Speaker 1 (00:11):
Good morning, peeps, and welcome to wok F Daily with
Meet your Girl Danielle Moody recording from the Home Bunker, Folks.
I want to first.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Off, just wow, wow, wow wow at the state of
politics in this here country.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
As you all know, Donald Trump has been convicted on
the thirty four felony counts in the election interference aka
hush money trial. And what is so striking to me,
as this reality sanks in, is that Donald Trump is
(00:56):
a twice impeached sexual assault her who has been convicted
of thirty four felonies and is the Republican nominee for president,
and that he's not losing support, if anything, he's probably
gaining support. The way in which his sycophants, this cult
(01:22):
has rallied around him and continues to rally around him
is breathtaking. When Donald Trump said years ago, now fucking
nine years ago now that he could shoot somebody on
the middle of Fifth Avenue and watch his poll numbers
go up, he was absolutely right. I think that Donald
(01:47):
Trump could walk into a school and probably shoot it up,
and you would have you know, Nikki Haley wanting to
autograph the gun, and you would have Tim Scott talking
about those damn children were terrorists. Like that is how
(02:10):
sick and fucking twisted of a place the Republican Party
and this cult find themselves. Donald Trump paid off a
porn star that he had an affair with, not so
that his wife wouldn't find out, but so that the
(02:33):
American people wouldn't find out that the same man that
said when they're a star, when you're a star, they
let you do it. They'll even let you grab him
by the pussy was also fucking porn stars. He didn't
care whether or not Millennia knew, because I'm certain that
she did, right. It's part of the fucking, you know bargain.
(02:58):
You get the money and name, and you know, I
get to do whatever the hell I want. The fact
is is that he didn't want the American people to
know what a disgusting piece of shit he was that
he is. And I think that the Biden Administration's response
(03:23):
to Donald Trump is tep it as best. I still
believe that this campaign, the Biden campaign, is in a
lot of trouble, and I don't think that anything that
happened in New York is going to change that. And
(03:50):
that is the problem. The fact is that Donald Trump
is a convicted felon. Donald Trump could not vote for
himself because we don't allow felons to vote in this country.
But apparently, as a felon, you can still hold the
(04:11):
highest office in the land. It is remarkable, It is ridiculous.
It shows us how many fucking holes remain in our laws,
and how we didn't see this. We couldn't see it.
(04:34):
And by we, I mean the founding fathers that drafted
the constitution, that drafted our laws, couldn't foresee that a
criminal would be able to run for office because they
had more faith in the American people than anything else.
(05:00):
This is what Susan Collins said of the Trump conviction.
It is fundamental to our American system of justice that
the government prosecutes cases because of alleged criminal conduct, regardless
of who the defendant happens to be. In this case,
the opposite has happened. The district attorney, who campaigned on
a promise to prosecute Donald Trump, brought these charges precisely
(05:22):
because of who the defendant was, rather than because of
any specified criminal conduct. The political underpinnings of this case
further blurred the lines between the judicial system and the
electoral system, this verdict likely will be subject of protracted
appeals process. This is coming from a sitting senator, right,
(05:42):
who told us, oh, Donald Trump, seventy something years old,
will learn from his mistakes. Right. These Republicans have decided
that when they are held to account, when their king
is held to account, then the justice system must be flow.
But was it flawed when, oh, I don't know, it
(06:05):
was going after Hunter Biden, when it was going after Menendez,
when it was going after you know, any Democrat that
has been convicted of crimes. Did Democrats come out and
say this must be some type of witch hunt. Donald
Trump is a fucking serial criminal. He's been cheating the
(06:27):
system since he was born. And the fact that they
are trying to undermine our justice system and use it
to their advantage is wild. And the fact again that
this administration is not saying anything of note, is not
(06:54):
offering up the opposite to the American people, which is truth.
And I tell you that, you know, I I was
at an event right after the conviction, the guilty verdict
(07:15):
came in, and you know, I'm sitting at this you know,
wonderful gathering talking about you know, the state of politics,
not just in this country but around the world.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
And what.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Is resonant with me is that there are some older
folks right who want to already blame young people for
their actions on college campuses and their desire for the
Biden administration to be held for account for aiding and
abetting a fascist genocide right that is taking place being
(08:00):
live every day, blaming these young people for calling out
the absolute hypocrisies of the Biden administration and saying that
they're not going to vote or being concerned about how
upset these young people are. And I'm thinking to myself,
(08:20):
do we understand what the class of twenty twenty four
has been through? A global health pandemic, a shutdown. These
are young people that have probably lived through multiple mass shootings,
the world being on fire literally, and now multiple wars,
(08:47):
student loan debt that in some cases is being relieved,
but the Supreme Court said, ah, fuck those kids, right.
So Biden is doing his best to try and relieve
what he can. But the reality here is that Joe
(09:07):
Biden is in trouble, and so I'm not you know, yes,
I am gleeful that Donald Trump has been convicted. Do
I believe that he will appeal absolutely ad nauseum. Do
I think that Donald Trump is going to be sentenced
to jail, No, I don't do. I think that he
should have a lot of privileges revoked in this sentencing,
(09:31):
which is that you can't do business in New York,
something to that effect. I don't know if that can happen,
you know, restriction on your travel, right to be dragged
in the same fucking way that Marilyn Moseby was right.
