We know that people are losing their jobs for whatever reason.
People need a plan B in life. Sometimes to get
that plan B, you've got to go back to the
beginning and learn new things. And so Chilly, if you
were to go back to school, if you needed a
plan B, what would you want to study?

Speaker 3 (06:26):
And why?

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Uh, Well, I got an English degree, I would go
back get my teacher certificate.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Teaching is always something that will be in demand and
a very noble job. Yes, that's right, and touch the
future you teach, it's you stuff. I would go to
school to learn how to become the best video editor
I could become, because then I could use it as
an influencer. I could make the best YouTube videos and
then get rich like Kim Kardashian.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
She got rich for a different kind of video.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Well, I wasn't talking about home videos, okay. I was
talking about videos pruce for Instagram, TikTok and the Internet
of things and you too, what about you, Ronald? Good morning,
thanks for listening in Fairfax. If you could go back
to school to study something to.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Use as a plan B to make some money in life,

Yeah?

Speaker 2 (07:09):
I got my degree in communication, but you know, I
would love to go back and study something more.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Specific, like a county.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
I'm not sure I have the patience for more years
of college, though.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
I agree with you. I wouldn't want to go back
to like a brick and mortar school for four years.
An online thing?

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Yeah, year Max? Is it a time thing?

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Or is it because you think you'd look weird amongst
all the you know, eighteen and nineteen.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Year olds all of the above. Oh right, on.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Stacy, Good Morning, how we're things in Tacoma Park thoughts I.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Go back to study creative writing or psychology, something that
dives deep into how people think and why they tell
the story that they do. And considering how much I've
paid a therapist over the years, that's a very lucrative decision.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
That's a good point. And think of how much more
money as psychologists would get paid than a licensed clinical
social worker.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
And with online.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Courses available, I could study from the comfort of my
own bed, at my own pace without ever having to
get up.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Sign me up.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
It's ninety seven point one Wash FM or Toby and

that talk bag microphone and don't forget the news is
on the way in a few minutes later.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Top Stories, Top of the Hour.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Pope Francis, the first Latin American pope, known for his
humility and focus on the poor, died this morning at
the age of eighty eight. Church bells rang across Rome
as the Vatican announced his passing. From the Chapel where
he lived. A man was shot and killed by police
at National Harbor yesterday morning after allegedly approaching officers with

(08:48):
a knife. He's also linked to a domestic related stabbing
that sent two people to the hospital and set fire,
and to a fire set at the scene. Several teenagers
are facing charges after getting into fights in Southeast DC
on Friday night. The fights continued to break out in
the Navy Yard and Southeast Waterfront areas during the night,

(09:10):
with six suspects arrested in Police then increased patrols in
that area. The Virginia Department of Health is reporting the
state's first measles case of the year. The agency says
a four year old child visited clinics in Woodbridge and
Fredericksburg on April fifteenth and sixteenth, possibly exposing others to
the illness. DHL Express is stopping shipments worth over eight

(09:34):
hundred dollars to American customers starting today. The company says
the shipment suspension is in response to new US customs
rules and according to a recent study, first dates involving
in activity are much more likely to lead to a
second date than meeting up for drinks or dinner. So
taking a cooking class, for example, can boost the chance

(09:57):
of a second date by twenty five percent, and go
going hiking can raise the likelihood by fifty percent. Forecast
today cloudy skies. High's around seventy three right now fifty
six in only.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Next with Toby and Chilly in the Morning, Cindy from
McLean was listening to us last week. We were talking
about using a work voice. There's research that says that
you do women do specifically. We had a robust conversation
about women and men and how you know, both really
use certain inflections and tones and colorful metaphors when they work.

(10:31):
She had some things she wanted to add to the conversation.
Who are we to say, no, it's all about you.
Here with Toby and Chilly in the Morning at ninety
seven point one wash FM, and we'll get to her.
Call next Toby and Chilly in the Morning at eight six, six,
nine two, seven forty three sixty one ninety seven point
one wasch FM. Last week we were talking about people
using a work voice. Specifically, eighty two percent of women

(10:53):
say they feel they have to use a different voice
than their own when they're in the office. Now, Cindy
and McLain, what do you think about this?

Speaker 1 (11:00):
I work in a daycare, so I have to watch
what I say around the little kids. Okay, well, see
how that makes sense because you work around little children.
But that should probably go the same for men in
the same workplace. You don't want to be cursing like
you really want to in front of the kids.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Right, man, is little Timmy o'tole just went to the
bathroom in his pants again?

Speaker 5 (11:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (11:23):
That, I'll say, you're old.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Oh yes, the bluntness of the kids. Yes, you have
to be like, well, thank you, Timmy, thank you for noticing.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Or Cindy, what do you do with the parents who
have kids who can do no wrong. I know my
little Matthew and my little Stacy would never have done
anything like that.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
You're wrong.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
We do that all the time. Oh yeah, Cindy, you're
a saint, is basically what you're telling us.

