Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Good Morning Football.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Welcome to Good Morning Football, brought to you by our
friends at Old Trapper Beef Jerky.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
We have made it to Friday.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
It is we send somehow already here at the breakfast table.
I am Sherry Burrs alongside Akbar Baja Biamilla.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
Thanks to Steve White.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
You're waking up very early to be here with us, yep.
And to be here holding things down in New York
City is our Kyle brand, their Kyle, the Bengals and Ravens.
We had anticipations this was going to be a good game.
Looked like a shootout. But how did last night go?

Speaker 5 (00:54):
We all got a pep in our step this morning. Guys.
We love all the games, but we really love a
great Thursday night game on Friday morning.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Why don't we get into it right now? Because this
had something for everyone, all right. The Bengals don't have
a great record, but they've won three road games in
a row. However, Lamar has owned them. Let's jumped already
to the third quarter with the Bengals with a fourteen
to seven lead. Huge play here though, because Cincinnati's totally
in control. And then Chase Brown, who was a good
strong runner last night, fumbles. The Ravens secondary had to

(01:22):
up their game because they lost Kyle Hamilton early, and
believe me, they paid a price for it.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
But Marlon Huffy made a huge play there.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Why because on second and nine, Lamar is going to
run twenty.

Speaker 5 (01:32):
Yards behind the line of scrimage to run out of bounds.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
No, to throw it away, No, he's still going. Is
he gonna score?

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Oh my god?

Speaker 1 (01:39):
He Alwys gets in, He gets down to the one
yard line, and crazy play from Lamar, a guy who
gives us one every single week.

Speaker 5 (01:46):
Speaking of every single week, do.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
You know Derrick Henry has scored in every game this season,
every game for the Ravens he has scored, including there.
So they're back the fumble, they cashed it in, but
the fourth quarter had all kinds of pyrotechnics.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
Twenty eight all this is a classic. Bro is just
gonna float over the Ravens into DeMar Chase. So they're
down one now and look at it, says go for two.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
After a couple of timeouts, they go for two.

Speaker 5 (02:14):
He throws it.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
To Tanner Hudson they can't complete it. They wanted a
flag on the receiver, they didn't get it.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
Kasiki's mad.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
But also you're gonna see the play on Burrow where
Burrow gets hit directly what here boom right in the face.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
They don't call that either.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Everyone's apoplectic about it.

Speaker 5 (02:34):
Thirty five to thirty four.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
The Bengals lose, and Manda they really need that one
on the standings. An instant classic. Last time it was
forty one to thirty eight. This time thirty five to
thirty four. Joe burrougher for four twenty eight and four
touchdowns in a loss. Guys, so much to unpack herett
Let's hear from both quarterbacks who bent over backwards praising

(02:58):
the other quarterback roll it.

Speaker 6 (03:00):
I just know that's a that's a great quarterback over there.

Speaker 5 (03:03):
You know.

Speaker 6 (03:04):
It's a lot of a great quarterbacks in the league, not
just us too, you know, but and it's a divisional game.
I just know he's going to be a dog fight
with regardless because he got dog in him.

Speaker 5 (03:14):
I'm playing against him, you know what kind of game
it's going to be.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
He's going to make make big time plays, put them
in great spots to win the game and you got
to match it.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
And I love playing against him, I love watching him.
He's incredible.

Speaker 7 (03:26):
You know, you know what kind of game is going
to be going into that when when you got him
on the other side of the ball.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Could have been a black Baker for the Bengals.

Speaker 5 (03:33):
I'll show you why.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Here we go, guys, let's start from the left. Casey
has the buy Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Houston Division leaders your
current wild card right now as we get into November,
Baltimore seven and three after last night, the Chargers and
then the Broncos with the seventh spot. It's a filthy, gross,
lurking column with teams that are two and seven, But
look at the Bengals.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
Four and six could have been.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Five and five if they win, if they get the
two point conversion, that'll change, of course. But Sherry Burris,
Cincinnati really needed that win.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
And they could not quite get it.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
No, no, Kyle, they could, and you perfectly tee that up.
That highlight just brought the excitement of last night because
once again we saw the Bengals just falling short against
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens in this AFC North thriller.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
So Steve, I do want to start with you.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
What do you feel like?

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Was the biggest turning point that we saw in that
Thursday night game.

Speaker 8 (04:27):
Sure, look, when any team plays the Baltimore Ravens, they
will tell you going in, our margin of error is slim.

Speaker 5 (04:33):
And the turning point.

Speaker 8 (04:34):
Of the game came almost midway through the third quarter
when Marlon Humphrey strips the ball from running back Chase
Brown on the thirty one yard line right this fumble
right here. At this point, the Bengals were up twenty
one to seven, and this was the turning point.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
The Bengals get the ball handful of.