She used her own money to buy a home and
(09:53):
like was brought up on charges of fraud around it
is serving now a year in home confinement and three
years of probation. After that, she was facing forty years
in prison. I didn't hear Republicans coming out and saying
that that was problematic. No, they said she got what
(10:13):
she deserved. So how then do you look at Donald
Trump and not say the same because they don't fucking care.
So there's no rationalizing with these people. But the fact
is is that if this Biden campaign is banking on
Donald Trump's steadfast support dwindling because he's a convicted felon,
(10:37):
well you've got your answer already. These people shall not
be moved. So what's your play, Because, like I said,
it cannot be that you're the arbiter of democracy. Not
when people are watching Biden throw away this campaign so
(11:00):
that he can lock arms with Israel and that in
Yahoo that he's willing to give up everything that this
country and its citizens have fought for so that he
can have ironclad support for a genocide. You know, they
(11:20):
want to make a statement that says, you know, the
justice system worked, and you know we need to support
our justice system, we respect the rule of blah blah blah,
blah blah blah. It's not enough. It's not enough. And
(11:43):
I don't think that they get it. You know, I
think that ignoring the anger that people are holding against Biden,
for God's and for Rafa, for the deaths of like
fifty thousand plus men, women and children. I don't think
(12:08):
that people are looking at Biden and thinking to themselves
like that's my guy. There is no enthusiasm and this
campaign is going to have to reckon with that over
the next five months because these other cases are not
going to go forward. The sentencing for Donald Trump will
(12:28):
happen on July eleventh. Right, we can all laugh and
joke and share memes, and you know it's good, right,
It's good to have some levity. But the seriousness of
this situation is real. That a convicted felon, a rapist,
a cheat, and a fraud is the best that the
(12:51):
Republican Party could come up with. And he still has
a fifty to fifty chance, if not more, of becoming
president again. And this campaign doesn't know how to mount
a proper defense again. The only reason why Joe Biden
is president is because the American people had had it
(13:12):
with Donald Trump. But when they look at their anxiety,
when they look at their bank account, when they look
around them right now, it's not as if they feel better.
But the situation can indeed get worse. And that's what
people have to understand. That's what people have to take
into account. That twenty states in this country no longer
(13:37):
have access to abortion, that is almost half. Donald Trump
becomes president, there will be a national abortion ban. There
will be a ban on contraception. They will gut the
Department of Education, privatize education with bullshit charter schools to
create a permanent underclass for the new American oligarchs. They
(14:02):
will strip away workers protections, sick days, holidays, certain hours permitted,
all gone. They will get that, they will take away
Medicaid and Medicare, they will do away with the EPA,
allow the big polluters to pollute as much as they want.
(14:26):
There will be no recourse. This is not hyperbolic, This
is facts. This is laid out in Project twenty twenty five.
So again, like it sucks to be in a position
where we're not gleeful about the candidate that we have,
We're not excited about this upcoming election. It's an absolute
(14:49):
shit show, just like the rest of the fucking world.
But what people need to get into their minds is
that things can indeed get worse. They may not be
and they probably won't be great again, despite Donald Trump's
fucking bumper stick or bullshit logo. I think that the
lie that is told is that our responsibility as citizens
(15:13):
only comes around during elections. The elections are supposed to
make us feel better, so to make our lives better,
and then we get to go back to being distracted
with whatever else. That's not the reality anymore, because folks,
what I want you to understand is that MAGA is
never going away. They've multiplied, they've spread, they are a cancer.
(15:36):
It is going to take so much intentional fucking work.
Even if Biden manages to win, this country is still
in incredible danger. We're never again going to be able
to just take elections lightly, because every election is the
most important election. I know that people are tired of
hearing that, but it's the fucking truth. If you care
(15:59):
about your life, you need to be just as vigilant
as you are about your safety on a daily basis,
protecting your home, protecting yourself, protecting your country, because now
we know who the enemies are and they aren't foreign.
So we need to be really fucking clear that while
(16:24):
I am happy that Donald Trump was held accountable, I'm
happy that twelve random jurors in New York had more
conviction and more integrity than the Senate than many judges
(16:45):
then Merrit Garland that they were very clear Donald Trump
broke the law and if it had been any of them,
they know what would have happened. They listened, they deliberated,
and they came back with a verdict. I worry for
(17:06):
those people. Now I worry for Judge Marshat And what
does that say about our country that a president of
the United States was convicted of criminal acts of felonies,
and the jurors had to be protected for fear of
(17:27):
not only tampering, but of harm because he's a mobster
surrounded by fucking criminals. This problem, this energy, is not
going to go away. So we have to decide together
what kind of country we want to be, what kind
(17:48):
of country we want to create for your kids and
your grandkids, right for yourselves, for your neighbors, because that's
what this election is about. Things may be dark, but
they can always get darker, and are we prepared for that.
We have five months and I pray that this administration,
(18:12):
this fucking Biden campaign gets its shit together. But what
I see ahead is a storm. So y'all batten down
the hatches. That is it for me today, Dear friends
on woke ap as always, Power to the people and
(18:36):
to all the people. Power, Get woke and stay woke
as fuck.
