here and it's time for us to
do about last night now, Jasmine. While you're in town,
we've been having these conversations. We have the building in
midtown Detroit. It's called the Alex.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
It is Detroit.

Speaker 6 (05:57):
Yes, that is finally people are actually moving in tomorrow eighteen.
Angela girl, it's not over, it's not so the last
thing that we have to do now because and this
is for anybody interested in real estate. Just no, I
love real estate, but it's hard. Yeah, well, especially a
lot of things they're gonna come up. Yeah yeah, yeah,

(06:17):
for sure that.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
You cannot anticipate. That you have to be prepared for.

Speaker 6 (06:21):
And so right now we're in the process of extending
the bridge loan that we have another six months, because
it's better for us to be able to get a
mortgage on a property that is fully leased out. But
we couldn't let people move in until the eighteenth yep,
because we were getting out of an old situation called
a lie tech yeah, which is like a tax break

(06:43):
that you get in exchange for uh you know anyway, Yeah,
long story short tomorrow. That's a big deal. We haven't
even really been talking about it, we haven't. Yeah, yeah,
we've come a long way. I mean, we still have
a long way to go, but we if anybody's looking
for an apartment seriously, seriously, we do have some available
in midtown Detroit, and we certainly like did a whole

(07:05):
lot to get this building ready.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Yeah, the area is really nice over there.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
It's amazing.

Speaker 6 (07:09):
It's been two years that we've been working on getting
this done.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
And you know what, it's an uncertain.

Speaker 6 (07:14):
Time when it comes to people doing real estate right now,
when it comes to the cost of lumber, when it
comes to hiring employees. But real estate is something that
I feel like is a stable investment and it's long
term and it's long time, and I don't think you
about to just come in here and flip this. You know,
it's not happening like that. But anyway, that is our
about last night. That's what we've been focused on, working

(07:35):
on getting ready for tomorrow. Hopefully we do a ribbon
cutting soon at some point. Yeah, all right, well that
is about last night. And when we come back, you know,
since we're talking about real estate and we both have
certain things we've done, I want to ask a question
to you, because I know you've dealt with this too.
How do you feel about doing real estate or renting
out to or renting from a relative or somebody close

(07:57):
to you. Is it something that you're like, oh, had
a terrible experience with that. Is it something you prefer
I want to discuss because there's pros and cons. Yeah,
and we've done done it all, all right, and you
guys weigh in to hit us up at weight up
with ye or you can always call us up eight
hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty ye yee.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
But you're all being waiting.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Foh, you're tapped in the way up with Angela yee?

Speaker 6 (08:21):
What's tapp is? Way up with Angela yee. I'm here
with my girl, Jazmine Brand Yes, I'm here now. We
were talking about finally finally getting people moving in tomorrow.
That's a big day for us, this building in midtown Detroit.
It was an all women crew, me you, Jessica Sanchez
to Pika Sam all women.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
All women and all work.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
But finally that day is upon us so we can
stop having to hopefully at some point shell out money NonStop, right,
And I mean this is not small amounts of money either.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
These are like yeah, it's a lot.

Speaker 6 (08:50):
But I want to ask you about doing business with
people really close to you, relatives even, and what you
think about that when it comes to real estate letting
somebody move in?

Speaker 4 (09:00):
What do you think, jaz Whine, I know you own
a place in DC.

Speaker 7 (09:01):
Yes, I have a home DC, and I've had relatives
maybe like two or three occasions that have rented from
me in my property in DC, and I will say
it's pros and cons Obviously, I think the big pro is,
you know your family's not gonna tear your place. For
the most part, like family has been very respectful, go
they go above and beyond to make sure my place
is like just things that normal tennis wouldn't do, your

(09:22):
family will do.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
So you have you don't have to worry about that.

Speaker 7 (09:25):
But the cons are you really can't make no money
like that when you have your family or your loved
ones or something you care about, you can't really and
that's not taking advantage of it.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
You just can't.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
Really you feel bad.

Speaker 7 (09:34):
Yeah, you feel bad, so you can't really make money.
And that's always been the con for me about you know,
in terms of renting out to my family.