Speaker 4 (11:51):
Yes, and then I go home and I drink.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Well, you know what, you know what, It's tough dealing
with kids.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Tolby and Chili's nearly impossible question, And.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
What's our question for this Monday morning?

Speaker 1 (12:04):
There, chiliamar this ordinary household item First, appeared in ancient Egypt.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Wants to go see Kids Bop Peer six Pavilion, Thanks

Here's the question one more time.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
This ordinary household item first appeared in ancient Egypt?

Speaker 3 (12:24):

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Eight six, six, nine, two, seven, forty three sixty one
call now, guests, get it right, win those tickets to
see Kids Bop at Peer six Pavilion. Thank you, Live Nation,
and we'll learn something new together. And that's the point.
Your nearly impossible question is on It's ninety seven point
one Wash FM, Helby.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
And Chili's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
And the question for these kids Bop tickets is.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
This ordinary household item first appeared in ancient Egypt?

Speaker 3 (12:52):
What is it? Cheating? And Dayton, good morning? How are you?

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Hi?

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Good morning, good morning.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
So you've got the question, what is your guest for
these kids Bop tickets?

Speaker 5 (13:03):
I'm going to guess the scissors and.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
When is the last time you used some scissors?

Speaker 5 (13:07):
Actually I was cutting up some credit cards, shredding it
up yes day before yesterday. But it was in a
mail or something, you know, old credit cards, and I'm like,
I'm like what you know, what can I use? I said,
let's try scissors.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Well, that's an excellent guess. These scissors have been around
since fifteen hundred BC. And yes, that is the correct answer.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Kids Bob, Pier six Pavilion, Thanks to Live Nation. Tickets
are yours?

Speaker 3 (13:33):
All right?

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Thank you so much, all right, thank you so much
for listening to ninety seven point one watch FM or
Kids Bob. Tickets up for grabs Tomorrow another round of
You're kneeling impossible question on the way and the news
will be here in seconds.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Don't go anywhere.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Top Stories, Top of the Hour.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Pope Francis has died at the age of eighty eight.
He will be the first pope buried outside the Vatican
in a century. No funeral date has been set yet.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reportedly shared more military plans in
another group chat, this time with members of his family.
Multiple sources say Hegseth shared the military plans regarding an

(14:14):
operation against Huthi's in Yemen with his brother, lawyer, and wife.
Thousands marched in DC over the weekend, calling for the
return of kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Prince George's county man
who's now imprisoned in Al Salvador. Protesters blasted the Trump
administration's handling of the case despite a Supreme Court order

(14:35):
for his return. A man with a knife was shot
and killed by police near National Harbor yesterday after he
stabbed two people and set an apartment on fire. Both
victims are expected to recover. Metro's general manager says that
the transit system can handle crowds if a new NFL
stadium is built at the RFK site. While the stadium

(14:59):
armory station could manage the traffic, it would be packed,
and building a news station nearby would cost over one
hundred million dollars and need major coordination. And finally, according
to your recent survey, a lot of spouses I guess
keep quiet about their driving mishaps. Thirty five percent blamed
card dings on someone else, twenty five percent kept tickets

(15:22):
a secret, and twenty four percent kept accidents a secret
from their partner. Forecast for today cloudy skies, highs around
seventy three right now fifty six in Stafford.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
In just a few minutes, we're going to talk about
the clothing you hate shopping for. Everybody has something will
get into this coming up in minutes. Yes, you're not alone.
We'll explain as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues,
Hey the numbers eight sixty six, ninety two, seven, forty
three sixty one, sylbe to Chilly in the Morning at

(15:53):
tinety seven point one launch you at them on this
Easter Monday, April twenty First, what kind of clothing do
you hate shopping for? If we're honest, we all can't
stand something about clothing shopping. I know that I could
count the ways. But you had an instance happen just recently.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Well, this kind of happens every other year when I
have to buy a new bathing suit. I was encouraged
because we re upped our membership for the community pool,
and I was like, you know what, let me go see.
And that was a big mistake. It's never it's never
flattering like you hope it would be. And plus we
have to, of course do the crouching tiger, hidden dragon

(16:31):
poses to make sure nothing's peaking and whatnot. At the
end of the day, I was like, you know what,
forget it. I'm just going to keep wearing the old ones.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
That happens to me every time I go to prepare
for some sort of an appearance, like I want to
think like two or three weeks ago, I had that
first appearance at Rose Gaming Resort, right, and of course
I couldn't wear anything that I have in my closet. No,
can't wear anything, So I had to go shopping for clothing.