Speaker 8 (04:52):
Plays later after this, Rocons with recovery.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
There's Marlon Humphrey.

Speaker 8 (04:56):
He's happy you got Derrick Henry getting into the end
zone one more time.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
But this was the turning point.

Speaker 8 (05:01):
But there were a couple more inflections in this back
and forth game. But again that gave the ball. They
gave it to Baltimore. We saw it last week against
the Broncos. You make one mistake against Baltimore, they can
pour it on offensively. Regardless of how shabby their defenses
actbar this is something that their offense once it gets
rolling to train rolling downhill.

Speaker 9 (05:22):
You know, it's it's interesting because you know, I think
of practices all the time. You see the offense out there,
and they work on the two minute offense, and the
two minute offense, obviously is something you practice for in
case you're behind. You want to make sure that you
keep the quick tempo. I've never seen a fourth quarter
offense before. I think that the Baltimore rate practice fourth

(05:42):
quarter offense. I mean, my goodness, what they were able
to go out there and do and complete and compete
in the fourth quarter was just absolutely outstanding. I think
look at their numbers. Two hundred and thirty one yards
in the fourth quarter, one hundred percent in the red zone,
one hundred percent on third down. They were moving, they
were cooking with gas, eighty four percent completion. Now you

(06:04):
think about what they did in the first three quarters.
The first three quarters, they had one hundred and fifty
eight yards total offense. They had, they were thirty seven
percent on third down excuse me, ninety three yards of passing.
They went out there and obliterated their entire offense in
the first three quarters.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
In the fourth quarter, this was just unstoppable. I mean,
I look at this and I go.

Speaker 9 (06:27):
You know, kudos to this offense that they can be
down three quarters and then come back in the fourth
quarter and score three touchdowns. Great work by obviously, you know,
Lamar Jackson, Derek Henry, the entire offense. They were able
to push and overcome a lot in this in this game.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
This thing had stakes. We show the playoff standings. This
game matters. I think this was a really good win
for Baltimore. I think this was a huge win for
Kansas City. I think Chiefs fans are thrilled with how
that went. Remember, there is one active quarterback on the
planet Earth who has ever beaten Patrick Mahomes in a
playoff game, and it was Joe Burrow. That's the the

(07:04):
only guy who's ever done it. And Joe Burrow's sitting
there at four and six right now. I don't know
if they're making the playoffs, and they're at four and
six because they could not score the two point conversion
to win at the end of the game.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
Huge win for the Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
As for the two point conversion attempts, you all right.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
Come out. I love that they went for it. I
believe in going forward.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
This has been in the headlines for weeks and weeks
this season, you have the defense tired, discombobulated. I love
that they went for the win on the road with
all the.

Speaker 5 (07:30):
Momentum that they had.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
I hate going for two and calling a timeout.

Speaker 5 (07:36):
I hate it.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
I understand you're trying to say, well, we want to
make sure we have our best play. You should already
have your best two point play. That's something you can
do during the week. I think the fact that you
score the touchdown then call a timeout is the boxer
who's beaten somebody up in the corner and steps back
to he say, wait, what's my best punch to finish them?
The boxer recovers.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
I hate it.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Cincinnati called the timeout, then Baltimore called the timeout, and
they got their ducks in a row and they were ready. Now,
if you do call a timeout on offense, which I
don't like at all, If you do, you damn sure
better come out of that time out with the perfect
play to throw to Jamar Chase. Come on, how do
we not give Jamar Chase a chance on the biggest
play of the game when he has owned the entire

(08:19):
Ravens defense. I don't want the game to be contingent
on throwing the ball that the guy named Tanner. Okay,
I know Tanner Hudson had a nice game and he
had some catches.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
I am throwing it to Jamar Chase.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
He had just had a five yeard touchdown seconds earlier,
run the same bleeping play. If you have to, I
cannot believe they lost that game. Throwing it to a
tight end who was covered Jamar Chase.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
Not a chance to win the game.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Last layer of this, and I know we got opinions
on this, Joe Burrow got hit squarely in the face
after he threw that pass. That is a penalty. You
cannot hit the quarterback like that, let alone on the
biggest play of the game. He got hit in the
face mask. It was a straight blow. It's not hidden,
it wasn't obscured. It was shades of Sam Darnold getting
his face mask pulled. But boom, they don't call it.

(09:02):
And even on the broadcast, Al and Kirk went to
their officiating expert McCauley, and this is how they talked
about it.

Speaker 10 (09:09):
Jerry, what do you see here on both these the
hit the follow throw on his face masking in Gasiki.