Speaker 6 (09:41):
You know, when I first graduated from college, my dad
was like, just go live in your grandmother's playing my
grandparents own the place in Queens. I was like, there
is no way I need them monetary my coming and
going right. And for me, I have never had a
family member move into a place, but I have definitely
had people who were close to me like it's good
when it's like you pay her because I've definitely had

(10:02):
shout out to pay her.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
She pay her rent on time. I gave her a
reduced rent.

Speaker 6 (10:05):
We also work together, so it was really beneficial when
we were traveling doing things convenient. She'll come upstairs, I'll
go downstairs, no problem. But I have had people who
you know, take advantage of things come and won't leave
and won't want to pay the rent, and just like
if you all fall out, just know that they're going
to do everything I can.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
I remember I had a tenant. I was cool with it.

Speaker 6 (10:27):
She started posting on social media, now if I slip
and falls, and I was like, okay, she about to
try to do something, So I screenshotted it, kept all
that evidence, you know, just in case somebody, because you
just never know. Sometimes the people that know you can
really like work against you in the worst ways. And
so the worst part is when it's like a business deal.
Then now you got to figure out how to.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Would you do? Would you rent to a friend?

Speaker 4 (10:48):
Again, it depends on who it is.

Speaker 6 (10:50):
I will say that, and I would definitely do it
with an actual lease in place and let them know
that I had PTSD from the situation. All right, Well,
you guys way into eight hundred and two ninety.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
Two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 6 (11:03):
We can also play your messages for last where we
want to hear your thoughts.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
It's way up.

Speaker 9 (11:06):
Sure, she's about to blow the lid ab off this spot.
Let's get it.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
Oh, Angela's feeling that yee tea, Come and get the tea.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
What's up his way up at Angela? Yee, I'm here.

Speaker 6 (11:16):
Jasmine Brand is here, yes, ma'am, And let's get into this.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Yeeze.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
This is a good positive story.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (11:21):
So the movie centers, they're saying it's gonna make forty
five to fifty million dollars and it's box office debut
and that's just domestic, okay, all right, and so you
know minecraft movie, that movie's been doing extremely well.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
So we'll see if it's gonna end up doing better
than that.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
And they may. And it costs ninety million to.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Make, Yeah, so shout out to them. That's huge.

Speaker 6 (11:41):
And that's ninety million before factoring global marketing expenses.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
But I do want to say that movie has had.

Speaker 6 (11:48):
Like a across the border on rye tomatoes and everything,
like people seem to love it.

Speaker 8 (11:52):
You know.

Speaker 6 (11:53):
That's Ryan Coogler and Michael b Jordan and they've worked
together on Creed, they work together on Black Panther, so
clearly they work together.

Speaker 7 (12:00):
Well, yeah they do. You know, the trailer is really good.
I really I really want to see this.

Speaker 6 (12:04):
You want to see it all, you know, I want
to see it something This is like your genre. But
it's also good because I like when successfully movies like
this are made, because sometimes people will tell you all
black movies don't and you know, they don't do well
and blah blah blah if there's a black person all
of these different things. Well, this just proves you're wrong.
All right, Well that is your EET. And when we

(12:25):
come back, we have under the radar. These are the
stories that are not necessarily in the headlines. They're flying
under the radar, but you need to know about them.
It's way up the news news.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
What's up his way up at Angela.

Speaker 6 (12:40):
Ye, I'm here with my girl, Jasmine Bram I'm here
and let's get into under the radar now. A tech investor,
Victor Lazzardi, he's a general partner at Benchmark. He said
that AI is going to be really coming for certain jobs.
And he said two white collar professionals should be very nervous, okay,
and those people are lawyers and recruiters. He said companies

(13:02):
will become more valuable, but also much smaller. And you know,
he said, companies talk about AI isn't replacing people, it's
augmenting them.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Kind of sounds like replacing.

Speaker 6 (13:12):
And by the way, this is the venture capital company
that has backed uber Snap we work and he said
this is BS it's fully replacing people.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
So I said, I was like, it kind of sounds
like it is.

