Speaker 1 (00:11):
Good morning, Peeves, and welcome to wok F Daily with
me your girl, Daniel Moody recording from the home Bunker, Folks,
on this woke Wednesday, I have some thoughts that I
want to share with regard to the walde wall coverage
of Donald Trump. You know, I know that it's been
(00:32):
nine years. First of all, do you know that it's
been nine years since Donald Trump came down that escalator
like that, It's been you know, about a decade almost
of trump Ism of Donald Trump, a fuckery of NonStop
wolde wall coverage of his every move, his every taunt,
his every grifting act, his every disgusting you know, language
(00:58):
and rand NonStop. And you know, I turned on the
news just before because I wanted to get a rundown
of what's happening. And you know, decide, what are the
topics that I want to talk about on this woke Wednesday?
And what do I see wall to wall coverage of
(01:19):
this hush money case like panels and you know, on
the ground reporters and in the courtroom reporters and like
on both MSNBC and CNN. Now you may be thinking
to yourself, Danielle, isn't this what we wanted, Like, didn't
we want, you know, to have Donald Trump like in
(01:41):
the news like this on this hush money case. I'm
gonna be honest with you, no, actually, because what is
happening once again is we are living on two different planets.
Earth one, where we are all located, is showing this
wall to walk coverage on every cable news channel, and
(02:03):
we're thinking that it's going to make a difference in
this election. So we're all jacked up about it. On
Earth two, where Fox News and Oaan and all of
the other right wing podcasters and stations and folks are,
they know nothing about this trial. It's not being shown,
(02:23):
it's not being discussed. And because of this shear fact
that there are no cameras inside of the courtroom and
we're not watching this in real time and it's just
a read out of transcripts even vodes better for Donald Trump.
Now we know that the decision was made because of safety, right,
because of the fact that jurors you know, will be
(02:43):
threatened and harassed, and we get that, right, but I
also know and think that if people could have seen
Donald Trump in real time sleeping and farting and like
basically being an old, you know, degenerate, you know man
that they your opinions you may change, and you may
think to yourself, do we want this man who can't
(03:06):
apparently stay awake in his own criminal court case to
be running the country. But the fact is that we
don't have those cameras. And while everyone is focused on
Donald Trump and this salacious nature of this hush money case,
what we are missing is the forest for the trees, right,
(03:28):
which is this Republicans are doing some really disgusting, dirty
things across this country. You have child marriage being celebrated
in the state of Missouri. So right now, folks, the
(03:50):
state of Missouri, let me just get this out because
I did not know, because why would I think that
something like this exists in the United States. I thought
that we were a developed nation, right that protected children.
But we don't, and particularly not in the South. So
let me give you a little tidbit. In Missouri, in
(04:15):
twenty eighteen, they raised the age for marriage from fourteen
years old fourteen to sixteen years old. Now, there has
been a bill that was put out to raise the
age of marriage to eighteen years old, and there are
(04:40):
Republicans that are blocking this measure. With saying that we
should stay out of people's personal lives. The government has
no business there. I'm sorry what I couldn't hear you
over the hypocrisy. So basically, the government can be inside
(05:02):
of our uteruses, and be inside of trans people's bathroom decisions,
and be in the queer community's bedrooms, right, because that's
what Republicans have been doing for way too long. But
when it comes to ensuring that a child is able
(05:26):
to be a child, Republicans want the following. In Alabama,
they want child labor back, which is what Sarah Huckabee
Sanders signed into law as governor, rolled back child labor
laws so that kids could work. Right. Not her kids,
of course, but you know those brown and black kids,
(05:50):
those undocumented children that are in that state, so you
can put them to work and no one will be
the wiser. So that happened. Then they want to roll
back child marriage and reinstituting child brides. But get this, folks,
why do they want to do that. Let me tell you,
(06:11):
because they think that it will stop abortion from happening. Yeah,
so if you are raped or conceive a child through incest,
they think that being able to marry at the ripe
(06:32):
old age of fourteen or become a mother at ten
is somehow going to stop abortion. By the way, these
are the same children that they want to protect from
books that they're banning because children can't possibly learn about history,
(06:52):
their body right, their rights, or anything like that because
that's too woke. But being married off after you're raped
at ten years old, which happened in Illinois when the
little girl was raped and then had to leave the
state in order to go get an abortion, and then
(07:13):
that state decided to overturn their abortion laws and take
it off the books because a ten year old should
become a mother. Apparently the Republicans are so fucking backwards
and sick. Oh. Also, and you'll will talk about this
(07:34):
later this week with our friend Jonathan Metzel. Also apparently
in Tennessee they just passed legislation that allows you to
marry your cousin. I like, this is not an Onion article,
This is actually happening. So folks, the Republican Party is
literally telling us exactly how they want us to live.
