Speaker 1 (00:11):
Good morning, peeps, and welcome to wok F Daily with
Meet your Girl Daniel Moody recording from the home Bunker. Folks.
It has been an extraordinary few weeks in America. First,
we have the closing of the Olympic ceremonies where the
United States won one hundred and twenty six medals, tied
(00:36):
forty medals for gold, with China won medals in like
almost every track and field category. It was an extraordinary
showing from the USA men's basketball team winning gold against
France to the women's US basketball team winning gold against France.
(00:58):
You know, there is something about the olymp that just
brings out a deep level of patriotism in me and
in a lot of people where you get to root
for the best of the best across so many different
fields of athleticism for two weeks, and you know, it's
(01:19):
almost as if every four years during that time, the
world comes together in this amazing, you know, exhibition of
athleticism and showmanship and sportsmanship. Because I think that one
of the things that I loved so much about this
Olympics were really shout out to the women athletes that
(01:42):
were showing levels of sportsmanship across different fields of athleticism,
from volleyball to track and field, to basketball to gymnastics.
That was just beautiful, beautiful and reminding us of how
we all should be and what we should aspire to.
That you can in fact compete but still recognize greatness
(02:07):
and celebrate greatness in other people, and celebrate other people
for their accomplishments. And I think that it is a
great lesson that we get every few years from the
Olympics and those that just wow us with their performances.
I take that now and applaud all of the winners,
(02:30):
and particularly I want to say this about the recent decision,
horrific decision by the IOC, by the Olympic arbitrators to
take away Jordan Chiles' bronze medal win on the floor,
which the United States is going to appeal. You know,
(02:54):
none of us will know what it is like to
work and fight through so much in order to get
to the Olympic stage. For some people, just making it
to the Olympic stage is their greatest feat and celebration
of their country, the ability to put on for their country.
(03:18):
Jordan Chiles, she is beyond. She is a girl's girl,
She is a fighter, She is a champion, and for
the Olympic committee to strip her of a medal that
she rightfully earned, and the only time that that has
ever happened in history has been because somebody was cheating
(03:42):
or doping, not because of an error by the judges.
You know, it makes me so angry as a woman,
as a black woman, because for those that don't know,
black women, regardless of whether you were from the United States,
(04:05):
whatever country around the world, have to fight ten times
harder than everybody else does, always has to be twice
as good, twice as graceful, twice as smart. Just to
be batted back down all the time and to be
stripped of something that you earned and it given to
(04:28):
another team is just such an extraordinary slap in the face.
And I really found myself so hurt for her and
her family and her coaches, because even Simone Biles, you know,
who had invited her to train with her after she
(04:49):
almost left the sport and then fought her way back
to the world stage into the podium, only to be
knocked back again. I really do you pray for her
mental health, for her resilience, and I hope that she
has the support system that is in place that we
(05:10):
see her again and again and again in the top
slot because she has earned it. She is a champion
and she will forever be an Olympian, regardless of what
the Olympic arbitrators decided. And so I just want to
(05:30):
give her an extraordinary shout out because what a major
blow that she is undeserving of. But now from sports,
let's switch gears to where we find ourselves now on
the campaign trail. I have made so many videos over
(05:52):
the past couple of weeks on mainstream corporate media, and
you all know, like you follow me on social media,
I have like about had it, and over the past
couple of weeks, prior to Joe Biden stepping aside in
the race, Joe Biden was berated, humiliated, disrespected by the
(06:19):
press for his age, for questions around his mental fitness,
questions about whether or not he had Parkinson's just berated
in such a disgusting and inhumane matter. And why do
I say it's inhumane Because Joe Biden doesn't have thirty
(06:43):
four felonies, Joe Biden isn't an adjudicated rapist. Joe Biden
isn't sitting down and dining with white supremacts. Joe Biden
didn't call for an insurrection. Joe Biden didn't for the
first time, decide that the peaceful transfer of power was
no longer going to happen. You would think that corporate
(07:09):
media would show the same fucking disrespect and energy that
they have been at Joe Biden to a multiple time
felon who's running for office, that the calls that were
ringing a nauseum for Joe Biden to drop out of
the race. Once Joe Biden did do the most patriotic
(07:33):
and courageous thing by stepping aside and making room in
a path for Vice President Kamala Harris, you would think
that then that ire would be shifted to now the
oldest man in the race for the presidency in the
history of the United States. And also, let me just
say again, an adjudicated rapist, a criminal, a felon, a liar,
(07:57):
a twice impeached piece of garbage. But it's not because
when Donald Trump calls and tells the media to jump,
they all come running and ask how high Donald Trump
has been off of the campaign trail, had been off
of the campaign trail for over a week. There was
(08:21):
no talks about does he not have the stamina, does
he not have the ability? But as soon as he
wanted to call a bullshit press conference from his fucking
living room at mar A Lago, the media came running
and broadcasts him for an hour across all networks. Meanwhile,
(08:45):
Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walls are bringing
in historic crowds to places like Las Vegas, Arizona, Philadelphia, Detroit,
US Who's not being carried live by the networks, while
(09:05):
as of the time of this recording, the cameras are
pointed at an empty podium. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris has about
ten thousand people in the audience at a rally that
she's doing, but again, mainstream corporate media not carrying that live.
