Speaker 1 (00:00):
How can you not feel good on a Friday morning?
Toby and Chilly in the morning, it's ninety seven point
one to wash FM, like to start the day by
feeling good about something in life, because well, every day
that we're alive gives us a chance to have good feels,
as it were when we get up in the morning.
First thing. And I got to tell you, Chilly, I
am happy that it's Friday. I'm happy that I'm going

(00:21):
to get to sleep more than maybe four hours a
night tonight. And I'm not you know, tonight's one of
those nights where I just want to go to bed
and wake up tomorrow. When I wake up tomorrow, you know.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
It's without an alarm or anything.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Without anybody bothering me, right comfortable in my bed and hopefully,
hopefully I'll make it to the end of the day.
And you know, that's why I'm feeling good today, because
sleep is in the forecast, as it were, to quote
Eileen or Ryan Vandergraft.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Now, what about you.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Today's a last day of February. I'm kind of excited.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
February is one of those months that for us in
this area tends to be cold and potentially snowy, and
so tomorrow is March, and I love that. Yesterday they
forecasted the cherry blossoms. They talked about the easter egg rule.
So spring is almost sprung, I know, like three weeks

(01:17):
away or whatever, three and a half weeks.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
I am very happy now if.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
If something happens and we get like blizzard after blizzard, ever,
Chili's the one who jinxed it.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Hold on a second, If we get a blizzard this
late in the year, it's not as it'll melt faster.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
That's true.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
It's not.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
It's because it's just the sun is in a different
place in the sky and all that other thing.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Yeah, who knew, blink and you missed the month of February. Brow,
It's already we're going into March.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
January felt like three months, I know, right, it was
like the longest month ever ternity.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yeah, anyway, why are you feeling good this morning? The
numbers eight sixty six, nineteen seven, forty three sixty one.
If you want to check in on this early Friday
morning with Toby and Chilly in the morning here at
ninety seven point one, wash them. The news is on
the way. Top stories at top of the hour. What
do we need to know coming up here?

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Chili, Well, I kind of just hinted at it. I'm
going to tell you when.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
The peak bloom will be for our cherry blossoms at
the title based.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Peak bloom of the cherry blossoms is soon. Hang on
for the.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
News traffic with Toby and Chili in the morning.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Now it's time for your morning mindset words that we
hope will inspire you to take on this the last
day of February or if you want to round it up,
the first day of March. Really it depends on your
perspective or Toby and Chilly in the morning. You're at
ninety seven point one wash FM.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
So who is this quote by and what is it?

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Well, Chili, Margaret Thatcher, that's right, the great Lady. She
says you may have to fight a battle more than
once to win it. Think about that in life, you
know you might have to fight a battle more than
one time to win. You just keep fighting through whatever
comes your way. Could be work related, life related, family related.
Maybe it's related to something that we don't know about

(03:00):
that only you know you're facing. You have to fight
a battle. You may have to fight a battle more
than once to win it. According to Margaret Thatcher, that's
your morning light set on this Friday, February twenty eighth.
If it helped you, maybe it'll help somebody else. Share
it with someone who needs it. You'll find it the
Toby and chilipage at waschfm dot com and if you
don't see it there, hit one of us up and

(03:22):
we'll happily send it to you. Now coming up with
Toby and Chilly in the Morning here on ninety seven
point one WASHFM.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
At the end of the show yesterday we were talking
about seemingly harmless habits of yours that are actually wreaking
havoc in your life and Dennis and Burke I guess
is on hold and he wanted to add something to that.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
All right, Dennis, you stay right there. And by the way,
if you want to jump in the numbers eight sixty
six nine two seven forty three sixty one, Good morning, DC,
it's early on a Friday morning. Eight six six, ninety two,
seven forty three sixty one Toby and Chile in the morning.
You might want to call and jump into the conversation
we were having yesterday about something that you thought it

(04:00):
was an innocent sort of a habit, it turned out
to cause you some harm. So in Burke this morning, Dennis,
what's up?

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Well, I was talking about biting your fingernail.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Let's hear how it's harmful.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
A couple different things.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
They could cause an infection or like when you're younger
and maybe dating, the girls might not appreciate that and
might shun you for that.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Did that ever happen to you when you were dating?
Did some woman hold you accountable because your nails were
looking mangy? Possibly?

