w h d Z in Tampa, Florida. Sure hope you

(00:23):
can join us live and make us a part of
your morning routine. In the meantime, enjoy the podcast what
are y'all doing? This is awful?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Two three Starting your morning off right, A new way
of talk, a new way of understanding because we're in
this togidit. This is your morning show with Michael O'Dell charm.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Pretty much just summed up. But all the media is
going to be saying all day today. Rallies held around
the world, not just America, in all fifty states around
the world to protest the recent actions taken by the
Trumpet administration. Stock futures plunging, giving an indication of what
may be to come and Monday and maybe not Yeah,

(01:10):
who's coming to the White House today? And maybe in
the midst of all of this red celebrating because the
Yukon Lady Huskies are winners of their twelfth women's national
basketball championship. I will say to you what we said
to the Gabe formerly of the lou now down in Florida.
Turn in your man card. Good morning, and welcome to Monday,

(01:33):
April seventh year of Our Lord, twenty twenty five on
the Aaron streaming live on your iHeartRadio app. This is
your day, this is your morning show. I'm Michael del Journal.
That's really it. You know, the narratives are going to
be pretty consistent today. Sky is falling, it's an economic
disaster and markets are crashing. What are y'all doing? It's thowful.

(01:57):
But do the narratives really make sense? And do they
really a match a long term reality? And the answer
is they simply can't. Germany, the decks opened up down
nine percent. London was down five percent. Japan's benchmark benchmark
closed seven point nine percent lower. Hong Kong the benchmark

(02:23):
index closed more than thirteen percent lower in its worst
single trading day since nineteen ninety seven. There's a playing
field being level, and that's worldwide. That's not media wide.
Media is focusing. You even got Kamala Harrison Awards salad

(02:44):
this weekend trying to say I told you so. Probably
the only honest one of them of them all was
was coach Timmy. It was pretty much agreed with the
United Auto Workers. We've been shopted for decades. So the
media is pointing all at Donald Trump, all of the

(03:06):
American markets that are doing nearly as bad as the
European markets, the Asian markets, Japanese markets, the world. Now
do you think the entire world is going to continue
to take these hits? They're not following the media. I
want to start just to kind of myth busting, narrative busting,

(03:31):
and I'm again we have it on our list of commandments.
We just don't break them. We don't tell you how
to think, but we give you a lot to think about.
I'm not defending the President's tariffs. I am challenging the
one sided narrative, which was every piece of sound from

(03:55):
this weekend the talking head shows. I find this opening
volley to be worth listening to. Let's go to George Stepanophilis,
who is disguised as a morning television host and then

(04:16):
host of a weekend ABC This Week talking head show.
He's a Democrat operative from the Clinton administration. But watch
his question and note the answer don right away.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Now he's saying, hang tough, it won't be easy. How
higher price is going to go? How long will they
stay there?

Speaker 4 (04:34):
I actually saw in this story that you just gave, George,
there's kind of like a logical disconnect between the stories,
the competing stories that your team is using to attack
President Trump. On the one hand, you're saying that the
countries are really angry and they're going to have to retaliate.
On the other hand, you're saying that consumers are going
to bear the cost and it's going to drive and
inflace it up. But if US consumers are bringing the costs,

(04:55):
there's no reason for the countries to be angry.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
I mean, think of the creative busting wisdom of Kevin Hassett.
I'm not saying I want you to be pro tariff
or I don't want to feed the narrative of being
anti tariff. Just understand the narrative. It's inconsistent and impossible

(05:21):
if you're if the market is crashing. Wouldn't that impact
the rich not the working class? And yet what were
millions marching about this weekend? Well, it was clear they
were against Elon Musk and Trump and millionaires and billionaires.

(05:45):
That was their I mean, their list of demands is
a segment in and of itself, and the billionaire takeover.
If this is a billionaire takeover, why would they make
their first move to destroy their portfolios? And the slashing
of federal funds for medicaids, social security and other programs.