Speaker 11 (09:14):
Yeah, it was clearly defensive holding before the pass was
in flight, it should have been called. And that does
look like forceful contact at the head of the quarterback.
That's a person's rucking the pastor and should have been called.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
So defensive holding.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Maybe it's sure, okay, that's on the forcible hits of
the face of the quarterback, like that's there's someone's job
who sit there, and it's like that's a penalty. Now,
I think there's a factor in this that earlier in
the same drive, they had already called a personal foul
on a hit on Burrow, and of course they should
not let that matter. These are human beings who think
about those things. I think they filter into their head
in the big moments. I think they're loath to throw

(09:48):
a flag on a game winning or game losing play.

Speaker 5 (09:51):
But then it also opens.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
Up other things that Burrow talked about was I never
get those calls, and every person with a social media
account says, Mahomes is getting that call Lamar in the
same games then and getting that call, Why is Joe
Burrow not. It's the conversation there. They did miss the call,
they should have had another shot. All kinds of stuff
in the last few minutes of this one's guys, But
I think big mistakes were made both by the Bengals

(10:12):
and unfortunately, I think the officials.

Speaker 8 (10:14):
Kyle, that was absolutely brilliant. And to let's start with
your pointment with Joe Burrow not getting that call. Guess
what Cam Newton wouldn't wasn't getting calls when he was
getting blown up when they had losing records. Shaquille O'Neal
wasn't getting the calls when he was the best player
in the game for forcible contact. When you're not winning
ball games, sometimes those don't go your way.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
Is that fair? Again, I'm not excusing anybody.

Speaker 8 (10:34):
The referees absolutely blew those situations, but sometimes those calls
don't come your way, which leads me to my next point.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
You talked about the timeouts.

Speaker 8 (10:42):
The Bengals had the matchups twice with Jamar and one
on one to the backside on that you're strong. You're
throwing to the strong side where all the double brackets are.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
See the he's double covered right here.

Speaker 8 (10:55):
You had one on one with the best player who
almost had a record setting performance, who has lit up
the screen. Just throw it to him, like you said, Kyle,
fifty to fifty forty sixty whatever. I'm going to the
best player on the field in that game, and they
went away from what's that Joe b was a Zach Taylor.
We don't know, but that's one in a game when
you again you gave opportunities over and over to an

(11:18):
offense that's unstoppable. You cannot blow it like this when
you make a gutsy two point conversion decision.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Yeah, we always knew this was going to be a
classical in these two met back week five. Here again
we have it to kick off week ten. We did
see Lamar Jackson get hit in the hand there a
little bit. There's some injuries we need to catch up
on from that Thursday night game. So we're going to
welcome in our insider now, Ian Rapaport. And we saw Lamar,
as I said, get his hand banged up a little.
He seems to be fine. There is more concern as

(11:44):
we saw with Kyle Hamilton from the Ravens. What can
you tell us?

Speaker 12 (11:48):
Yeah, ten days or so for the next game. Lamar
did get hit, return to the game.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
He's fine. Kyle Hamilton a little more, wait and.

Speaker 12 (11:54):
See John Harbaugh saying after the game that they're all
pro safety who when he wasn't on the field, you
really could feel it. For the Baltimore Ravens, he suffered
an ankle injury. You could see him on this sidelines,
on the bench in a boot. Not considered to be
a serious injury, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he's
not gonna miss time. A lot more tests today just
to determine what kind of ankle sprain this is for

(12:16):
the release for Kyle Hamilinton not being long term, that is.

Speaker 5 (12:19):
A good idea. That was a good thing.

Speaker 12 (12:21):
One person who has had a long term injury, far
longer than we ever ever imagined. That guy right there,
Christian McCaffrey, is in fact expected to return this Sunday
for the San Francisco forty nine ers.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
Kyle, this is not a drill, okay, at least I
don't think.

Speaker 12 (12:37):
Let's go until he actually gets handed the ball on
the first offensive play. At that point, I'm gonna know
it's real, but it's as real as it's ever going
to get. Kyle Shannan saying on the radio yesterday that
he does expect him to play. From my understanding, he's
looked at himself a practice has been a good couple
of days.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
Christian McCaffrey is slated to be.

Speaker 12 (12:55):
Back finally, and then for the Jacksonville Jaguars, I would
say much more uncertainty regarding their quarterback situation. Trevor Lawrence
has been very very limited in practice, very limited the
best couple of days dealing with a left shoulder injury.
From my understanding, he's considered more unlikely that he will
be able to play in this Sunday's game.

Speaker 5 (13:15):
He hasn't been.

Speaker 12 (13:15):
Ruled out there considering to day him day to day.
Trevor Lawrence has beat the odds before, but unlikely and
if he cannot go, Mac Jones, who at one point
we thought was the franchise quarterback for the Patriots, he
would step in as the backup for the Jibars.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Yeah, Jacksonville facing Minnesota on Sunday, so that would be
some tough slutting for Mac there.

