you. First things First, youabsolutely look adorable on Instagram. I've been
obsessing over you and your role asbaby Doll in Mulan Rouge. So we're

(00:21):
gonna get to that. But let'sget to know Andres, Like, how
do you put your personal spin ontoyour character on the show? I love
that woman. I'm originally from Venezuela. Um, but I've been in the
States for many years, zo intheater and in film TV for a while,
and uh yeah, I mean alot of like my background, my

(00:42):
Latin cultural background is meshed with babydolls. So um, it's the show
is a party and I'm a partyand you can have a good time.
I feel like I've literally known youfor what thirty seconds, and I can
tell you're such a party. ButI've actually I this is I can't tell
if this is like a good ora bad thing, but I maybe for
the sake of seeing Mulan Rouge.I've never seen it before, so I

(01:03):
know coming to see you guys atthe Chemo Cultural Campus. When it does
come to Philly, I am like, I'm thrilled because you guys are gonna
give me this brand new fresh perspectiveas to what Mulan Rouge is. But
for people that don't know, what'sthe premise of the show, Mama,
okay, So Muluge is Muller Rougeis a party. That's where it is.
So it's not your traditional theater experience. It's it is an immersive theater

(01:29):
experience of a show that's based ona movie of the early two thousands that's
based on a real place in Pariscalled the Mulan Rouge and a bag club
in the early eighteen hundreds were literallyeverything. When it's the birthplace of can
Can people, everybody was high onabsence. It was a wild, wild,
wild place that still exists to thisday. In the early two thousands,

(01:52):
it was turned into a musical movieand then in about five years about
five years ago, it was turnedinto a stage production. So you're gonna
come and um uh, you know, see a story about these two people
who fall in love with the MulanRouge and it's told with modern pop music.
So if you're a fan of topforty radio hits and also just rock,

(02:14):
there we are R and the it'sYou're gonna sit down, You're gonna
know what not what to expect, and then all of a sudden you're going
to realize that you know every singlesong in the score. Wow, I'm
so I love that you said scorebecause like my background is attempting to be
a triple threat like you are.So I'm like, whoa, Oh my
gosh. Score. These are allterms that I once knew in my younger

(02:36):
years. That is so excited. How long have you been doing? Um,
like have you been You've done screenplays, You've done Broadway and then some
So how long has have you beenon the Mulan Rouge Tour? So far,
I've been. I opened it.We started it um in March of
twenty twenty two. I've been withsince It's to start it, so I've
been with it for over a yearand a half. Um, we're the

(02:58):
craziest places that it is. Canyou like some crazy stories? Oh my
god? You know it's we've actuallybeen able to go to like some of
the major cities, you know,Chicago, La Denver, San Francisco.
But I think the wildest place thatwe have ever played, and this is
on was so unexpected to me.But Minneapolis is crazy. Really, why

(03:19):
do you say that? They probablythrow down? No, no, no,
that's the word. They throw down, like they have the wildest audiences.
I was like, oh, wow, it's giving rock concert. They
were lit. I mean they wererepresenting prints like mad It's like, wow,
yeah, it was. It wasa big like Minneapolis was crazy.
They were amazing. They were HopefullyPhilly does not disappoint you when the ads

(03:43):
up to Minneapolis standards. I don'tthink it will. I spent a lot
of time in Philly and I knowhow Philly throws down. Oh I'm so
excited for you guys to get here. Um, with that being said,
tell us a little bit more aboutBaby Doll. How your character and you're
kind of your personality shines through withBaby Doll. Where where does yeah?
Where did they come into play?Yeah? So Baby Dall a Baby Dall
is one of the Lady Marmalade girls. So I think what probably what most

(04:05):
people know if they have never seenMulan Rouge, Well, most people know
about Mulan Rouge is the iconic LadyMarmalade covered by Christina Aguilera, Pink Maya
and Little Kim and those entities,um were brought into the stage production and
they would turn into characters. SoI play one of them. So on
stage, I am a full blownwoman and I dance very sexy because I

(04:31):
am a courtesan and I am aworker of the streets her honey, you
know. And so um yeah,I mean it's just we get to open
the show with the iconic Lady Marmaladesong that everybody knows and it's um and
it's an incredible experience every night,I mean it's just, um, well,

(04:54):
we welcome people to the world ofMulan Rouge and I get to experience
the faces of every everybody, somepeople who have never seen it, and
literally every night it's my favorite partof my job because I just get to
see how in awe people are ofthis spectacle. It really is. Just
when I saw the show for thefirst time three years ago, I see
a lot of shows for a living, and I was blown away, Like

(05:15):
I literally like this is insane. And still to this day, Um,
that's the reaction that we get fromeverybody. So I'm so excited to play
baby Doll for in Philly and tohave you know, all of all of
those people come into the Mulan Rouge. I'm so excited. As if today
it wasn't already like thirsty Thursday andhappy hour status, I now all of
a sudden want to go hit upthe Mulan Rouge and go party. So

(05:38):
this is oh yeah, all ofus. That's a really good point that
you bring. Listen, this ismy recommendation that I say to everybody that
comes to the show. I wantto come with a couple of like a
glass or two of champagne on becausethat's gonna be how you're gonna experience it
on. You're not coming to seeLa miss. So this is this you
want to have. You want tobring you girls, you want to bring

(05:58):
your boys. This is I'm tellingyou, this is like a night out
in the town. So now you'reexplaining it, it definitely makes immersive and
interactive show experience so much more realbecause it sounds like you are also going
to be a part of the partyalong with some of your favorite actors and
actresses. A moment, you'll you'llfeel it from the moment that you walk
on into the theater. It startsfrom the moment that you go get into

(06:19):
your seed. The place has beencompletely transforms and you'll you'll notice it.
Oh wow, I'm so freaking excited. Okay, so you guys are coming
to Philly. I had the dateright in front of me, and then
I scrolled on my email for toolong. So if anyone knows the date,
throw it in here then I'll startto you. We open next July
on the fifth after the fourth ofJuly. Next there. Yeah, we're

(06:42):
gonna be there till the twenty thirds, So we're gonna be there for three
full weeks. Okay, say less. I'll probably be there every day for
three weeks, and I will bedown to throw for a party. I
can't wait to see you do yourthing. Who has like inspired you in
your career that has had that youfeel like you're kind of attempting to embody
his baby doll. That's such agreat question. I mean, in particular,

(07:02):
there's many people that have inspired meat me as an actor, but
like in this role in particular,I take all of my leads from like,
you know, my favorite pop divas, because that's what we're doing.
That's what it is. So likeChristina Aguilera, who is like the you
know, the one of the mainforces behind Mulan Rouge. Just somebody who's
just like throws down sayings and youknow, it's like growling while doing it.

(07:27):
That's the energy that I try tobring on stage every day. Okay,
setting the bar high. And I'mso excited to see you. I'm
already giving you a pre welcome toPhillies and you'll be here next week.
But I can't wait for us togive the energy right back that you're gonna
be giving to us and come tosee you guys at Mulan Rouge at the
give a Cultural Gift is Hey,thank you, Rachel. I'm so excited

(07:49):