(06:07):
This is their terms, This is where their demands A
million people went out was science based on lies, narrative.
They're not real, nobody's cutting Medicare, social Security and other programs.
In fact, they're getting rid of waste and fraud so
that more money would flow to them. Put an end
to the attacks on immigrants. We've deported criminals. I don't

(06:35):
know trans people were attacked based on a sports ruling
I like this one and other communities. That's right up
there with the classic rock station that played the best
rock and roll from the seventies, eighties and more, whoever
she is and more and other communities. So these are

(06:57):
just narratives out of control. But what is the White House?
Look at the loaded question from the Democrat operative disguised
as a TV host, George stephanovlis, how high are these
prices going to go? Right away?

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Now he's saying, hang tough, it won't be easy. How
high a price is going to go? How long will
they stay there?

Speaker 4 (07:16):
I actually saw in this story that you just gave, George,
there's kind of like a logical disconnect between the stories,
the competing stories that your team is using to attack
President Trump. On the one hand, you're saying that the
countries are really angry and they're going to have to retaliate.
On the other hand, you're saying that consumers are going
to bear the cost, that it's going to drive inflace
it up. But if US consumers are bringing the costs,

(07:38):
there's no reason for the countries to be angry. So
the fact is the countries are angry and retaliating and
by the way, coming to the table. I got a
report from the USTR last night that more than fifty
countries have reached out to the president to begin a negotiation.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Yeah, there's China. China's having six times the market losses,
Japan's having twice the market losses, Europe's having four times
the market law they're going to come to the table.
The reality is the market is down due to uncertainty,

(08:12):
but certainty will arrive. Whether you're for this or against this,
a certainty will arrive. I don't know how much of
this I can do. I'd love to do all of it.
Let me give you the Quicksmidge, and then I'll give
you the big picture later in about fifteen minutes. This

(08:35):
is Victor David Hanson on the Daily Signal explaining reality,
not hysteria and narrative, whether you're four or against tariffs.
Because if this is a war, it's not going to
last very long. And it's pretty obvious who looks like

(08:58):
they're going to be the early winner, and it's also
pretty obvious who's been the big loser for five decades.
So again, not trying to tell you how to think,
just giving you some things to think about. Here's Victor
David Hanson explaining Trump's tariffs in a sensible, non hysterical way. Listen.

Speaker 5 (09:18):
April third, Donald Trump announced it as Liberation Day. By
that he meant we were going to be liberated from
asymmetrical tariffs.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Over the last fifty years.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
And it was going to inaugurate, and knew what he
called Golden Age of trade parody, and yet the world
seemed to erupt an anger. It was very strange, which
brings up another question. Are our tariffs really tariffs? That
is where they preempted? Were they punitive? No, they're almost
leveled on the.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Autopilot whatever, don't almost leveled on an autopilot. Look, who's
the finger pointed at in the one sided narrative hysteria?
Just Donald Trump? Where is the finger pointed at the pain?
Just American stock market? Never mind jobs report was up

(10:11):
and higher than expected. Nevermind oil is down based on
the stock market falling. And no, I don't like it.
But at fifty nations are at the table negotiating today,
something tells me this isn't going to last very long
and it'll go right back up. So the big question becomes,

(10:39):
are our tariffs really tariffs? Don't miss this last line.
Are our tariffs really tariffs? That is where they preempted?
Were they punited? No, they're almost leveled on the AutoPIPE.

Speaker 5 (10:51):
Whatever a particular country tariff's off, we reciprocate and just
mirror image. In other words, it's their choice, not ours.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Their choice not ours, just as it has been our
choice to do nothing. How's that working for manufacturing, for
jobs for the good of our nation. If they don't
like these tariffs, all they have to do is lower

(11:20):
their original ones, and the penalty tariffs are half of
what have been imposed on us for half a century. Again,
I can't be more clear than to say, I'm not
trying to make you be pro what Donald Trump is doing.