(07:59):
They want to live like, I don't even know what
times this would make sense for other than the dark
ages where girls are being married off in their teens
or preteens, and having starting families at fourteen years old
because that's what they considered normal, and grooming young girls
(08:23):
and then putting them into the workforce. What are we
doing here? And so while all the cameras are being
focused on Donald Trump, we're not seeing what is happening
in the States and what this entire party is championing
(08:45):
and orchestrating in broad daylight, which is a complete and
total regression of any progress that we have made in
women's rights, in children's right right, in our bodily autonomy,
in what is okay in civil society, and what should
(09:09):
be banned like marrying your fucking cousin. Like it's you know, folks,
it's really wild and it's scary, and you know, and
I think that. And this goes on top of what
I told you all yesterday about Senator Katie Britt and
(09:29):
her fucking pregnancy database right to monitor and track pregnant people. Like,
what are we doing here? How did we get to
this place like it just does? It's so shocking and
(09:50):
crazy and obscene that this is what the Republican Party
is advocating for. We don't have a multi party system,
so one party believes in children's rights, believes in women's rights,
(10:10):
and the other wants us to live in the eighteen
hundreds in more ways than one, because hello, remember Arizona,
we had to have a whole hoop line in the
headlines in order to have them were sind in eighteen
sixty four law banning abortion before women could vote, and
(10:33):
people black people in this country were still enslaved. What
the fuck are we doing? So for folks again that
find themselves in a place of struggle on who should
we vote for or maybe not at all, I want
(10:55):
to bring to your direct attention the shit that the
Republican Party is doing in places like Alabama, Florida, Missouri, Tennessee,
Texas and thinking that, oh, because I live in New
York or California, that like, I'm good. Not if Donald
(11:16):
Trump becomes president. You fucking are not, because all of
these outrageous things that we are seeing happen will be
nationalized with the fucking quickness, on top of the fact
that it'll be our last presidential election. So I'm just like,
(11:39):
maybe Democrats and Biden maybe want to stop paying attention
to Donald Trump. Maybe mainstream media wants to direct their
cameras to the fascist takeover that is happening, that is
regressing our laws to like the nineteenth century. It's mind blowing.
(12:06):
And I continue to say that the courts are not
going to save us. Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell made
sure of that. The Supreme Court is bought out right.
That for sale sign stays on the front of that
(12:26):
building where a quality and justice for all used to be.
So the only thing that is going to stop Donald
Trump and these Republicans is us. That's it. You know,
(12:47):
there is no saving outside of voting in November, and
not just voting, but voting for Joe Biden. In all
the ways that I have said, I don't want to.
I wish we had a better candidate. I also wish
we had a better fucking country. But you know what,
(13:09):
we don't. We really don't. America is a farce. But
it's the only place that we got, and so we
might as well be in a position where we are
able to improve and iterate off of where we are,
(13:32):
as opposed to being dragged to hell, because those are
apparently the only two options that we have right now.
It's extraordinary, it really is. And I remember when I
really wanted Donald Trump to go down where I really
you know, as the indictments were coming out, I'm like,
(13:54):
we're finally gonna get him. This man has been lying
and stealing and rifting for decades, right, and we're finally
going to get him. And then you see that the
court system is working exactly how it was made up
to to protect white men and to protect their property
and their wealth. Period. So the last trick that we
(14:22):
have in our bag is us And what I'm concerned about, frankly,
are the latest polls which have Joe Biden down roughly
five percent or five percentage points in every important swing state.