Speaker 6 (13:21):
And he said that law school student should think about
what they could do three years from now that AI
could not.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
And there's not going to be many things. One thing
I will say.

Speaker 6 (13:29):
And when we had Cappadonna and Mathematics from Wutang on
earlier this week, they were talking about this how you
have to also evolve with the time when it comes
to technology or you'll get left behind.

Speaker 7 (13:39):
Because just us disagree with it doesn't matter because it's
stillppening right.

Speaker 6 (13:42):
So and March, an employment lawyer, told a business insider
that lawyers are dinosaurs and they need to wake up
willing to use AI is imperative for their success and
so I can also see how it would also affect recruiters. Yeah,
because you know that's but anyway, just keeping y'all up
today on that, because that's also something I keep on
saying I need.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
To get better at. I took a class.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
Shout out to my girl Angelina that teaches this whole
Google class on AI and how to use it. But
definitely something we all need to make sure that we're
paying attention to. And then another story that is a
nice positive story.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
You sent this to me, Jazmine Brand.

Speaker 6 (14:19):
This was a bookstore in a small town in Michigan
and they helped this community helped a local bookstore move
ninety one hundred books one by one from one site
to the new location.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
It will block a wlack away.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
Yeah, that's a beautiful thing.

Speaker 8 (14:35):
I like that.

Speaker 6 (14:35):
Serendipity Books. So the former location, you know, they did
a book brigade and you can see if you see
the video online, people are just standing there passing the
books down from one block to another.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
About three hundred people. So that's cool.

Speaker 6 (14:47):
Yes, all right, And this is a neighborhood in Chelsea
that's west of Detroit, and that is you're under the
radar that is also spotted by Soccony. I bet you
some of the people on that line were wearing soccany
because it gat people. All right, well, we do have
the way Up mix at the top of the hour,
plus Whiz Khalifa is gonna be joining us, and you
know he bought some goodies.

Speaker 4 (15:07):
Don't play with us, all right, it's way up.

Speaker 6 (15:11):
She's like to talk like they Angela Jean, like they
Angela Jean.

Speaker 9 (15:15):
And she's spilling it all this is.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Yeaty, what's up his way up at Angela? Yee, I'm here.
Jasmine brand is in.

Speaker 6 (15:24):
The building like that accident, Angela the dot Jasmine dot
brand as your page was lost at nine hundred thousand,
so you got a new one.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
Yeah, all right.

Speaker 6 (15:32):
Let's get into this et with Chloe Kardashian. She was
on call her daddy, and she talked a lot about
her relationships with Tristan Thompson.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
She talked about lamar Odom.

Speaker 6 (15:43):
One thing she talked about was how Kim knew that
Tristan cheated on her before she knew.

Speaker 5 (15:49):
Here's what she said, Kim has known about the cheating.
I think both of the cheating stuff, I think Kim
found out first, I know, definitely the I think both,
which is crazy before I knew. And then my mom
with my ex husband, she knew things before I did
and had to tell me.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Do you like that they know before you?

Speaker 4 (16:09):
I would rather a family member than a stranger.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
Yes, yeah, I don't like that any of this stuff happens,
but I don't I would rather at them. I'm not
someone that gets mad at the messenger.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
Yeah, you could never be mad at the messenger.

Speaker 6 (16:24):
That's very my man said, you better tell me, because
you know some people don't want to get in the
middle of that.

Speaker 7 (16:28):
I like to get involved, but I get it. I
will tell you, and you bet you better tell me
who you are.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Man, I don't know. My maddinary man can't.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
Help right now.

Speaker 6 (16:36):
Another thing that she talked about was, you know, after
she found out about his cheating and then she had
to give birth, some mothers would be like, don't come
in here, I don't you be so mad.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
But here's what she said.