(11:45):
I'm just trying to make sure you understand the one sided,
hysterical narrative that is logically illogical. If you want to
say prices are going to go through the roof, how
far and how long? Then why would these nations be angry?

(12:08):
That makes no sense if you're going to pay for it.
If it's just that simple, the president raises a tariff,
A tariff is a tax. It'll be paid for by consumers.
This is going to be a disaster, then why are
these other countries angry? It'll be business as usual for them, right.

(12:28):
I mean, you can't have it both ways. Pick one.
All you're going to hear throughout the day to day
is the sky is falling and the reality is the
market is temporarily falling. I mean, the reality is the
other countries markets is falling much worse. I think that's

(12:53):
going to make them want to come to the table
and talk. And if this all ends with a lower
farer playing field for all, than watch the market soar.
Just make sure I always say this, and then even
I have to be careful. You can get sucked into
these narratives, don't I want to play more. I don't

(13:20):
know how much we can get in. But Victor David
Hanson is a very very smart mind, and he is
a lone voice along what I shouldn't say that, along
with Marco Rubio and the President and others that will
explain this sensibly to you. I mean, God forbid we
give you any sense of hope this morning.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Right.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
We also have AOC beating Chuckie Schumer big in his
Senate race. I keep saying that it's so obvious to
see she's the heir apparent to the Bernie Sanders crowd,
and so their goal is to get her to the Senate,
to get her to run for president. If you don't
think somebody is dumb in your mind as AOC could

(14:04):
be a leading candidate, well then you didn't pay attention
in twenty twenty or twenty sixteen or twenty twenty four
for that matter, they put senile dementia right on the
ticket and rode it into the White House. Oh, they
could do AOC now. They'll step in just like they
did with Hillary, just like they did with Biden, and

(14:27):
just like they did with Kamala. The party won't let
it happen, but the voters would choose AOC and her
first steps looking really good. Take out Chuckie Schumer, which
is a part of the socialist justice strategy too, and
then young socialists making their move on the Democrat Party.
Something I've always reminded you, this is a two sided
war for the Democrats. They're at war with themselves and

(14:50):
partisanally with Republicans. That rears its head big today. Ovechkin
broke the record. I will still refer to Wayne Gretzky
as the great one the I think the ratings for
the final four were the highest in seven years or more.
And boy did you see two one both for the

(15:10):
ages in semi finals. And a little something about what
I'm calling mister bracket diamond Mikey Noster del Journo. Wait,
do you hear where I rank out of twenty five
million bracket filler outers that more between now and the
end of the.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Show, It's your Morning Show with Michael del Journo.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
Rallies held around about the world really Saturday and certainly
in all fifty states to protest the recent actions of
President Trump and stock markets.

Speaker 6 (15:45):
Oh boy, here we go again, passing out on a
Monday noster still'sjorno.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
I bet it is.

Speaker 7 (15:52):
Foot began with the neck of red, not that red,
the redneck and the constant criticism.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Of the of cs. May it be stated, it's not
nice to mess with no datcha. Hey, hey doc, Dad, Dad, Okay,
all right, what happened? I don't know you passed out again?
First thing? What did I say? Something about Red Nickerson?

(16:23):
And then don't I had to do with Corey the
yard boy constantly making fun of my sports analysis. Yes,
my bracket nationwide is in the top seven percent. As
the Cougars will face the Gators tonight for a national championship.
Should shock know what? The Gators will win? And I
will get a sweatshirt from ESPN more after the news

(16:44):
when we come back.

Speaker 8 (16:47):
Hey, everybody's john Ford Coley of England, Dan and John
Ford Coley and my morning show is your Morning Show
with Michael del journal.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
Hi.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
It's me Michael. Your Morning Show can be heard live
daily on great radio stations like News Radio six fifty
k E NI Anchorage, Alaska, Talk Radio eleven ninety Dallas,
Fort Wort, and Freedom one O four seven in Washington,
d C. We'd love to have you listen live every day.
Make us a part of your morning routine. But better
late than never. Enjoyed the podcast.