Speaker 5 (13:33):
But I may appreciate the updates.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
Now we're not done talking about that Thursday night football gem.
Of course, there's still so much too unpacked the Kyle
as we look at this, I mean it's only the
start of week tend, but maybe already a game of
the year candidate.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
It's unbelievable. Hey, listen, I don't want to be this guy.
I had Jamar Chase in fantasy last night. I scored
fifty four points. Fifty four.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
It's over.

Speaker 5 (13:58):
It's a wrap. Some people had Chase Endburrough.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
Plus it's Friday, which means we're talking all the games.
Bill's Colts, Bears, Pats, Giants, Panthers, Niners, Bucks, Steelers, Commanders,
all of them, your team, your least favorite team.

Speaker 5 (14:13):
It's GMFP on a Friday. There's nothing better.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Good morning football.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
Well, that tune of music only means one thing. We
are heading to Munich, Germany. That is where.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
NFL internationals wrapping up this Sunday.

Speaker 5 (14:35):
We have Panthers, we.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
Have Giants there in Germany. We also have our Jimmy Erdau.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
We miss you here in studio, girl, but you are
racking up the miles so far starting the week Minnesota.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
Now you're in Germany.

Speaker 5 (14:48):
How's it been going.

Speaker 4 (14:49):
To you so far?

Speaker 13 (14:50):
I am living the NFL fans dream right now, the
way my week has been going, and we're coming to
a close here on GMFB ahead of Panthers Giants. Good
morning or good afternoon, everybody. It's just after two o'clock
here in Munich. I'm not getting booed on GMFB. This
is a Panther's FanFest and they just introduced Louke Keikley,
amongst the other legends that are here, Steve Smith's senior,

(15:10):
Julius Peppers, Jonathan Stewart. All these guys are up on
the stage just behind me right now, and all the
Panthers fans from the US and here are here to
see some of the legends. We hope to talk to
some of those guys here in a little bit on GMFB.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
Both teams have arrived in Munich.

Speaker 13 (15:26):
They are doing the Quintessential Land and keep your body
on the right clock as kickoff is just forty eight
hours away here for the final international series for the NFL. Now,
those are some Panthers legends that are here. I got
another story for you guys from people that flew over
here from Los Angeles to Munich. I first thought yesterday
it was the Kevin Costner take. My husband came the

(15:47):
day after I did. He was on the same plane
as Machine Gun. Kelly waschhane On.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
Kelly is doing the halftime show for the game. So
last night, machine.

Speaker 13 (15:56):
Gun Kelly's band was at the Hotel bar and we
hung out with the band.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
It's okay, so I got to know.

Speaker 13 (16:02):
The keyboardists, I got to know the bass player. They
are Brown's and Bills fans, respectively. We went deep on
what Cleveland should be doing and how maybe Josh Allen
is the guy instead of Joe Burrow to finally take
down Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
These guys they roll deep the.

Speaker 13 (16:19):
Of course they machine gun Kelly or Colton. He is
from Cleveland, so he's friends with Baker Mayfield.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
He's friends with Travis Kelcey. It was a good hang.
So you're gonna see machine gun Kelly, who just came
out with.

Speaker 13 (16:30):
A new song with Jelly Roll by the way, called
Lonely Road. It's kind of a remake of Country Roads.
So you would hope that that is the song that
has performed at halftime from Munich on Sunday afternoon.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
We call that a tease, Jamie. I just want to
go pro on you and your husband, just to see
what you guys are experiencing their Munich.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
That is fantastic. And when we get tot to our kids,
we know how to hang parents trip at Munich. I
hear you.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
Well, good to see you. Excited to watch you on
the sideline. We'll check back in in a little bit, Jamie.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
Thanks.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
Thanks, all right, let's get to you guys.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
A time around of the negative, but sixty seconds on
the clock.

Speaker 4 (17:06):
Kind of go around the horn.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Here, share our thoughts starting the first game Philadelphia where
they host the Cooper Rush led Cowboys. Mind you in
this NFC East rivalry, see the Cowboys have lost three straight.
Things are just getting hairrier in Dallas. Do you see
things being turned around this week?

Speaker 5 (17:24):
That would be a no sure.

Speaker 8 (17:25):
Look, this is a situation where the fact that Dallas
is Cooper Rush is in. This is where Dallas, our
Philadelphia's defense gets all after him. We're gonna see Vic
Fangio dial up a lot of pressures. Expect the Eagles
to get some takeaways and to continue rolling over Dallas
team which next week should be starting Trey Lance a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
It would be pretty funny if Cooper Rush came in
there and just lit it up, and he's hitting CD
and they give this damn barn burner game. They give
Philly everything they want.

