Speaker 1 (00:11):
Good morning, peeps, and welcome to woke f Daily with
me your girl, Daniel Moody recording from the Home Bunker. Folks,
I'm going to start today on this Woke Wednesday with
just sharing some honesty, which is what woke Wednesday has

(00:31):
been about. It's been about, you know, let me run
through headlines, let me tell you what to be woke to,
and all of these things. And folks, I got to
tell you that I am struggling. I am struggling. I
am struggling. The last several weeks have been absolutely reprehensible,

(00:52):
and I am struggling with this current administration. I am
struggling with the idea that we have a lack of
choice and a lack of leadership at this moment in time.
What do I mean by that President Biden had said

(01:16):
that Israel and that Yahoo invading Rafa would be a
red line? I would think that a red line would
have been crossed. Oh, I don't know, thirty seven thousand
deaths ago. I would have thought that the red line
would have been crossed when you had the IDF continuing

(01:42):
to deny humanitarian aid, medicine, food, that when one of
their weapons of war has been to starve two million
people to death. Well, now the supposed red line that
this administration has had around Rafa has transpired because net

(02:05):
nyahou has been playing chess. I don't know what the
fuck Biden is playing. To be honest, I don't even
know if he's in the game. Biden has followed the
same line of thinking around Israel that all past presidents
have followed. It's not new, this capitulation, this you know,

(02:29):
ironclad quote unquote relationship between Israel and the United States.
My problem with that is deep because I don't know
what country outside of Israel gets aid that has absolutely

(02:52):
no conditions to it whatsoever, just a constant stream of
money does no matter how bad you act, it doesn't
matter what laws you break. You get to do whatever
you want. And then if America decides to move in
a different way, then guess what the entire country is
anti Semitic because apparently in a democracy you're allowed to

(03:17):
question everything as long as it is okay with the oppressor.
So I find myself struggling because I'm losing friendships and
followers because I'm asking questions as I record this. This

(03:45):
week is Holocausts remembrance and The question that I have
is how do we want to be remembered in this moment?
And when people utter the phrase during Holocaust Remembrance Day,

(04:06):
never again, who are they actually talking about. What does
that actually mean? Does it mean never again to one
specific group of people, or does it mean that we
will never allow for there to be committed against another
human being the types of atrocities that we are seeing

(04:29):
right now that have been going on for the last
seven months in Gaza and now in Rotha. I understand
that Jewish Israelis were murdered. I understand that there are
people that are still being held hostage. I also understand

(04:54):
that if Netanyahu gave a fuck about those people, that
he would have been open to diplomacy, which he has
not been because his goal and the goal of his
radicalized cabinet inside of the Kanesset, is not about returning

(05:15):
the hostages to their families. It is about eradicating the
Palestinian people. So I'm going to say something that is
going to make everybody uncomfortable. Are we okay with that?
Are we okay with saying that the ends justify the
means that, oh, well, you can't follow rules of law

(05:40):
and rules of war that have been set up because
we're fighting against a terrorist organization. Then tell me what
makes the IDF any different than Hamas, except one is
really well funded. Because if you look at the things
that the Israeli Defects Force has been doing over the

(06:02):
last several fucking months, and you swap out Israeli and
put in Russian, what kind of hot energy would be
coming out of this administration? Mass graves found at the
sites where hospitals once stood, Those graves unearthed with patients
and medical staff alike with their arms tied behind their backs.

(06:26):
Tell me what threat a doctor or a patient inside
of a hospital is causing to incur that type of
vicious death. Tell me what the fifteen thousand children that
have been murdered, what they have done well? According to
Senator Cotton, you're born a terrorist, so you need to,

(06:53):
just as Nikki Haley said, finish the job. But it
isn't just Republicans. I wish that it was, because that's
where I find my faith in our government completely wavering.
And when I say wavering, folks, I'm gonna say something

(07:13):
else uncomfortable. I honestly don't know how we vote for
Biden in November. I know that we have to, but
I don't know how. I don't know how we stomach it.
And people will tell me, as they have been on
social media, that I am doing this administration a disservice. No,

(07:36):
you know what, I'll tell you, this fucking administration is
doing themselves a disservice. You think I don't understand politics
after twenty years of being in this fucking game, Oh,
I have an idea of how things work and where
the donors are and who gives the most money has
the loudest voice. I also understand why these young people

(08:00):
have been occupying their fucking college campuses the way that
they did in the nineteen eighties against apartheid, the way
that they did in the nineteen sixties against the Vietnam
War and civil rights. And you know what I will
continue to say it that I don't know a student
movement that has been on the wrong side of history.
We have made this issue more complicated than it needs

(08:23):
to be because we have decided whose side we're on.
But when your allies start to act more like terrorists
than allies, where is our ability to question, Where is
our ability to discern right from wrong? Everything is not

(08:47):
fucking absolute. People change situations change. Victims can become victimizers.
Those that are oppressed can become the oppressor. Because if
you have the power and the ability to tell people

(09:07):
how to move, when to move right, whether or not
they can eat, whether or not they can breathe, how
they can live, you're not the oppressed. You are the oppressor.
You become the threat to other people's ability to exist.

