“Minecraft” Director Thankful To Teens For Going Crazy For “Chicken Jockey” Scene
The new Minecraft movie is smashing expectations and packing out theaters with screaming fans—and yes, even popcorn-throwing chaos. Director Jared Hess talked to Entertainment Weekly about how surreal and hilarious it's been to see audiences go wild for the “chicken jockey” moment, a viral fan-favorite pulled straight from the game. Hess is grateful for all the love, even if it means theaters calling in security. For him, the rowdy crowds are a sign that people are making memories, and that’s what matters most.

Justin Bieber is beefing with his own fashion brand, Drew House
Justin Bieber shocked fans by publicly cutting ties with his own brand, Drew House. In a now-deleted Instagram Story, he told followers not to support the brand anymore, saying it doesn’t represent him or his family. He followed that post with a video of an animated version of himself setting fire to a house full of Drew merch, walking away with wife Hailey and their son. As they move on, the word “SKYLRK” flashes across the screen—hinting at what’s next? Whatever it is, one thing’s for sure: Drew House is in Bieber’s rearview.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's time for Nina's what's trending.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
So the Minecraft movie has been a runaway success, dominating
the box office, but the Minecraft director wants to be
extra thankful and thank all the teens who have been
going crazy for the chicken jockey scene. No, I haven't
seen the movie, not aware of the chicken jockey scene,
but apparently it's a big popular meme, so much so
that when the chicken jockey scene happens on the screen,

(00:22):
cops have had to be called to move many theaters
around the country. So people start cheering, throwing popcorn, getting
on their friend's backs, like this chicken jockey scene is
a turn.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Up, okay people.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
I go on TikTok Live quite a bit and people
have been just been typing in chicken jockey, and I
didn't know what I thought. They were calling me a
chicken jockey. It might be I don't know, but I mean,
I'm fine with it, you know. But I didn't know
where that came from, you know. I was like, that's weird,
that seems random, But that's where it came from.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
I mean I think it's to always ask why you're
being called something like chicken jockey. Like, what is the
origin behind what is the intention of calling me a chicken?

Speaker 1 (01:02):
I think I did ask.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
I never get answers when I asked, yeah, and if
somebody did answer you, honestly, it's probably just goes too
fast in the comments anyway. Yeah, but also being if
someone called me a chicken jockey, I'd just be like,
I just figured they because I'm short, Like.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Oh maybe yeah, yeah, so short, I could write a chicken,
which will be awesome, sounds like the funnest time ever.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Now, my vision of what chicken jockeys is probably very
different than what ye.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
Now, it's like playing that one game. But pull up. Wait,
I looked it up, and that's what it is. Writing
a chicken. Yeah, looks like a Frankenstein writing a chicken.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
It's a creeper.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
That's really funny. That's why the cops are getting called.
No wonder, it's a turnout. Why what is it? Why
do the cops get called for that? Throwing their at
it chicken?

Speaker 1 (02:02):
It sounds great, Yeah, sounds like a fun time. You
like a regular sized person riding like a roster.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
When they called jewbil chicken must think I look like
the chicken jocket, which is a high compliment.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Compliment.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
That's a legendary skin on my craft. So yeah, apparently
I have good skins. We lost her visuals just took around.

Speaker 5 (02:33):
You're really taken. I just can see it.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
That's what I don't worry writing chickens. If I could
write a chicken, I would write a chicken everywhere.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
Okay, that's really fun.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
A little request of parking spot for my chicken downstairs
in the parking drive.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
You will turn it back and be like you cut
my little legs, flopper.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
I'm covering one right here.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Oh yeah, I can see it's bad. I'm chicken jockey.
That's really funny.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
Okay, I'll leave you.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
With one more thing boo, so I can think about
something else. Justin Bieber is beefing with his own fashion brand,
so you know, Drew House is Justin Bieber's. He founded
this back in twenty sixteen, seventeen something like that, eighteen,
I'm sorry with his former stylist. So he posted this
like really cryptic animated video on his social I don't

(03:25):
know if any of you saw it, but it's him
walking into a house that looks like the Drew House.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Light lighting on.

Speaker 5 (03:31):
Could you imagine he should.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Have wrote a chicken way much more like way, more dramatic.
But he lights it on fire, and then he disappears
with his wife and his baby and walks towards another
house and kind of teases the name of another brand.
But he is actually encouraging anybody that is a fan
of him as a person to distance themselves from Drew.
Don't buy it, save your money, all that.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Kind of stuff.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
Cart if he sold it and a new one.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
I don't know if he sold it, because I guess
the people there are pretty disappointed that he just basically
signed off on all of them.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Was like, back, what maybe DiDio? It's part of it?
Oh maybe that wasn't. That wasn't an a joke? Yeah
I wasn't. I'm saying, yeah, like nice tride. Did he
did he?

Speaker 3 (04:13):
I mean, with the reports of scene, it wasn't. Again,
I will not put it past that guy. I gotta
see this Minecraft movie now, that's what strended.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
He's slipping around the baby oil o. No, why