Speaker 5 (17:53):
Guys. You may not.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
You may think the Cowboys are relevant everything remember we're
coming down the pipe now the Thanksgiving We're all gonna
be watching them a couple of thursdays from now. I
would like some life, But I do think Steve is right.
Can we get Trey Lance? If it doesn't work out,
we all at least have some intrigue and attachment to
Trey Lance.

Speaker 5 (18:10):
But where he was drafted and the journey.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
I hope Cooper rushdores for five hundred yards, but if not,
Trey Lance next week would be cool.

Speaker 9 (18:16):
That would be an interesting one to say. I don't
have anywhere else to go on this one because I
just don't think that the Dallas Cowboys have it. Talk
about the egos, yeah, I guess, but I will say this,
it'd be cool to see Saquon Barkley maybe jumped sideways
on it.

Speaker 5 (18:30):
Look, there you go, There you go.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
That's gonna be a tough one to top. Moving on,
Drake May and the Paths, coming to Chicago to take
on sort of the spiraling Bears. Also, Kyle, take us
to Soldier Field. I need a pretty good pulse, a
finger on the pulse there. Things just aren't seeming to
go their way either.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
Right now.

Speaker 5 (18:48):
I'm tending to go positive on this. I'm really listen.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
If they're going back home where the Bears are very good,
they're playing a scrappy and feisty Patriots team. But it's
two and seven right there. I know it's been a
rough couple of weeks. I'm not going to make a
joke that if the Bears lose this game they don't
have to worry about their stadium plants because they're going
to burn Soldier fields to the ground.

Speaker 5 (19:06):
I'm not going to do that.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
You take care of the Patriots, the Packers come next week,
you get the train back on the tracks. This is
actually a perfect opportunity for the Bears. I'm staying positive. Okbar,
what are you doing.

Speaker 9 (19:16):
I'm staying hopeful in this situation because the Chicago Bears,
they've got the toughest remaining schedule after this. They need
this win to give lift their spirits up high, to
get them move in the right direction. They've got the
Packers twice, They've got the Vikings, they've got the lines,
They've got a very tough schedule that they need to
get ready for. Not to mention them in the back end,
they've got the forty nine ers as well.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
They need this one.

Speaker 8 (19:37):
For sure, Okbar, you just talked about that schedule.

Speaker 5 (19:39):
This sounds to me like a trap game for the Bears.

Speaker 8 (19:41):
I'm being facetious in this game, but Drake May, I'm
telling you this guy is the real deal. They may
not win, but the world's going to see how good
of a player this guy is.

Speaker 5 (19:50):
He's good, yeap.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Moving on the seven and two Bills heading the Indi
to take on the Cold Show. Flacco in company hope
to rebound after a Sunday night loss to the Vikings.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
Ochbar, what sends out to you here?

Speaker 9 (20:01):
Well, five wins in a row there for the Buffalo Bills,
they can get five wins in a row. This gives
them all of the momentum, all of the strength and
the belief that they need the following week going up
against the Kansas City Chiefs. You know they see it.
I know they're going to tell you one game at
a time, but they're looking beyond and going, Yo, we
got the Chiefs. We meet this win against the Colts.

Speaker 5 (20:20):
Are there are there any wide receivers playing in this game?
Though we know Amari Cooper is iffy.

Speaker 8 (20:24):
We've got all these receivers, you know, Keon Coleman is iffy,
which is why I think James Cook and Josh Allen
could be running all day against the Colts. Kyle, you
know the Colts run defense isn't good. Look for heavy.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Josh Allen run game, no doubt, and he's gonna have
to do it himself. I actually find the Colts very
interesting in the situation. Here you are, you're kind of
playing for your season, You're at home, You're four and five.
If Flacco is poor again, is that then we go
back with the box of chocolate, say Anthony Richard and
say get back in there, kid, we love you now.

Speaker 5 (20:52):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
It's the really interesting deal. And yet Steve, it's also
the matchup is interesting. Put you on the spot, Steve Wesh.
These teams rarely play like this. The last time the
Buffalo Bills one in Indianapolis.

Speaker 5 (21:06):
Who was the Bill's starting quarterback?

Speaker 8 (21:08):
Kyle, I know you like to go deep. I've just
got to throw out a JP Lowsman for you.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
It's a great guess you know who this starting quarterback was.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
It's Doug Flutie.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
He was the bill starting quarterback in Indianapolis last time
they won.

Speaker 5 (21:20):
Isn't that why way back. Yeah, in a minute. I
think we're all shocked.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
Un I know that's good, good trivia.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
I used to live in Rochester, New York, and Doug
Flooty was the quarterback. Still all right, forty nine ers.
They're heading to Tampa taken on the Bucks. Ian told
us here earlier. Christian McCaffrey is set to make his
season debut, Steve, do you feel like he will make
a big enough difference if he comes back and they
can finally.