Speaker 3 (04:36):
That's why it's a good idea for men to also
get manicures.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
I can't afford the cost of everything's up these days, sir,
if you're not wrong.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
But I wanted to call in comment on that to
the best morning show around, wash Up m ninety seven
point Why.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Thank you, Dennis. We appreciate you and thank.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
You for waking up with us and Burke coming up
in just minutes. The news top stories at the top
of the hour. So we get Chilly in the morning
hang out. Oh it's Friday traffic. Yeah, Friday morning at
ninety seven point one, watch FM Toby and Chilly in
the morning. The numbers eight sixty six, nine two seven
forty three sixty one. We're in here in the studio
talking about eye tattooing. Apparently this is a trend where

(05:16):
you can change your eye color now with the tattoo
on the cornea. Now, don't worry. The tattoo is not
something you would do. It's something a doctor would get.
But the fact that people are getting their eye color
changed via tattoo and they're paying for this, to me,
seems a little bit drastic.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
I don't think. I'm not shocked at all. I mean,
first of all, it's expensive. It's twelve thousand dollars. But
you remember was it in the nineties. It was like
trendy for those color contacts that people would buy and
change their eye color contacts. Right, But the fact that
somebody would want their eye color changed, they would do
this procedure. They use filters on Snapchat to change their

(05:58):
eye color and they see what they would look like,
and it makes them go, God, I wish I had
green eyes, or gosh, I had wish I had blue eyes.
I could see people doing this, especially because this doctor
who offers it on TikTok says it's as safe as
getting a Lasik proce.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Okay, look, I've had Lasik. Well, I will tell you
that Lasik got rid of my ability to need glass
or my need for glasses. Yeah, you know what I mean.
But I did not, at any given time think that
I wanted to change my eye color. I think it
is one thing to correct your vision, yes, because glasses
do the same thing. And maybe you don't want to
wear glasses. They have science for that medicine. But tattoos

(06:36):
of the eyes that just seems I'm like, I'm having
a hard time wrapping my head around.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
I would do this if I was that unhappy with
my eye color, especially, but yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
If I didn't, if I was unhappy.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
This is like and any other augmentation of your body botox,
breast augmentation, knows job. I mean, it's just another thing
to change your appearance. If you want to do it,
I guess, go for it.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
This guy saying that it's not much, not a lot
of whole side effects or anything.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Well, if as long as there's not any side effects,
because the eye is the eye, right, I agree. You
only have two of them? God willing, you know, I mean,
I don't know, but you know what, perhaps maybe I
could come around to it. Kelby and Chilly's nearly impossible questions,
BOP tickets could be yours right now thanks to our
friends' Live Nation. If you don't know, it's a great

(07:27):
thing for the family. It's all of the songs you
love made safe for little ears. It'll be a great
family bonding experience. Here is the question.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
This place has eight hundred and thirty eight miles of shelves.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
What place is it? And by the way, it is
in DC.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
All right, kids, BOP tickets up for grabs. Eight sixty six,
nine two, seven forty three sixty one is the number.
Call now, answer the question right and you could win.
Here's the question one more time.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
This place has eight hundred and thirty eight miles of shelves.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
What place is it?

Speaker 1 (07:57):
All right? Call now the game is on and the
answers on the Shelby.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
And Chilly's nearly impossible question from Woodbridge.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Let's say good morning to Don. Good morning, Don, how
are you today? Good morning, happy Friday and doing good
and yourself? Really good time for you to play this game?
You ready for you? Ready to hear them?

Speaker 3 (08:16):
The question This place has eight hundred and thirty eight
miles of shelves.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
What do you think we're talking about? Gotta go with
the Library of Congress.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Have you been and did you count the number of shelves?
Never been there, but just had to go with that,
guest first instinct. Well, I mean it is a big
library and it is the correct answer.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Congratulations, don Well, thank you, thank you, thank you. If
you've got kids that are gonna love this four pack
of tickets to go see Kids Pop at Peer six

Speaker 1 (09:10):

that's right after she goes to space on that Jeff
Bezos rocket. Anyway, be here Monday, play and when we've
got the news on the way top story. It's top
the Hour, hang out and thanks for waking up with
ninety seven point one wash FM, Toby and Chilly in
the Morning. Sometimes as we wrap up the week, you

(09:48):
need something that gives you all the feels. That's when
we enter into the equation with Feel Good Friday, ninety
seven point one wash FM, Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
Stories from here in the DMV around the world which
restore your faith in humanity. And this one involves one
of our favorites, the Washington Commanders.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
They're giving back to the community in a really big way.
The Commanders. They teamed up with DC Central Kitchen to
bring both food and inspiration to students in Northeast DC
this week and earlier.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
This week at Houston Elementary School. They were full of excitement.
Three hundred plus students enjoyed a hot meal and had
the chance to meet some of the team's legends.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Part of the menu featured crispy catfish, some cheesy grits,
sauteed veggies, bread and you know this is all important
because oftentimes these students don't get a packed lunch, so
getting a hot and hearty meal made the day extra special.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Sometimes it's the only meal that they get. I don't
know about you, but my mouth is watering right now.
Thank you DC Central Kitchen, who've been a cornerstone in
the fight against hunger and poverty for more than three decades.
It's teaming up with the Commanders for this was just
another way for them to give back to the kids
who need a little extra support.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Can you imagine sitting there having this incredible meal and
then looking up and seeing some.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Former Commanders players.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
They were just as excited as their parents, because everyone's
a huge fan.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Some of the players shared lessons from their own lives,
including a wide receiver Josh Morgan. I remember being as
I graduated right up the street at AHT which is
just a hiad that type of thing going on right now,
right down the street front my stomping grounds. It's a
big deal. Couldn't have said it better ourselves. Thank you
for giving us something that really does restore all the fields,