And I just want to shout out once again Lawrence O'Donnell,
(09:30):
who late last week did a roughly twenty two minute
monologue on his show blasting mainstream corporate media and his
own network and saying that this is twenty sixteen all
(09:52):
over again, nine years later, after the media was doing
everything in their power to get Donald Trump elected, doing
everything in their power to drag Hillary Clinton through the mud.
Nine years later, we are in the same place. And
(10:13):
here's the thing that I understand. They want Donald Trump
to win. They want fascism, they want to be in
the cool kids club. They want to rub elbows and shoulders,
and they want Donald Trump to like them. So you
will never hear any tough questions or any follow up
(10:33):
questions for that fucking matter, in the way that you
have watched for four years as Biden has been berated,
as his White House Press secretary Kareein Jean Pierre has
been disrespected, and the way that now you have these
quote unquote journalists saying things like, oh, why isn't Kamala
(10:57):
Harris speaking to the press when in fast after all
of her rallies, she is walking up to cameras and
saying what she got. And if I were her, I
would be like, y'all, don't carry me live, so you
all don't get to ask me a fucking thing, because
I'm actually gonna go and speak to the voters. And
this is why I have been saying for so long,
(11:21):
turn off mainstream media, tune in to independent outlets, lift
up independent voices like mine like Mary Trump Media, where
my news show Get woke with Danielle Moody is like
(11:42):
a ten to fifteen minute video show that I am
doing over on that one network, because I am sitting
here and really deciding whether or not I'm going to
continue bothering to do television anymore. There was a time
(12:04):
ten years ago when all I wanted, Folks was a
cable news show. I was putting on the right demeanor.
I was saying yes, even when I was on vacation,
even when it was on holidays, and I was being
asked to come on air, by the way, without any
pay whatsoever. I have never been afforded the financial ability
(12:32):
recognition to become a contributor, no matter how often I
had been asked to be on cable news over the
last ten years. They use and abuse people of color.
You can just look at who loses their jobs or
who is just squeezed and always a carrot dangled out
(12:56):
in front of them saying, oh yeah, yeah, you're up next,
You're up next. We're looking at you for a show.
We're looking at you for a contributorship that never comes.
Watched everyone from Melissa Harris, Perry, Tiffany Cross, Mehdi Hassan.
(13:18):
People get sidelined. All of the people of color who
have shows outside of Joy Reid are bunched up on
two days on the weekend, they sideline on MSNBC their
Muslim hosts during one of the most catastrophic wars in
(13:39):
modern times in favor of their white broadcast team. For
so long, I have kept my mouth closed as not
to offend, and over the last couple of years, I've
moved into a place of I don't give a fuck
(13:59):
because people need to know that you're not getting the truth.
You're getting whatever water down version of whatever the CEOs
and shareholders of those networks want you to get. They
don't care about you, They care about their shareholders. They
(14:19):
care about their CEO. Because I have known for years
that the most important demographic that watches MSNBC, for instance,
black women. But how many black women have shows? And
the other day last week on the Beat with Ari
Melber was my breaking point when Ari Melber decided to
(14:44):
have Stephen Miller on his show, a known white supremacist,
a hateful, lying trump piece of shit go on his
airwaves to and I realize at that point, Oh, you
(15:05):
don't even care, because this is all a game to you.