Speaker 5 (21:43):
Get a win here? That would be yes, because you
have to scheme for him.

Speaker 8 (21:46):
I'm just interested to see if Kyle Shanahan uses him
early as a pass threat, to see if you can
get Todd Bowles to back off from blitzing, or if
he use him late to close out after softening that
defense with Jordan Mason, the same way that Kareem hunted
last week when they played the Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
I'll still believe it when I see it. I still
the McCaffrey thing. It's been so strange and so shadowy.
It's like you know when someone says they have like
a picture of Bigfoot, and you look like, I don't know,
that's not Bigfoot, that's just some shadow behind the tree.
I've heard Ian Rappaport say he's going to be out there.
But just like Ian said, until he is actually on
the field and not on the sideline, not a warm

(22:22):
ups and actually getting the ball, I won't believe it's
been that bizarre of a ride.

Speaker 5 (22:27):
I hope he is, but I'll believe it when I
see it.

Speaker 9 (22:29):
Docty, I'm with you with the hope because they need
this in the best way. They need Christian McCaffrey to
be out there running the offense. But then you start thinking, well,
you can't load management him right now, because right now
you have a San Francisco team that is sitting at
five hundred.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
They got to throw them out there full.

Speaker 9 (22:44):
Go and with those two achilles and the ankle whatever
you're calling that entry, that's a.

Speaker 5 (22:49):
Lot yeah, looking at it.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
Despite though McCaffrey not being there, the forty nine Ers
are top five in total and rushing offense this season,
so not a lot.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
Of drop off. Last one here for our first.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
Round of Matt minute six and two Steelers versus the
seven and two Commanders. What could this could be the
game of the week here, Kyle, this is going to
be a very interesting test for both teams.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
Could be the game of the week and I have
a new developing story of the year. My prediction, guys,
on Monday morning, the number one story in the NFL
will be the Russell Wilson Pittsburgh Steelers. Russell Wilson, who
will go three and ohero as the Steelers quarterback, who
continue to play brilliantly. He has a perfect passer rating
in the fourth quarter. I didn't see this coming. You

(23:32):
didn't see this coming. The only person in the world
who saw this coming as the head coach of the
Pittsburgh Steelers, and I like Pittsburgh on the road and
Russell Wilson mania to set in, and it's a really
cool deal.

Speaker 9 (23:42):
I'm sorry, I'm just you know, it's a little early
for me here on the West Coast. I just want
to make sure I heard you correctly. Were you saying
that they were going to win, that they're going to
beat the Washington Commanders? Yes, oh seven and two for
the Steelers to the No, I didn't even matter what
I was getting ready to say. That will not happen, Okay.
Jamee Daniels has been outstanding, save the office, save the

(24:02):
till right now, Hi, Monday. Hi, how was your weekend?
I will cut my mustache and my beard off and
go and naked face before I left that.

Speaker 5 (24:14):
We're recording this, let me show you TV. Let me
do it because look.

Speaker 8 (24:18):
I know we're out of time, but look, I think
the Steelers defense yek me too much.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
I love Jay and Daniels.

Speaker 8 (24:22):
He's gonna have to run around, but this is something
that could be a little bit overwhelming. It'll be the defense,
not Russell Wilson's.

Speaker 5 (24:27):
Why the Steelers went.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Oh man, I can't I can't wait for Monday to
play this back.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
Oh Ma, Ruie joining us there on set in Los Angeles?

Speaker 5 (24:38):
Ohm, are you excited for the weekend?

Speaker 2 (24:39):
I am excited.

Speaker 11 (24:40):
I'll tell you what, Kyle, there's nothing better as a
reporter when you highlight a game pre game for a
matchup to watch, and that's the matchup that.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
Makes the difference in the game.

Speaker 11 (24:47):
Similarly, yesterday we were hyping up that game between the
Bengals and Ravens, and it certainly lived up to it.
Another great one between those two teams, both Lamar Jackson
and Joe Burrow putting on a show. Their Week five
matchup went to overtime, but this one since he was
trying to avoid that and they went for the two
point conversion instead of kicking the point after Burrow unable

(25:09):
to connect to Tanner Hudson for the game winner. Our
guy Cam Wolf was there and spoke with Ravens Tight
and Mark Andrews after the game.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
What was the feeling for you guys going into that
two point version trying to see if your team gets
another win against this team?

Speaker 7 (25:24):
You know, really, just the way that the guys walked
throughout the game was incredible.

Speaker 5 (25:29):
The belief that we had in each other.

Speaker 7 (25:31):
It wasn't pretty all four quarters, it wasn't good, but
we found the way and we started to move to
the ball, and we started to make plays, defense making plays,
and we just believed in ourselves and it was a
really good win to come over adversity.