Speaker 9 (17:23):
Many years ago over the animated movie Because Planet fifty one.
The scene in the movie is a bunch of people protesting,
but not knowing what they're protesting. They're chanting and carrying
signs that say we're upset, We're upset. I think that's
a pretty good description of what happens Saturday.

Speaker 10 (17:39):
Just to follow up on your excellent point about just
simple logic, why if the tariffs are so bad, if
they're going to raise consumer prices and cause inflation, didn't
it raise prices cause inflation for the hundreds of countries
who've done it to us for decades?

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Does it make sense we support President Trump. He's fighting
for us, the working piece in the middle class, you
have the good work. And by the way, how did
the computer know to play blue collar man by sticks?
Tell me that's not almighty Gord tom Z and Akron Ohio,
you are simply and it's the collar of the deck.

(18:18):
I gonna be harkness, jock shit? Why are they on
this time? Why was why was like so rough on Teina?

Speaker 5 (18:28):
Look at that beautiful girl and voice.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
All right, it's thirty six minutes after the hour. Good morning,
and welcome to your morning show on the air and
streaming live on your iHeartRadio app. I am your humble host,
Michael del Jordan. We're all waking up to hysteria, narrative hysteria.
This guy is falling. We're all going to die. Markets
are crashing. It's an it's an economic disaster. By the way,
I'd like to get back to my bracket. If I
could more about you, Okay, go ahead. I I him

(19:00):
famous for being a great cultural and political seer of seers.
John Decker learned that one the hard way. Yes, John Decker,
of course, in our showdown which by the way, what
did I what did I win? I know I get
to go to Washington, But do I get to go
to the White House.

Speaker 6 (19:16):
With the trip, you get to go to the White
House and see the press room, and well, he's a
nerd with the electoral College map like I am.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
And so the morning of the election we had our
great reveal. And our great reveal was he said Kamala
Harris was going to win the presidency with I think
it was two hundred and eighty something electoral votes, and
I said, no, Donald Trump's going to win with three
hundred and twelve. And he said, well, how's Donald Trump
going to win threehundred twelve? You have him winning every
swing stake And my response was, well, if he wins one,

(19:46):
he'll win them all for the same reason, And of
course I was right. So but this is like an
ongoing for eighteen years in Nashville. People like to make
fun of me because as much as I can see
political politics clearly and culture clearly, I'm awful when it
comes to sports. And if I say Tennessee's gonna win,
boocket book it all right, the other team they're gonna lose.

(20:10):
So I've been called the Jinks. So I fill out
my bracket and I remember we were on the air
and I gave the logic to it. And how everything's going,
and who I thought could be a sin But I
didn't see any cinderellas, not any real cinderellas. And you
took all the number ones down. And then I said,
I've never done this before, but I have all number
ones making it to the final four, which you know
can't happen. So it happened. I say all this to

(20:32):
say I thought it was gonna be my worst bracket ever.
Turns out I'm in the ninety nine point nine percent
percentile of brackets out of twenty five million, I'm in
the top seven thousand, And I don't know. I would
imagine there's more that took the Gators over Houston. But

(20:53):
I think if the Gators win tonight, seven fifty CBS,
Ala Domin Alamodoman, San Antonio, Michael the Greek. Yeah, only
without this scandal, right, So I would think I'm gonna
end up around top four thousand if the Gators win.
I don't know what I'd fall to if they lose.
Either way, I think I get a sweatshirt from ESPN. No,

(21:16):
you do the top five percent all get a present,
get one of those cheesies speaker jackets that you used
to get of your favorite team. It turns out I
was like the seer of Sears. And of course I
had the final four go well. I had the entire
lead eight as well. But in the final four I
had Florida defeating Auburn and they did seventy nine seventy three,

(21:37):
and I had Houston defeating Duke and they did seventy
to sixty seven. And I still don't know how, and
I watched it.

