If there was one event out of the entire legendarium that I have read the most about, then it would be The Disaster of the Gladden Fields. A seemingly small event where the Dunedain are defeated and the One Ring becomes lost; however, conversely, there are smaller details to the story which produced lasting effects throughout the Third Age.