Speaker 5 (25:43):
What can you say about your quarterback of what he
continues to do.

Speaker 7 (25:46):
He just continues to get better and better. You know,
the energy and the focus that he brings week in
week out, it's unmatched. Man, He's he's one of one.

Speaker 11 (25:52):
No one's else have been like a We will see
a part three in the playoffs meantime. Earlier This week,
the Dolphins held the second annual Jason Jenkins Day.

Speaker 5 (26:01):
Of Service to celebrate the life and legacy of.

Speaker 11 (26:03):
The organizations late great Senior VP of Communications and Community Affairs.
Nearly six hundred and fifty volunteers spent the day serving
more than twenty five community projects across South Florida. Jenkins
unexpectedly passed away back in August of twenty twenty two,
leaving behind a legacy of impact in the community and

(26:24):
still to come. On the show, Former Giants defensive.

Speaker 5 (26:26):
Tackle Marcus Coo.

Speaker 11 (26:28):
Joins the show as we get set for the Panthers
and Giants backgame in Munich, and that's coming up next
on Good Morning.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Football, Good Morningball.

Speaker 3 (26:48):
Were more welcome to Marcus Kohon, who is a friend
here at the show.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
Yeah, Markers, good.

Speaker 10 (26:54):
Afternoon, Yeah, good afternoon, Good morning to you all of you.

Speaker 14 (26:57):
Thanks for having me again. I missed you in Munich
a little bit. I have to say.

Speaker 5 (27:00):
Jeanie is around.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
If you see her, you can dap her up.

Speaker 4 (27:05):
The marks.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
It looks like you're having so much fun. Tell us
what is your current role and what does all this
mean to you that the NFL is back in Unich?

Speaker 10 (27:13):
Well, my current role is I wear many hats to
grow the game internationally. So I started working with the
league obviously after I was playing. The game is growing
tremendously in Germany. I support the Patriots for the internationalization
for the last seven years now. Started working with the
Giants after they got to international rights in Germany.

Speaker 14 (27:32):
Work with the league, work with the NFLPA, support.

Speaker 10 (27:35):
Some football conference here in Germany broadcast for the German
rights holder.

Speaker 14 (27:39):
So I try to stay busy.

Speaker 5 (27:41):
We get us deer. I do that right, you dou it.

Speaker 14 (27:47):
Why.

Speaker 9 (27:48):
I had to really get my mind right to make
sure I know that I wanted to impress you.

Speaker 10 (27:52):
But you played fours a little angrier and then it's
German pretty much.

Speaker 9 (27:58):
Okay, so we get there there you go, okay, good, good, Hey,
you spent four seasons in the league, and you know,
you're the first German to score a touchdown in the NFL.
What's that reception been like, you know, going back to Germany,
what's that been like there?

Speaker 10 (28:13):
I mean, it's obviously my claim to fame in German
a little bit. There were a few Americans that scored
touchdowns before me, but yeah, and Germany happened to be
before the first but I almost stumbled there.

Speaker 14 (28:23):
But still made it in the end zone.

Speaker 10 (28:25):
I kind of had to worry about not fumbling the
football and not like peeing my pants when I made
it in the end zone, because I was slightly overwhelmed.
If you imagine, you grow up as a kid in
Germany and like your dream is that you maybe not
even your dream, but you maybe want to play in
the NFL one day and it happens to work out,
as my guy obj here was happy for me, and yeah,
unbelievable experience.

Speaker 14 (28:46):
So it was a good time.

Speaker 10 (28:48):
But that was what I used to do, primarily tackle
other people, not really stumbling in the end zone.

Speaker 1 (28:54):
No, I think it's really cool that you had these
great memories with the Giants and that you're sitting there
at the Philadelphia Eagles jacket.

Speaker 5 (28:59):
What's up with that?

Speaker 14 (29:00):
Whoa whoa, whoa, whoa whoa. This is the NFL Germany jacket.

Speaker 10 (29:04):
I would never my old team is playing in the Motherland.

Speaker 14 (29:08):
I'm not gonna wear an Eagles jacket, all right.

Speaker 5 (29:11):
That's what you know.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
We call that in America busting chops, and that is
a great American tradition. But we also love the tradition
of defense.

Speaker 5 (29:19):
Here, dude and.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
Listen, one of your former defensive coaches, Steve Spagnolo, is
now really one of the most important figures in the
whole league because he's just dominating with the World Champions Defense.
What are your memories of Spags? You have a Spag story.
You're always so good at this. Tell us something about
Spags in your experience.

Speaker 10 (29:37):
First of all, he was one of my favorite coaches
I've ever had.