Speaker 6 (21:42):
I can't figure out how anybody picked Houston over Duke.
I mean, you you cannot do that in your mind,
make that well work.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
At the time I did it, it was just a
lack of respect for the conference a little bit, you know,
and in Houston's defense and back. But as it turned out,
I mean, who could have thunk Duke just wouldn't score
for ten minutes? Right, fall apart, unthinkable, greatest chokes since

(22:11):
Mama cass Although isn't that a way? But isn't By
the way, isn't that not real? She didn't really choke
to death. That's this rumor out there yet that she
just had a heart attack. She wasn't really choking on
a sandwich, right, Although John Belushi doing her choking on
a sandwich or chicken bone was a classic Sara Night Live.
So we do have the final four set the national Championship.

(22:33):
For the men, it'll be the Gatas of Florida and
the Cougars of Houston. Tonight seven fifty Central on CBS.
The Connecticut Huskies, the Lady Huskies, winners of the twelfth
women's National Basketball Championship. That was a good seer of
sears by you read, because that wasn't predicted at all.
They had a major upset in the semi finals and

(22:54):
in the finals they won by an average thirty points
a game. They just came right back to the top,
didn't they. And Israelly Prime Minister b Benetna who's coming
to the White House today? And stock futures are plunging,
giving an indication that Monday may go the way of
Thursday and Friday. Well, if our market is plunging or
plung plummeting or crashing, what are the markets around the world. So,

(23:22):
and again I'm just kind of showing you the narrative,
and the narrative isn't logical. So the narrative is all
focused only on the US, and the fingers are all
pointing at Donald Trump, and it's based on the market
Wall Street, not the economy. All right, fine, you want
to play that game. Play it. The United States market

(23:44):
is expected to be down four percent again today. Well,
Germany was nine percent, so that's less than half. London
was down five percent, so it's less than London. Japan
was down seven point nine percent, so it's almost exactly
half of that. China had one market, one of the
two markets down thirteen the other down seven point three,
so anywhere from half to four times less. I mean,

(24:14):
if this is a Donald Trump mistake induced market crash,
why are the other countries crashing worse? Or to Tom
z and are simply best caller of the day. If
this is going to create economic disaster inflation, why aren't

(24:38):
all the nations that have been tariffing US broke? And
why is there markets down even worse? Nobody wants to
at the end of the day be pro tariff, but
that's not going to be the destination. Fifty nations have
come forward over the weekend to negotiate, and based on
the market today, I would you know, if we were

(25:02):
going to be down another four percent and those markets
are doing fine, I'd say, man, this is going to
be a very expensive high price to pay. I hope
America's got the stomach to pay it to win in
the long run. But we're winning already. Their markets are
doing way worse than ours. These aren't punitive, they're reciprocal.

(25:27):
If somebody wants to restore market confidence and fairness, they
can simply call the White House. I'll bet they'll even
take a collect call. All right, if you're just waking up.
Top five stories of the day, No more, oh No.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik says the power of the US

(25:48):
needs to be reset. More from Mark Mayfield, appearing on
CBS Space the Nation.

Speaker 8 (25:53):
Letnink said the new global tariffs put in place by
the Trump administration were to address a national security issue.

Speaker 11 (26:00):
War and we can't build a ship, we can't fly
a plane, we can't build our own planes, we don't
have our own semiconductors. This is what the president is
here to fix for America.