Speaker 5 (16:47):
She did the cameras in the delivery room because I
wanted that for true and I chose for Tristan to
be there because it wasn't about me and people couldn't
get over that I've never had a baby before at
this point, it's my first pregnancy. I just wanted what
I wanted, and I don't know if that was the
right thing, and I don't know. I just did what

(17:08):
I felt was the right thing to do by saying
to my daughter, your dad was in the delivery room.
One day, she's going to know everything, because she's going
to be old enough to know, but I don't think
she needs to know. I didn't have your dad in
there because I was so angry. I can't make a
permanent decision off of temporary emotions.

Speaker 6 (17:25):
And then after all that, she had a second baby,
and this was something that she kind of kept to herself, Yeah,
because you know, people was dragging her when they found
this out.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
And here's what she said about that.

Speaker 5 (17:35):
You know, I hid it from the public that I
was having a second baby, even though I found out
he had a second. He had not a second, he
had another child. And then I had to deal with
this privately, and that was almost worse. But I was
so ashamed to tell the world that I was having
another baby because I already knew what they were going

(17:56):
to say, and I already knew in my gut that
that was probably going to happen again, and then that
sounds idiotic. Why would you be with someone? But there
was just this Now I knew in hindsight, Oh that's
what that feeling was, of never feeling safe with him again.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
Well, you know, I feel like a lot of women
have done things like that.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Yeah, she's not the first of the last.

Speaker 6 (18:14):
Well you can watch that Phoe episode of Call Her
Daddy with Chloe Kardashian. She looks so different too, like
when you look at it. Yeah, all right, well that
is your yee tee And when we come back, we
have asked Yee eight hundred two ninety two fifty one
fifty call us up any question.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
Jasmine and I are here to help you out.

Speaker 6 (18:31):
This is all sponsored by Sokkany go to soccony dot com.
I told you get that fifty percent off your first order.
Don't play. It's way up, whether.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
It's relationship for career advice, Angela's dropping facts, you should know.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
This is ask gee, what's up? Its way up with Angela?

Speaker 6 (18:46):
Ye, Angela Yee and Jasmine Brand is here with me
and it's time for ask Yee eight hundred two ninety two.
Fifty one fifty is a number. We have Mariah on
the line. What's that Mariah?

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Hey girl, how you doing?

Speaker 4 (18:58):
Okay? How are you girl?

Speaker 5 (18:59):
Paw?

Speaker 4 (19:00):
What's good?

Speaker 8 (19:01):
Oh know?

Speaker 3 (19:02):
That's why I'm like, let me call my homegirl cause
she gets the best advice and.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
I need it. Okay, we're listening.

Speaker 8 (19:08):
I was having a.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
Three year affair. Everything was good, coup esthetic, and then
I got pregnant.

Speaker 4 (19:15):
They be come.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
Wife finds out because I had to tell her because
you're not gonna not take care of my kids.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
Wow, you tell he didn't tell his wife? You did? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (19:25):
I had to because after I got pregnant, he started
acting kind of iffy. So I have the baby or whatever,
and everything's good for like the first three months, and
then he wanted me to sit on the side when
I was the side, Like how is that possible? So
he went back to the white and having heard from

(19:45):
him since, I go put him on child support. So
now he's mad that he's on child support but he
hasn't paid it.

Speaker 6 (19:53):
Oh well, if he doesn't pay his child support, that's
gonna be his own legal issues that he's gonna have
to deal with. That's on him, and just so you know,
we can't condone like you know, you know what it was.
You were the sidepiece, You got pregnant, told his wife
he was mad, but then his wife kicked him out.
He ended up coming with you, and then he did
the same thing to you that he did to her.
He got a lot of issues. Yes, you have a

(20:15):
beautiful child now, but you have a father who was
never really going to be the man that he needed
to be for any woman or you know that alone
a child. So I just feel like all you can
do is make him pay what he needs to pay
if he wants to see his child. You know, hopefully
he'll come around to be a better co parent. As

(20:35):
far as dating, is it somebody you still want to
be with.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
No, not at all.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
You know honestly, with me not having my first daughter's
dad around, I really was just trying to make it
so that my other daughter can have a dad, I guess,
but I never really wanted him.