Speaker 14 (29:39):
I mean, Spags was unbelievable.

Speaker 10 (29:42):
He was He came in as a defense coordinator with
the Giants, always had had a great connection with them.
I mean, I still went broadcast for Germany. I'll see
him now and when I go to Kansas City Chiefs games,
we stay in touch.

Speaker 14 (29:53):
So I'm very happy for his success.

Speaker 10 (29:55):
He's doing a really, really nice job in Kansas City.
Is a great person, great guy. I remember one of
the stories. They always thought I was smart for some reason,
maybe it's because I'm from Germany, but I.

Speaker 14 (30:05):
Came into the meeting room and they had a bet.
That's they asked, what is a baby kangaroo's name?

Speaker 10 (30:11):
And they thought that me, as a foreigner, would know
what the English world is.

Speaker 14 (30:14):
For a baby kangaroo.

Speaker 10 (30:16):
They all had to coaches all have their money on me,
but I obviously didn't know that.

Speaker 14 (30:19):
Do you guys know what a baby kangaroo's name is?

Speaker 5 (30:21):
And Jilly? Yeah, Joey Joey.

Speaker 14 (30:23):
Right there you go. There you go, smart, There you go.
You're smart. You were smarter than the defense of the
New York Giants in twenty thirteen. So yeah, that's so
that's the story.

Speaker 5 (30:34):
There at Marcaus. We know football is big.

Speaker 8 (30:36):
We know our Joe Thomas coached over there, Jim tom
Sula is coaching over there in the German Football League.
We know there's a lot of things around German football,
the atmosphere of the game. What are some of your
favorite things just about the overall environment in the football
atmosphere over in Germany.

Speaker 10 (30:52):
I mean, I think that all of these international games right,
we have it now in London since two thousand and seven,
I mean Germany.

Speaker 14 (30:58):
It's the third year in a row.

Speaker 10 (30:59):
It's our fourth game we're playing over there, and I
think Germans are more they love the sport than the
games so much. Five of the six and for europe
team by the time the league ended in two thousand
and seven we're all in Germany. So Germans really loved
the game, and for them, it's a big thank you
from the NFL that we actually now have games regularly
in Germany and the atmosphere, I mean some of your

(31:19):
experiences already in Munich and also in Frankfurt last year,
it is absolutely electric.

Speaker 14 (31:25):
I mean even a guy like Tom.

Speaker 10 (31:26):
Brady who's experienced everything, said Munich was one of his
favorite football experiences ever. So it kind of shows what's
happening in Germany. People like to play the sport. People
play boys and girls play flag football in German schools
and obviously the in the stands. It's a huge family
fest that that's always nice to see.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
Good to get the NFL back there. Akward mentioned it
just a couple of minutes ago. We want to run
this back. We want to hear what your touchdowns sounded like.
Listen to this Titans looking to their first first down
and this is not both ball is loose and.

Speaker 14 (31:58):
He stood up and racing into the in zone? Is
Marcus for a touchdown?

Speaker 4 (32:06):
Racing in race in the end market?

Speaker 2 (32:10):
Where is that?

Speaker 14 (32:12):
Do I hear a little sarcasm?

Speaker 1 (32:13):
There?

Speaker 3 (32:16):
You are racing in I'm giving you your flowers.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
Man, where is that ball?

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Though?

Speaker 10 (32:22):
It's actually one of my few football memorabilia that I
have in my apartment in New York City where I
still lives, So it's if you ever call me, I'm
in my home office and you will see it behind me.

Speaker 14 (32:33):
So I kept it.

Speaker 10 (32:34):
But it was actually hard to keep it because I
was also as one of the bigger guys. I was
on the field goal protection team, so I didn't get
to luxury to immediately get off the field and celebrate
with my teammates.

Speaker 14 (32:43):
I actually had to line up right away to kick.

Speaker 10 (32:45):
The pat Obviously, the Titans defense wasn't very happy with
me after I score a touchdown, so three guys lining
up across from me immediately ran right into me to
kind of show me that, Yeah, they weren't too happy
with me. But I ended up keeping the ball, and
I'm very happy about that.

Speaker 5 (32:58):
See, we love that.

Speaker 3 (33:01):
I'm glad you were able to keep it, though, Mark,
because we are so appreciative of you. Thank you for
joining us here again. Maybe you got to get another
shot of you back in New York. We can see
that football so enjoyed the game on Sunday.

Speaker 14 (33:12):
Thank you thanks for.

Speaker 5 (33:14):
Having me always see here. I thought maybe he did
the right thing. Gave the ball to Jason Pierre Paul
for doing all the work.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
You need to keep that one.

Speaker 5 (33:25):
I'd just like to see a lineman score a touchdown. Man,
you know that's cool.

Speaker 14 (33:29):