Speaker 8 (26:10):
The e Commerce secretary set of things kept going how
they were. Eventually the rest of the world would have
owned the US, but nex said the tariffs will stay
in place as President Trump seeks to reset global trade.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
I'm Mark Mayfield. Over a million bible took part in
an anti Trump protests Saturday. Rallies were held in all
fifty states as well as around the world. The media
would like you to get hysterical over see the whole
world thinks Trump's bad. In response to Trump's actions, organizers
of Hands Off protests also took aim at Elon Musk,

(26:43):
saying they have three demands. An end to billionaire takeovers
and rampant corruption of the Trump administration. Elon Musk is
on a task force revealing corruption that already exists. That's
not the act of corruption. That's the revealing of corruption. Misspending,
bureaucracy and overspending would actually create more flow of dollars

(27:06):
to those areas of need, not less certain they're not
putting in their pockets. They're also demanding an end to
slashing federal funds to medicate social security and other programs.
There has been no talk of cutting medicate social security
or other programs. In fact, by eliminating the bureaucracy, misspending

(27:29):
and fraud, more money would flow to medicate social security
and other programs. And and the attack on immigrants or
not just randomly attacking immigrants These are people who have
broken the law after breaking the law. These are gang members,
drug lords, human traffickers. And I don't think keeping biological

(27:54):
men out of women's sports is an attack on trans people.
But that's their list of demands. Well. The US talk
futures are looking down, giving an indication of what may
come this Monday as a rough Thursday and Friday turns
into potentially a rough Monday. President Trump Sunday said he

(28:15):
wasn't sure what Monday would hold. Now, what's gonna happen
with the market. I can't tell you.

Speaker 12 (28:18):
What I can tell you how our country has gotten
a lot stronger, and eventually it'll be a country like Noah.
It'll be the most dominant country economically in the world.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
The Dow, S and P five hundred nastic futures all
fell roughly four percent Sunday. The Dow saw back to
back losses of over fifteen hundred for the first time
ever last week, while the SMP took a six percent
drop on Friday, the worst since March of twenty twenty. But,
as we mentioned, Germany's down nine percent overnight, London five
point two, Japan seven point nine, China thirteen. They're feeling

(28:54):
it even worse. Something tells me they may be ready
to talk soon. Speaking of ready to talk, Bote, France.
This has made his first public appearance since his discharge
from the hospital. Two weeks ago.

Speaker 13 (29:04):
Pope Francis attended the Jubilee Mass for the Sick, entering
Saint Peter's Square at the Vatican in a wheelchair. The
eighty eight year old pontiff gave his blessing to the
faithful as the celebrant. Pope Francis told the crowd quote,
have a good Sunday everyone, Thank you so much. A
text released by the Vatican said Francis is praying for doctors,
nurses and health workers who are not always helped to

(29:25):
work in adequate conditions, and sometimes even victims of aggression.
The Pontiff's voice sounded stronger than when he addressed well
wishers outside of Jamelli Hospital on the day of his
release March twenty third, after a five week hospital stay.
I'm Lisa Cartman.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
Well. Doctor j North, who played Dennis Mitchell in the
nineteen sixty sitcom Dennis the Menace has died at seventy
three years old. Doroth have been fighting cancer for a
number of years, passing away at his home in Florida
on Sunday. He was seventy three years old. In Spots. Yeah,
finally happened. The great one was on hand when OV

(30:05):
got eight to ninety five to become the all time
leading goal scorer. I loved what Gretzky said before it happened,
and it cut his travel expenses greatly. He said, Gordy,
how was there when I did it. I'm going to
be there when OVI does it. He was, and Ovie
did it. Yesterday, even though the Caps lost four to one,
Red Wings won two to one over the Panthers, and
the Press, of course lost two to one at home

(30:26):
to them All Canadians and basketball Lakers by twenty seven
over the thunder Kings beat the Calves won twenty one
to thirteen. Sons lost to the Knicks one twelve ninety eight,
and the Blazers won twenty one oh nine over the Spurs.
NCAA National Championship Tonight, the Florida Gators and the Houston
Cougars from the Alamo Dome seven fifty on CBS and