Speaker 8 (20:53):
The thing goodbout it is, you know, I.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
Already moved on. I'm pregnant already with a whole nother situation.

Speaker 4 (20:59):
Wow, I'm fertile girl.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
Okay, you got yours?

Speaker 4 (21:03):
Okay, So who is this guy now?

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Same situations?

Speaker 10 (21:07):
What not?

Speaker 3 (21:08):
Come on, Mariah, they don't come married. You just find
it out later.

Speaker 7 (21:12):
See little things, Yeah, you see little red flags that
you probably ignore.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Yeah, I speed past them every time.

Speaker 6 (21:17):
Don't ignore those red flags you know already. All right, Well, Mariah,
all I can tell you is, you know, be the
best mom that you can be from this point moving forward.
But I do want you to take some accountability and
make some better, smarter decisions for yourself.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
Sure right, yeah, accountability is key.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Okay, we could try.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
All right, Well, I.

Speaker 6 (21:40):
Got stub luck to you, and please have a safe
pregnancy and don't stress yourself out over things you can't control.
I'm not that's right, okay, girl, that was ask ye
eight hundred and two, nine fifty fifty. You can always
leave a message and we will answer your question that way.
And when we come back with khalifas in the building.
He's got his new cushion O J two not a mixtape,

(22:01):
it's a whole project coming out on Friday.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
How exciting it is, Khalifa. When we come back, it's
way up.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
This yeah, yeah, more way up with angel now?

Speaker 4 (22:13):
What's up?

Speaker 6 (22:13):
His way up at angela yee, I'm here, Jasmine Brand
is here, and the guy is in the building with
Khalifa's here? What's up with I was telling you that
one time that I smoked and couldn't feel my legs.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
It was your fault.

Speaker 9 (22:26):
You scared of weed.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
I know, I'm not.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
I still do it again. It wasn't a bad experience.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
You are a kind of edible.

Speaker 6 (22:32):
I do enjoy edibles. And you know what, people, a
lot of people who smoke a lot aren't that big
on edibles. Like you know what I'm saying, They're a
little stronger. Yeah, I like like, I like giving people
a weed, like for the first time. Yeah, well, yeah,
I'm a good person.

Speaker 7 (22:47):
You couldn't I couldn't feel your Was it like a
Do you remember if it was like a sea?

Speaker 4 (22:51):
I say it was two times that did this to me.

Speaker 6 (22:53):
There was one time that actually went viral because it
was that powerhouse yep.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
And I smoked. I didn't know what was going on
after that. Yeah, I had an interview and I don't
know what happened. I took like I probably only took
two polls. That's how strong it is.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
But that's a good thing, right, you don't want to
have to like do too much much.

Speaker 10 (23:12):
Now it's just a little bit, keep it moving. You
can always tap back in, you know, if you want
some more.

Speaker 6 (23:17):
How do you feel seeing so many people come out
with strains, but really you're a person that somebody should
trust because you do this. But then you see people
who don't even really like smoke and you know, and
then they're like, oh, I got a cannabis strain.

Speaker 9 (23:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (23:30):
A lot of people got into it like just for
the money because they see, like, you know, the business
behind it, But you really got to get out in
front of that business. You have to like do zoom
calls and meet with the dispensaries and go do meeting
greets and like really really put in the legwork for
your brand to work. And that's the difference between you

(23:50):
know the success of our brand and the other ones.
And so I didn't just put my name on it
and I'm out here working.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
You were doing that when it was illegal, you know what.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
Doing it.

Speaker 10 (24:00):
And Burner too, he's yeah, you know, he put me
up on game, but that's really who showed me how
to you know, really put it down in the weak game.

Speaker 9 (24:09):
So that's why we're at where we're at with it.

Speaker 6 (24:11):
I think yesterday was the fifteen year anniversary, you know
for Cushion Ojay that when I tell you, that is
something that to this day. I saw people I think
Double Xel might have posted it, and I saw everybody
was talking about what their favorite songs behind there and
how that still slaps like even today.