(09:32):
That doesn't make you or the trauma that generations of
Jewish people have experienced any less, But the facts are
what the fects are right the fuck now? What is
happening in the name of trauma that was committed seven

(09:53):
of these someone years ago is not okay. It's not okay.
And that's why there are thousands of Israelis that are
in the streets that are calling for the resignation of
this fucking radical right wing homicidal maniac because they don't

(10:15):
want this to be done in their names. Because the world,
the world is now opening up their eyes. The world
is now asking questions, how did we get to the

(10:38):
place of October seventh? What's been happening inside of Israel
and Gaza and the West Bank and Rafa and Ramala
and Jerusalem. What's been going on? What have we been funding?

(11:00):
Because I will tell you, folks from my own experience,
with my own two eyes. Nine years ago, when I
went to Israel and Palestine, I saw things that caused
me nightmares for over a month until I just had

(11:23):
to shut it out of my mind. I came back
broken and disturbed from the trip that I took there
because I had never felt the type of fear and

(11:44):
hatred in front of my face the way that I
felt there. And what was wild is that depending on
who you are, what you look like, what your religion is,
what your ethnicity is, you'll have an entirely different experience

(12:06):
depending on who brings you there. I went with the
Foundation for Italy East Peace on a journalist week long,
in depth journey through this seven decade plus nightmare. It

(12:41):
was a crash course for me because I was going
there as somebody who's only ever followed and focused on
domestic issues, our own racial, racist policies, white supremacy, two

(13:01):
tier justice system. So I was going with an open
mind and open heart and excited to go to this
region of the world that has only been filtered through
mainstream media and Hollywood as like this center of Hell,

(13:23):
the accesses of evil. Right before I went in twenty fifteen,
there was unrest that was unfolding in Jerusalem. There were
attacks and shootings and all of this shit that was
going on, and I almost didn't go on the trip,
but I said, when will I ever have the opportunity

(13:43):
to go with this small cohort of authors and academics
to this region, many of which were well more versed
and studied than I was. So I went, and from
the moment that I stepped off of the plane into
the airport, surrounded by plane clothes, IDF officers asking why

(14:12):
we were there, what we were doing. I had never
felt so unwelcomed upon landing in another country in my
entire fucking life, just by virtue of who was inside
of our group, which was a mix of Persians, black,

(14:32):
white Jewish folks that were in this group questioned from
the moment having to show papers that we were okay
being navigated around, told that this is the road for Israelis,

(14:56):
that's the road for Palestinians. Oh my god, I'd never
seen walls so fucking high that like literally block out
the sun depending on what side you're on the kinds
of humiliation and indignities and security systems that the Palestinian

(15:19):
people are forced to go through. And these Raelies have
no problems saying that, while we need this for our
security because they're trying to kill us. Folks, When I
tell you that, it came to a point when we

(15:39):
were eating dinner outside and whispering in our conversations because
you don't know who is listening, who's in a plane,
close officer, who is not If you say the wrong thing,
ask the wrong question, the eye of the people inside

(16:04):
of the West Bank, of the Palestinians, the absolute evaporation
of hope like it is, Oh my god, I can't
explain it. And I was so naive because I thought

(16:24):
to myself, well, if people really understood what was happening here,
then of course they would speak out, and of course
things would change. I had no idea that everyone knows,
everyone that is in power knows, every administration that has

(16:47):
ever come in to the White House knows, whether it's
a Republican or Democrat. They know what the fuck has
been going on over there. It was the rest of
us then until October seventh, and the month's following the
masses of the American people did not know and did
not know where three to four billion dollars of our

(17:10):
tax dollars are going to every year and what it's
going to fund Israel security. No, it's going to fund apartheid.
Where did they learn it? America, the same place that

(17:30):
Hitler learned how to conduct the Holocaust. All he did
was do what the UK and the United States had
been doing over centuries. He just sped it up. But
we don't talk about that. We think that he concocted

(17:55):
the encampments, the internments, the chain, the torture, He was
the mastermind. He made that all up. No, the fuck
he did not. He had expert teachers in terms of segregationists.

(18:17):
Go back and look at the documents of the enslavers
and what they were doing to enslaved Africans, to the
Native Americans that they put on what in camps, ripping
them from their homeland, the abuse, the torture, the psychological warfare.

(18:42):
All Hitler did was speed up what England and America
have been doing over hundreds of years. That's why it
was so unnerving, because he managed to kill six million
people people in a few years I don't even know

(19:05):
if we know the number truly of enslaved Africans that
were killed during the Middle Passage when they arrived in
the Americas, how many Native Americans were actually slaughtered. So, folks,
I'm struggling because Biden isn't doing anything new. But the

(19:30):
moment is calling for something new. The moment is calling
for honesty, for integrity, for a moral compass, none of
which his administration seems to have. And so what is
this election in twenty twenty four in six months? Sophie's
choice And if you don't know that book, that movie,

(19:55):
that book from nineteen seventy nine, the movie starring Meryl
Streep in nineteen eighty f google that the choice that
she was given as a Polish immigrant who had survived
the Holocaust when the German officers said to her, which
child do you want to live? Because one of them
is gonna die. It's the idea of an unbearable choice,

(20:23):
but one has to be made. And that's where the
fuck we find ourselves now, in this unbearable place. So
I am with you. It is not even a hard
pill to swallow. It's like swallowing a thousand knives, right

(20:45):
now to vote for Joe Biden, but we all know
what the alternative is. But I am with you in
the stress and in the strain of where we find
ourselves in this moment. You are not alone. That is

(21:05):
it for me today. Dear friends on Woke af AS always,
power to the people and to all the people. Power.