(30:47):
baseball Tigers won four to three over the White Sox,
Padres eighty seven over the Cubbies. Cardinals lost two at
Fenway one five to four, a close one and then
won by a touchdown in a field goal if you will,
had a two point conversion to boot eighteen to seven
to the Red Sox t Bags five four. In DC,
Guardians lost sixty two and Anaheim and the Dodges fell

(31:08):
to the Phillies eight to seven. Oh my gosh, they
are human at birthdays today. Action star Jackie Chan. I
have never seen a Jackie Chan movie, and unlike what
you did to me with Tombstone, I still will not.
I am not watching a Jackie Chan movie. Rush Hour
with was that with Arnold? Oh?

Speaker 13 (31:24):
No?

Speaker 1 (31:25):
Rush Over? Was the Chris somebody? Yeah that I'm drawing
a blank senior moment. Yeah, Jackie Chan's happening one too,
seventy one years old. The Great Russell Crowe is sixty one?
Actor director, I mean director Chris Tucker. That's Christlas. Who
was Chris Tucker that was in the movie with Jackie Chan,
rush Hour?

Speaker 6 (31:43):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (31:43):
I know about it? Was here the words coming out
of my mouth? You never heard of them? All those? No? Okay, okay,
can I get back? Did I mention the Great Russell
Crowe is sixty one.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
This is your Morning Show with Michael Del Chrono.

Speaker 14 (31:59):
The news narrative simple, this guy is falling. This guy
is falling. The chair is against the wall, the chair
is against the wall. We're all going to die of First,
markets are crashing. The economy is a disaster.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
But if that's true, our market is expected to be
down four percent. Germany already down nine, London down five
point two, Japan down seven point nine, China down thirteen.
How does that make sense? So I promised you my
platinum card listeners, I would balance the narrative with Victor
Davis Hanson, and I am a man of my wood.
So here he is with a alternative view on the tariffs. Listen.

Speaker 5 (32:36):
April third, Donald Trump announced it as Liberation Day, and
by that he meant we were going to be liberated
from asymmetrical tariffs of the last fifty years, and it
was going to inaugurate and knew what he called Golden
Age of trade parody greater investment in the United States,

(32:57):
but mostly greater job opportun ttunities and hire paying jobs
for Americans. And yet the world seemed to erupt an anger.
It was very strange. Even people on the libertarian right,
and of course the left were very angry Wall Street
Journal pillary Donald Trump.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
But here's my question.

Speaker 5 (33:18):
China has prohibitive tariffs, so does Vietnam, So does Mexico,
so does Europe, so to a lot of countries, so
does India. But if tariffs are so destructive of their economies,
why is China booming? How did India become an economic
powerhouse when it has these exorbitant teriffs on American imports?

(33:42):
How did Vietnam, of all places, become such a different
country even though it has these prohibitive tariffs. Why isn't
Germany before its energy problems? Why wasn't it a wreck?
It's got tariffs on almost everything that we send them.
How is the EU even functioning with these tariffs? I
thought tariffs destroyed an economy, but they seem to like them,

(34:05):
and they're angry that they're no longer asymmetrical. Apparently, are
people who are tariffing us think tariffs improve their economy?
Maybe they're right.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (34:17):
The second thing is, why would you get angry at
the person who is reacting to the asymmetrical tariff and
not the people who inaugurated the tariff? Why is Canada
mad at us when it's running a sixty three billion
dollar surplus and it has tariffs on some American products
at two hundred and fifty two hundred and fifty percent.

(34:40):
Doesn't it seem like the people who started this asymmetrical?
If I could use the word trade where it should
be the culpable people, not the people who are reluctantly
reacting to it.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
What I love is the sensibility and the logic. When
the narrative is one sided and the narrative doesn't match
the past or reality, that's a definition of a narrative.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
We're all in this together. This is Your Morning Show
with Michael nel Jorno