White supremacy isn't a game. To me, it isn't a
game to the peoples whose lives it threatens, but to
those that sit at those tables, that sit in those
c suites, this is nothing but a horse race. The
(15:28):
fourth estate has been dead. They don't see their roles
or their responsibility to educate the public, to educate this
citizen jury, to make the most important decisions that affect
their day to day lives. This is just Steve Kornaki
at the Big board. This is just an obvious, obvious,
(15:54):
false representation of Democrats that you don't like, don't want
to see when in favor of the access that you
get from Republicans. I said this the other day on
a video that I did on TikTok about Jake Tapper
over at CNN and Dana Bash. They are embarrassments to
(16:16):
the field of journalism. Jake Tapper found himself criticizing Governor
Tim Walls for making a joke about JD Vance getting
off of the couch to come and debate him. Jake
Tapper says, Oh, my goodness, I thought it was gross.
(16:38):
It was revolting. Really, where was that fucking energy around
the transphobia, homophobia, misogyny, racism, that disputed on a regular
basis out of the mouth of Donald Trump and every
Republican that you have on that network. They want to
clutch their pearls over a fucking joke. Meanwhile, Donald Trump's
(17:02):
rhetoric has had members of Congress, judges require security that
we have seen white supremacist violence rise in this country
over the last nine years because of one political party.
But you want to clutch your pearls over that. And
(17:24):
so I have come to a place where I am
just over it, and I don't know after this coming
week if I will continue to say yes when asked
to go on because I don't see what value it
brings and I only want to do things that add value,
(17:46):
that actually help people. And right now, what I am
telling people to do is turn off your television, turn
it off, tune in to your communities, continue with your
zoom call, Continue with your activations in getting out the vote,
continuing with registering people to vote, continuing with volunteering and
(18:09):
donating if you have the ability to do so. Continue
spreading truth, Continue spreading my messages and these episodes and
other people from independent outlets whom you trust. Because the
only thing that is going to change mainstream corporate media
is when they tank, is when we the viewers, say
(18:32):
we've had enough and turn them off. So I am
urging folks, particularly those that love the nerd Avengers over
on Mary Trump Media. Subscribe. There are shows that are
coming out every day of the week on that network.
On YouTube Democracy Ish, my other show with wajahat Ali
(18:54):
has moved over to that network. Subscribe. If you are
high the ability to support me individually on Patreon with
a five dollars a month donation, understand that your contributions
allow me to continue going because as a entrepreneur, as
(19:16):
a content creator, I actually rely on your investment. It
is what has gotten me through and continue to have
me have this type of work and politics be my
main focus. I would not be able to do this
without all of you. The newsletter that I put out
(19:40):
twice a month, the Damn Digest, you can go to
Daniellemudy dot com and sign up for free. It's a
free newsletter that I'm putting out. But I ask that
if you have the ability to cash app to Zell
to Benmo, do so a dollar two dollars, because those
are the types of supp rather than giving two hundred
(20:02):
and three hundred dollars to fucking you know, your cable
package that is literally turning on cable news so that
they can lie to you because they do not have
a vested interest in the truth. Because for them, they'll
be safe regardless of who is in the White House.
The rest of us not so much. So we have, folks,
(20:26):
eighty five days, eighty five days from the time of
this recording until the election. Do not fall into the
trap that corporate mainstream media wants you to fall in
to believe that a either you don't need to do
anything because Kamala Harris is up in the polls, or
(20:50):
just keep feeding you Donald Trump's bullshit diatraps and make
you feel hopeless again. Tune them out, tune in to
your unity, tune in to doing the work. And as
Governor Wall says, we will sleep when we're dead. It
is going to take every single one of us reaching
(21:13):
out to ten of our friends, family members, colleagues, getting
them engaged, getting them hyped up, and getting them to
the polls for us to pull off the impossible. But
for the first time in a long time, I believe
that we can do it because I am seeing the
energy I am feeling, the hopefulness, and my mustard seed
(21:36):
of hope has grown into a field, a field of
actual dreams that I believe that we can realize. But
the work ahead is still the work ahead, And this
is the time when I'm telling people to dig in
and to tune out the noise and tune in to
what needs to get done, because if you keep relying
(21:59):
on corporate mainstream media, we're gonna get the same results
we did in twenty sixteen, and you know what, this
time around, we won't be able to bounce back. That
is it for me today. Dear friends on Woke af
AS always, power to the people and to all the people. Power,
(22:21):
get woke and stay woke as fuck.