Speaker 10 (24:29):
Yeah, yeah, I'm really appreciative of that because a lot
of people have really good memories of that. And that's
why I'm happy to be able to, you know, still
do what I do is because it just makes people
feel good.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
What's the pressure of doing a part too?

Speaker 9 (24:41):
Then I don't have no pressure. I have one. I
know what pocket I'm in, I know what.

Speaker 10 (24:48):
Yeah, I know what people expect from me, and I'm
not scared to deliver that, you know, And that's what
I really wanted to deliver. And like I said, I
want to make those moments, you know, stand out of
getting people's lives.

Speaker 6 (25:00):
You've been doing some amazing freestyles too, and people are
like he's bringing back like the essence of that mixtape.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
Erar you know what else?

Speaker 6 (25:07):
I read that that mixtape was the first mixtape to
ever trend on Twitter. Yeah, it was that's wild. You
know how crazy that is to be able to have that, like.

Speaker 9 (25:15):
Yeah, yeah, be like one of the first trending rappers.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
Because think like we don't even think about you know
how that is?

Speaker 9 (25:24):
No.

Speaker 10 (25:24):
I mean for me, I was utilizing social media. I
still do, but it was new for an artist to
utilize social media to like boost their career, and a
lot of the artists who were already on at that time,
they didn't see the relevance in that, so they were
kind of like shining away from it. But when I
came into the game, it became like, yo, you need this,

(25:44):
you need that, you gotta have this account, you gotta
have that, right and yeah, it kind of just molded
that and shaped it and show showed what you can
do based off of that.

Speaker 9 (25:53):
So I'm really happy to have like, you know, been
a pioneer and busting that door down.

Speaker 6 (25:57):
But we got a little preview of the new project.
So it is a mixtape, No, it's an album, but
it's an album. Okay, let's be clear.

Speaker 9 (26:06):
We are.

Speaker 6 (26:10):
I want to say, what's happening that MANA wants to
walk out to that at his wedding? Are because that
today yeah, Yeah, it's smooth.

Speaker 9 (26:19):
Yeah it is.

Speaker 6 (26:20):
I like it because it just feels the music feels good.
We were in here without know we like we were smoking.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
Yeah, yeah, we were here.

Speaker 7 (26:26):
It makes me also kind of want to smoke, also
want to clean my house. But it's so ful too,
it's very so we want to.

Speaker 9 (26:31):
Like all of those things.

Speaker 6 (26:33):
Yeah, just right around, I'm here with my girl, Jasmine Brand,
and we are talking to Wiz Khalifa. He's got his
new cushion and o j T. Not a mixtape, it's
a whole project coming out on Friday.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
How exciting. It's so chill too.

Speaker 9 (26:46):
I know I like it. I really do like it.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
All right, we got more of Whiz Khalifa when we
come back. It's way up.

Speaker 9 (26:53):
With Angela ye more Now, what's up?

Speaker 6 (26:57):
Way up with Angela yee. I'm here, Jasmine Brand is here,
of course because she likes to smoke.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
You ain't wrong. And I said, what's Khalifa's in the building?

Speaker 6 (27:04):
And I want to ask you, did you decide to
do this as a part two in celebration of the
fifteen year anniversary or was it it just happened that.

Speaker 9 (27:11):
It just happened that way.

Speaker 10 (27:12):
I started working on it around this time last year,
and it took me about the same amount of time
to create the first one as well.

Speaker 9 (27:20):
So when by the time I was done, it just
landed at this.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
Time and you named it after the entire project was done.

Speaker 10 (27:26):
Nah, I knew it was going to be that walking
into it, because I knew, just me wanting to release
a full project, there would be nothing more exciting than
doing Cushion Orange Juices too.

Speaker 9 (27:38):
Like I could come try to come.

Speaker 10 (27:39):
Up with a whole new concept and people wouldn't gravitate
towards it as much as they would Cushion Orange Juice too.

Speaker 9 (27:45):
So I'm like, I might as well do what people,
you know, what they want.

Speaker 6 (27:48):
Think about the different mindset you're in now that you
were back then too, Yeah, for sure, it's a whole
different ways today, but some things are still the same.