(14:44):
Now here's the thing. You guys know that I don't
care about polls. But what I do care about are
the people in my comments section. What I do care
about are you know, young people on social media saying
that they're not going to vote. You know what I
do care about are people being like, yeah, I can't
(15:06):
bring myself to do it, and that becoming not a
fringe group of people that are saying this, but it
becoming a growing mass of people that are saying this.
We have to understand that elections these days, they're not
one by the millions. In some cases they're not even
(15:31):
one by the tens of thousands. They're won by a
handful of votes. Lauren Babart is sitting in Congress right
now because she won her last election by five hundred
and forty six votes. Volks like these are the numbers
that we're talking about. So if people in Michigan are
(15:54):
saying we're not going to vote for Joe Biden right
because of what he's doing in israe Gazo, which I
agree right that what he is doing and aiding at
a betting is a genocide and is horrendous. But I
also know that Donald Trump will have the ability to
do what net Niyahu is doing in Israel here in
(16:17):
the United States because he'll only keep the generals around
that agree with him, that are willing to break the law.
Because what are laws like? That's the other thing that
we have to think about. Laws are really just an
agreement that is made between representatives and the people. Slavery
(16:43):
was legal, the Holocaust was legal, Apartheid was legal, do
you know what I'm saying. So it's just like all
you need is for somebody to come in and change
the laws, which is what Donald Trump will do, which
is what Project twenty twenty five is built to do.
(17:04):
So for the folks that are saying, like, well, our
institutions held the first time, barely, we're fucking here. Donald
Trump has forever changed the political discourse and political norms,
our justice system, and he didn't need to be president
(17:26):
for more than four years to do it. He changed
everything for the absolute fucking worst. So when we look
at this now with folks at the time of this recording,
(17:48):
one hundred and seventy three days, that's how long we have.
I'd be lying to you if I told you I
wasn't terrified. I would be lying to you if I
told you I had a good feeling about how this
is all going to play out. I really do not.
(18:13):
I do not have a good feeling. I am terrified
because I don't think that enough people are willing to
do what it takes in order to prevent the Republican
fascist takeover. I think that people still think that there
are reasonable Republicans to collaborate with. There aren't and the
(18:44):
ones that have spoken out have been excommunicated from the party.
So the Republican Party of our Youth right, it's dead.
What is in its place are people that believe that
(19:04):
children should be put to work, put inside of marriages
at the age of fourteen, that believe that books are
more dangerous than guns, that think that women should be
monitored by the state and criminalized for making choices about
(19:27):
their own lives, that believe that utilizing your voice and
advocating and protesting makes you a terrorist, and doesn't think
that you should have the ability to vote at all.
So they're telling us, you know, they're not going to
(19:53):
do a bait and switch. Oh, we're going to run
on all of these terrible things like taking away people's
ability to have children via IVF, but then forcing you
into birth, but how we want you to have birth
and when we want you to do it, monitoring pregnant
(20:13):
women's travel, but then want to look and point at
what countries like Iran and say how oppressive they are.
Is that a joke? This is the white Christian nationalist, regressive,
wet dream of this party that is unfolding right before us,
(20:37):
And they are telling us, step by step, moment by moment,
legislation by legislation, what they want done nationally. So the
question is do we let them? That's it? Do we
let them do. We just give over what's left of
(20:57):
the powers that we have and say to the Republican Party,
do with us what you will, because that is what
we are saying. When folks are deciding one hundred and
seventy three days ahead of an election that they're not
gonna vote, or that they're not gonna vote for Joe Biden,
(21:18):
or they're gonna vote for third party. I can't think
of anything more pressing than activating as many people as
possible to do the right thing, even if it is hard,
because it's our last stand after that, God help us.
(21:44):
That is it for me today, Dear friends on wokf
as always, power to the people and to all the people. Power,
Get woke and stay woke as fuck.