(11:40):
that makes us feel good on a Friday. And if
you want to know more about this story, maybe you
might want to help. You can do so. The Toby
and Chilipage WASHFM dot com. We are Toby and Chilly
in the morning hang out because in just a few minutes.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
A woman went online and said that a guy ended
a relationship with her after finding out she has kids.
So we want to know, at what point do you
reveal to someone you've got children?

Speaker 1 (12:05):
If you want to jump into the conversation now, it's
eight six six nine two seven forty three sixty one talkback.
Microphone's wide open too. If it's easier for you to
leave a message and you're soned into your iHeart app,
just tap speak and sent. That is minutes away. It's
Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on a fredday.
This was floating around on Reddit. You might have seen it.
Parents who have been dating and you're dating somebody new

(12:27):
ninety seven point one watch FM Toby and Chilly in
the Morning. Oh there's a catch, you have a kid. Yeah.
Apparently this happened to a guy who was not thrilled
to find out after multiple dates with a potential paramore,
that she was a mom.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Yeah, I guess.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
She casually mentioned that she had a seven month old
and this guy was like, Yeah, that's not going to
work for me because I'm not ready to be a
step parent. So he ended things with her, which begs
the question.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
And I'm going to.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Ask you, Toby, because you were a single parent when
you were dating, what point do you reveal that you
have a child?

Speaker 1 (12:59):
First things first, I mean, you know, hey, this is
part of the equation. There's nothing more important to me
than this, and if we're going to be anything, you're
going to have to be okay with it.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
So even on the dating apps, you would identify as
somebody who had a child, right, So that even before
a first date, everybody knows what's going on.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
I believe. So it's been a while since I've been
on an app, but.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
No, But like, don't you think I see? That's what
I think it should be. I think it should be
part of your dating profile. I think when you're in
the conversation phase, like even texting or whatever through the apps,
that you put it out there because to your point,
you don't want somebody in your life who's not ready.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
For that, right. Eight sixty six nine two seven forty
three sixty one. I know it's a big subject, dating
and dating somebody with kids from a previous relationship, but
sometimes you got to talk about this stuff. So do
you have thoughts? Maybe if you want to tap the
talk back microphone. If you're signed and listening to your
iHeart app, you could share some of them too. Give
us a call. We're listening. We'll start over here with you,

(13:53):
Julia in Boston.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
I say bring it up early, like maybe after a
few dates.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
It helps to ex shows you're being honest.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Julia.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
I do appreciate the honesty, but a few dates. After
a few dates could mean like a month or two.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
But you gotta do what's right for you. And who
would we be to tell you what that is? Thanks
for jumping in in Boston this morning. If you're dating
somebody with kids from a previous relationship, how long do
you wait until you share the fact that, Hey, I'm
a package deal. Eight sixty six nine two seven forty
three sixteen one is the number. Talkback's wide open two.

(14:30):
You're signed into your IHEARTIPE, you can use it. Tell
us what you think and we'll get back to This
is Toby and Chilli in the Morning. Continues next though
the news top stories at the top of the hour
on this Friday hangout traffic. All right, Sean, I see
you calling from Gaythersburg. Hang on and let me tell
people why you're calling. I think it's because you want

(14:52):
to jump into the conversation we've been having this morning
about dating somebody with kids Toby and Chillian Morning at
age sixty six nine two seven three sixty one. Specifically,
when is the right time for you to come clean
about having a child in your life? Chili thinks, what now?

Speaker 3 (15:10):
Before you even go on in a first date, you
should tell someone you've got kids.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Yep, you're putting the ball back in their court if
they're not happy with it, enjoy your coffee date and
go about your business.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
It's only going to be a huge deal if you
bring it up later and the other.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Person has a problem with it.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Better to get that stuff out and the opening and
right away.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
So far, that's three of us saying the same thing
out of the gate.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
Baby, let's go to talk back where Charity left us
a message in Woodbridge.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
When I was dating, I was upfront about the fact
that I had a child, because some times kids aren't
for other people, and later down the road it's going
to hurt you or them if you guys start catching
feelings and they're not into kids. So being upfront but
also not letting them around the child or anything like that,
I support one hundred percent as well because I was

(15:58):
the same way.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Yeah, put it out there and see how it all develops.
That's excellent. Thank you for the message of this morning
charity and if.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
They stick around, an even tougher question, what's that chilling
when do you meet the kids?

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Boom boom boom,