Speaker 9 (27:56):
Yeah, Like what the majority what different are saying?

Speaker 8 (27:59):
Same?

Speaker 9 (28:00):
I'm still chill, Yeah, I'm still chill.

Speaker 6 (28:02):
What else Let's see, But you do have an eight
pac now, so that big wiz now, yeah, that working out?

Speaker 4 (28:11):
What does that do for you?

Speaker 6 (28:12):
Because it feels like something for you that is Like
I remember when you were on the road and you
had to have your equipment with you to be able
to work out, and then this whole like you know,
even just working with this the fighting lead that you're working,
it's like an mm A, yeah, yeah, PFL that's perfect for.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
You, But what does that do for you?

Speaker 6 (28:30):
Just like the balance of being able to do what
you want to do, but then also being able to
work out all the time and like maintain your physique.

Speaker 10 (28:38):
It's something that that challenges me and that's something that
I need. Like doing music, I love it, but it's
not always challenging. And you know, working out and doing
yoga and stuff like that. I learned stuff about myself
that I apply to my wife every day and it
really just helps me mentally and helps me deal with people,
and it gives me something to offer as well.

Speaker 9 (28:59):
So that's why I stick with it.

Speaker 6 (29:01):
People need to listen to this because another thing about you,
you're a great co parent. You've been that, yeah, and
that's not easy for a lot of people. What tips
would you get people out there if they're like going
through it and they can't get along and you know,
back and forth, but there is a child involved, and
you got to make sure that you're good for that,
what would you tell people out there who are listening

(29:21):
that are like I can't stand my baby mom, I
can't stand my baby daddy.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Yeah, baby daddy, my baby daddy.

Speaker 10 (29:27):
Everybody's situation is different, so it's not it's not easy
at all, but like the way that it starts isn't
how it's got to finish. So you start out like
stuff and arguing and like that, then at least like
try to you know, you know, don't keep that shit
going forever, right, try.

Speaker 4 (29:41):
To work it out.

Speaker 10 (29:42):
Yeah, get it out, work through that, understand your place
and that and like how much control you have, and
work on the things that you can be better. And
hopefully you have a partner who grows and matures and
a lot of it has to just do with time
and growth, So hopefully you can grow and mature and
get to that point. My album Cush knows you this
is the most important.

Speaker 9 (30:01):
Thing to me.

Speaker 4 (30:01):
He's like, back to the album.

Speaker 10 (30:02):
Yeah, no, no, you're right, really is the most Yeah,
it's the most important thing, like for real, it's it's
really like what my heart is set on right now.

Speaker 9 (30:11):
It's what all my intention is is going towards.

Speaker 4 (30:14):
And there's gonna be some fun cookout stuff for me.

Speaker 10 (30:17):
And it's gonna last for longer than just four twenty.
You know, people is gonna associate it with the you know,
the day that they got stole this. But it's gonna
last throughout the summer when you come to the tour,
when you you know, you have a day off, when
you go on vacation, and then next year when the
festivals start back up again. It's just really gonna become

(30:38):
a theme in a soundtrack to a lot of people's lives.
So I'm putting all my energy into that.

Speaker 6 (30:43):
All right, Well, listen, Wiz, I appreciate you so much,
you know you always like, no matter where I'm working at,
You're gonna come through.

Speaker 9 (30:49):
And I'm gonna give you some weed too.

Speaker 6 (30:50):
And oh I didn't want, but I got you the
first thing I need, the first thing I thought when
you was on the schedule. It's like, I hope he
brings some weed. Is that a ship that people expect
that from you?

Speaker 4 (31:01):
That's anything?

Speaker 9 (31:04):
Can hear the album for real? Now, They'll be like,
oh man, this is the best album I've heard.

Speaker 4 (31:11):
It seems like you see how you could look at
this and see the quality in it.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
I know you don't, but you didn't roll this yourself.
This is your your company did this.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
He has somebody hired for that.

Speaker 9 (31:20):
I personally all of them.

Speaker 6 (31:23):