(16:59):
And the sigh at one place as opposed to another
is just completely different.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
There's no kind of well yeah, that's no rhyme or
reason to it.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
That's kind of how women have dealt since the beginning
of time. Well asize sixty one place is not the
same in another place.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Now, I feel your pain. There's six six, nine, two,
seven forty three sixty one. Is there some clothing you
can't stand shopping for? If so, what is it? Call
us now, tell us all about it. Tap the talk
back microphone if you want to get involved. We would
love to hear from you, and we'll circle back on
this after eight next though. Some local kids are helping

(17:36):
to write a strong and they're starring in a video
just in time for the CAPS fiftieth anniversary. I don't
know if you heard about this or the person behind this,
but we'll tell you all about it in a story
that we think might just make your Monday coming up beat,
A story that'll make your Monday. Check this out, Toby
and Chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven point one
Wash FM. Don't need to tell you about your Washington Capitols.

(18:00):
They've been speaking for themselves on the ice, but for
the unhockey educated.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Well, not only did alex Ovachkin break the record for
the most goals this year, but it is the fiftieth
anniversary season for the team, and tonight it is game one,
Round one of the playoffs. They are playing the Montreal
Canadians at home.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
And one of the reasons why the Capitals are so
beloved in the DMV and I would say by hockey
fans across the country, is because they give back to DC,
to their fans and to their kids. A group of
third through fifth grade kids in Montgomery County at Brook
Grove Elementary have starred in a new music video to
celebrate the CAP's fiftieth anniversary and the upcoming playoff run.

(18:48):
They got together with this artist named Polyz and they
came up with their own Caps themed song.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
Catchy lyrics.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
But there's more to the story. These kids not only
helped write the song, but they got to take a
trip to the MedStar Capital's ice Plex, where they filmed
the music video with the help of Capital's alum Peter Bondra.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
If you want to see the video, it is worth watching.
It'll squeeze your heart.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
You can read more about this very inspiring, cool story
on the Toby and Chili page at washfm dot com.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
And to the Caps, thank you for being such great
citizens of the DMV and for making our Monday. Were
Toby and Chilly in the morning and coming up top
stories at the top of the hour hang.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Out top stories Top of the Hour. Pope Francis has died.
The eighty eight year old Pontiff's death was announced this
morning from the Vatican. Now Francis's death sets off a
week's long process of allowing the faithful to pay their
final respects, first for Vatican officials in the Santa Marta

(19:57):
Chapel and then in Saint Peter's for the general public,
followed by a funeral and a conclave to elect a
new pope. Several teenagers are facing charges after getting into
fights in Southeast DC Friday night. Those fights continued to
break out in the Navy Yard and Southeast Waterfront areas
during the night, with six suspects arrested and police increase

(20:20):
patrol in that area. The Virginia Department of Health is
reporting the state's first measles case of the year. The
agency says a four year old visited clinics in both
Woodbridge and Fredericksburg on April fifteenth and sixteenth, possibly exposing
others to the illness. DHL Express is stopping shipment's worth

(20:40):
over eight hundred dollars to American customers starting today. The
company says the shipment suspension is in response to new
US customs rules. And Taking a walk or spending time
with lud ones are two activities that are shown to
boost your brain health well. According to a recent study,
getting your steps in can help reduce the risk of dementia,

(21:01):
and if a loved one is buy your side on
that walk, your stress levels may go down as well.
Forecast for today cloudy skies with highs around seventy three
right now fifty six in Lantam.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one.
Talkbag microphone also works if you're signing to your iHeart app.
Tell Us were Toby and Chilly in the Morning at
ninety seven point one wash FM, What clothes do you
hate shopping for? Tell Us, doesn't matter what it is,
what could be anything, won't judge, just want to hear
from you all about it, so feel free to call

(21:36):
and take part.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
We'll get into this next.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
The number eight six six ninety two seven forty three
sixty one is the number Toby and Chili in the
Morning on ninety seven point one wash FM, talking about clothes.
We can't stand shopping for you. Yes, I would even
say we hate shopping for them now a little bit
earlier if you missed it, Chili, you hate shopping for.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Bathing suits because they're never as flattering as you want
them to be.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
And I can't stand shopping for clothes because there's really
no consistency when it comes to the sizes of clothes.
It's just not the same and that's just not fair. Harold,
good morning, thanks for listening to us in Tacoma Park.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
What's up?

Speaker 2 (22:14):
I hate shopping for shoes, trying them on, walking around
to them, getting the right side, which ones look dumb,
which ones make me look stupid?

Speaker 3 (22:22):
It's too much to think about. I mean They're just shoes.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Oh, Harold, I love shopping for shoes. I'm sorry because
no matter how much my body fluctuates, my feet stay
the same.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
Oh, Chili, that's because you're a girl. Let's be honest
about it. And all girls love shopping for shoes. Oh am,
I stereotyping again. Yes, yes you are Erica Silver Spring
good morning clothes.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
You can't stand shopping.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
For congeez, every brain incites them differently, and sitting rooms
are awful, and no two parents ever fit the same.
It's it's total nightmare.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
See that's what I was saying, Eric.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Got Chili, I am sensing a trend developing here.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
What do you mean a trend?

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Women's sizes have never been consistent since the beginning of time.

Speaker 4 (23:04):
Uh, now you can finally feel our pain. Want more?
